Great place to eat anytime of day and the staff I wish I could take them back to NY to train our restaurants how a customer should be treated. They got a 4 star because it's very good but not the best thing ever. Also the diner atmosphere in the morning is casual but it gets a little more sophisticated at night but its still not dressy more a nice casual. Family owned and you can tell right down to the staff that they take pride in what they do, and do well. Oh get the chocolate mouse cake :) now I'm hungry. read more

We ate here this morning and enjoyed it. The service was great and we were seated quickly, no wait. Our son ordered one pancake and it came as Mickey Mouse. My husband had an omelette and I had poached eggs. Coffee was good compared to hotel. Definitely will try and eat here once more prior to heading back to Chicago. read more

I truly enjoyed my visit to the Lemon Tree Restaurant. It is a fabulous place for breakfast or lunch. I have enjoyed both. The special breakfast I had was for my birthday. My two daughters brought me for a lovely breakfast. I had a wonderful omelet and basket of wonderful muffins. This is a very good place for breakfast and I don't want to be too critical. However, it's because it has so much else going for it that I need to nit-pick. Why can't they make a good omelet? The omelets are like tacos: a thoroughly cooked egg disc with meat/vegetable filling. That's not an omelet. You need to put the meat/vegetables in the pan first, and then add raw egg mixture so the whole thing is cooked together. At Lemon Tree, the ingredients are just side-by-side, not blended. Their meals expensive; they should send their cooks to a good restaurant to learn how to make omelets. read more

We ate here during our recent trip to Vero Beach. I had the eggs benedict and they were good, but not the best I've had. I agree with a previous review about the hollandaise sauce being runny and needing more consistency. My husband had the pumpkin pancakes which he said were tasty. Moooo! Cattle Call! 5X Breakfast & lunch as guest (my partner insisted). Twice our plates were removed before we were through. We were trying to digest for goodness sakes. The Hurriedness of this place makes for an uncomfortable environment. I felt stressed and you are packed in like sardines. Food is nothing special. With their hurriedness and table turn over their prices should be less. The little muffins and sherbert are a nice touch, but get real....you are paying for it and it is an usher out the door. I dare you to attempt to enjoy a cup of coffee after eating your breakfast. They were nice enough to bring me a to go cup I hadn't asked for. Go to the Vero Beach Hotel. This place is my wife and my favorite place to go for the "around the corner" family-style Breakfast restaurant (they do dinner, but we've never been. We usually go before a day at the beach, or on a Sunday before church). Great quality food, always and never been disappointed by the food or service. Very family friendly...our little ones know to expect to play or color with the little basket they have for the kids, and to expect a lolly pop on the way out! They also always bring them pancakes in the shape of Mickey Mouse, and bring little complimentary muffins :) read more

Unfortunately since the new management took over, it's just not the same. Much longer waiting for table, front desk is not very professional and it seems as if their is a new cook! We waited close to 35 minutes - 3 of us - to be seated, then ordered our regular breakfast. It took 25 minutes to be served. Eggs were warm, potatoes were not fresh - like they were sitting there under a heat lamp and waffle - flat and overdone, rubbery. I am so sad since this was our favorite place to eat for the last 3 years. The last two times have not been good. I think all the staff/waitresses, cooks that were great have left. Need to really evaluate this business and get it back to being a great place to eat or you will only have tourists and not locals. Can't survive without the locals. read more

The Lemon Tree is an upscale diner catering to the beach crowd. It serves good fresh seafood. The mangrove snapper and the pompano aren't always available, but they are delicious. They also have a tasty chicken picata and classic meatloaf. Everyone is served a complimentary tart lemon sorbet for dessert. Lemon Tree is a bit overpriced for the food and ambiance. this place is a gem. stopped in for lunch during a short stay in vero beach with my family, and we couldn't stop raving about it for the rest of the day. the decor is adorable (think: LEMONS!) and you can tell that it's a place the locals frequent. they have a great, unique menu with sandwiches, soups, and entrees. both my mom and i got the chicken guacamole club, which was served on focaccia, yum! literally one of the top 5 sandwiches i've had in my life. the cherry on top was the complimentary sorbet at the end of the meal. the waitress was a sweetheart, and the manager stopped by our table to thank us for our business. i wish i lived closer! read more

My wife and I visit family regularly in Vero beach and had eaten lunch at The Lemon Tree a number of times before. Unfortunately, recently we experienced an extremely negative encounter with the manager, who was incredibly rude. I have never placed a rating with Yelp, but this experience was so awful that we walked out of the resturant even before ordering. If I owned that resturant, I would fire that manager. If that manager also owns the Lemon tree, then he would be doing himself a favor if he fired himself. read more

RUDE BEYOND BELIEF. Jessica who waits tables & claims to be a manager & the pudgy bleached blonde guy at the host stand should not interface with the public. They have no people skills. Not sure why they still have a job based on all of the complaints customers have posted about them. Good thing for them they're at a mom & pop in a small town. Any decent restaurant would replace them. We encountered many personable, knowledgeable servers in Vero Beach. The owner was nice but we are not sure his restaurant will survive if his staff doesn't lose their nasty attitudes. We advised our concierge of our experience. We will be in VB on business on a regular basis but will never spend another dime at the Lemon Tree. We also shared our experience with more than than 30 people at our resort. You would think the owners would correct the problem after reading so many negative reviews. We changed three dinner reservations based on customer feedback. People do care about how others are treated. I never would have gone to Lemon Tree had I read their reviews. The food is inconsistent at best. It was not great but decent on our first visit. The second time we ate there, the grits were cold & the pancakes were dry & chewy. It's too bad because we always try to support local small businesses. Having traveled the world as an executive in the hospitality industry, Jessica and the blonde guy were by far the most arrogant server and host I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. Avoid this place for breakfast. Everything is simply frozen and microwaved in the back except the toast. Even the omlettes are pre made and they just fold in the middle the ingredients you want and nuke it, potatoes, pancakes, everything. "Fresh squeezed" OJ Delivered to you in a plastic bottle. High priced to boot. This was our first time at the Lemmon Tree and overall we were extremely pleased. My wife and I went in for breakfast after reading all the positive comments about this restaurant and we are glad we did. We were seated after a 15 minute wait, our waitress came to our table soon after and took our order she was friendly and pleasant. Food arrived in a timely manner, eggs were cooked just like we like them and the pancakes were great. I tried their corned beef hash and it was very tasty, will definitely order again the next time we stop by this area. It was refreshing to see the cooperation amongst the employees making sure everyone was taken care of. Breakfast two days running at this upscale diner experience. Omelet with spinach and mushrooms was delicious and the breakfast croissant was huge. One the second day they gave us a free breakfast because we were asked to move tables to accommodate a party of 16. We didn't think it was necessary but the manager insisted. Made my third visit to Lemon Tree yesterday for lunch. We had the special of the day, quiche with fresh fruit. The quiche was wonderful. Very well flavored and homemade crust. Service was excellent. My only complaint about the restaurant is that you have to do it their way. I have read other comments about the free sorbet or free wine served at dinner. Nothing is free. They will not split checks. They will not allow you to use the cell phone ( I assume this means for texting but I didn't ask). You will pay $3 to split a meal. A lot rules for a restaurant with 20 tables. If the "rules" don't bother you will have a wonderful meal. read more
