My daughter lived here 2023-2024, invasive mold was discovered throughout the entire apartment. Mold was growing on the walls, the furniture, the flooring, the cabinetry, not to mention she lost hundreds of dollars in shoes, clothing and housewares due to mold growth. She and her roommate called, emailed and sent pictures to the office staff, they were told maintenance would be in to find the cause and mitigate the damage. 5 hours after the first notification maintenance arrived and put a dehumidifier in the apartment, maintenance staff stated they had no way of finding the cause, they would apply bleach at a later time and left. No further communications from the office, I began calling the property manager, Ashley Rollins, who was not available for 13 hours and a full 34 hours after the discovery of the mold. My daughter was forced to vacate the property due to the mold invasion, I requested the rent be prorated, Ms. Rollins informed me they don't prorate rent, I asked for a claim form for damages, Ms. Rollins did not respond to that request. Ms. Rollins stated they would decide if the girls caused the mold and charge or not accordingly she suggested the apartment had been vacant for few days making the girls responsible for the mold and stated the fact that they hadn't discovered it sooner was a "red flag" again insinuating they could of somehow caused this mold explosion. The lack of concern for the health of their residents speaks volumes, they couldn't even pretend to care. There are way too many choices to call this trainwreck home! My daughter lived here for her senior year at FSU (23-24) with a roommate in a 2bd, 2ba apartment. The complex is in a decent location and close to a lot of stores, restaurants and the campus. The pool is small and there's a very small workout room. The bedrooms have their own bathroom, which is nice, but the kitchen and living room area is tiny. The provided furniture is beat up and dirty, as were the floors, carpet and appliances. Even though they claimed to have been cleaned prior to move in. The front door jam was cracked and not very secure. Parking is only good if you pay $400.00 per year for a designated space, otherwise you're taking a huge risk by parking in the multi-level lot because if you park in the wrong space you will most likely get your car towed within minutes, seriously. There's a tow truck either in the lot or close by just waiting to tow a wrongly parked car and it's not cheap to get your car out of the impound yard. It happens all of the time, so beware. The office staff are nice, but pretty much worthless. They are also students and they really don't care about helping anyone with anything. They sit around and play on the computer most of the time. Make sure when you move out you don't leave ANYTHING behind or you'll be charged an outrageous cleaning fee just to bag and walk whatever you eft behind to the on sight dumpster. Make sure all of the appliances, floors, carpets and showers are cleaner than when you moved in, otherwise you'll be charged a huge fee. We were charged $260.00 for "Light cleaning" and for leaving behind a small metal trash can, that someone could've used and a few boxes under the bed frame and a mattress pad. Oh, and the light bulbs in the living room fixture were burned out, so they charged to replace those that they unknowingly provide for free. I can understand a cleaning fee, but $260.00 was a bit much. We later found out my daughter's roommate was also charged $160.00 for "Light cleaning" as well. I emailed the manager, Ashley Rollins, to discuss the matter and tell her that upon turning in the keys at move out we asked one of the comfortably seated office staff to come up to the apartment and conduct a quick inspection to avoid any issues, but we were denied. I'm still waiting to hear back from Ms. Rollins. There are many apartment complexes on and off campus at FSU and I'm sure some are better than others. However, based on my daughter's experience at Legacy, we can not recommend this complex as a good or fair place to live. Do your research and check out other places. read more

Don't live here if you plan on having visitors lol. They will either have to park on the 6th floor (takes about 3 full minutes to drive up there, nearly getting hit head-on by ignorant drivers each turn only to reach the top, riddled with trash) despite the fact that floors 3-6 are empty. Sometimes there are no visitor spots left, in that case your visitor would have to go home. If they park in the visitors spots, they'll tow their car because Hobkirk Towing basically lives at this apartment. So if you have friends, this isn't your place. read more

The bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms have lots of storage. The kitchen and living area are on the smaller size, but that's to be expected for college apartments. Maintenance is responsive and non-intrusive. Its a relatively quiet and safe location and conveniently in walking distance of fsu. Overall, it's a pretty nice place to live read more

I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it is living here! I've been a resident at Legacy for 2 years now and I couldn't imagine living in any other apartment complex in Tallahassee. The staff and managers are extremely polite, professional and work so hard to ensure that every resident is satisfied. There are events, giveaways, etc. almost every week!!! We've had barbecues, seafood boils, roses for Valentine's Day etc. If you haven't visited yet, take a tour ! You'll fall in love. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because parking for guests of residents in the 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartments is a hassle but the office is extremely accommodating and fingers crossed, there will be more parking spaces in the near future! Special shoutout to Ashley (manager), Alyson and Brooke for being rockstars ! I never hesitate to renew my lease because it just keeps getting better and better! read more

I hate it here. Everything you pay for is not guaranteed while living here, including wifi, water, and privacy. If they tell you things will be shut off for 30 minutes, expect it to be shut off for the rest of the day. They shut off wifi during finals week, water for an entire day, and they will pop into your apartment whenever they please for "inspections" that are unnecessary. DO NOT LIVE HERE. They do not accommodate students, they are rude over the phone IF they answer the phone. They are not quick to respond to needs and they are horrible with customer service. I would never recommend living here to anyone and I will never sign at this complex ever again. read more

Legacy isn't the richest, fanciest apartment building in Tallahassee. Their gym could use a barbell, their pool is small and only a portion of it receives sunlight, and sometimes there's maintenance issues. However, Legacy Suites has the most genuine managing staff in Tallahassee and that makes all the difference. I've been cheated, taken advantage of, or disregarded by other staff *cough, cough, unprofessional Woodlands I'm looking at u* while Legacy goes above and beyond to serve their residents. All work orders get tended to immediately. Staff is friendly, helpful, and more than accommodating. Plus it's in walking distance to everything! Right off of heritage trail, near Target, near campus, and most importantly next to chic fil a. The bedrooms are HUGE as well! The best price for this high quality of a 2/2 I could find. I recommend Legacy to everyone I can. read more

The management has no desire to help you with any issues. My car was towed from my own apartment due to a reason not listed on their parking rules. When I asked where I should park if the lot was full, the person working at the office said that he didn't know and had no inclination to ask a manager or try to help me solve my problem. I've been a resident of Legacy Student Living for three years and it's allowed me to live out my monotonous routines in perfect peace. The location is right next to Stadium, giving me access to 3+ bus stops and a 10 minutes walk to the center of campus. The rooms are spacious and make up for the fact that the neighbors don't pick up after their dogs. However, Legacy does provide them with special totes and waste bins for such matters. I'm a people person and so I like to make connections with those around me. The office and maintenance personnel are the most pleasant and attentive people who make your residency peaceful, with efficient service and care. First off, the garbage system isn't practical at all. There are more than 5 dumpsters all hidden on the first floor of the filthy parking garage. So, people decide to just leave their trash anywhere they see fit.* MOLD will be in your unit!* There is literally an entire addendum in the lease (that you HAVE to sign) detailing the mold situation that they are aware of and continue to let be an issue. If you're already entrapped in a lease, just spray bleach on it cause that's all they're going to do if you "call it in." Basic appliances that still manage to kick the utility bill up to almost $90 sometimes. Add this to the ridiculous and still-increasing rent! Parking garage is constantly being used by non-residents for music videos, casual sex, drug use, tailgates, and obnoxious parties that can be heard from the pool. The apartment itself is tiny so hopefully you know and get along with your roommate(s). For management to actively intervene, your roommate must be arrested for a felony (murder, assault, etc). If you need to move to one of their many other vacant units, YOU must pay a fee of $350 and sign a whole other lease agreement. When I signed, they deliberately LIED to me and said they only do 12 month leases. After asking around, I found out that was a deliberate lie to squeeze two more months rent AND UTILITIES out of me! At least one TPD car is parked by the office on a regular basis dealing with the other nonsense that goes on at this place. False fire alarms, audible gunshots, and much more. Hopefully you aren't too attached to cable and a reliable water supply because you won't have that here. read more

Welcome to Casa Grande, Legacy Suites the home of "sorry we can't help you with that." This hotel is disgusting, no service, no hotel staff after 10PM, no real security, no nada! Unless you enjoy room in a filthy room and hanging out with a criminal element of people, I wouldn't recommend stay here. Do yourself a favor and pay slightly more for another hotel in this one horse town. The Holiday Inn across the street is far more accommodating, which has free in room wi-fi and FREE breakfast in the morning! HOT DAMN! Living here is very convenient because the bus stop is very close. The maintenance guys are very efficient and polite. The downside is that the garbage can is not very close to all apartments, and I wish they had more visitors parking. I'd recommend it. read more

This is the worst place EVER. I just got out of there. Walls are painted in acrylic paint (which will rub off if you are using it constantly), there are carpet tacks under the dividers between bedroom/living room and bedroom/bathroom and along the walls. Absolutely infested with roaches that you are responsible for getting rid of them (their pest control people are sweethearts and doing their best!). The SMOKE ALARMS GO OFF FOR NO REASON. Enjoy being woken up in the wee hours of the morning to your smoke alarms blaring off the wall and yelling "fire". Reported it to the office and they changed the batteries in a wire connected smoke alarm. Went off again the same night, they changed the batteries AGAIN and said "the batteries we put in there yesterday was about 6 months old. Went off again, they changed the whole fire alarms. Still went off. We had to just take them down off the walls. The air conditioning unit doesnt cyle through the whole apartment so the bedroom (even w the door open) is about 10 degrees hotter than the living room. The clothes grew mildew because of this. The bathroom is perpetually the temperature it is outside. The air vent that turns on in the bathroom w the light is as loud as an engine and cant be turned off. You have to scream if its on. The water in the "cold" spigot is not cold unless its cold outside. There is mold. The neighbor smoked weed on the balcony next to our unit and made our unit smell like a joint. Reported it, they said call the cops. Someone kept letting their dog pee/poop all over the walkway and didnt clean it. Only 6 visitors spots for both buildings that residents use. Cant put any holes in the walls to hang stuff and command strips rip the paint off the walls. Also was woken up one morning to the BATHROOM MIRROR FALLING OFF THE WALL aT 8 AM. We literally took the shards to the office to show them. The reason it fell off? They used WOOD GLUE to GLUE IT TO THE ACYRLIC PAINTED CINDERBLOCK WALL. And you pay 900$ a month for this bullcrap. The residents also throw their trash all over the place at the dumpster instead of inside it. The pools are dirty and not maintained. The garbage men come at 2/3 am and slam the dumpsters down (sucks when you live right next to the dumpsters! The gym is more of a workout room. Dont ever live here. Save yourself. read more

While living here I never had an issue until the last couple months. I was paying rent even though no longer living there when I received a call that they found someone who wanted to move into my vacant apartment. I was told there would be no fee and I'd have to cover the utilities for the month before the new residents move in. Today I received a call from management over a month after receiving that call that I have to pay a subleasing fee and still owe for another utility fee. I find this to be so unprofessional because if I new I was going to pay the same and only save 20 dollars having someone move in I would have never done that and left my apartment vacant until my lease ended. read more

I lived here for a year and it was going great until my car and my neighbors cars started to get broken into. The garage is super dark and sketchy with no cameras. When I filed a police report I asked if Legacy needed it for their files and they said no we can't do anything about that. They charge you for literally everything too. I left my garbage bag outside to take out when I left to class and my roommate and I both got charged $25 each for that. Even though none of our other neighbors had to pay that. The worst of all was when I moved out and got a $400 charge for rug cleaning and "missing keys and parking decals" that I had turned in to the office before leaving. When I disputed the charges they agreed to only charge me $300. They also charged my roommate the same amount of money. Whether it be $600 or $800, that's still insane for a carpet cleaning that barely even needed. They are money hungry so for that reason I wouldn't live here again. read more

I love living at legacy!!! I've lived here for 2 years and am moving just because I am graduating. The rooms are so huge which I love because I don't spend much time at home other than sleeping. The kitchens are small but I don't mind because of all the awesome restaurants that deliver nearby. The maintenance is also awesome and gets your work orders fixed literaly the same day! Location is everything and I specifically like how close I am to everything. New gym equipment is a plus because sometimes the leach can be too packed. Hoping for more equipment in the near future. The maintenance responds quickly to any issue, which is nice. Cozy apartments with big rooms. I like having the parking garage because I don't have to worry about getting clipped on Chapel Dr. Small kitchen but that's ok because I only live with one other person. Staff is nice and we get to print documents for free which is another big plus! My only complaint is the website to pay rent is slow and sometimes and won't let you pay....Then they give you a letter threatening to kick you out because you're a day late (yea right). Corporate should probably reevaluate that letter or send out automated emails. So I recommend automatic withdraw for rent and bills so you don't get the scary "we're kicking you out" letter. read more

My son has been at Legacy Suites for a year with my co-signature. The service and environment has been fair to poor, but it is close to the FSU campus. There have been unpleasant experiences such as leaving other's trash in his apartment after unannounced maintenance calls and taking five days and numerous calls to remove it. On the positive side, the parking area is good. The real problem started when they enticed him to renew eight months early. Having just turned 18 one month before, they convinced him to renew for another apartment with wooden floors for the next school year, an important improvement for his health from the less-than-impressive carpets. When it was time for the move to the new apartment, the fraudulent bait and switch tactic was fully identified by the apartment managers and their supervisors. Since the assistant manager who promised the hardwood floors for the early renewal was no longer with the company (there is frequent turnover), the clear verbal contract and commitment was no longer binding according to several levels of management. It was our problem. We could complain or sue them or not, but we have to stay and pay. Senior management within Capstone Real Estate Investments repeatedly refused to return any calls or do anything. It is an extremely frustrating and unacceptable situation. Beware of this complex and any complex associated with Capstone Real Estate Investments located in Alabama. read more

I would give no stars if I could. My daughter went to the front desk to rent a room for 1 month while her house was being repaired. She asked to see a room before she signed and paid. She was shown a clean, neat room so she signed all their 'rules' including no refund and they ran her credit card. She went to her room and it was filthy. The mattress had several big brown (urine?) stains on it the floor was dirty and the bathroom not clean. Back to the front desk. They give her another room. The mattress in this room had black spots that appeared to be mold, and numerous bugs in the room corners. Not to mention the lewd comments she received as she walked to the room. Needless to say she did not even stay one night and is out over $600.00. The management is really bad.
