I have been to Los Olivos over a dozen times and always find a new spot. I just love this town. This coffee shop is everything..... all my favorites in one place. Coffee... books...trees ...olive trees in the backyard. I walked in with my family to get coffee and treats and was in awe. I can stay here all day .... Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Customer service was friendly and welcoming. We tried the pastries and all were delicious. The chocolate muffin was my favorite. The coffee cake and cinnamon roll were amazing as well. The coffee was well made. I enjoyed my coffee over iced with milk. No sugar. .... We sat in the backyard area and enjoyed our time .... What a lovely place. The space is super eclectic and I dig it. My barista was super nice. Vanilla latte was not strong enough and needed an extra shot of espresso. My barista informed that all drinks are two shots so I would recommend the 12oz instead of the 16oz or ask for an extra shot if you're a caffeine lover. There is a great outdoor space for the nice days and a cozy bookstore area for those looking for a calmer atmosphere. Restroom is clean but there is only one as far as I saw which thankfully was not busy. Parking is all residential but it seems like there is plenty and for those looking to do work on their laptops there are definitely plenty of outlets so enjoy. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely kind. The service was attentive and everything felt easy and relaxed. We absolutely love the corgi theme. It adds so much personality and charm to the space without feeling gimmicky. The shop has a cozy ambiance, but the standout feature for us was the huge back patio. It is spacious, peaceful, and ideal for getting work done with a laptop, or even with big groups of people. The patio covers provide plenty of shade so the sun does not feel overwhelming, and the WiFi was strong and reliable. We ordered hibiscus iced teas, and they were delicious. Lefty's Coffee Co. is a charming little coffee house located at heart of a tiny town of Los Olivos. They have a good coffee and tea list as well as some pastries. Its interior decor was really lovely with their own little bookstore at the back. I made a quick stop here to grab a Hot Latte for my road back to LALALAnd. And it was sublime. They have front and back outdoor seats. Similarly, they have a robust wifi for customers. Prices were competitive. Service was top notch. I reckon this coffee shop is the best in the area. As for parking, only street parking is available. I think this coffee house is a good place to chill with friends, your Russian female lover, and read a book. I was telling my mom about how I've been wanting to try Lefty's Coffee Co so we decided to stop prior to the SY Valley Pride! We came around 9:30 in the morning. It was easy to find parking on the street where the shop is. It's a cute cafe with plenty of seating. They have some books for sale alongside the menu and ordering area. I decided to opt for a dirty horchata latte and a chocolate muffin. My mom got a vanilla latte and a cheesy pretzel. We took a seat whilst waiting for our order. After a few short minutes, everything was ready! My horchata latte had a balanced sense of sweetness, cinnamon, and espresso. First, I tried the chocolate muffin which was very delicious! It had this sort of chewiness that I think stems from it's gluten-free quality. Next, I tried the cheesy pretzel. It was warmed up and so good! It was salty and greasy but not too much of either thankfully. It really balanced with the bready pretzel for a yummy, savory treat. Overall, I really enjoyed what I got to try at Lefty's. Admittedly, once my mom and I were walking to our car I asked her if everyone working seemed really serious. She said she thought it was just her imagination. For clarity, nobody was rude! The cashier was helpful when I had some questions about the baked goods. My mom said it just seemed jarring how serious everyone seemed juxtaposed with the cutesiness of the shop. I really like this place a lot. It's a cool coffee spot a few steps off the main drag of wine tasting places. It's located along a residential block and has a small seating area inside plus a large patio area on the backside of the cafe where leashed dogs are welcome. I ordered a hot dirty horchata and a cinnamon roll which I requested be warmed up. We sat out in the quiet patio area on this brisk morning to enjoy our coffees. They have some picnic tables and wooden folding chairs out there but we chose to sit in low-to-the-ground mesh chairs. The dirty horchata had a good cinnamon flavor which was vivid but didn't overpower the taste of what is a good, quality roast. The cinnamon roll was fresh, soft, and cinnamony. I thought my navigation was off when I was looking for this place because it was guiding me through a residential area, but it wasn't. It is nestled between houses, and basically looks like a house that has been converted to a coffee shop. Parking was somewhat difficult as I wasn't sure if I was blocking someone's house. Didn't look like much from outside, but I was pleasantly surprised by its well-decorated interior. It has an artsy, hippy vibe, and a peaceful back patio. It was the perfect setting to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. I only tried its flat white so far but it was pretty good. VEGAN EATERS HERE........Lefty's Coffee Co. is tucked away (even for tiny Los Olivos) just off of Alamo Pintado, the center of town. It used to be a house that was discovered to be to have a "commercial zoning" by the owners and creators of Lefty's, Laura Newman and Jim Tauber who had dreamt of such a place since a long ago visit to a hippy cafe in Wyoming. After a year+ of development, it was transformed into something quite remarkable, a truly hospitable coffee (and baked goods) spot that was created by and for locals first and the flurry of visitors, second. It's just who Laura and Jim are. After deciding they wanted a place that they would personally vibe on and want to hit regularly, if not walk to from their nearby home, they set about to make it a reality and just quietly opened the doors sometime in January '22. I don't think for a second they knew what would happen but, happen it did. Lefty's became, virtually overnight "the place" and never looked back. It is Laura Newman's unfailing taste and vision that is responsible for the look and much else. Jim Tauber is the procurer who never missed when it came to sourcing the "only organic, biodegradable, environmentally sustainable" materials that are evident throughout Lefty's. Nothing was left to chance, no container or label or refrigerator or machine that wasn't carefully researched to rate as they felt essential with their admirable integrity. The same for the food and beverage items, baked by the superb Gipsy Hill Bakery, locally sourced chamomile tea, fair trade coffee, handmade Greek-style pure coconut yoghurt and compotes made from fruit from their own @honeybearorchard all mixed with a little (or a lot) of hippy and punk, Peace, Love, Equality, Acceptance and Respect for every human being without exception all rolled into one. Lefty's wears its heart on its very enchanting and inviting and embracing sleeve. Love is everywhere. There is even a hand made bicycle stand in the shape of Lucky's signature logo with a little stand that offers cyclists the use of tools for quick repairs and, get this, each Wednesday the local cycle repair dude is in the house to do quick tune ups for riders passing through. There is even a wall of well cared for books available for purchase at greatly reduced prices, from private libraries with profits going to Brave Trails, a leadership camp with the mission of connecting LGBTQ+ youth to their people, place and passions. In a world more geared for the mediocre and mindless, sometimes, there is a bright light and, if you are getting the idea that Lefty's is a special place, you'd be right.
