Went here few days ago and bought 5 small pies (bison, chicken, cherry, banana, and key lime) for a family gathering. The key lime was good, mild lime flavor, but enjoyable. The cherry was also tasty though I was surprised at how little filling there was inside. The banana lacked flavor and the custard was more vanilla. The crust is what makes a pie and I felt the crust was too heavy and lacked taste on the savory ones. The content inside needed moisture. The pies here are AMAZING! I am in love with all the berry pies and still need to try the others. Key Like Pie is on my list! They have various sizes as well and if you sign up for their rewards they will send you freebies occasionally. Oh, My, Word! I was doubtful when I came to redeem a gift card received last holiday season. But everything I've tried from this heavenly place has been amazing. I believe the main factor is the buttery, flaky, substantial pie crust! I'm not even a crust person but I fell in love with their pie crust. Take the Savory Chicken Pie (mini) I bought home. It's got that beautifully thick top cover crust, in the middle is a perfectly cut out Rooster. How darling! I fought with hubby on who gets to eat that piece! The sweet pies are just as decadent. At first I thought the oatmeal topping on the Caramel Bourbon Apple Pie was a little gross but was I wrong! It adds just the right amount of sweetness to an otherwise, tart-to-me apple filling. These are part of their standard menu; rotating specials are baked as mini pies. First and foremost, the crusts were almost flawless. Flaky though not really buttery, but great texture. The mixed berry filling was a great mix of berries for a balanced spectrum of texture and tartness. The apple bourbon ended a little too sweet for me, but had a fun caramelized oat topping. It's their Grand Reopening today. They had a soft opening last weekend. I was first in line when they opened at 8am. I got a Bacon & Egg hand pie ($6) for breakfast + mini blueberry and mini tart cherry ($10) + full size Cherry pie ($22). Since I was one of the first 50 customers I got a free Mini pie. The seating area is 1/2 of their previous layout. The hand pie was hot and flaky. It was fully filled, no gap. The owner walked around offering shots of Prosecco. I have not had a bad pie here, but my favorites are the bourbon apple caramel, French silk, and especially the chicken pot pie! My friends in CA always request I bring them back a pot pie, so you can find me hauling back 6-8 mini frozen chicken pot pies each trip. I've even brought a whole pie back for Friendsgiving before. First time at Legacy Pie. I'm a huge pie fan, and totally enjoyed the experience. I make cherry pies....theirs was very similar in filling, but their crust was better than mine! Loved the Apple Caramel mini, and the Berry Hand pie. My hubby said the S'mores mini was very good. Wish it wasn't so far from my house! The staff was helpful and attentive. Tried some pies I haven't had before. The thanksgiving pot pie was amazing! My favorite pie here is the Buffalo chicken and the thanksgiving pot pie was on par with that one. Personally, I'm a big fan of pie-- especially savory pies and they do not mess around. I ended up buying an insane amount of pie to take home with me. It was so good, like a hug in your stomach. BUT for $10 for a single serving pie, one expects it to be filled to top of the shallow pie pan. When you pop into the pie's top, you find a hollow...lots of air.....the blueberry filling was more like a bottom layer topped with lots of air :-(. As I said, great taste but for $10, I expect this small tart/indiv pie to be filled at least to top of the foil pie tin. This is quickly becoming our favorite breakfast place. We came in a little after 10 this time, and most of the savory hand pies were out, except for one last black bean hand pie. It was so good- lots of really good flavor, and definitely be sure to get the salsa with it.
