I was so excited it to try this place. The service was ok.. the food was horrible, my meat was burn and taste old. Feel so disappointed it.

Absolute worst. They are CONSTANTLY getting orders wrong. Something is ALWAYS missing, or mixed up or flat out the complete wrong order or even someone elses! This has happened to us on several different occasions almost back to back. So this is in no stretch of the imagination an isolated incident. It's a fool me once type of deal. I keep thinking maybe this time will be different. Well i've finally learned my lesson and will NOT be back. read more

First time here, pulled up in the parking lot around 140pm, only a few people here- but I'm sure it's packed in the mornings. We ordered French toast, bacon and eggs, and a bacon egg skillet with pancakes on the side. First off we died and went to heaven when we had our first bite of our French toast.. Omg it is the best we have ever had!!!! We both agreed. Everything was pretty good, and the bacon was done to perfection.. They brought out our free bday carrot cake and it was fantastic! I had the chorizo omelette and it was great, my sister had a breakfast burrito and she loved it, it was huge there was no way she would finish it. The staff was friendly, they weren't too busy while we were there but I definitely will be coming back since it's so close to home, best part? My sister and I were shocked to see the bill, it was such a great value, I would say I wish they had iced coffee, but thats the only thing that made this place not perfect. read more

I LOVE this cafe! Best breakfast! The breakfast options come with a lot of side options inclusively, not extra. I get the GREEK OMELETTE with a side of hash browns AND pancakes (hey it comes with it lol) all of it is so flavorful and cooked to perfection! The servers are all nice.. the baklava (Greek dessert) is good. All their American breakfast is BOMB & they have Mexican options as well as Greek. All good! This little spot was the best breakfast I've had in a while. Very reasonable and big portions. I had an omelet and hashbrowns. They were both cooked perfectly and the fresh salsa was a yummy addition. My sons burrito was giant..he couldn't finish. This will be our go-to place in Lemon Grove. Lunch looked good too and we are anxious to try more..the wait for our table was a little long. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed by the busy holiday. I've visited LGC now for Breakfast and Dinner a few times now and I really love how consistent the food quality and service has been. All of the staff is very friendly and they keep it nice and clean. They have a very extensive menu which consists of Mexican, Greek, and American food items and they serve breakfast all day. Most of their food is very reasonably priced especially for the portion sizes. You do need to be careful if you're ordering sides though because those can be a bit pricy for example a side of avocado is like $2.50+. Oh and if you bring your kids, think twice about ordering a Chocolate milk they'll get you for almost $3. Other that that I'm extremely impressed with this restaurant and will be a long time customer if they remain consistent with the quality and service. Now on to the food... Chicken fried steak breakfast - 4.5/5 stars - I ordered mine with the gravy on the side. The portions were great, steak, eggs and hash browns were perfectly cooked. Nice thick slices of sourdough bread. -.5 star because the gravy didn't taste like much of anything. It was bland and not worth the calories so I was very happy I ordered it on the side and enjoyed the majority of my food without it. Veggie Fritatta - 5/5 - my husband loved it. Loaded with veggies, cooked well done as he ordered it. There wasn't much talking doing breakfast except a bunch of "yumm's..." French toast breakfast - 5/5 - this was our friends meal he said, "this French toast is the bomb. Probably some of the best I've ever had. I love that they put a cinnamon/sugar rub on it." Kids Mickey Mouse breakfast - 5/5 - our daughter gets this no matter if we go morning or night. HUGE portions. It normally comes with eggs but we substitute for hash browns. Bacon is not the cheap thin bacon. It's thick, tasty and cooked perfectly. Gyro and Chicken Greek Salad - 5/5 - this is by far the best Greek salad I've had. The portions of meat they give are huge and the salad and feta are fresh and on point. The dressing is homemade and yummy too. I LOVE the pita bread that comes with it. First and last time here, I didn't like the service. We ordered breakfast and it didn't had any flavor, it looked good but it wasn't. The place is not really nice and it's really noisy. About the service they are nice but there was only one person helping everyone and that made it hard to keep up with the orders and coffee or soda refills. This place has such poor customer service! We love mom and pops and especially helping out small businesses anytime we can ... but this place really put my mom and dad out in cold. My parents wear a mask out during covid season - cold morning - no staff or cooks in the restaurant wore masks but yet the cashier told my parents to stand out in the cold because it's Covid - reminder parents are old and wearing masks- staff is not wearing mask and there was ample room for them to wait inside. The food is not all that or near close to stand the wait or the rudeness. I would suggest Perry's cafe- the service at Perry's has always been like family and the portions are top notch... if you are looking for wholesome food and a family dive. Otherwise you can get better service at your local jack n box compared to Lemon Grove cafe. Too bad this restaurant is tarnishing a great little city's name. This restaurant is outrageously good! The vegetable soup is wonderful! I have not had a bad meal there. We eat there one or two times a week. My mom loves the vegetable soup. I've been here several times for breakfast and lunch and everything I've had so far has been good. Today I got the chicken souvlaki off of their Greek selection. The plate comes with a Greek salad, rice pilaf and pita, I thought the chicken was crisp but still moist. I've had the beef souvlakia before and it was just as good. I don't recall the ladies name but she was a great help in the restaurant. Not only did she take our order and serve us but she also hosted the front desk ran orders to customers in and out of the kitchen and also helping anyone who walked on the door for takeout or to go. Her coworker was very nice and was able to help out and control the whole breakfast diner but I like this spot a lot for my first time and walked out full stomach with the huevos rancheros. So I'm up early and want breakfast. My usual go to breakfast restaurant is all the way down in allied gardens & I live in spring valley so the drive was something I was looking forward to. So I decide to yelp local breakfast restaurants around me and discovered this cafe in lemon grove. So I device to go and check it out, as I drive up to the location I immediately find parking no problem. As soon as I walk in my ears are created with great oldies music, at this point I'm excited. I sit down in a booth and order biscuits & gravy with 2 sausage patties, 2 scrambled eggs & 4 strips of bacon with a glass of OJ. And let me tell you those damn biscuits were so big they had to have a separate plate just for them! 4 huge biscuits smothered in gravy. They tasted do good combined with the sausage, bacon & eggs. If no one was there I wouldn't licked the plate clean! The bacon was crispy and the sausage was delicious and not greasy. Service was great, food was awesome, Parking no problem! I used to come here with my grandpa as a kid. It brings up really good memories of him. The food is good. I like the chicken fried steak. It is the best around. Anytime I'm craving it I'll be disappointed if I don't come here. The portion is big and it comes with everything. Eggs, potatoes, bread or pancakes and of course steak and gravy. I've been here a few times & it's always been delicious. Customer service is good, food is good & the prices for food is decent. Parking at times could be difficult to find on a Saturday or Sunday morning. The last two times I've gone, I ordered the California omelet. Of course you get your eggs & cheese with Avocado, bacon & tomatoes. Hashbrowns on the side with a choice of English muffin or pancakes. Not a bad deal. I recommend this place if you like breakfast. My daughter got the Mickey Mouse pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon she loved it! I got the pancakes scrambled eggs with hash browns and they were delicious! We stumbled upon this place on new year's eve when we were in search of a hearty breakfast. We actually found it by mistake when our original choice was closed. We walked in and were greeted by smiles and immediately shown to a table. The Greek/American breakfast concept was a first for me. I had never thought to have gyro meat with my breakfast. It was absolutely delicious! The portions were great and the prices were very modest. Their coffee could use some work, as it tasted a little burned. I will be visiting LGC again soon.
