I enjoy lemon poppy because it is consistent and pricing is reasonable. Food is good and the staff is well mannered. Parking is usually easy to find. They have a large lot and there is street parking available as well. Food- The Turkish eggs were tasty, although not completely filling. I'd put them at a 4/5. I've tried most of their tea cakes as well as the cookies and I would give them a blanket 5/5 with the note that the vegan tea cakes tend to be very dense. The fries are better than the potatoes imo, I'd put the fries at a 5/5. Drinks- I love the Arnold Palmer, it's not too sweet. It has a nice tang from the lemonade that balances it just perfectly 5/5. My boyfriend enjoyed the Moroccan mint. I thought it was decent. If you enjoy a strong mint flavor, I'd recommend it. read more

I frequent the Poppy often with friends as it seems to be the only chill yummy spot in close proximity to our church that has a patio with a fun varied playlist. Where do I even start! Another great find in this area that I never knew even existed and I'm so glad he found it. When we drove up, I literally said oh my gosh, this place looks so cute!... And then I got even more excited that they had a huge parking lot lol! We ordered French toast and a biscuit sandwich and had a bottle of champagne and pineapple juice and enjoyed our mimosas under a shaded patio. Their food was pretty good. Needed a place for a pre meeting lunch with a colleague and found Lemon Poppy on a search. I chose it because of good reviews and lots of gluten free options. It did not disappoint! I had the special gingerbread lattes (amazing!) and my colleague had a dirty Macha latte. We both elected breakfast entrées for our lunch. My colleague chose the steak and eggs and I tried something I had never had before, the mamaliga (yum!) The inside is tiny, and I believe there is an outdoor area, but not usable on a rainy day. First time here and the motive behind the two stars is the food! I ordered the salmon and eggs and none of my food had flavor. Also, my salmon was overcooked. The drinks I ordered was red sangria and hazelnut latte and they were not that good in my opinion. The sangria could have gave a little more sweet to it, and the latte was not that great. Their salt and pepper was only in the tiny paper packs that are on the plastic Togo utensils, which made out party question why they do that. !?? Hmmmm.... However, our server mason was good and funny. This made the experience better because he was the only one who had such a good personality out of the crew. It was 10 of us and we sat outside near a bush and that was annoying. My friend who did the reservations asked for inside, but once we got there they sat us outside anyways. The ambiance is just decent. Outside is not great, but inside is more live and better ambiance. It is small inside but better ambiance than outside. The food was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict, and the eggs were not prepared as expected. Eggs Benedict traditionally comes with poached eggs where the yoke is runny, and ours appeared to be over cooked where the yolk is hard. The service was the most disappointing part of the visit. I felt unwelcome and, at times, concerned that I may have been treated differently because of my race or appearance. Whether intentional or not, that was the impression we left with. I genuinely wanted to enjoy this restaurant and was hoping it would become a place I'd return to. Tough review to write - but necessary. This place is in our neighborhood, and we do go there frequently. I say this because my opinion, even though it may not matter to the proprietor, is based upon repeated experience. I know the place, quite well . . . and have spent quite a bit of money there over the past few years. First, the food is good, the menu offers a nice selection . . . but in terms of consistency of execution, I'd say that 1/3 the time something is not quite as what it should be. That's just too high a percentage. For example, the potatoes are usually crisp, but this is - not even remotely - something one can bank upon. Other shortfalls reside in service . . . such as dishes coming out cold. Just yesterday, I received a breakfast plate and the eggs were literally cold . . . and the place was not busy. As nice as most of the staff appear to be, I must also sadly report that service is more often than not spotty at best. Getting a coffee refill can sometimes require an act of Congress. My final comment is that from my vantage point, the menu prices have climbed around 60%(!) or higher over the past three or four years . . . yeah, I get it . . . inflation . . . but it's already reached a point given the aforementioned shortcomings to where the value simply isn't there. I got hit with a $4 upcharge for a biscuit over toast the other day, after the choice was presented as an option, not a charge. Add coffee, tax, tip, and all of a sudden I'm into a $ 34 plate of cold scrambled eggs and two pieces of bacon, one of which is mostly undercooked fat? It's a bit easier to excuse shortfalls when one is not paying top dollar . . . We'll be back. We do like the place . . . but the way things are going we won't be back as often . . . and that's a shame. read more

I went for a late brunch on a Saturday and there was little parking but I got lucky because someone was leaving as I was arriving. They have an outdoor patio with a cool chill vibe. Good for small and larger groups it feels like. They also have pastries and a coffee menu so if you want to just order inside and go, you can definitely do that. It took them a while to seat us but once they did, service was quick. They took our order, brought out our food quickly, and the bill was on our table. I get that they're busy and probably need the space, but it did feel rushed, even though they reassured us that we could take our time. The menu has a lot of brunch staples. I went with the chilaquiles. They were ok. I would order something else next time but still glad I tried them. I also ordered a turmeric latte and that was good. We ended up ordering a pastry at the end. We dug into it before realizing they brought us the wrong order. Our waiter noticed and said he'd fix it but we told him we'd just keep it since we already had taken bites out of it. I'm glad he was attentive enough to realize the error and tried to rectify the issue, so extra points to the staff for being on top of their service despite the chaotic brunch rush! I would be interested in returning for a non weekend brunch to see how calm this place can get. I bet sitting on that patio on a nice quiet summer day would be amazing. read more
