I really enjoy Legends for lunch. I love the mozzarella cheese sticks, the french onion soups, the salads with homemade dressings ( love the thousand island) and the super cheap meat & two that is filling and good. My absolute favorite here is the strawberry cake, served warm...absolutely melt in your mouth frosting and little piece of strawberry in the cake batter. My husband got me a whole cake of it for my birthday and it was amazing. I like their barbecue sauce...love to get the filet mignon and dip it in the sauce. The potato casserole is good, the fried okra is great, I enjoy some of the other sides as well. For dinner it is expensive for my family of 7. In Columbia, it's a good date night. The staff is about half and half...we have had some amazing wait staff here and a few who could work on their customer service skills. read more

Wow. So used to be a regular here but they don't seem to understand that people plan around the hours that they post. If you say on your page and on your door that you are open to certain hour, then you really need to be open. Other places for me to spend my money. Went again specifically for the prime rib. On a 10 scale I give it a 5. Got the 10oz which was thin. Perhaps larger portion is cut thicker. I've usually gotten inch thick which makes for a more tender cut. Service was ok but slow and waitress never came back to the table until it was to bring the bill. Me and my kids are there this past Saturday night for my youngest daughter senior prom. I order smothered chicken and it was the worst meal I've had in months. No seasoning not even salt I mean I tried to put salt on it at the table I tried barbecue sauce I tried everything to give that some flavor and it was disgusting. I knew there was a reason why I quit eating at Legends now I know why and now I remember why. And it will be a long time before I would even think of eating there again. This makes the third time I've tried eating at Legends and got Bland tasteless food. I personally do not see how they stay open if they can send you serve food like that. This place is your run of the mill steak house. The food is pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I usually order the salmon Orleans or grilled salmon, and the salmon is almost always over cooked. I've been there with a steak eating friend who order hers medium and it ended up being pretty well done. I will give the spinach casserole and the sweet potato a two thumbs up, though. Great lunch specials! I love stopping here for lunch. My favorite days are Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday's lunch special is their Smoky Mountain meatloaf with two vegetables. I don't usually like anyone else's meatloaf but this is really good. It has a very unique flavor. Thursday's lunch special is fried pork chops with two vegetables and they are perfectly cooked every time. You can get these lunch specials for $5.99. What a deal! The service is always great. We are usually able to get in and out in an hour as long as everyone orders from the lunch menu. read more

The wait was not an issue considering restaurants are short staffed. But once seated the server walked by our table 4 times. On the fifth trip he stopped and said oh I didn't see you. Since it's a 2 person booth and he stopped at the table right next to us I find that a little hard to believe. Right off the bat we were greeted by the hosts up front, they told us it'd be about a 35 minute wait so we told them we were just going to look for a seat at the bar. One of them laughed and said "have a good night". We decided to just ignore it because we wouldn't see him the rest of the night anyways. Then we sit for 5 minutes before our waitress asks us what we want to drink. She brings the drinks back and then doesn't ask us what we want to eat, appetizers, anything. So finally she comes back about 5 minutes later and asks what we want to eat so we ordered apps and our meals at the same time. It took 55 minutes to heat our food and there was probably 20 tables open throughout the whole place. The waitress didn't explain the wait, offer us more drinks, nothing. When we finally got our food 3/4 meals were awful. Our waitress was also awful. We have been here 3 times and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had and might've been my worst experience I have had ever at a restaurant period. What can I say the reason for only 3 stars was my waitress. Either she was new or she had not slowed down from the evening rush. I will give her the benefit of doubt. And go with she was new, She was polite and eager. Just a little to eager. I felt like I was being rushed. Eating alone I use the time to check emails, news etc. The manager I do believe was busy walking through restaurant . The unfortunate part was he was communicating with staff about what needs to be done. Not time or place. Although this won't stop me from eating here. Food was alright. Well I am kind of shocked to see all these bad reviews on here as my husband and I just moved to Columbia and was needing a "good steak" so tried this place and was very happy with the food and the service. I do not understand all the low reviews. My wife and I eat lunch there quite often. You can't beat the quality of the food and the service is always above average. Hopeful I'd have a good, even decent steak dinner. After all, they're a steakhouse and how hard is it to grill a medium rare ribeye? Told my server my pepper grinder didn't work when I was trying to pepper my wedge salad. That was truly the only good thing about the dinner besides my Pinot. Of course, it would have been much better with pepper. She brought me another grinder. Tried to use on my steak and baked potato and I swear she brought back the same broken grinder. When she checks in, moments after my steak was delivered by someone else, I tell her this grinder is broken, too. She says, "yea, they suck". Surely there's at least one working pepper grinder in a steakhouse?? The guy who dropped off the steak asked if I needed anything and I asked for steak sauce. I usually just have one or two bites with my restaurant because I like the beef to shine alone. This steak needed help. First, it was cooked past medium rare. Second, something other than just salt and pepper seasoned it. That something was off putting. Also, the prices on my check were different than the prices on the menu. When I arrived 20 min later, they didn't have the order correct and hadn't even started the entrees. Then they tried to charge me for a salad that came with one of the entrees. This is not my first time at Legends, but it may be my last. I came with my father, who uses a walker. He went in first, and the host barked at him " how many?" Sat for 15 min in their parking lot writing this review now, and still hasn't come out. The server was not sociable or friendly to me but was to other tables around; perhaps they're regulars. As an out-of-town guest, I was not the least bit impressed with her service. I've eaten at a number of other steakhouse type places, including many of the national franchise chains. I went to Legends on the recommendation of the hotel front desk, but I regret it. I should have stayed with Logans in Spring Hill. It would have been much much better. My steak was awful. The thing tasted like it had been marinated in ketchup for two days before it was cooked. I suspect they don't clean the grill and probably slather their ribs with some kind of ketchup based sauce, or that they use that same sauce to get sear on the steaks. Tasted horrible. I choked it back and quickly got out of there. If you want comparatives, here's where I've had steak before, from the top-shelf places on down to the run-of-the-mill: -Ruth Chris -Flemings -Texas Roadhouse -Outback -Lone Star -Logans ANY of those serves a better tasting, higher quality cut of meat than Legends. Stick with Logans in Spring Hill nearby--you'll be glad you did. read more

In town for work. Food is great..service not so much! Our server didn't know if Cabernet was white or red and didn't know which beers were dark vs. Light when asked for a recommendation. One water and one tea were brought out quickly but took 5-10 minutes for alcoholic beverages. I had the Cajun salmon with a shrimp skewer ... Here visiting my dad from Texas and I try to order a beer and they told me my ID was fake. I asked them to black light it and compared my girlfriends ID (she has a Texas ID too) but they didn't have a black light and apparently didn't scan my ID. The manager couldn't give me any other reason that my ID was being declined other than "it doesn't look real". It wasn't worth me making a scene as I was with my family but if you're going here from out of state don't bank on them serving you alcohol because apparently they think every ID from every state looks like a Tennessee ID. Probably won't be going back due to the managers ignorance. By the way if you suspect a minor trying to buy alcohol with a fake ID I'm pretty sure you're supposed to notify the police. Do not expect fast, good or respectable service at this place. The hostesses can only stand there while tables need to be cleaned to sit anyone. The management is apparently invisible, doesn't care or nonexistent. We were told a 25 minute wait and 45 minutes later were taken back twice to find that tables were not ready. My three children were getting restless and hungry while people that came in after us were seated as we returned from our second trip to find a dirty table.
