ok...i think this is yet another example of small town tastes over-hyping what would otherwise be big city average. let me start by saying the place was pretty crowded and had a cool vibe when we came in. so we sat and waited 10 mins....nobody ever showed up.....had to flag down a waiter...then we got a lady that was kind of distant....rarely ever came by...spent all her time laughing with the regulars...we ordered the chicken satay and lettuce wrap appetizers...average....then we did the chicken red curry.....old school pad thai...and beef fried rice...all excellent. the blackberry mojito was also really good. BUT.....this place was like a "good" place in Chicago. i would have gone 4 stars with better service. but it was good food, cool atmosphere and a pretty creative drinks list. read more

Great service with food to match. Lemon Grass was a pleasant surprise visiting quad city. The waitresses were extremely friendly and could not do enough for you. My water was never empty. Best Asian fusion my wife and I have ever had. Great food and something for everyone. I like really exotic spicy flavors while my wife has a very conservative pallet. We had the sate, (excellent but the chicken was a tad overcooked and thus dry), green salad (that peanut salad dressing might be the best I've ever had), egg drop soup (very good with lots of scallions), and for entrees, I had the pho (incredible) and my son had a bento box with pad woon sen (phenomenal). I ordered the Pad Thai noodles and asked them to make them spicy. It comes with white rice on the side. It was suuuuuper delicious, asking for it spicy made it super hot but I love spicy food so worth it! My friend ordered the Kimchi Soup which has beef and tofu with veggies. His was also super delicious, the broth was really savory. We ordered Vietnamese hand rolls which are your typical Vietnamese spring rolls. These came with shrimp, definitely recommend. read more

This food is AMAZING!! I am from Houston, my husband is from the QC, so when we are in town, we love to visit our favorite places. This is Number ONE! Houston has some of the most ethnic food in the US and, trust me when I say, this is on par with some of the best restaurants in Houston that I've been to! Everything is extra, super fresh. I had the ramen, which was true comfort food. Crisp veggies with noodles and a sauce to die for! My husband had garlic chicken; just the right amount of sweet, not salty at all, delicious, fresh veg! This place is JUST.SO.GOOD! Honestly as good, or better than, anything you'd find in Houston! Also, super fast service; in and out in like 30 minutes. I absolutely love this place. I eat a LOT of Asian food (and admittedly, not much else) and this is some of the best I've had in this area. The pho is very authentic tasting and comes with a lot of extras you can add (bean sprouts, mint, lemongrass, chili paste, and black bean sauce, from what I remember). Absolute garbage! I had the lemon grass steak. it tasted like Jack Links beef jerky from the gas station had been marinated in lemon pledge. This place was bustling on a Thursday night. I placed an order togo, and waited at the bar. Staff was friendly and food came out in 15 minutes. I didnt try a signature cocktail, but they all look very interesting, I will next time. The Tom Kha was on point, as well as drunken noodles. Large portions, fair price. This is my favorite restaurant in the Quad Cities... and I have lived here my whole life. Everything about this place is amazing -- the food, service, atmosphere, quality, etc. I used to come here almost every week while I was in college, now I go about once every three weeks. Nevertheless, the waitresses know my name and are always the sweetest and kindest people ever. I have never gotten anything bad here, everything is fresh and wonderful. I've had most of their noodle dishes and curries and can't say enough great things about them. I've never heard anyone say something negative about this place, either. It is definitely not a hidden gem (because everyone knows about it!) but so worth trying if you're in the area. The best Thai place in the QC hands down. read more

Nico's was where we were headed, but they had the kitchen was closed fro 2 days for remodeling. So we walked down the street to Lemongrass. The were swamped. I imagine Nico being closed caused some of that, we were seated at same time as group of 4 next to us, in about 3 minutes. I ordered a yellow curry, and wife ordered an egg dish. Another couple was then also seated near us. Group 4 gave order. 3-4 min later they took our order. Then the next couple. The group of 4 received their order, then then next couple. Then the group of 4 finished and left. By then i had to ask, hey, did you forget our order or lose it? The server then brought our order. Very strange. That being said, for as swamped as they were, the food was wonderful! Fresh, hot, and tasty. Then asked waitress for some soy to put on wife's rice to take home. 10 minutes later, i walked over and asked again. Waitress had forgot, again they WERE swamped. All in all, not bad. I have to say I was a little disappointed when I got here. I was expecting Lemon Flavored Grass. I had been sampling Kentucky Blue Grass, and Rye Grass at home so the thought of having Lemon flavored Grass was enticing. But when I arrived they didnt have Grass. I settled for a Lettuce Wrap and I found a Dandelion growing in the sidewalk out front. I was going to get the Lemongrass Soup but after asking the ingredients discovered there was no Lemongrass in it. So why call it lemongrass soup?? We went here for after reading the good Yelp review. The food was average and the drink was not much better. The bad part of the restaurant was the service and the water. Why water? Because they use it in everything they cook and in the drink they serve. They must have gone through a remodeling process and spilled some motor oil in the pipe. The revitalization of the area is wonderful. It's in the process of becoming a welcoming part of town. Lemongrass is the perfect kind of restaurant needed there. Clean and casual but also quality. We were a party of 4, double date. It's a bit loud but the waitress was on point. The Gra paw was flavorful with just a tiny pinch of heat. The general's chicken was well made. Ok, yet another wonderful review here to add to the pile! The service, food and atmosphere were fantastic! We started with the Sateh appetizer, which is mildly spiced grilled chicken on a stick served with delicious peanut sauce, pickles, and grilled bread triangles. My kids devoured them (as did we)! My husband ordered the Dirty Fried Rice - best fried rice ever! A little spicy, but not over the top. Portion was huge. I ordered the Moo Krob Gra Pow. Very yummy - sauce was excellent. I had the kids split a portion of Poor Man's Noodles. They loved it - sweet sauce and huge portion as well. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes! read more
