Not sure what happened with my order yesterday. But I am wonder if there has been a change in ownership? I do remember some time ago ownership changed and the quality of the food dropped. One thing that tipped me off was that they are putting mayo on burgers now. WTF....... Where's the thousand islands????? Personally I don't like mayo and when you have been coming here for years, I know that have always used thousands on burgers. Expect that time when ownership changed. You guest it they started using mayo. Even the thousands we got for the onion rings had a cheap taste to it. Also got a side of ranch and my wife said it was nasty. Tasted more like mayo. I didn't even eat my burger bc it had so much mayo. My wife only ate half of hers bc she feels the quality of the patty had dropped. This WAS my top pick for Father's Day lunch but not any more. It's one of those classic local burger spots that everyone in the neighborhood knows and goes to, and yes, they know me by name. I'm definitely a Pastrami fan and had recently heard about Arry's. So I had to check it out and see if the hype is real. I'm glad to say that It Is. First thing was at 7pm the drive through was packed as well as inside. Game 6 of the World Series was playing too. The inside was pretty clean and I paid a visit to the restroom and happy to see that it was also nice and clean. Descent amount of parking and in a nice spot in town. Now to the food. The Pastrami is drained well so the bread stayed dry on the drive home. Not too salty either but nicely peppery. My pooch doesn't like salty food and she loved it. It's apparent that they take care in this massive sandwich. Their pickled carrots onions and jalapeños are the best thing in the condiment bar. Pro Tip- Get down there and eat some Pastrami. Came into town and wanted to take my daughter here so she can try this place out. This place has been here since I was goin to middle school and I would walk home passing to this place everyday.. so I brought my daughter here to try and show her the area where I used to go school and live. We order a chili cheese fries and it was amazingly still good as it was 20+yrs ago and still as good as it was, they give a very good portion and price is reasonable. It was enough for 1 people to finish it. As I growing up this place has always been my favorite place to go as I walking home and this place has been around over 30+ yrs now.. the food has been very good in the past and nothing has change except for some employees. I remember a chef recommending Arry's Super Burger, so I had it bookmarked on Yelp for a while. We were at Bowlero Montebello and got hungry, but didn't want to eat there. We stopped by Arry's for a pastrami sandwich. The pastrami sandwich was massive! My son, wife, and I split one, and it was very filling. I initially thought the price was high, as The Hat's pastrami dip is cheaper. However, after seeing the size of Arry's sandwich, I knew we were getting a quality sandwich for a good price. Outside of The Hat, Arry's truly has the best Pastrami sandwiches and in some ways is better. I would suggest bringing another person with you to split the Pastrami sandwich because it's huge. Unfortunately the food was horrible and the service wasn't much better. The pastrami didn't taste anything near like it used to. The meat was very thick, way too tough, & lacked the pastrami flavor I used to know. The chili cheese fries were also not what they used to be. There were quite a number of people there last night and after we left more were coming in. I ordered the Polish Sausage Sandwich which was really good on Sourdough bread. So i saw a "who has the best pastrami in LA" post on IG. As my buddies are self proclaimed pastrami connoisseurs, we had to taste for ourselves. The Hat, Tops & Arry's were the 3 to compare. We ordered the pastrami burger and had the foresight to share as it was huge and more than a mouthful. Burger was juicy as was the pastrami. It was a bit on the salty side and i would've preferred the pastrami grilled (which can be requested) rather than boiled. Zucchini fries were excellent as was the creamy ranch dressing...wondered if it was a house recipe as it didn't taste like the typical out of the bottle variety. Heard great comments about Arry's, so we decided to try it. We parked in the back. They have about 5 parking spots and a drive thru, too. They have quite a variety of food, and they are known for their great breakfasts. It was lunch, so my wife and I decided on Mexican. I ordered the Carne Asada Burrito, and my wife ordered the Chicken Burrito. The waitress was super nice and very informative. The chefs were listening for their next orders. We watched the chef prepare our order, and as he was preparing, he was talking with us, saying these were special. They looked delicious. After the final wrap, they were bagged, and we took off. While walking out, the bag was very heavy. I thought it was 5 lbs. After we got home, they weighed in at over 3.5 lbs. The chicken burrito was the start of the meal. It was super tasty with all the guacamole, beans, cheese, and pico de gallo. The carne asada burrito was a bit chewy and less flavourful than the chicken burrito. But it was good.
