Judging from all of the great reviews, I am going to chalk my experience up to coming in at the wrong time and flat out making a bad choice. I can see that others have had great experiences here (which is why I came here in the first place) but personally, my visit was not great and I will not be back. We recently moved and are no longer close to the children's hair salon that we normally visit. My son desperately needed a haircut so I went to my trusty Yelp app to find a decent place close to our house. We went in at 2 p.m. on Sunday and they were pretty busy with quite a few people waiting. I didn't really mind as most barbershops have a wait on the weekends no matter when you go. However, I find it annoying that there is no way to tell who is in front of you. Most places have a list and then as stylists become available, they call names from that list. Yesterday, one of the stylists was just trying to keep track of everyone herself. While my son and I were sitting there, a group of three teenagers came in and apparently, they had been in earlier and left so they ended up ahead of us and a few other guys in line. The stylist didn't communicate that to anyone, she just finished up the cut she was doing and called one of them over to her chair. Then later on, when one of the guys was kind of giving her the evil eye, she explained the situation. As more and more people came in and it got closer to their 4 p.m. closing time, one of the stylists started getting frustrated that people were still being allowed to come in and wait. He apparently wanted to leave right at 4 (understandably so) and the female stylist also needed to leave at 4 because she was going to the Bronco's game. I get it, no one wants to stay after closing time, but your customers don't need to hear that conversation. After about an hour, we were finally up for our cut. We got the guy who was frustrated about possibly not being able to leave on time and I could definitely tell he was stressed. I actually almost left rather than getting my son's hair cut but after waiting that long, I wanted to get it over with. My son is three and used to getting his hair cut but he usually moves around a bit when they use the electric clippers. I will give this guy the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure kids' cuts are not really his forte, so again, maybe this place wasn't the best choice for us. At one point though, he was taking deep breaths like he was trying to keep himself from screaming or something and actually said "Jesus Christ" out loud. I told him to forget about trimming with the electric clippers and just cut it with scissors and get it over with. He was a little nicer after that because I think he could tell that I wasn't very happy about his attitude but it still was not a great experience. I felt like it was a huge inconvenience for him to do the cut and hey, maybe it was. I may have felt better about it if the cut was good but I didn't even get that. I am glad that others have had great experiences here but we will definitely be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Haircut was poorly blended, I have nicks and cuts on my ear, and it took an hour. The person doing my cut seemed nervous, so she was probably new. Maybe coming in on a Sunday was a bad idea? There might be better barbers here, but I won't be back to find out. read more

I get my head shaved with a straight razor and my sons get their hair done with a typical barber cut. My Hair Looks Like One Of Those One Direction Guys LOL Maybe not like those One Direction guys...Maybe better!!!!!! LOL! I do think that Legends Barbershop is the best place I have found to get my haircut since moving to Denver. I was going to Super Cuts for $10, but I was never happy with the way it looked. Here I pay $20 but I get the look I really want and it is right across the street from my house!!!!! You will find this place next to Goodwill on Hampden and also next to The Bagel Delicatessen. When you walk in you can see that this place is a barber shop. No real decor, but just good cuts going on here. The guys are really friendly even though they do talk about sports a lot. I guess that is what you do in a barber shop LOL. I like that the guys here take their time cutting your hair and it is not a race to finish within ten minutes or so. That never makes me feel good. I work in DTC and was set on getting my hair cut on my lunch break. I had never been to Legends before, and was slightly worried about if I could get my hair cut and make it back in my 1hr time slot. ..I got back with time to spare. I walked in and was immediately welcomed and offered a chair, literally seconds after arriving. I explained to my barber, Vaughn, what I wanted with my hair. He understood completely, gave me exactly what I wanted, and I was out the door in around 30 minutes. Vaughn told me that he had been cutting hair for 32 years, and it shows. My hair looks better than ever, and to top it off, he used a straight razor on the back of my neck, and cleaned up face scruff.. for $20!!?? This is a steal. This is a pretty laid back neighborhood barber shop. My wait was about 15 minutes. My barber was very nice and willing to style my hair just to my liking. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because I thought it was overpriced. A men's haircut is $20. I have always been willing to pay about $14 to $16 for a haircut and then usually tip about $2, so you can pay for it all if you have a $20 bill. Finally! I found a place to get my haircut! Moved out to Parker 2 years ago from California with my family and I swear have tried every place within a 15 mile radius of my house. My son and I came in today and were both very happy with our cuts. Uncle Tony cut my sons hair and Andreas cut mine. We were in and out in less than am hour and could not be happier. They are very patient and always cut his hair exactly how I ask. And it always looks amazing. The prices are also very reasonable considering the outstanding service and excellent talent. So I came here to get a haircut after a year and a half of not cutting my hair so you can bet I was a little bit nervous and excited at the same time came to this barbershop with great reviews and I was welcomed by a gentleman who said he'd be able to help get me taken care of after I told him what I wanted. He then found that in his best interest. He hand me off to a different person to cut my hair because and I quote she'll do you better. And then proceeded to tell her and show her pictures and just explain to her what I would like in pretty good detail and she said no problem I can get it done five minutes in. I noticed this shit didn't look right. 10 minutes in I look like Eric off of that 70s show. And from there I told the chick that's fine and left while I still could. I'm going to be honest I would never come back here ever again in my life I think if this was the last barbershop on earth, I would just start cutting my own hair. I'll admit, I'm pretty high maintenance when it comes to my hair - it curls in the front, has a mind of its own and never looks as good as I want it. There I met Tim, sat in his chair and proceeded to tell him how I wanted my hair. I have many cowlicks, so my hair is difficult to cut. Tim took his time and did EXACTLY what I asked him to do. This isn't my normal shop, I am fairly new to the area and tend to stick to one place once I find a consistent barber that I like. The reason I checked out Legends was because I couldn't get into the place that I have been going to and had a meeting the next day. Needless to say I jumped on yelp and found Legends Barbershop. This place was a little harder to find, kind of tucked in a corner but its a cool spot. When I walked in and sat down no one approached me or said anything, it was unlike my other place but its okay. Once I was acknowledged I was help fairly quick, to put it into perspective I had an appointment at 5 and I was helped around 5:05. Not bad. The barber who cut my hair, Mike, is the owner and a rad dude. Knows what he is doing and has time in the job, you can tell by the quality of the cut. Asked me a lot of upfront questions to know exactly what I wanted and was very professional in doing so. I would highly recommend him. There was another barber there, Johnny, that dudes were lined up for so I would check out either of them. The price was good for the cut, pretty average but Mike hooked me up with the hair, I even got complimented to day. All in all I would recommend checking them out. I was not in a very good mood already walking out of a Sport Clips...I called Legends while waiting at previously mentioned establishment and asked how busy they were. Mike said 10 - 15 minutes...since the screen at the Sport Clips said 46 minutes again up for 20 since a hair cutter left, I figured I had little to lose. Waze got me to the general vicinity then wanted me to spin around 6 more times, get back on the highway, and smash into a tree but at least I found it. I walked in and no one said much...wasn't off to a great start. They did warm up to me in about 15 minutes. Luis asked what we were doing today. I told him what I wanted once and he did exactly what I said. One of the best haircuts I have ever had. High attention to detail and making sure no little hairs were missed. Best part, only $20. They also trim up beards or in my case, disgusting errant ear hair. The owner even gave me some restaurants to try out. Just go, you won't be disappointed. They make appointments too.
