The yellow curry with chicken, volcano green beans with tofu and basil chicken were all hot and delicious when they arrived. The ingredients were fresh and perfectly cooked. The yellow curry has lots of great flavor, so much so that I saved the remaining curry sauce to have with brown rice tomorrow. I went here on Saturday April 27,2019 because I was in the area. I was excited to get their mango fried rice. Unfortunately, they gave me pineapple fried rice instead even though my order receipt said mango fried rice. I was disappointed, but I love pineapple fried rice so I figured it would be cool. Unfortunately, the dish sucked. They put pea pods, tomatoes, peas and carrots in this dish which I found bizarre. Especially since I've actually been to three regions of Thailand and are in each one- never did I get fried rice like that. It also was sad that the dish was so bland. The pineapple was good- but obviously not fresh more so from a can. I also got the Bangkok Golden which is basically crab Rangoon. These were really good! I really had a lot of hope for how good the food would taste here, but I was severely let down. Maybe it's me being a NYC girl (spoiled by the amazing Thai food we have there) but I've never had Thai food that was so blah before. I would never go here or recommend it to anyone. While watching playoff hockey on Versus, I became hungry and needed to feed - I didn't want to leave the sight of my television, even for a second, afraid to miss a goal (even though I have a DVR and could rewind easily). Instead of cooking I decided to get something delivered. Usually my go-to spot is Wang's on Broadway but I decided to try Lemon Thai. Why Lemon Thai? Well first off, it's very close to my place. Secondly, I had driven by it a thousand times and noticed its more than decent ratings on Yelp. Thirdly, my roomie ordered from there in the past with much success... After glancing at the menu on Foodler I decided to get some Thai vegetable rolls, a shrimp-free Pad Thai and a sprite. Including the trip and the delivery fee, this meal fit for a king cost me less than $20 and less than twenty minutes later the meal arrived at my apartment, pipping hot. The Thai rolls were delicious and perfectly fried. The cabbage in it along with the carrots were great although I noticed that they tasted a lot better dipped in the sauce which came with it than without somehow. The pad thai was pretty standard although not as oily as others I've had in other establishment which was nice. All in all this is a great, modest Thai restaurant which serves much better food than it's exterior would lead one to think. I guess one shouldn't judge a book by it's cover? It was a Tuesday. Which is the worst day of the week in my opinion. Time for delivery. We ordered 1 app and 2 entrees. Took nearly an hour to arrive, which was a bit unfortunate since we could have easily just walked over there but were just being lazy. The delivery guy was apologetic though. And we had wine, so the situation could have been much worse. This isn't the cheapest Thai food I've found in the area. But it may possibly be the tastiest. I ordered online right from Yelp, which was nice. I tried the beef red curry and crispy chicken pad Thai. I asked for both to be hot. They were both mild. Very disappointing! The red curry felt like it was missing something. The flavor wasn't developed in the sauce at all. Wanting to fulfill my long overdue pad thai craving, I decided to eat at Lemon Thai with a good friend. Reading the reviews, I was very hopeful and had high expectations. First off, coming into the restaurant it is very informal. You seat yourself and there's only a few tables with three chairs to each table, so if you're with a big group plan accordingly. There's also an open kitchen which is neat. Anyway, I came in at 12:45pm and ordered the lunch special chicken pad thai and my friend ordered the crystal noodles with the crispy chicken. We both got the Thai iced tea and it was delicious. Very refreshing and beautifully presented! It wasn't too sweet and it did not have an overwhelmingly strong thai tea flavor, perfect combination of tea and sweetness. The entrees, however, had me wanting more. The pad thai had a very fish saucy taste to it and it didn't have much of a tamarin taste either, which is essential in pad thai. My friend's crystal noodle dish wasn't much flavorful either but the crispy chicken was very crispy and delicious on the other hand. Overall for food I would give a 5/10, just OK nothing too special. Service here is very good, our waitress was very attentive and sweet. I have no complaints about the staff. I would probably come here again for the thai tea but not the food. read more

The Crispy chicken pad Thai has become a staple for work lunches on work from home days. I've also discovered that I'm a fan of their red curry and Panang curry. Both curries pack a slightly above benign heat - strong enough to feel like it's spicy and at a level that allows the food to still be tasty and enjoyable. There's good depth to the curries - nice blend of spices and level of saltiness for both. The crispy chicken is crunchy and awesome. Tom kha soup is flavorful and delicious too. Service is friendly and their delivery time is reasonable. Prices are standard. In person pickup is, of course, a shorter wait! Dining in is an option too although there are only about 4 tables. This spot is a great fixture in the neighborhood and definitely consistent in quality (at least that's my assessment of them for the past 5 months or so). Lastly, they are next door to other nearby quick eat restaurants including a spot where you can get cheap boba!! Worth the takeout (they'll punch holes in the cover for your crispy chicken - thanks for being mindful Lemon Thai!!). Yum and thank you. read more

After ordering here a few times- delivery and once pickup.. this is a great place. Especially for the amount of food for the money! I came on a Wednesday night around 6pm. Very very busy- phone constantly ringing as people are coming in to pick up their order. I should've ordered online beforehand, but I ordered when I got there. Waited about a half hour... didn't like the wait but food was amazing. The good thing about delivery is there is no minimum. Lemon Thai was the first restaurant I visited when I first moved to Somerville and I have a soft spot for it. It was in waking distance to my apartment so ordered often and was never disappointed. That being said, there are many Thai spots in the city to choose from and over the years I did. I can honesty say none were as fresh and delicious as Lemon. I will always order from Lemon Thai. Walking distance is the main factor. But, I also like the family that runs the place: the daughter who takes the orders, the brother who delivers, the mom who cooks, and the grandpa who cuts up the boxes. (I actually don't know if any of them are related to one another, but in my mind I like to pretend they are one happy family.) However, here is an important piece of advice: Beware of the seafood. Lemon Thai has never led to a full food poisoning experience, but it's been close a couple times for me and the bf (shrimp salad a year ago and scallop special more recently). So stick to the delicious tom kha, the country-style pad thai, the 'crazy' (as opposed to 'drunken') noodles, and the coconut curries. Go veggie and you can't go wrong! read more

Got pretty solid take out from here today. It's not the best in the world, but definitely tasty, and an improvement on other lunch takeout options in the Somerville area. The Tom Yum soup was a little disappointing. The broth was awesome and flavorful but there wasn't much in it - 2 shrimp, a piece of tomato, a couple pieces of cilantro and 2 mushrooms, diced up. I'm used to this from takeout places so I ordered a side of steamed vegetables to mix in, but after reading so many positive reviews, I was hoping for more. I need to start just making tom yum myself instead of trying (and being disappointed by) every thai takeout spot in Somerville. The green curry is super delicious (I opted for the crispy chicken which I strongly recommend) but I wish you had the option to substitute rice noodles instead of white rice. I also loved the scallion pancakes. They come with an awesome green curry dipping sauce that I was super digging. Slightly weird experience with delivery: they forgot the thai iced coffee when they brought my food and the delivery guy asked me "do you still want it?" Ummm...yes? Yes, I would like the things that I ordered and paid for. I get that a drink is pretty small and it's annoying for you to make the trip twice, but I wasn't the one who forgot it. My favorite thai in the area. Their pad thai and fried rice is awesome and I get consistently great quality. Food is ready quickly and I've never had issues when picking up. Wow, I've never experienced Thai food this bad. I was seriously in the mood for Thai food and ordered food through EAT24. My order was simple: Pad Thai with Tofu and a Thai Iced Tea. I waited and waited for the food to arrive while my stomach was growling with discontentment. It took over an hour for the food to arrive, when it was only supposed to be 45 minutes. Of course by the time it arrived I was ravenous and immediately started to dig into my big, hot portion of Pad Thai. I took one bite of it and then stopped. What was I eating? This was not pad thai like I've ever eaten it before. It was 95% rice noodles with a pathetic amount of green beans and broccoli on top. Not only that, but it tasted nothing like pad thai. It tasted unabashedly like fish and nothing else. As a vegetarian I have come to accept that many asian cuisines use fish sauce in their dishes. I have come to terms with this, but only because it is not the main flavor of the food and usually not something I can taste at all. Not this time! My food tasted like fish and was completely inedible. I called the restaurant and and explained the situation. They immediately offered to send something else instead. I had paid in cash and they were therefore unable to refund me, so I accepted, but it was already too late. The replacement food arrived half an hour later, but by then I was unable to eat anything at all. My stomach HURTS! I ate about four bite fulls of the food and I am unable to eat anything else tonight. I've been nauseous ever since the food touched my lips and all I want to do is purge myself of whatever I have consumed. I don't usually write such damning reviews, but WOW I have also never had such an adverse reaction to such a small amount of food. I give them one star for their service. They were very accommodating, but I seriously cannot eat their food. I was so disappointed in it. I tried their spring rolls and they tasted bland and oily. Their Pad See Ew, even though I asked for them to leave out the fish sauce, still tasted fishy. I tried this place last night because I was looking for somewhere to eat in between work and seeing my co-worker's circus performance at the armory! When I first walked by I was disappointed that all of the few tables were taken. However, this is always a good sign that the food is good, and a little while later I went in and got seated. I ordered the country pad Thai, which seemed to be a more authentic pad Thai with more spice and dried shrimp, and a Thai iced tea to keep me awake and help with the spice. I was really hungry at the time, and this dish was delicious. It was definitely hot, but the spice did not overpower the other flavors, and the heat was very appreciated as it was 15 degrees outside. BOTTOM LINE: Our go-to place for Thai takeout. The space has a few seats, but I've never seen anybody actually eat there. Every time I pass the restaurant they're carrying takeout by the armload for delivery. Good sign? Yes. Since we live down the street, we don't order delivery. We ordered for pickup and it's ready in less than 30 minutes, especially the pad thai. Also their website WORKS and has a complete menu. A precious and rare thing among the takeout spots in the area. Went there for lunch yesterday. I was drawn by the good reviews, and it was near where I was for business. We were two people, and we shared fried dumplings, shumai, and the country Pad Thai. I loved the shumai...some of the best I have had. The dumplings were OK, but they were deep fried instead of pan fried, and I didn't like that preparation as much. If in doubt, get the "old country pad thai." You won't regret it. I keep telling myself to try more variety on their menu, but their old country pad thai (not to be confused with their regular pad thai) must have crack in it because it's so addictive. It's the perfect balance of sweet, savory, salty and depth of flavor. I end up adding more hot sauce because I love spicy, but it's got a nice kick to it on it's own. I ordered the country pad Thai and forgot to say no peanuts and it was like the bottom of the bag lefties I couldn't even eat it. I've ordered this dish 3 times and the country pad Thai I ordered extra spicy and man was it spicy I could barely eat it but I did couldn't get it into my mouth fast enough. The lady at the front was not wearing one and proceeded to brush her hair near the area of food. Absolutely disgusting and unhygienic. When I called to make a complaint, the lady at the front (who was brushing her hair near food and not wearing mask) dodged my request to speak to a manager. Last March, I moved to a place a block down from Lemon Thai. For the first month, I couldn't eat there - I'd feel like I was cheating on Thai Gardens, my old lunch stomping ground in sunny F-L-A. After more than a few disappointing sandwich deliveries, I opted to give Lemon Thai's green curry a whirl. I say, I say, I say hot damn. For $9, you get a quart of the stuff - chock full of thick, tendercrisp veggies, hearty mushrooms and succulent chicken. The curry itself is killer with just the right heat and just the right sweet. Not heavy or slick and served with enough rice to make for a double-mealer, this order steals the show from other lackluster options (including the pad thai, sorry Kenny C. and Jamie A.!) I wasn't expecting much at all from this place the first time I walked through those door, but my boyfriend insisted it was good, so I went along with it. Turns out, the boy knows what he's talking about! (Occasionally) ;-) You must order: Crazy noodles. Maybe I'm just obsessed with wide rice noodles stir fried to perfection with crisp veggies and perfectly fried tofu. Call me crazy. But this is sooooo good. You also must order: The scallion pancake!
