I got an appt with Stevie who cut and styled my hair. The blow out was great and she was so sweet. It was like talking to an old friend. Well I returned and have since colored my hair different shades at different times of course, balayage, highlights, Brazilian Blowout and of course cuts. She's great on recommendations and what would potentially work for me. I adore Stevie. She's wonderful in what she does. The staff in general are all dolls. They just put you in a happy mood. I decided bleaching my own hair would be a good idea and then colouring it blue. Ummm, no. So I called for an appointment with sadness in my voice, wasn't feeling pretty at all. Sadly, they were booked for that day (Saturday) which I kinda expected as Saturdays are usually one of the busiest days in the beauty industry. Anyway, about 15 minutes later, the owner calls me back and said to come in at x time and she'll cut my hair and do my roots. We could handle the colour correction at a later appointment. I was so so excited and grateful! Tammy said I just sounded so sad and she just felt bad that they couldn't so she figured out a way to work me in. I could have cried! Arrived on time and she took one look and said "OK, we can fix this and we WILL fix this!" I love a woman with a can do attitude and plan. She made me a custom colour for my roots and she did some beauty magic in the back room and fixed my crazy blue bleachy hair. Then she got busy with her scissors and made my shortish fluffy hair tamed and ever so pretty. When I left, my whole heart was happy. I felt as pretty inside as my outside hair looked. We also made a plan for me to come and have a Keratin treatment with my next touch up. I did have it and loved it. I was worried about ending up with pin straight hair but it was not frizzy and still held my curls. Just love love Tammy and her team I also would like to say, I watched as Tammy taught her newest stylist (fresh out of beauty school) with a kindness and ease. The new stylist was doing really well but Tammy explained why a certain technique was used and why it helped the client. I really liked how she taught and still kept the appointment moving along. I was thoroughly confident in having the stylist do my blowout. I highly encourage you to visit Tammy and her fabulous team. They will listen and offer you suggestions based on their professional knowledge. Parking: a public lot across the street. Read the signage. Most of the time it's free but (I think) Farmer's Market Saturdays there is a fee. There is a lot somewhat behind the store, accessed through the street before the store. There are two hairdressers and they both speak English fluently as their first language. Not to say that if the stylists spoke a different language that would be a bad thing. I've gotten wonderful cuts at other salons from people who (shocking) speak English as a second language. I've been going there for years. It's reasonably priced, the service is great and the stylists are super friendly. So either she's lying or she reviewed the wrong salon. ******** I got the Groupon. Made an appointment and it turns out I know the stylist from high school, like 40 million years ago. I showed her the color I wanted and explained that I am very simple with hair style, basically just need a deep trim. She got the color together and put it in my hair. As my hair was soaking up the dye, she worked on another client, cutting and blow drying her hair. Fast forward to the end, because the middle is boring stuff. My hair is cut and dried, and it looked soooooo good. I couldn't stop saying, "Lisa!! It looks so good! You got the color exact. Look at the picture. It looks just like it!!!" The only suggestion I'd make is the sinks are up too high. I'm short and had to hold myself up keep my head over the sink. They should be lowered so we can rest our necks in the dip part. I'll typically tame my mane with 1-2 professional cuts per year and occasional trims that I personally administer. Teresa @ silk blew all my negative associations away. Not only was she real (unlike most hairdressers who pretend to be your best friend and shower you with ridiculous compliments) She didn't push any extra products, she listened to me and she gave me one awesome Moroccan oil treatment & haircut. I wasn't charged the long hair tax and I got a fantastic deal on both of the services. Silk ALWAYS seems to have some ridiculous promotion or discount going on whether it be on their website, in the paper or on groupon. Additionally, the salon was quiet, clean and pleasant. ...I may actually consider getting 3 haircuts a year!

Usually it's just a touch-up, highlights and haircut. Today's haircut was just $25. They keep to their appointments (they also take walk-ins), everyone is friendly and the place looks clean and very professional. It's all I ask for in a hair salon. I will return and use some of their other services. When I do, I'll update this review. Why not give them a call yourself and try them out? They always have coupons in the paper and here on Yelp. Short hair was just not a great look for me. I began to think about extensions and came across several reviews of Hair Addict on local Facebook and Instagram reviews. I also stalked their IG page and noticed some beautiful work she had done for charity to a woman that lost her hair due to brain cancer. It was incredible and I had to check this salon out. In November of 2021, I walked into Hair Addict, without an appointment, to check them out. I was greeted by her amazing staff who introduced me to Angela, the owner. I was so depressed and I think Angela really felt for me! I hated my hair and always wore a hat to cover it. Angela immediately made time for me to evaluate my hair and discuss the process of extensions. I then discussed the cost of services and ordered my new hair. A week later, I was transformed! I felt beautiful and more like myself again! I cried and then Angela gave me a hug and we cried together! In those moments in life, all the sacrifices you make come full circle. I know it is just hair but it was really important to me and my confidence was boosted. Angela and her staff do impeccable work. Angela is a master in her craft and is constantly educating herself and her team in her field of expertise. If you get to know her well enough, you will know her backstory, her struggle and see why she loves what she does and puts her heart and soul into her work. I will NEVER again go to another salon.
