    BLT Benedict & Potato Pancake
    Emeline L.

Gorgeous restaurant with a naturally lit interior. Extensive brunch menu. Free-for-all seating. Order when you walk in. Food 5/5 Apple Cream Pie - Delicious. Would eat three slices of this sucker in one sitting. Mocha Latte - On the bitter side, don't mind. Something to be aware of if you like your drinks sweet. BLT Benedict - My favorite part was that it wasn't served on an English muffin which is a nightmare to cut and chew. Food is tasty and clean. Potato Pancake - On the richer side of flavor, can be a bit heavy in both lox flavor and starch. Kind of wish they had a light vegetable included to balance it out. Jalapeno Sourdough Loaf - This bad boy is delicious and the whole loaf was only $12! They'll slice it for you if you'd like. Service 3/5 When I asked the cashier what's the most popular dish, he said, "all of them," and continued to tap his feet. Helpful. A little advice, ask the customer what they're looking for, sweet or savory, if there's any dishes they've narrowed down, meat or vegetarian, literally anything. I understand there's a long line and you're trying to get through to everyone but helping me make the decision will improve the service and actually help make the line go by faster. Ambiance 5/5 Lucky enough to get a table in a corner to enjoy the view and people watch. It's got lots of open seating.

While visiting Los Angeles, I had heard about this popular restaurant located in the mid-Wilshire area serving a variety of French inspired dishes and garnering high praises from visitors. I ordered the escargot, dover sole, salmon, prawns, fries and risotto. Although, some dishes were good the majority were disappointing and totally missed the mark. The Salmon was lukewarm and was sent back. The Prawns were without question the biggest disappointment. By far these were the smallest prawns I've ever had anywhere and for the price one would've truly expected more. Overall, the meal was good but not great. The service was poor and lacked structure, creating a chaotic and rushed atmosphere. Throughout my entire dining experience and other than the times of me personally calling over my server, he was inattentive, lacked personality and never made me feel welcomed. Although, it appeared the staff worked as a team it never seemed cohesive and what one might expect from an establishment of this caliber. The restaurant was crowded but I did see several staffers seemingly with little to do, which is why the lack of table service surprised me. Kudos, to the manager who did walk over and apologized for the salmon and provided me with a $50.00 gift card towards a future visit. This was very thoughtful and appreciated.

My new favorite brunch spot in LA! Here, you order first and then find a seat. There were so many delicious brunch and pastry options! I got here around 9:30 AM on Sunday and there was no wait, but on my way out around 10:30 there was a huge line forming so make sure to go early! The interior is so beautiful and I love how there is a rustic aesthetic. I got the Mediterranean Breakfast and the Breakfast Sandwich and both left me so impressed. The Mediterranean breakfast came with a sesame baguette that paired perfectly with the poached eggs and the dill aleppo pepper butter was something out of the world. Everything in this dish combined to create such amazing flavors in my mouth. The Breakfast Sandwich was also so delicious, with a perfect Brioche bun and every bite was juicy and flavorful. I am definitely coming back to try their other items because this place really blew me away. I understand why there's a long line now.

One of the best brunches I ever had in LA! It's a wait until you get seated but the line moves pretty fast. We went around 12:30 and got a place to sit at 1:15 The restaurant closes at 2 pm for their brunch menu We ordered two omelettes one blue berry pan cake and one Turkish eggs. Everything was delicious right from coffee to croissant! Make sure you have time in hand before you go to this place :) absolutely amazing!!

Love visiting here for brunch when I'm in the area. They have such a cute interior it literally feels like you've been transported to a different country. It's all self seating so you can choose where you want to dine. I love all their pastries here they are made fresh. My favorite this time was the black sesame mochi cake which had just the right amount of sweetness 10/10. The eggs Benedict was good but nothing too amazing 7/10 The mushroom rice bowl was so good as well!! 9/10 super savory and came with two amazing eggs. I swear their quality of the eggs that they use here is out of this world. And it doesn't even have any meat -- perfect vegetarian option Tables are cleared quickly and food comes out relatively fast as well.

Food is very decent, I would give a 4.5, I like their baked goods more. Their egg Benedict is ok, not bad for sure. Thick cut bacon is salty, and toast is very fresh. Ambiance is where it shines, very cool looking interior. Service is fine, they get what you ask for. Just beware parking is very hard, and wait time is long so plan ahead. Definitely a go to spot if you visit LA.

A good friend and I went out for a celebratory dinner at Republique on Tuesday. Food was amazing, ambiance was great and service was very good! Great vibe all around so let's get into it. Ambiance: From what I understand the building dates back to 1928 and was commissioned by Charlie Chaplin as an office space. ...some office! It's kind of a mixture of french gothic meets Spanish colonial with high ceilings, dramatic archways, and really makes for an interesting restaurant atmosphere. One can tell that this was built during the Los Angeles boom where real money was spent on the electrical and romantic structures. I kind of felt like I was in a monastery or private Hacienda - very unique and very Los Angeles. Food: overall 5 stars. We decided to cleanse our pallet with a glass of Rene Geoffroy 1er cru, Expression champagne: 5 stars Velvety, fine bubbles. Very good depth to this wine - starts out a little crisp and mineral on the tongue, then turns into a brioche and kind of a dry chalky finish on the palate. My first time trying this champagne and I found it to be delicious and sophisticated; perfect accoutrement to our oysters. We were given an amuse bouche (see photo) and it was the most perfect bite. I don't even know how to begin to describe it so I'll just refrain. East and West Coast Oysters: 5 stars Fishers island and kumamoto with barrel-aged mignonette. Delicious and perfectly shucked. The kumamoto were a little creamy, but not too much and the fisher islands were perfectly briny, good firmness to them. The mignonette had a bit of cracked peppercorns in it and that was quite interesting in a great way. My friend and I decided that we could both make a meal out of these oysters alone. Baguette: 5 stars wow. The best baguette this side of the Atlantic ocean. Served with Rodolphe Le Meunier butter, this was a real treat. This baguette and butter will set you back $15 but it is worth every cent. I highly encourage everyone to order this and the waiters and other patrons will tell you the same. I'm so glad we did this. Japanese Hamachi Crudo: 5 stars Tender Hamachi served with a strawberry Thai basil nuoc cham... very unique and delicious dish. I would order again. I'm typically not the kind of person to mix sweet berries with savory food, but this was the perfect balance of texture flavors, sweet and heat. Caramelized Walla Walla Sweet onion tart: 5 stars This is a very interesting tart served with chunks of Applewood, smoked bacon and aged Gruyere. This eats more like a very thin crust pizza wonderful texture, crispy thin crust with sweet onion, jam, melted Greer cheese, and crispy yet chewy chunks of applewood smoked bacon. Great flavors great texture (see photo). Frederic Esmonin 2023 Pinot Noir: 5 stars I remember notes of black cherry red currants, more of an earthy and heavier wine compared to the lighter pinot noirs I've had before. Napa Valley Lamb Rack: 4 stars (5 star lamb, 3 star polenta). Mixed feelings about this one. Lamb was cooked perfectly. Great on-the-bone flavor and I could have licked the lamb jus off my plate. The dish also had roasted baby artichokes which were good, but the issue we had was the polenta. I've had polenta before, and I don't remember it being so sweet. The polenta does come with mushroom and merguez sausage to help bring some depth and savoriness to the dish but it needed more help. We did not finish this side, and we were disappointed but it's not the end of the world. Opera Cake: 5 stars There are times where I wish I can make something so delicious that people will talk about it for days after they eat it. The opera cake is a solid 5 stars I dessert choice. My friend and I are not big chocolate people, but our waiter highly encouraged us to give this a try, and since we were having a celebratory dinner, we decided that a cake was in order. The texture on this cake was amazing. Smooth ganache with light sponge cake, crispy layer of roasted hazelnut. Just the right amount of richness and decadence. I'm glad we went out of our comfort zone and ordered the opera cake. I highly recommend this dessert. Service: 5 stars. Jared was a waiter and he was attentive, possessed a good knowledge of the menu items and was able to offer helpful insight on the menu items. There is a whole team working to buss dishes, replace silverware and ensure water glasses are always topped off. I should also mention a man by the name of (I think) Quang; appeared to be either manager or a type of lead staff member. Very attentive and has a very keen eye to detail. I thank him for bringing me my second glass of wine when my first ran empty, and ensuring that my friend and I had everything we needed throughout the night. I look forward to coming back to Republique.

Umm... can I live here?? We stopped by for brunch and left completely impressed. First things first ,the ambiance is stellar: airy, bright, and absolutely beautiful. I was smitten at first glance. And then came the bakery display, which honestly took my breath away. Once I managed to tear myself away from the space itself, I was blown away by the variety and the intricate detailing--things I'd only ever seen on shows like The Great British Bake Off. We ordered brunch along with a few pastries and beverages, and since it was Thanksgiving weekend, we also took home a pecan pie. It turned out to be a huge hit with our friends and was gone in a single sitting. Pricing is definitely on the higher side, but the quality and overall experience make it worthwhile. Highly recommended.

Came here around 11 am on a Saturday and there was a line. We waited about 15-20 minutes to get to the cashier to order. You order first and then find a table to sit at. We ordered the Filipino adobo fried rice, potato pancake, mango calamansi pie, a creme brulee pastry and another blueberry croissant pastry. Everything was delicious! Our favorite was the potato pancake, which came with pieces of salmon lox and eggs on top. The potato pancake was crispy and had a pancake texture and it was so interesting. The flavors all blended well together. Would highly recommend ordering! The Filipino adobo fried rice was also delicious and very flavorful. It had a kick to it even without adding the sriracha! Out of all the pastries, our favorite was the mango calamansi pie. They had just brought out a new whole pie as we were ordering so we had to order a slice. It wasn't too sweet and the cream wasn't too heavy either. Would definitely order again! The other pastries were also not too sweet and were tasty. Service was excellent! We received our food fairly quickly considering how packed it was. The restaurant has a lot of seating but République is pretty popular so it gets packed. There is street meter parking out in front. Would recommend!

French toast was a pass. Will not order this again.

Really good Boulangerie outside of France We come here for weekend brunch. You can find metered parking and they have valet. Crowded but line moved quickly. I wouldn't recommend this place for a business lunch but great with friends and family. The bakery selection is limited if you come late. So get here before 10:30 am. We got the lobster omelet, salmon toast, Short rib burrito, and traditional breakfast. Get the pies, basque cheesecake Everything here is amazing except the French toast!

Hey, let me get this out of the way: Valet parking- $14, employees personnel fee: 4% onto your bill. The tip starts at 20-% at the register unless you change it. I felt like I was handing out money for everything other than the food... Wifey had Quiche and a Rosè. She didn't like it, but ate it anyway. I had the Burger, which came with crispy fries that were really tasty!the Burger was cooked well and was amazingly good. The service was great and the environment was very busy and the movement was fast. Would I return? Sure, but just make sure you have at least $100. ‍

A very popular brunch spot in Los Angeles is Republique. I have been here a few times and have to say they are always busy with tourists, workers, and overall just wanting some good food. You have to order first and then get a number to put down on your table. The avocado toast is delicious!!! If you love avocados this one is gigantic and I literally couldn't finish it. For dessert, we also ordered a cheesecake and had a taste of this creamy delicious cheesecake. It is one of the best! They have long tables or small chairs and tables as well. So you can come with a large group or even a small one just enjoy the inside of this spot. It is quite pretty.

A surprise for me...we were driving to the Farmers Market when ny friend stopped here. . I'm a newbie to this Michelin 2025 restaurant...my friend was well acquainted and even got the warmest hug from the beautiful woman at reception, which meant I got a welcome hug too and a selfie. The service is exceptional...our servers worked like a team to 1. Make sure of my allergies. 2. Double check on my alcohol preferences. 3. Gave excellent advice coordinating our food so we could dine leisurely and still make our special screening. SERVICE 10/5. TRULY top notch on making our meal a delightful relaxing even pampered experience. FOOD: I let my gentleman friend choose but I insisted on the risotto with truffles. Omg, the server who brought the dish shaved off a lot of truffle, real truffle...it was amazing creamy yumminess... ive only seen a real truffle on a nature doc or a food show.10/5....also impressive was something simple, yet sublime, the baguette 10/5... good butter, we with a dollop of salt on the side....this warm European style bread was soft inside crunchy on the outside, a meal in itself. If nothing else order it!!! The food that made me happiest....the baguette, the risotto, the onion tart., the mocktails, the free amuse bouche and the free sple cocktail. and the service. AMBIANCE...had a New York vibe, but not pretentious...really neat skylight above, rows of pendent lighting in the front of house, varnished picnic tables adjacent to the open kitchen....and a lovely space in back that was romantic and intimate while still being open....I felt so special. Thanks and it wasn't even a special occasion. Just an ordinary evening out, made extraordinary. Thanks Republique. Thanks to my friend Alan.

It remains a unique addition to the neighborhood, as well as a good place to grab some interesting dishes. Since the opening of this particular business, the Zinc chain has opened in a few other locations. Those locations are much newer in not only their establishment but their design. This is not to say that this is still not an interesting, well-designed business, but, with time, it has become a little bit rundown. I hate to say it, but that is the truth. This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however. Meaning, if you're looking for an interesting place to eat, with some good dishes, at the far Southeast side of DTLA, near the lofts district, and you want a place without a long wait to get a table and/or your food, this may still be your place to go.

This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had at Zinc. I've been coming here on and…read moreoff for the past four years and have never experienced customer service this bad. We started with coffee. My boyfriend ordered a mocha, and I ordered a salted caramel latte. His drink was fine, but mine had absolutely no flavoring. As a former barista, I could immediately tell it was just a plain iced latte. I politely asked the waitress if they had forgotten the syrup, and she insisted, "There is syrup in it, but I can ask them to add more." I knew there wasn't any syrup, but I didn't want to argue, so I said, "Sure, please add more." A few minutes later, the manager came over and told me they actually didn't have salted caramel. So I asked if I could just get a regular caramel latte instead. She then told me they couldn't make that either because they were out of caramel sauce, the very reason they couldn't make the salted caramel in the first place. So why hand me a plain iced latte and tell me it had syrup when you knew you didn't even have the ingredients? Why not simply come back and let me know you were out and ask if I'd like something else? Instead, I was given a regular latte at the price of a flavored one (plus they later charged me for the syrup they never even added). For context, I had originally ordered a dirty chai, which they also couldn't make. So that's two drinks they didn't have, yet no one thought to communicate that before serving me something completely different. When I told the manager I'd look back at the menu for another option, she responded, "Okay... are you going to tell the waitress what drink you want?" I just looked at her, confused, and said, "Well... yeah?" How else was I supposed to order a replacement? The interaction came across as unnecessarily rude. Then it was time to order food. My boyfriend ordered the truffle burger, and I ordered the French toast. The waitress came back a few minutes later and said they couldn't make the French toast. No problem, I told her I'd also have the truffle burger. She acknowledged it, wrote it down, asked how I wanted it cooked, and what side I wanted. I ordered it medium-well with fries. So both burger orders were sent in at the same time. About 20 minutes later, the food arrived, but only my boyfriend's burger and an extra side of fries that we never ordered. At that point, we didn't even bother saying anything about the fries because we were trying to avoid making things more difficult. We waited another 20 minutes (even though it was so slow). My boyfriend finished eating, and my burger still hadn't come out. Finally, we asked for the check and requested that my burger be removed since it never arrived. That's when the waitress told us I had never ordered a second burger. I was honestly speechless. I reminded her that she had taken my order after telling me they couldn't make the French toast. She had written it down, asked how I wanted it cooked, and asked what side I wanted. Her response was that she thought I meant only my boyfriend's burger. That explanation made no sense because my boyfriend's order had already been taken before she took mine. It honestly felt like we were being gaslit over something as simple as ordering a burger. To make matters worse, after we paid and were finally leaving, I looked at the receipt and realized I had been charged for the salted caramel latte that I never actually received. We had to go back yet again. Thankfully, a different employee, not the waitress or the manager helped us. They were friendly, understanding, and quickly corrected the charge. I'm not sure if management has changed, but this entire experience was unnecessarily frustrating from beginning to end. Everything that could have gone wrong did. Honestly, I should've taken the "B" health grade posted on the window as a warning. We ended up walking over to Blue Bottle next door for coffee instead, and I'd absolutely recommend going there if you're looking for a place that actually values customer service. After four years of coming to Zinc, this experience has me seriously questioning whether I'll ever be back.

There is a small seating area, and the seats weren't particularly comfortable, but the space seems intended more for a quick stop rather than a long sit-down meal. I ordered the beignet, breakfast po'boy sandwich, and chicken and waffles. - The beignet tasted good, but the portion was quite small. - The egg in the breakfast po'boy was burnt, which affected the overall flavor. - The chicken and waffles tasted like frozen food that had been reheated rather than freshly made. On the positive side, the service was very kind and friendly. However, overall the food was disappointing.

Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, with authentic flavors and quality ingredients that stood out from the first bite to the last. The ambiance was welcoming and the art was tasteful. What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the meal. They were quick to offer recommendations and ensured everything was perfect without being intrusive. We ordered the tostaditas de atún agua chile negro, beet salad, carne asada taco and Al pastor taco and watched the World Cup game. Distrito Catorce combines exceptional food, a great atmosphere, and top-notch service. It's the kind of place that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. Definitely plan on coming back to watch more World Cup games.

To be honest, I was already biased because his Smorgasburg pop-ups were consistently good. But Distrito Catorce is different , it's like art. My favorite dish was the tacos de papa with salsa macha. The crunch of the potato taco riding into the salsa macha and crema felt like home, but with some extra pop. His salsa game is on point. The scallion salsa on the ribeye taco was also gas. Lastly, I really dug the tostadita de atún. It hit perfectly on these hot summer days. Low-key, I still want to try the El Rey de Noche. Tacos de beef trompo are starting to hit LA, and dude was ahead of the curve making picanha-brisket tacos de trompo. Service is smooth too. The servers are helpful, and solid at the bar. Overall, it's a cool spot with a menu that feels unique to LA.

The outdoor space was absolutely beautiful and the perfect setting to celebrate with my closest friends and family. We did a family-style brunch, and let me tell you, they did not miss. We started with the arugula salad, Louisiana shrimp aguachile, and cream biscuits. Those biscuits? Listennnn. Order them. Fight over them if you have to. lol They were THAT good! For the main dishes, we shared the French toast, chilaquiles, and shrimp and grits, along with house-made bacon and butterball potatoes. The French toast and bacon were my favorites by far. My goodness. I am still thinking about them. The shrimp and grits were also perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. What made me laugh was that our group is usually very chatty. There was so much talking, catching up, and laughing. Then the food arrived and suddenly all you heard were forks and spoons hitting plates followed by a bunch of "mmm," "oh wow," and "girl! you've got to try this." That's when you know the food is doing its job. Our server was amazing and took such great care of us. Everything came out smoothly, and we never felt rushed. Between the beautiful setting, incredible food, and being surrounded by people I love, it was one of those afternoons I'll always remember. I'll absolutely be back, and those biscuits and French toast will be the first things I order.
