After work with friends turned into "why did we choose Legends instead of Union House?" The whole restaurant side was empty when we sat down but one couple arrived shortly after us. Luckily we were chatting and didn't mind the initial delay in getting menus and drinks. Then we noticed the other couple getting their orders taken before us. We shrugged it off. We were still sort of ok with it but wait staff did not come over to us and we continued to wait. Seemed like the wait time was getting excessive. Wait staff seemed pleasant enough but distracted when taking our orders. I wondered if she was handling bar, restaurant and cooking. After even further significant wait, finally one dish came out. Then we waited and a second dish came out. A further wait and the third dish came (all appetizers) The other couple was done with their food by now. We heard good things about these nachos, but they were not great. They came on a bed of something crispy. No wait! That's not something crispy - it is hardened dried out burnt cheese - the cheese that is supposed to be melty and gooey goodness! It appeared that our nachos deluxe sat in a warmer for an awful long time. The funnel cake fries tasted like they were cooked in old or expired oil. It wasn't until the bill came, we saw that instead of getting Grey Goose as requested, the lesser brand Ketel One was substituted. All I can say is I'm glad my companions were a lot of fun because the food and wait was not. read more

Surprised at some of the other reviews around the owner and service as we always enjoy interacting with both. My only knock on the joint is how long it takes to get your order, regardless of number of patrons. It's all made to order but still takes awhile longer than you'd think. I was here during the arts festival, the menu looked very appetizing. I ordered the mac and cheese bites and a salad. I was with 5 other people and the restaurant had a good crowd, not mobbed though. Although the staff were friendly and the drinks and food were great, i noticed that my mac and cheese bites tasted exactly like Kraft macaroni and cheese. I know, and have worked at, some restaurants that use boxed goods on their menus, but I personally did not think they were worth $9. I tried the fried green tomatoes, wings, pizza, all were delicious! Unfortunately service was very slow. At one point I went to the bathroom and on my way i saw my server carrying one of our apps and just chatting with people at the bar. It was a couple more minutes before they made it to our table. All flaws aside, this place has delicious food, friendly staff, and a chill vibe. I would come back on a less crowded day for lunch. read more

Me and my husband moved into the area from out of state for military and came to Legends, the first time was good and the bartender was nice, made us feel welcome and told us to come back and visit again since we were living so close.... We came a second time today and he (the same bartender) wouldn't take our out-of-state ID.. how does that work?? He refused to talk with us and instead said "what the hell are you doing in New Jersey" and "I'm not going to have this argument you can leave" when all I did was ask why they don't take out-of-state IDs or if it was just some problem he had with us.. he seemed drunk or something because it was the most confusing and unproductive conversation I have ever had read more

A huge disappointment! In a completely empty restaurant, our party ordered two appetizers, two pizzas and two sandwiches, and it took almost an hour for the food to come out (pro tip, order sandwiches not pizza for quality and flavor). Drink menus were not up to date, it was difficult to get what we needed (water, etc). Went for takeout on 6.30.20. Not so great. I ordered 3 sandwiches, with fries, bruschetta and a side of sweet potato fries. There was some confusion with the order as they charged me for two cheesesteaks and I only ordered one. I ordered a half sandwich for one of the orders and they charged and gave me a whole. The fries were loaded when they arrived, with bacon and cheese, which I didnt order, and my vegetarian daughter could not eat. The food was not good. Cheesesteak was dry (I had to put olive oil on it), and the roll was much to soft for any place near Philly. My wife and daughter did not like theirs either. Oh, and we had to wait 45 minutes for 3 sandwiches. The pizza did look good, but our experience was not pleasant at all. I wont be returning. read more

Upon walking in we were greeting by a drunk of a bartender who was too incompetent to realize there are 49 other states other than New Jersey. We attempted to order drinks when he insisted to not have an argument about having an out of state ID (shows how poorly he was trained to notice a fake ID from real). The soused bartender was too incompetent to realize people can move across borders to another state so the concept of having an out of state ID was very foreign. If you feel like keeping your children in New Jerseys public education system, I recommend transferring your kids somewhere else. The reflection of how poor the education system is here is shown through the workers of local restaurants. Try harder and maybe you will understand common knowledge. As the owner, if you read this, because I know you'll be curious on why you got a 1 star review; train your employees better and maybe your subpar service won't be exposed through a mediocre bartender who struggles to have a conversation without slurring his words. As a customer, if you tested well during standardized tests, coming here will be an ego boost because you will have to have a 3rd grade level geography argument the second you walk through the door frame. Additionally, you will definitely feel accomplished because the bartender has the literacy of a 4 year old that is colorblind who is trying to tell you yellow is red. read more

Most of the stars I give them are for their bar, which is super cheap and my favorite bar in Burlington. Once my boyfriend and I got four drinks for 8 bucks. That's simply amazing. Plus their outside seating is very pleasant, even if their indoor bar is a bit cramped. The pizza is completely meh. I was not impressed. Though I did get a slice, not a pie, and those are two different experiences. Still, it's relatively cheap for a slice ($1.75 if I'm not mistaken) but I don't think I'll ever get it again despite that. Go for the drinks. Skip the food. read more

Omg the salads are so tasty, fresh, NEW, exotic! So far I've tried the Ziggy salad and the Cleopatra salad. They're delicious. I planned on trying the various other salads. The Pizza is ALSO different and delicious. I had the Cheech and Chong Pizza - Seasoned ground beef, jalapeños, bruschetta, corn chips, mozzarella and cheddar cheese. The wings were tasty, fried extra crispy per request and were priced at $10 for 10 wings. Even though they advertise "gourmet" pizzas and offer numerous options, based on a lukewarm recommend I opted for the build your own. The pizza was excellent, the sauce was tasty, the cheese and toppings were good. The pizza crust was also good. I picked up my food on Saturday night, and they had "live music" playing that was not enticing enough for me to want to dine in on the nights its offered. I have come to legends several times, sat outside and ate my food. I am able to park my car right next to me, put the windows all the way down and have my pup right next to me outside. In all the times ive been here i have NEVER had the owner ask how my food was, if i was enjoying the place or anything and today, pup was barking a bit and he asked me to "ask your dog to stop barking".... What kind of idiot thinks u can ask a dog not to bark?.... Its a shame... I've been here exactly once, and it was literally the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Impressive. We sat outside and didn't see a waitress for about ten minutes, no exaggeration. She took forever bringing us our drinks and the wait for food was about twenty minutes--again, no exaggeration. When she brought my food, it was covered in cheese despite me asking for no cheese, so I had to send it back. I figured it would take about fifteen minutes since the service was so slow. Boy was I wrong! After ten whole minutes, the waitress came to tell me she had finally put in the order. A full thirty minutes later, my food was still not done (just a pita pizza with no cheese--how on earth could that take more than five minutes to cook?) and my partner had already finished eating, despite waiting a few minutes to be polite. It had been a full hour since we arrived and I still didn't have food. Meanwhile, our drinks were long since empty, but the absentee waitress was no where to be found. The whole time, all of the other tables outside were being helped by a different waitress, and people who arrived after us were taken care of long before we were. Notably, those other tables all seemed to be regulars or friends of the employees. I guess you have to know people to get served here. Once it hit the hour mark and there was no food to be found, we went inside to just pay for the one meal and go find food elsewhere. They couldn't even do this correctly. The manager asked us what happened, and when we explained we had been waiting for an hour, he told us that that was just how the restaurant business worked and told us he wouldn't expect us to understand. I'm very proud of myself for not screaming at him for calling me stupid, and I'm stunned that I managed not to lose my temper. Then he offered us a 10% coupon for our next visit, and I assured him that would not be necessary. Then he told the finally present waitress not to charge us anything and we left, infuriated, insulted, and in my case, hungry. My partner tells me that the food he got was about mediocre. The food is great and there are now beers on tap -- cuz, really... who wants pizza without beer? Being a nothern NJ transplant, the pizzas are as good as I've found in southern NJ so far. The selection of toppings can't be beat. If you're a salad person, what you can order from this place is limited only by your imagination... there are well over 50 toppings to choose from (same as the pizza!). Being completely unoriginal I go for the "Marley" which has applewood smoked bacon on it. Yum. The only reason this isn't a "5-star" is that it is a little pricey for pizza but it is gourmet pizza and worth it for a treat. read more

Even the patrons outside were having to come in while the waitress did nothing. The gourmet pizza was mediocre and came out burnt. The bar itself was dirty and place ran out of a few different beers. Yes ran out. The on tap was very limited as well. The place looks really cool and they have some interesting toppings but if you're gonna burn the pizza it doesn't matter much what you put on it it's still gonna be burnt pizza. We ordered our food through DoorDash and it took close to an hour and a half to be delivered. Wasn't door dashes fault, our driver was there within 10 minutes. We also live 8 minutes from this spot. The pizza was the worst I have ever had. Hardly any cheese, terrible sauce and way too thin (and I usually like thin pizza). It honestly tasted like a frozen pizza that wasn't cooked all the way. Stopped in to Legends Tap in Historic Burlington on a Friday after work with the wife to sample some Gourmet pizza and have a few brews. Sam Adams Octoberfest on tap and special @ $3.25 a glass was our choice. Ordered up some garlic bread as a appetizer while we looked over the menu for our choice of a medium Margarita pizza with red sauce, Basil and mozzarella cheese. We also added Ricotta cheese for a different flavor. As usual we sat at the bar. Brews were cold and flavorful. Garlic bread was served with a red sauce the was perfect for dipping and was very tasty. Our pizza came out after a normal cooking time and was also very tasty with a thin crust. Service was good and it seemed that lots of regulars come in. This was our third visit over two years and I can say I'm pleased. They also have outdoor seating with a chiminea that certainly adds to the atmosphere. Will definitely return. read more

I do admit that the service used to be much better. One of our last trips there, the waitress took our order, gave us our order and then sat on her phone by the register the rest of the night. My husband had to get up and ask for a refill because she completely forgot about us. That was probably the worst service experience we've had here and quite frankly, so worth the food! I am not as big a pizza person as my husband but you will NEVER catch me turning down Legends, ever! This place has a really great selection of sandwiches and pizzas, particularly for vegetarians. They chop up 50+ fresh ingredients daily, and are priced very reasonably. You can even get wine or beer to go with your pie if thats your thing. We were there on a very quiet afternoon - I'm digging the church pew seating - but while we were the only ones eating inside, quite a few people popped their heads in for takeout. The pay when you order then take your seat part wasn't expected, as it looks like the type of place that would have servers. Overall, I would def go there again because my panini was A+. read more

While I have only been here a few times I can not say that I was ever really wowed. Each time someone else paid so I never really got to take a good look at the bill. Everyone seemed friendly enough however the service seemed a little on the slow side. My food was very mediocre. I am not a huge fan of weird things on pizza but I do love trying different veggies however each one I tried tasted like it had freezer burn or was at least frozen at one point. The only other time I went there was with some friends who are regulars. We had better service during the few hours we sat at the bar then I had any other time.
