This place was incredible! Our waitress was amazing--so sweet, attentive, and helpful. She timed every course perfectly, which made the entire dining experience feel seamless. We ordered several appetizers, and every one of them was phenomenal. The Caesar salad was beautifully presented in a Parmesan cup, making it just as fun to look at as it was to eat. The oysters were buttery, creamy, and absolutely delicious. When our waitress explained that the udon noodles and plate would be served cold while the salmon would be hot and crispy, I wasn't sure what to expect. It caught me off guard, but it ended up being an incredible combination. It was honestly the best salmon dish I've ever had. The restaurant was completely full, but they were kind enough to seat us outside. The weather was absolutely perfect, and I didn't feel like we missed out at all. We were in North Carolina recently, and met friends at this restaurant. It's important to note that the menu changes, and you're not likely to get the exact, same meal twice, but you can bet it's going to be good. This is not a vegan/vegetarian restaurant, but there are items on the menu for those who choose such dietary options. When we were there, there was a Risotto made with Faro that was very rich, and very tasty. There weren't many other options for us, so I am glad that this one was so good. The restaurant, itself, is very comfortable, the service is excellent, and both the wine list, and the beer list are long. I like that they had several "local" beer offerings, and the porter I had was perfect; as good as any I've had anywhere. Our waitress explained that it's because of the local water, filtered by the mountains. I believe it. I agree with all of the five star ratings, but I, myself, couldn't got five because of the predominantly "meat-oriented" menu. I do understand that any restaurant needs to appeal to its customer base, and I get the idea the veganism/vegetarianism isn't real big here in the mountains. I only say that so people with dietary restrictions will know ahead of time, but I do recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting the area. read more

Rude hostess who said the table she gave us right next to the kitchen was preassigned and would not give us another table even though there were many open. Each one apparently reserved for specific guests. Non accommodating and rude. Avoid if customer service is important to you. We left without eating. read more

Excellent Wine List! We had a nice Tempranillo from Rioja at a decent price! They always have a vegetarian option that they can Veganise. During our visit it was the cauliflower steak which was excellent. Such a nice combination of greens and veggies with a spectacular taste! The non Vegans at the table had what they described as an excellent steak and tasty shrimp. The menu changes almost monthly so there is always something fresh and new to try. It's very popular so make a reservation. We will be back for sure! read more

I had a phenomenal experience at Singletree. I ordered the tomato soup to start, which was the best soup I've had at a restaurant to date. For my main, I had the NY strip with puréed sweet potatoes and shallot-tossed green beans. It was a perfect medium rare, and all the flavors of the different components worked well together. The service was great -- we never had to wait for refills or new silverware, and our server was very friendly. The space is small, but luckily not too loud or cramped. read more

Oh my goodness -- hats off to Josh Weeks!!! Single Tree Restaurant absolutely WOWED us again!! The Caesar salad is to die for! Even when splitting it, they graciously bring out two separate Parmesan cheese bowls -- and trust me, you'll eat every single bite! For my entrée, I ordered the fish of the evening -- Atlantic swordfish -- and it was honestly one of the BEST I've ever had! Perfectly cooked, succulent, juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! My husband (who is tremendously picky and has eaten duck all over the world -- including China ) was in heaven! Thanks to our wonderful server's recommendation, his duck entrée was everything he dreams of -- tender inside, crispy on the outside, and bursting with flavor! He said it's now his go-to dish (and this is coming from a man who usually orders the pork chop! ) We are so thrilled to see how beautifully this restaurant has flourished -- we were among the very first patrons when they opened almost 4 years ago -- with founder and chef Josh Weeks -- and have been huge fans ever since! We chose this restaurant for our 28th anniversary dinner. It was our second time here and we were not disappointed With the dishes we chose. We really enjoyed all the food which was prepared and presented wonderfully. Josh owner chef has a definite talent. My only complaint was that the reservations asked if it was special occasion but no one acknowledged that it was our anniversary. A glass of wine or dessert would have been nice. read more

Last night I had red snapper that was served w a coconut rice -there was more but I unfortunately cannot describe this dish to a fair level other than to say it was by far my favorite dining experience in a long time. Like warm Parmesan was shaped and cooled and the salad went perfectly inside. Just can't say enough! Our experience was sublime! Sam, our server, was fantastic! She was welcoming and friendly and offered suggestions to our menu inquiries. When our meals arrived, you truly do "eat with your eyes", as the presentation was lovely! The flavor of our meal choices were equally delightful and spectacular. The place is cozy with a nice bar where you can eat as well, when it's busy or you forgot to make reservations. We managed to find a night that the tourists didn't know to eat there. Local beers, extensive wine list and quality liquor complement your meal. I had the chicken with seasonal vegetables. It was well prepared tasted great. The service was excellent, as it has been the other times that I've eaten there. The servers are familiar with all of the entrees. The manager is familiar with many of their wines. So, you can get some great suggestions when dining there. It is casual dining. However, you can come dressed up and you will not look out of place. No reservations. We sat at the bar. She had a house mezcal cocktail, which was balanced and nuanced. I had a Hendricks gin martini, up, dry, olives. Which was above any good bar or tavern. Very well executed. Ordered a bottle of white and a bottle of red. The gewurztraminer paired well with the salads and my wife's entree of orzo and ratatouille. The Jean Louis Chave was perfect with the beef. Had a trio of desserts, some coffee and digestives. All the food, drinks and wine were on the level of "big town", (Whatever that is). The kitchen timing was on point and the flavors were as well. Seasoned aggressively but with a very careful hand. Communication was clearly visible. They obviously have a cohesive front and back of house staff. Service at the bar was impeccable. The wonderfully funny lady behind the bar clearly had an ownership stake in the place. Or maybe, just maybe... the hospitality business can still produce quality craftsmanship. Kudos to those that are still fighting the good fight. Had a short visit at the bar with chef, who was affable and humble. He never even introduced himself as the chef. Again, very humble and inviting. We came to the valley with little expectations. However, I noticed that the menu on the website was not the current menu which made it hard to plan ahead for food allergies. The space is beautiful. Overall it's an elevated dining experience but the service was lacking a bit. Our server was very friendly but not attentive. At the time, the restaurant was about 40% occupied and seemed there was plenty of staff. It took 25 min after ordering for the food to arrive, and during this time, the server did not check on us and she forgot my beverage order - and my glass for water was empty until after I received my dish. read more

We love to support local small businesses and have been wanting to try Singletree out for a while. We went for lunch today, and honestly was a little shocked at the prices for the entrees. I got the Salisbury sandwich (Ruben) with gas station fries (Yukon gold potato wedges). It was good, but I would rather not of paid $17 for it. The waitress was great and very attentive. The Christmas decor was very minimal and added to the ambiance of the restaurant. It's a nice place but would not recommend for children or picky eaters. If the price was lower and maybe there was an option for people with young children it would get another star. It was nice but not somewhere I would run back to.
