Dave did an amazing job installing my new kitchen backsplash tile! His prices are fair and he is a really nice and honest guy. Dave was very tidy and cleaned up each night before he left. I highly recommend Left Coast Tile & Stone and will use him again!

We are so pleased with the work Dave at Left Coast Tile did for us! We had two showers and bathroom floors retiled which came out looking amazing! Dave is super professional and his prices are really fair. He is great at communicating and just an expert at his craft. We asked him to do some pretty intensive design work which required a lot of extra cuts and attention to detail. We were so thrilled with our new bathrooms, we hired Dave to tile our front patio! We give Left Coast Tile & Stone a 5+. Can't say that about most contractors!

We were very happy to have found Dave to help us with our bathroom renovation. His price was very fair and his work was excellent. He was very willing to work within our tight schedule. He completed the job from demo to completion in two weeks. Dave was a very calm and considerate presence in our home. He kept the mess down to a minimum and was very understanding of keeping doors and gates closed for our animals. I felt very comfortable leaving him in the house while I went to work. We will definitely recommend Dave to friends with renovation projects and we hope to have him work on future projects in our home.

Been meaning to leave a review for about a year now.. Dave was an amazing contractor with excellent communication and rapport. He went above-and-beyond for our kitchen tiling project, and found an ideal underlayment for our unique situation. He also did our entry-way tiling. In each project, he discussed the layout options and their advantages/disadvantages. His pricing was quite fair, too (not our cheapest bid, but far less than the top bids coming from large remodel companies). We still have remodeling projects ahead, and Dave will be one we look to first.

Dave truly brings the enjoyment back into a re-model. He is on-time to the minute, organized, and he does exceptional work. I have yet to find another contractor that truly takes pride in each job and always does the right thing when hurdles happen without missing a single detail (I say when because there are always hurdles). Example: When doing the bathtub install during the second bathroom remodel, Dave and the plumber found a pipe that was leaking with a little mold. Dave documented what had happened, fixed the leaky pipe, met with the HOA President that was on-site, and he helped with the mold removal/drywall install. Dave did my master bathroom first, guest bathroom second, and now I am having him come back to do my kitchen floor. I would recommend him to my mother. =) She actually was visiting during bathroom upgrade and wished she could use him in Northern CA. If you live in San Diego, you are lucky to have access to Dave. In my Kitchen remodel (Not Dave), I often felt lucky if I got what I paid for. Usually I felt like at least a few short cuts were taken. With Dave, you honestly and truly get more than what you pay for. High quality work with a reasonable price. Joel

    Backsplash

Dave of Left Coast Tile & Stone was just perfect. Everything you could ask for in a contractor...super nice guy, conscientious, clean, really high quality work and fairly priced. He did our kitchen backsplash (mix of ceramic and marble tiles), and faced our new fireplace with Ledgestone. Each of these projects came with their own challenges. Backsplash material was very expensive with little excess for waste, had unusual shapes and just required more time and care than normal. Fireplace stone was relatively cheap and not the highest quality and easy to break. In both cases, Dave did a phenomenal job, taking the appropriate care with the expensive backsplash material to make it look as good as it could, and putting in extra effort on the fireplace (mitered corners, breaking apart pre-fab sheets, filling joints with setting material) so that you would never know the material wasn't the best. I would absolutely hire Dave again if we needed more tile or stone work and highly recommend him.

Alon was our project manager for a 3 bathroom remodel and he was fantastic. The project was well organized with almost no down time at all. They worked very hard to make sure they understood what we wanted and where we wanted it. We are picky and didn't know what we were doing. They were patient and walked us through all the options, with good suggestions and ideas. At times they really went out of their way to give us exactly what we wanted, rerouting vents and pipes so we could have niches and medicine cabinets exactly where we wanted them. All in all the most positive experience I've had with a contractor.

Based on that storyline, they're refusing to take responsibility for the flooring damage. The windows were installed without permits. I brought in four independent inspections, including three licensed general contractors and one home inspector. All confirmed active water intrusion and pointed to the window installation as the likely source. Despite that, Forever Builders continues to deny, redirect, and avoid addressing the actual installation. The floors never had water intrusion before the remodel. The problem started after their work. Instead of owning it and fixing it, they've chosen to argue technicalities and wait for CSLB to force the issue. For a company that promotes itself as 5-star, this has been anything but. When serious defects surface, there's no urgency, no accountability, and no effort to stand behind the work. Just excuses. That is not 5-star service. That is not what integrity looks like.

Review Update (2026)…read more I am updating my original 5-star review from a few years ago. At the time, we were very happy with our kitchen remodel and the overall experience working with Creative Design & Build. The project turned out beautifully, which is why I originally left such a positive review. Over the years, however, I noticed that one section of the flooring felt slightly soft when walking on it. At first, it did not seem serious, so we continued to live with it. Recently, the problem became worse and a section of the floor began to noticeably sink when stepped on and eventually a few edges of the flooring broke. At that point, I became concerned that it could become a safety issue. Because we still had plenty of spare flooring boards left over from the project, I attempted to replace the affected board myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the new board to fit correctly due to the locking system, and I could not restore the original board either. I then contacted Creative Design & Build for assistance. One reason I reached out was because our original project manager, Oded, had told us that if we ever had any issues, we should contact the company. I left a voicemail and later received a return call from a staff member. After I explained the situation, she said she would check with management and get back to me. A few days later, I received a text message stating that the warranty had expired and that no repairs would be covered. This was disappointing because I had never been informed that there was a four-year warranty period, nor was I able to find any reference to such a limitation in our contract. When I asked for details regarding the warranty and whether they could recommend someone to repair the issue, I did not receive any further response. There were two other issues relating to electrical and plumbing, however we decided to live with that until we had a major problem we needed fixing. I still appreciate the work that was done on our remodel years ago, and our kitchen remains a space we enjoy. However, I have been disappointed by the lack of follow-up and support when a problem arose. My advice to future customers is to make sure all warranty terms, coverage details, and expiration dates are clearly documented and understood before signing a contract.
