I am looking to buy a new 2020 Jeep, but after seeing these reviews about Leith Jeep I will not be going to Leith.

I have been researching Jeep Gladiators for a while and came across an out of state dealership that prices very aggressively. Upon getting their price quotes in writing, I wanted to check with my local dealerships to see if they could come close, meet, or beat the out of state dealership. I contacted a salesperson at Leith who seemed nice enough, I explained the situation with full disclosure and emailed him the pdf of the build from the Jeep website, along with the pricing from the out of state dealership along with their itemized pricing sheet showing MSRP for my specific build. I explained that I wanted to give them a chance as I'd prefer purchase locally but ultimately, I would do what was in my best interest. I received a text later in the day stating that they would honor a discount that I am entitled to for membership in a program that Jeep honors, and that was it...No price. I called the salesperson to talk through this and get more info and was met with a lot of nonsense and circular talk. I explained that I am going to order a Jeep this week and the salesperson became excited and said that he had to speak to his manager again. I received a call back shortly and was basically told the same thing. They wouldn't be able to order anything without my membership # and that there is a non-refundable deposit to which I explained that I understood. I just want the out-the-door price. What is the cost of the Jeep, ALL IN? How much will the check I have to write be made out for? He refused to give me the number. He made referenced to the other dealership being crazy and if I wanted to drive 8 hours to pick it up then have at it. I tried one last time to get a number out of him. He asked why I even needed it if the other dealership was willing to offer me something crazy. I hung up. If they couldn't match the price just say so! At the end of the day if they came within $1000-$1200 I probably would have ordered with them but they wouldn't even tell me what it was. Looking at the other reviews, it doesn't surprise me. In retrospect, had they come close to the other dealership and I went with Leith, I don't have much faith that they would have honored their end of the deal. This is a review for the service dept. Brought my Jeep in for routine service. Service rep came back with a long list of repairs and maintenance totally several thousand $. I was suspicious and so took it to a trusted mechanic I use with other cars for a second opinion. This mechanic said repairs were not needed. Left me with a distrust of the Service Dept as up selling unnecessary work. Perhaps two mechanics can reach different conclusions but beware. For me, I will seek a different Jeep dealership if I need dealer service. read more

I just purchased a 2014 Jeep Compass Latitude this weekend. This was my first experience ever buying a brand new car so I was expecting all of the normal horror stories walking in to the dealership (pressure to buy a car, high prices, pushy sales associates and the feeling of being overwhelmed). Sean was my sales associate and did a great job of making sure he helped me find the exact Jeep I wanted. He eliminated all the feelings of anxiety I had. He was very nice and easy to work with. He did not pressure me into anything and even made my two car trade ins work! I even lost my title for one of my trade in car and they worked with me to help me get everything figured out! We went back and forth on the final price of the vehicle (as expected) but overall I am completely happy with my experience. All of the staff was friendly and great to work with! I took my car to the Leith Jeep Chrysler dealer on Capital Blvd. on Friday May 12, 2017 for the analysis and repair of the cause of the check engine light being on. I dropped off my car at the dealership around 9:00 am because the check engine light came on and the car would shut off on its own. At around 3 pm same day the service manager Jay Peters called and said it was the Crank Sensor needing replacement and based on the cost he quoted ($270 parts & Labor) I approved the repair. He called 1 hour later and said that the bad sensor has caused damage to one coil and that he will contact me when they figure which one. I did not hear anything else rest of that day. The next day I call to find out Jay peters and the mechanic that worked on my car are both off duty and my car needs to be kept at the dealer over the weekend and on Monday. After complaining that I have to go to work on Monday another manager offers a loaner vehicle so I go and pick one up. On Monday I leave two messages for Jay Peters and one for his manager Bill Lewis. I get no returned calls from either one. Tuesday mid-day Jay Peters finally calls and says my car needs a new computer (quotes $1000 for the part and around $500 for labor) and no mention of the coil issue or anything else. So already having trust issues, I ask him to put my car together the way it was and I will pick it up. Wednesday morning I pick up my car and notice my stereo is not working. I take it back to the shop and Jay Peters acting all surprised takes the car back into the shop. One hour later the car is brought out and my keys are returned so I get in and the stereo is still not working. When I approach Jay Peters again he claims that the Radio has been the cause of all the issues I been having and that since it is not an original equipment and after-market stereo (Kenwood) they don't take responsibility for its damage. I speak to the manager Bill Lewis and he takes the same position so I leave with my car. I have been driving my car without the suggested computer repair ($1500 estimate) for a week now with absolutely no problems. I believe the dealership is responsible to refund me for the cost of my stereo ($200) plus installation ($50) as my unit worked when I took the car in. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Took my 2017 Wrangler in for a roof leak. Was told it needed a "total seal replacement " and would cost just under $1000. This supposedly included seals of the windshield and firewall, based on my service advisors explanation. I figured ok, I certainly have no idea how to do all that myself, so I said go ahead. Went to pick up the vehicle, and paid for the work. Upon the jeep being brought to me, I noticed that the work done was actually only replacing the seals on the Freedom Top. This is a $60 part, that I definitely could have done myself. I questioned this immediately, a tech came up, laughed I'm my face, and said that the $750 in labor was to check for the leaks!!!! The service advisor told me they test for leaks by letting it sit out in the rain. Over 20 calls to the shop with no explanation from the service or general managers. BEWARE. I can't speak to sales but can speak to service department... These guys are basically looking to take you for as much as they can whether you need it or not and are not honest or capable mechanics. At 60k service they tried multiple times to insist that I needed to do an item that I know full well only comes due at 120k; you guessed it, it's a big ticket item. Claimed total ignorance about a factory (Chrysler/Mopar) service plan purchased new with the vehicle in 2015... you get the picture. If you have any after market equipment (say a light) they will blame the equipment without carrying out any logical investigation of the fault, charge you for failure to diagnose a clear fault and refuse to discuss their findings "well I don't know anything about that" is the stock answer. I hate to say anything negative about anyone, but for the benefit of my neighbors... go somewhere else, anywhere else. They lost a customer and potential $40k new car sale today. read more

Leith Chrysler Jeep has a long way to go regarding improvements. I have been dealing with them since 2013 and between personally purchasing cars and bringing in recommendations of family and friends to purchase, it has been well over 12 vehicles purchased. You may be asking why keep going back if you keep having issues-and that is a great question. Each time, I am guaranteed things and experiences will change. The first thing you will notice is the lack of return calls/texts/messages that you will not receive, which is very frustrating given they want to act like you are their priority customer given all of the purchases and referrals that I have made. You will have to wheel and deal just like any other car dealership, but expect comments from the sales manager to be "Do you want me to show you out the door and how to get to Leith Honda" (but they have been through customer service trainings being priority per their recent posts, which is a joke). The past 3 brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee's Overland/High Altitudes have all come with issues (door locks not working, window not working, something in the engine not being plugged in). Additionally, my best friend bought a brand new Jeep Cherokee Overland and could have been involved in a serious accident given that the car's engine/transmission wasn't all "plugged in" so her car would not go over 20 mph on 540 and surrounding highways. She has had to take this Jeep back to Leith Jeep's service THREE times in a span of several months and basically been made out to feel like she is an idiot because nothing is wrong with her Jeep (after a month of having it, they finally found 2 major issues) and it is there 2 months later as we speak because the transmission is basically slipping and "they don't feel it." My Mom came from out of state to pick up her new Jeep that we had completed a deal on only to find out that they sold that Jeep and would have to find another one. I grew up in a family that owned a car dealership, and you will be truly mistaken to trust these individuals to sell you a vehicle or service your vehicle. They act as if they are going to "take care of you", but I have been nothing more than embarrassed when my friends, family, and myself have dealt with this dealership. Do yourself a large favor and buy elsewhere. Additionally, they like to comment under complaint posts that a manager will reach out to you and resolve this-that is not what happens, so do not expect follow through. read more

I recently purchased a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon from here and I had a really bad experience following the purchase of the vehicle so wanted to share with others. My actual purchase experience was rather painless. There was the typical back and forth in negotiating a price but ultimately we came to an agreement. The agreement was that Leith would take my trade in which was a Ford Explorer, and make the last payment and return it to Ford in the next 45 days before the truck was due at the end of its lease. The sales contract I signed has this scribed in ink and as such I left with confidence that Leith would make my last payment and return the vehicle. We'll come back to that in a second.. 1 week after enjoying my wrangler I decided to take the t-tops off and to my surprise noticed the frame where it is screwed in was cracked. I took some pictures and sent them to my dealer contact. They said to bring it by for a look. They informed me they'd need to reach out to Chrysler to determine if this would be covered by Warranty. My expectation was that I just bought a brand new vehicle and the hard top has a crack in it and I would it expect it to be replaced. I would have expected a new 45k vehicle to be new and without defect. Not really asking for much I don't think.. That being said, I acknowledged that Leith would need to reach out to Chrysler and this should take a few days. For 2 months I followed up weekly and received answers such as "we don't know yet" and "we haven't heard back." Finally, after 2 months on one of my regular checks I received a response that Chrysler would not cover it and that I should talk to the service manager. (Billy Lewis) I was given his number. I've emailed him, called him and left messages several times (he never picks up the phone) and I have yet to receive a response. 2 months.. no fix.. no contact.. obvious nobody cares. Here's where it gets better. I took for granted this entire time that my final payment was sent in to Ford, and that my traded in truck would have been returned per the agreement we made. I begin receiving phone calls from Ford telling me that my truck is overdue as it hasn't been returned, and that my last payment was 60 days late and they've submitted to the credit agency. So, back on the phone with my sales person and manager who in an instant tell me "There's no way thats true.. we sold that truck weeks ago and surely sent in payment!" So now I get confused because I said if you sold it, you certainly didn't provide a title because I'm looking at the Ford web account, and on the phone with them now who are telling me there's been no vehicle pay off, and no last payment. And here's my credit report with the late payment. After a few days of continuous follow up I finally receive a phone call from the Finance manager who tells me they are returning my truck TODAY, and sending in the final payment TODAY. 3 months after I bought the truck. and 2 months after my trade and payment were due with Ford. So - not only did I purchase a damaged new vehicle which nobody seems to care about I get to be blessed with the long giving gift of the ding on my credit report and the hassle of trying to prove with the credit agencies how this was Leith's fault and not mine. read more

Honestly this place doesn't even deserve one star. I brought my car in for a oil sensor replacement and while I was there I was told there was a recall on my car for the ignition switch which they offered to fix. They kept my car for a day or two and then notified me when it was ready. When I went to pick up my car the service man brought my car from the parking lot and told me to have a good day, while he was getting out of my car I noticed a huge piece of plastic missing from the side of my dash. When I asked the man about it he acted like it was the first time he had seen it which is ridiculous because it's impossible to miss, however he told me he would go inside and ask the man who worked on my car if he knew where it was, but while he was gone he asked me to look in the backseat cause it could possibly be there? He came back and told me that the man had left for the day but they would call me the next day and let me know if they found it and if not they would replace it for me. Well the next day came and they never called me, which is unprofessional. So the day after that I called them and was told that they didn't find the piece but had ordered a replacement, which was suppose to arrive the following Wednesday. Wednesday came around and I didn't hear from them and figured I'd give them a few days just incase the mail was slow or something. That Saturday I called and was told it still hadn't arrived but they would call me when it came in. Well a week passed and still no word from them. So I called yesterday and was told that the person who worked on my car never even removed that piece from my vehicle, and that Jeep didn't even make that piece anymore so they had no way to order me a new one.. Well wait cause I thought they had order one a few weeks ago??? So obviously they're liars. My father is now in the process of talking with the general manager to see if they will replace the part they lost and apparently "don't make" anymore. If you need to get something done to your car I recommend letting a five year old do it before bringing it here. They have poor communication skills and are EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. read more

Purchase process was O.K., traded in a 2 year old vehicle and was lo-balled on trade. Looked up the car value on line at several sites and at 1st they offered below lowest suggested trade value. The explanation was they use a special dealership only evaluation site, there was no give. Sales general manager was a little patronizing with his service, the rest of the sales staff was very nice and professional. If it was not for the value of the vehicle I was looking at, I probably would not go back. I was able to get better financing outside the dealership as well. Turned in a car that was show room ready, complete with brand new set of tires and complete set of receipts for all scheduled services and tires. I felt I was taken advantage of in trade process, and dealership was flippant about the process that part of the agonizing process. read more

I had the best experience purchasing my 2017 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 75th Edition. The previous day I went to a not so great dealership that was not willing to work with me. I worked with Kristy (Manager) and Jeff; they both gave me an amazing deal. I walked in, told them what I needed and they gave me exactly that. Walked in to look at and buy a Jeep... while the new sales associate was extremely knowledgeable about Jeeps the trade in process was cumbersome. A total of three people took my Cadillac for a test drive, asked me so many questions about it then REFUSED to give me my keys back when they low balled me on the trade in offer price. Disgusting! It was the manager named Coy who held my keys and tried to blame the sales associate for not helping me. The really funny part is that the receptionist at the front desk had Coys managers phone number memorized when I asked her to provide it to me and she didn't even look when I asked for his name she knew exactly who I was talking about and who the issue was with.... terrible management team! Luckily I went to another dealership and was able to buy exactly what I wanted for the price and a fair trade in value. Don't waste your time here. read more

The Leith services department does not do the work they claim to, I went to Leith service department and was told by a service tech my car was fine and my car is just noisy because the type of tire I have on my car is loud, when I went back 3 weeks later I was told my tires are wearing wrong and that's why the car is noise, how could it be such a change in what they saw in 3week. I told the service techs and manager I believe there must be something wrong with the Jeep to cause this change in 3 weeks but they insist the tires was like that when the car was serviced 3 week before but they forget to tell me, so leith is not doing the service they say they are doing Don't take your car there for any thing they might just forget to service it and say they did and when you come back they will explain why they didn't. This is the worst experience I have ever had I have been given the wrong info about service on my Jeep, then They blamed me for neglecting to maintain the car with less then 30,000miles that I have only had for a few months, and the service manager was rude to me and couldnt explain to me why the thing he said was wrong with my car was not documented 3weeks prior when I brought my car in and they was supposed to check it. Dont buy a Jeep and if you want to keep your car running right dont get your car serviced their, I have tried everything to get help and nit even the jeep headquarters help me all I have is a parked car that I have to make payments on and rental car read more

They like you when you buy your vehicle, but move over 400 miles away, trade with another dealership, and ask them to cancel the balance of your GAP contract and suddenly, they don't know how to dial a phone or take care of a client. Bought a new jeep wrangler from Jeff Williams on Saturday. I write this review as I bask in the glow of my new vehicle, but here is what I can report at this early stage: 1. I wasn't planning to purchase a new car and had actually just stopped in on a whim to test drive a car that wasn't really right for me. Once Jeff understood what I was really looking for - probably sooner than I did, he was able to locate the perfect vehicle for me. 2. I received a fair amount of equity on trade-in and a fair price for my new car. (Actually, according to TrueCar, I received a "Great Deal.") Unfortunately, even as information is available online, car sales have not evolved beyond the point where the poor salesman has to repeatedly go over to his boss and "get approval" for the sale (or maybe they are just talking football, I don't know) but Jeff did that a number of times as we negotiated. 2. I have an average credit score, but I got a loan at 1.99% interest through a major lender without any hassle, so that was easy. 3. My dog was with me and they were very nice to her. All of the staff came over to pet her and give her treats. It was nice to feel welcome. Also, once the purchase was complete, they banged a gong and the whole staff cheered. It's hokey....but still made me feel warm and fuzzy. 4. Doug in the business office went over all the paper work quickly. There was some high-pressure to purchase an extended warranty, which I did. I am still questioning the wisdom of that purchase because of the price ($2100) especially since I don't expect any mechanical failures on a brand new car for a long time, but there are certainly worse things than a bumper-to-bumper warranty for 7 years. 5. Once the purchase was complete, Jeff took the time to go over all of the interior safety and technological features of my new car. Overall, Jeff worked very hard and was very professional - as was every one that I encountered. I'd recommend Leith Chrysler Jeep in general and Jeff Williams specifically. read more

The Service Department is terrible. The people in the department are worse, and that includes Brad the so-called Service Manager and his minion Holly. I was there today to have them check out a problem caused by their oil change technicians and a wheel alignment. I ended up having neither of these services performed because of the awful, condescending treatment by Brad and the sarcastic comments by Holly. After Brad tried to 'lecture' me in a condescending manner I told him to get my Jeep and the keys, right now, because we were "Done". I refused to listen to his ridiculous reasons for defending his employees' rude behavior. (Holly). Unbelievably he then offered to "still do the wheel alignment". When I asked, after all this rude behavior, if there would be a charge his reply was, "Of course." So much for trying to keep a customer. I left. We've had problems with their service department for years, and kept returning because they are close. No more. This was the last straw. And I will inform anyone and everyone to stay away from this dealership. read more

Do not have your car serviced here. It's places like this that reinforce the bad reputation of dealership service centers. On the plus side, the service writers are friendly and helpful, but even they can't make up for the overpriced, inept work of everybody else. I went to Leith to service my Jeep Wrangler I brought used from their lot for several years, I repeatedly complained of irregular noise and vibration in my engine in which the service department only response was we don't want to speculate on what's causing the issue and will have to wait until the issue was apparent. Well this waiting continued until my engine failed and I had to get it replaced they showed no remorse or any sense of accountability same thing occurred with my blinker lights they kept dying I had them replace the bulbs on my lights on two separate occasions just for them to die again took to another shop and they told me whoever put bulbs in your vehicle were using cheap aftermarket bulbs and that's why they died so easily. Really wished I never did business with them and hope this review will steer you away from them only thing Leith cares about is lining their pockets with money not their customers! Avoid read more

I purchased a used car rom Leith Chrysler Jeep in September this year, and customer support was been tremendous. I was in a bit of jam with my old car suddenly dying, and the salesman I worked with arranged to have the car and all necessary paperwork brought to me in Fayetteville, as I could not make it to Raleigh. Additionally, when my bank made some errors with the final loan agreement, the dealership's financial manager was in direct contact with me and my bank, redrawing paperwork and finalizing the purchase correctly. Leith's personnel have been so professional and helpful throughout, and I'm very satisfied with my new car and buying experience; highly recommend this dealership. read more
