Cute neighborhood restaurant! Feels homey and welcoming. They have a big patio out front with lots of seating. If you've been to Aroma in North Hollywood on Tujunga, this place feels like its sister. Very similar vibes. You order inside, take a number, and they bring your food out to you. And inside there are pastries behind the counter, you can order coffee, and there's even cute packaged food items for purchase. Lots of people hanging out here on their computers or meeting up with friends. I got the salmon salad. It came with a small pretzel roll - it wasn't fresh/warm and a bit tough. The salad, I really enjoyed! The salmon was tasty and I loved the capers in the salad too. It is a bit pricey though, costing $22.
Dessert Worth the Walk... But Probably Not a Religious Experience This spot is the perfect "we still have room for dessert" move after dinner nearby. The cakes are genuinely tasty, the slices are massive, and at $10-15 a slice, you'll definitely want to split unless you're emotionally recovering from something. The place gets busy because it's tucked into a restaurant/bar setup, so during peak dessert hours it turns into organized frosting chaos. Thankfully, the service stays friendly and professional even when everyone in the room suddenly decides they need sugar immediately. Ambiance-wise, it's a bustling little dessert shop with good energy, especially at night. My preferred move? Grab the cakes to-go and enjoy them at home like the sophisticated goblin I am. Best part is the location, tons of great dinner spots nearby, making this an ideal sweet finish to the evening. Will it fundamentally alter your existence? No. Will you happily come back for oversized cake slices and a casual sugar victory lap? Absolutely.
ALCOVE Cafe & Bakery is like a Hidden Gem in the City of Los Angeles. Lots of great things to try here from delicious burgers to sweet and savory desserts like cakes and drinks. Although service was very crowded when we went, the staff service pulled it off nice and efficiently and it went very well. Ambiance here might a little small but they have lots of outdoor seating on the outside. So it made it very spacious. Highly recommended this place to anyone who is around the LA area and searching for a beautiful and stunning place to eat.
Overall 4.5/5 for the items we had! Tried the Alcove after a hike on a very crowded Saturday morning and it absolutely hit the spot. The bakery section alone is drool-worthy. The huevos rancheros were such a pleasant surprise , lighter than the usual version but still packed with flavor. The avocado toast was a standout too. Mr. declared it the best avocado toast he's had, mostly because of the amazing chili oil flavor added on top. Finished with the almond and pear cake -- slightly dense for my liking, but still good. Mr. loved it, while I'd give it a solid 4/5. We will surely be coming back to try more from the menu!
Alcove Cafe & Bakery has literally been around longer than I have, and somehow it still never disappoints. That alone says everything. I also noticed they don't have nearly enough photos on Yelp, so I had to contribute because this place deserves it. The mango habanero wings were --perfect balance of sweet and spicy with just the right kick. And the turkey pesto and buffalo wrap? So good. Fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying without feeling heavy. Everything here is consistently solid, from the food to the vibe. It's one of those spots you can always count on, whether you're grabbing a casual bite or meeting friends. Definitely a staple and always worth coming back to.
One of the few restaurants I have seen that literally had it all. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, indoor and outdoor seating, counter order and servers, and a bar. The amount of outdoor seating is extensive in a beautifully calm setting and fills up especially on weekends. The food is fantastic and very good value. They have valet parking or you can find nearby street parking. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Went for lunch and the vibe is really cool, definitely feels like a Hollywood bistro. There's plenty of spots to sit at and the ordering/ drop off time was faster than expected. The food was yummy and a lot of options to choose from. I'll definitely be going back.
Alcove is always a solid option, lately have only been trying their cake slices. Very pricey (around $13.50 per slice). We tried chocolate mousse which was delicious and the Boston Creme flavor. Their carrot cake is also a good option. Service is quick and the ambiance of the restaurant is nice. Seats indoors and out on the patio area.
Whenever I have a friend or family member visiting from out of town this is my favorite go to spot. The food never fails to deliver and the outdoor indoor seating option is perfect for any kind of weather. Whats more is that the staff is friendly and remembers you and in my case even my dogs!
We had a great day hiking at Griffith park and then enjoyed a late breakfast/lunch. It was our friend's birthday and it was absolutely a beautiful day. Service is always amazing at alcove great hospitality, every staff member is so kind and friendly.
The six of us came here for brunch and the service was excellent. Our waiter and even other staff members checked on us multiple times, especially as we were packing up leftovers, sauces, tea, and coffee to take home. We were seated on the outdoor patio with our dogs, which was perfect. We arrived around 10am and were seated right away after finding nearby residential street parking, though valet is also available. About half of us ordered the Country Breakfast and everyone loved the lemon ricotta pancakes. We didn't realize they were full-size pancakes, especially since the plate also comes with three eggs and a choice of bacon or apple chicken sausage. It was very filling! One friend ordered the short rib eggs benedict and couldn't stop raving about the roasted potatoes. Another ordered the breakfast burrito, which came in a very generous portion. We all ended up with leftovers to take home. The atmosphere and vibes here are perfect for brunch. Even though we had full table service, you also have the option to order inside at the bakery counter and find your own seating. I'd definitely come back again.
Today, we had a family lunch at Alcove Cafe in Los Feliz. It was a joint birthday celebration for my niece and my brothers, and everything-- from the food to the service--was absolutely wonderful. There were eight of us, and since Alcove doesn't take reservations, we were a bit worried about whether we'd be able to sit together quickly (especially because everyone was hungry!). The host kindly told us that a large table for all eight of us should open up in about 5-10 minutes and asked us to wait just a little. Sure enough, the big table became available shortly after, and all eight of our family members were able to sit together comfortably. I've been here before with My Mom for brunch on April 5th, 2019, and it was busy back then as well. Today was no different--still very popular and lively. I ordered the Alcove Benedict, and My Mom had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, which were so delicious. We also ordered Chilaquiles, two Short Rib Benedicts, a Breakfast Burrito, the Alcove Club sandwich, iced tea, and an Arnold Palmer. Because I've been managing my blood sugar recently, I'm trying to cut back on sugar, so I drank water--which really is the healthiest choice. I used to not think much about health, but recently I've tried to stop drinking soda, as well as sugary juices and drinks. All of the food was delicious, and every staff member was incredibly kind, which made the family lunch even more enjoyable. One more big plus: since Alcove has its own cake café, there's a charge if you eat outside cakes there. So we planned to eat the cake we bought from Paris Baguette at the park instead. The staff kindly provided us with to-go boxes and utensils so we could enjoy the cake elsewhere. Their thoughtful and generous service truly made us feel grateful and touched.
I always like coming here for a late night snack or nightcap after dinner. Not only do they offer great dessert of cakes, pastries and cookies but amazing coffee drinks as well. Full menu throughout the day as well as a full bar. We've been for lunch and dinner a few times. They do offer valet service right out front. Or street parking along the front or in the neighborhood. This visit, they had a host infront which I don't normally remember. Maybe during the weekend, who knows. We normally seat ourselves either in the patio part or bar area. But was told that certain area was for table service. It was fine which we opted for as it made it easier insisted of going up to the counter to order. Of course as it's starting to get chilly, there's loads of heat lamps scattered through out the patio section. We were quite comfortable that night. Service was a little slow at the beginning. I feel like there was only one waiter the whole time we were there. So him making sure everyone was taken care of made it pretty slow. A given as he was the only one. We just wanted a nightcap which also led to truffle fries and a slice of chocolate cake. As it was a full bar, they did accommodate some drinks that we wanted/ but the Bloody Mary, it was just ok. I wouldn't rave much about it. Maybe better for bunch. But I do recommend the truffle fries. It's alway a must each time we're here. Comes with both ketchup and a aioli dip. Cake was good from the group point of view. Service was ok, slow but not his fault as he was the only one taking orders. Still very sweet and friendly. Fries and cake were excellent. The property is beautiful with the nice outdoor patio. Nice coffee shop with amazing pastries. Bar area is cute too but not too big. First come first serve. Overall, the place is great for a meal.

This is such a cute place and customer service and the food was amazing!!! I ordered the Carnita omelette. My husband had the apple pie pancakes and two eggs over medium and bacon. To drink, we had hot chocolate and cranberry juice. The service was excellent here you walk up place your order then find a seat, but they bring your food to you and everything was so delicious. We definitely will be back to tey other items on the menu. read more
I have been at Alcove years ago, but I thought I should revisit it since I needed a meeting place in the area. I usually go to its sister, Aroma in Studio City. Love the setting, the nice outdoor seating options, good service, wonderful pastries (right now they have some great seasonal options), it's a tranquil place to meet a friend. They even have a bar here and a happy hour besides a nice breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. Everyone's food looked amazing. Water from the house! We got nice, tart lemonades, olive oil pastries - soft and tasty. There's a valet, but you can find some street parking as well. Really nice cafe, lively and laid back in the same time, cute decor, vegetation, wonderful setting, very European chic! I'll stop by again when in the area! read more

Holy moly. I'm an eggs Benedict fanatic through and through. This benny beats them all. Real thin sliced ham, fresh arugula, soft English muffin, and perfect eggs. Just amazing. Wish there was more hollandaise & that the teenie weenie potatoes were warmer, but other than that no notes -- cafe is cute inside & out and all the employees are so kind and friendly. read more

Amazing service, everyone was so nice and attentive especially the guys at the front (special thank you to the guy at the front that took my friend's and I's pictures outside for us!). The food was really yummy, the drinks were good, and it was so homey in there! It was popping despite it pouring rain. It was my birthday so my friends and I were there celebrating And a lot of others looked like regulars. We started at the bar because there was nowhere to sit and the drink menu was pretty unique so I stuck with a brunch Bellini. They filled up my drink and it was really good! I got the steak frites and I wish they were a little more flavorful but I ate them all lol. They were all pretty good lol. My friend's food smelled amazing! Now the pastry case--omg! I loveee cheesecake and my friends bought me a slice for my bday. This was some of the best cheesecake I ever had!!! It was so fluffy and the chocolate was so rich. We had the s'mores one. I loved it and I WILL be back! Preferably on a nice day so we can sit outside or not be so squished inside lol. read more

Went on a super rainy morning and didn't expect it to be packed! But everyone cozy'd up inside and it was super cute vibes. I sat at the bar with my friends for brunch on a Tuesday and it was lively and the bartender was the bestttttt, friendly welcoming and not overbearing at all! Shortrib Benedict was CRAZYYYY. If you're a shortrib fan you gotta get this! We also got the classic Benedict but swapped the protein for bacon *droooool* Short stack of lemon ricotta pancakes, soft fluffy and the pecan butter (I think that's what it was?) was the perfect touch Breakfast biscuit sandwich- ok the sausage on this goes CRAZY. I loveeee a spicy breakfast sausage and they nailed it on this one. I wish the biscuit was softer (it's more on a dense dry side) but it held up well with the sando! read more
Delicious food! The presentation is so stunning and the food truly tastes even better. My favorite thing to get is the salmon stack. The potato pancake is so crispy and flavorful. A super nice welcoming environment. Stopping here will definitely set you up for a wonderful rest of the day. read more

My partner and I LOVED this spot. We had our pup with us so we sat outside way back in the shade where it was quieter and perfect. But before you sit, you go inside and order from their large menu with so many selections of food for the time of day and baked goodies and cake! Even the drink menu is pretty wonderful! We both opted for the classic Cobb salad which was delicious. All of the ingredients were just right and complimented each other. Service was very quick and friendly as well. They even have a qr code on the table to add to your order with. Super cool and convenient. Go ahead and check this spot out, they something for everyone so you won't be disappointed. read more

Truly one of the coziest spots in LA. Can't say enough good things about Alcove. The food, staff, and garden vibes make for an enjoyable outing every time. Their food also tends to have very generous portions, everything I've tried has tended to be bigger than expected. Must recommend the chips and dip as an app! Due to the area, street parking usually a 5-15 minute endeavor - but is certainly doable. read more
This is such a cute cafe with a ton of seating inside & out! Came here after a hike at Griffith Park and it was the perfect post hike meal. I was welcomed with friendly workers and ordered the alcove club sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was delicious along with the fries. I will definitely be back! read more
Ambience is amazing, beautiful nature scenery the place we were seated was beautiful. First of all the waiter was so nice in the front who took our numbers. The cashier in the front was extremely kind too, he complimented my nails, and made me feel so comfortable and welcome. The truffle fries were really delicious, they do not look as good as they taste, but the truffle flavor is very prominent and really well seasoned. I got the salmon salad, which was super fresh, and I really like the vinaigrette that it came with salmon was extremely well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I would definitely come back here just for the view of the garden scenery, alone, but the customer service and food sealed it for me. Five stars!!!!! read more

Been here a couple of times and it's always good! This time I got the (bison?) chili with jalapeno cornbread and it hit the spot (this is a cup size btw!) Their lattes are good as well. Great ambience to have a hang, work from, or even happy hour drinks. read more

First time back here after 7+ years. Came on a Monday night, was able to snag the one parking spot right in front. Metered but free. Counter service and you take a number to a table that staff brings food to. Everyone was polite and helpful. Food: chips and dip- pleasantly surprised with how amazing this simple dish was. Fried chicken- fantastic and flavorful. Burger- amazing as well, huge portion. Tuxedo & marble slices- a little steep at $12.50 each but very good and moist nonetheless. Paid about $113 for everything, which is pretty fair for a party of 3 in this part of town. Had a really good time here and it was a great way to end a day. I enjoyed the peaceful ambiance, it's a really fun and pretty little spot. read more
You check in front with the hostess, you get in line and order your drinks and food and come back to advise the hostess, you will be seat you. Pet friendly and that is a super perk here, I love coming here after my hike at Griffith Park. Got the omelet with chicken sausage and mushroom, added pepperjack cheese and sourdough bread. Those potatoes are amazing, really nice touch to the breakfast. We also got the seasonal strawberries and cream biscuit and that was amazing treat. Just the right amount of sweetness and the biscuit itself was soft on the inside and breaks apart nicely. read more

The person who brought our food was very nice! She offered to take photos of us which was lovely. The food was BOMB! Just wow! It was a bit busy the time that we went which was around 7:00 PM but we got our food quick and we were very satisfied with our experiences. The burger was fresh and the fries were done amazing. The place was beautiful and worth taking photos at with family. read more

I went here last night around 9pm with my boyfriend. It was a really cool place. They have an outdoor sitting area, indoor sitting are and bar area. It has interesting decor. There was plus size friendly seating with no arms. Food: we got strawberry cheesecake and birthday cake. We also ordered a oat milk vanilla latte and a oat milk vanilla cappuccino. I love me the cheesecake and birthday cake. They frosting on the birthday cake seemed homemade to me. They sell chocolate from Iceland too. I haven't tried it yet but it's probably good! I would definitely come here again! It seems like a really fun brunch place. And it's cool that it's open late. read more

Very. Usually enough outside seating (you may have to wait a bit on busier days) and sometimes the staff will bring out treats for your dog.

Yes! I got a gluten free brownie and it was delicious!
How much is a slice of cake?
$8, at least for the layered chocolate cake. It's the best cake I have ever eaten in my life. EVER.
