I purchased a Swim Spa from Leisure Works and took delivery at the end of October 2020. At 33k, this was the most expensive purchase I have ever made next to my home. The swim spa has been plagued with problems since I bought it. I am on my eighth swim controller panel at the time of this writing, and it still doesn't work. Master Spa keeps working on it, and sending me new ones, so I have been hoping that issue will get resolved eventually. The bigger issue I have is the cover that was installed. I paid an extra $3000 dollars to get the top-of-the-line cover which rolls up instead of two covers with lifts on each end. When Leisure Works installed the cover, they installed a supporting shelf that was incompatible with the cover, and it prevented the cover from being fastened on one end. The manual clearly states that a shelf must be used, so the cover doesn't fall to the ground, but when I complained to Leisure Works about the installation, they said the shelf they supplied was better than the one Master Spa recommends. After six months the cover started tearing because of the shelf, and again I complained and asked Leisure Works to fix it. Kreg, the service manager, responded that they couldn't fix it because it wasn't a warranty issue and that I should stop using the shelf. He then suggested that I build a shelf out of wood for it. I told him that was an unacceptable response, but he stopped responding to my emails for over 6 months. After complaining about Leisure Works to the manufacturer repeatedly and finally posting a video on YouTube, I started getting responses again, but still no help. Instead, Kreg was condescending and refused to take any responsibility for the issues with the cover. At one point he even said of the installation that there was no right or wrong about the way the shelf was installed, it's just a personal preference. When I showed him pictures that clearly showed he was wrong, he just said all the back and forth was unproductive, and I should take an offered lower-end cover from the manufacturer with no lifts, and then he went silent again. If the situation requires anything from Leisure Works, they are unwilling to make any effort at all at resolving the issue. Dealing with Leisure Works has been the worst customer experience of my entire life. The fact that Master Spa allows this type of behavior from their authorized dealers makes me question them as a company as well. I would highly recommend avoiding Leisure Works at all costs.

He seems to claim several names, Jeffery Anderson at times. Probably both fake. He said that we needed a new heater. So I paid him in advance for the heater as well as for that days service call. He subsequently blew off TWO following appointments without calling to let me know why or when he would actually be back to install the heater I paid for. So on top of everything else this cost me, I lost two days pay waiting at home for him for no good reason. He surely could have picked up the phone to release me from this unnecessary waiting game but chose to leave me hanging interminably instead. All this time I had space heaters on my tub, hoping it did not freeze up which would destroy it. When he finally did show up to install the heater, I had told him in advance not to wake me up until he had the job done. When he woke me up he told me that I owed $355.00 for that days labor. I trusted it was true and paid him as I had not idea how long he had been working. Later, I checked my security cams and discovered that it took him under 30 minutes. Since when do hot tub techs make $700 per hour? Knowing that this is an unreasonable amount to pay for hot tub service I contacted the store. Charlie the owner of the store, who had previously told me that he had personally trained the technician to work for him, told me that he was not responsible for what I was charged and it was none of his business! Really? So, even though the tech was trained at the store, and sent to me by the store, they claim to be...not responsible? That about sums it up. Avoid!

No matter the time of year I love visiting Downtown Home & Garden. My previous review stated, "I love any store where I can get tulip bulbs, a new bird house, a winter hat shaped like a Christmas tree, a new cookie sheet and a loaf of Zingerman's bread" and all that still rings true. But these days I also add national parks merch, gear for my dogs, holiday decor, kitchen gadgets and cookbooks and, perhaps most exciting for a Polish broad like myself, a variety of Polish pottery pieces. In the spring and summer months I can be found perusing peony bulbs for my garden, hummingbird feeders, bird seed and squirrel proof bird feeders, planters, plants/starters for my veggie garden, pest control and fertilizers, plus a variety of lawn decor and sculpture pieces, etc. Some things can be kind of pricey but you truly get what you pay for. Even after years out in the elements everything I've bought for my yard here is still in amazing condition, my plants from here always yield the most delicious fruits and veggies, and the little birdies are so happy with the snacks we provide them from their bins.

Interesting store that is probably really good if you're a suburban homeowner.
