Very cute cafe with good espresso drinks. I'm glad I asked how many shots of espresso come in each size, because it's two for all of them. A 10oz latte with 2 shots wouldn't have had the flavor balance I enjoy, but I typically will order the smallest size available. I ordered the 12 oz and I'm glad I did. The service was quick and kind but not overly friendly. This is a friend's favorite spot in Holland so I thought I'd give it a try. I was on my way somewhere so had to get my latte to go. Stopped in Holland while visiting family and I'm glad that we checked this place out! Lots of seating inside and out and the place was PACKED. We were here on Mother's Day, which probably explains that. I ended up getting an iced latte with maple and my boyfriend got a mocha. Not from around town, but we were delighted to have stopped by Lemonjello's Coffee before heading to the airport. First things first, the staff were very nice. Everything they recommended I got and they were all delicious! I love how they have "mood lattes" -- the unique name makes it feel like I'm drinking something fancy. I ordered the buzz latte which was espresso with local honey and vanilla. They had a bunch of baked goods on display and we were won over by the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffin and the GF chocolate chip cookie. I enjoyed the muffin very much because usually most pumpkin baked goods are during October -- so it feels real a treat. We ordered the "Handheld sandwiches"-- i think it's named that because one adult hand can hold it? Haha either way they were delicious! The Egg + Cheddar Sandwich and the Prosciutto + Egg + Cherve sandwich were good. We also got the "grilled cheese" but I would skip this one. Looks like a good place to come and get your work done if you're a student! There's lots of tables and open seating. Overall, food and coffee was good and gave us the energy we needed! read more

Loved the vibes in this cute coffee shop downtown holland. It was extremely busy, which is when you know you've found a good spot. Iced coffee was delicious and my husband loved his cortado. Just a little disappointed by this shop. I ordered a hot mocha and my bf ordered a decaf. They didn't explain to him that the decaf was self serve (nor give him a cup like we saw them give to other customers as they paid), so we waited and waited until we finally asked about his coffee and he had to reach around the counter to get his cup. My mocha tasted awful, I couldn't even drink it. We also had purchased coffee beans, asked for them to grind it fine for a moka pot (espresso) and the employees had no idea what a moka pot was and didn't want to grind it for fear of not getting it right... maybe if you don't know your coffee brewing methods and their appropriate grind sizes, just sell pre-made grounds to take the guessing out. Otherwise cute logo, great location, and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They just need to improve their mocha syrup or something - it was undrinkable. read more

On a recent trip to Holland, Michigan, Yelp took us to Lemonjello's, a popular coffee shop on the outskirts of the main strip across the street from a historic church. We went on a Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. in July and it was packed. Both the inside and outside tables were full and the line to order took around 15 minutes to get to the front. By the time we got there, most of the fresh pastries were gone, BUT they do sell a day old pastries for super cheap. A mountain of those were left. The coffee menu is large and they do have decaf coffee. I ordered the miel, essentially a latte with honey and cinnamon, and it was not bad. It's easy to rate this place at 5 stars as it's one of my favorite coffee joints in Holland. There's always phenomenal service, the coffee is absolutely amazing, and I love that there is zero waste. One of my favorite drinks to order is from their selection of "mood lattes" that are named after moods haha. Today I ordered the "comfort" which consists of white chocolate, hazelnut, and vanilla. They come in 8, 12, & 16 oz cups and I also appreciate that they offer plenty of non dairy milk alternatives. Another favorite drink they have here is the "green army guy" which is apple soda, strawberry, and a literal green army guy hahaha. So fun! Definitely check this place out if you can! It gets pretty busy and filled with Hope College students but that's just because it's awesome.:) read more

I have been to Lemonjello's in the past, and I knew when I was coming to Holland I would be stopping by. It is conveniently located right across from the Haworth Hotel on Hope College's campus. We came on a Monday during the summer, and there were only 2 people in line ahead of us. There were many open tables inside and outside. The positives: the raspberry chocolate muffin was phenomenal. I wish I had gotten two. We also had the cinnamon muffin which was good, but paled in comparison to the raspberry chocolate chip. I ordered the Mellow latte iced, and it was pretty standard. We also had a peach mango smoothie which was fine. The negative: as previously mentioned, there were only two people ahead of us but they ordered multiple items. They did not take the names for any of the orders, so it was hard to tell whose items belonged to who. Multiple breakfast burritos were coming out, but not everyone was waiting inside so there was a lot of confusion surrounding whose order it was. I never heard my order called out (or if it was, I assumed it was the party ahead of me). I went up to the counter to ask if the one carryout box was mine, and the man who made the burritos was very annoyed. He said there was no name on the order, so he called and no one answered and he had no idea what it was. The person working the register was helpful, but the man preparing the food would definitely keep me from coming back. If I had been asked my name for my order I would have gladly given it, but they did not so it seems to be an operational issue on their end. The poor attitude from the employee was off-putting, but if the food had been good I would have overlooked it. The breakfast burrito I had was truly terrible. I ordered the Egg and Cheese burrito, which automatically comes with potatoes inside. The first bite of the burrito was entirely potatoes, and they were basically raw. There was absolutely no seasoning on the potatoes. The eggs were light and fluffy, but nothing in the burrito was mixed together. One bite is all uncooked, unseasoned potatoes, and the next was all egg. Towards the bottom I finally had some cheese, but it was mixed in with the potatoes. I am unsure if these are made fresh to order, or if the burritos are frozen and reheated. Either way, I have never encountered such undercooked potatoes in a dish. Would I return to Lemonjello's? Maybe, if there was no line. The muffin was fantastic, but the negatives really outweighed the positives on this last visit. The attitude of the employee really left a bad taste in my mouth, right along with the terrible potatoes in my breakfast burrito. read more

There was a line inside and it went outside the day I went. A customer behind me came inside to wait in line. One of the employees who was making the muffin batter yelled at the customer and told him to form the line outside and shut the door. Employee had a disgusting face and he slapped himself because he was so frustrated at people leaving the door open to wait in line. read more

It was ok. My parents and I literally drove up from Indiana just to try their coffee for the day, just as something to do on a Sunday. I ask the guy at the register to give me a green apple army guy and a hot latte. I got an iced latte and no army guy drink. The blackberry latte was not flavorful, and it was too much milk, and I wasn't even asked how much I wanted in it in the first place. I really wanted the drink with the army guy, so I went back into the shop again and had to stand in line to re-order something that I had already asked for previously. Very sad. read more

Last year, I enjoyed the most perfect, warm raspberry bran muffin at Lemonjellos. It left such an impression that I even attempted to recreate it at home. My attempt was tasty but definitely not a duplicate of the Lemonjello muffin. A year later, we're in Holland on a gorgeous snowy morning again! A quick yelp search revealed that this little shop does not open until 8 am. Do the people of Holland not drink coffee until 8 am on Saturdays? Strange, we thought. But, we're blue-collar-type-working people. Early rising is in the blood, you know. It takes all types my husband often says. No matter. The muffin will be worth the wait, I thought. So, we waited... got ready... walked from our hotel... We arrived at 8:15 am and got in line to order. Much to my dismay, there was nary a warm muffin in sight! In fact, the oven was not even full! (An employee did appear to be mixing some muffin batter behind the counter.) My little heart felt so disappointed! To sum it up: the coffee was fine, the day-old muffins alright. But be warned, if you're in town on a chilly Saturday and you're hoping for a fresh baked good to warm you from the inside out, do not arrive early. It's 8:40 and we're still watching for the elusive fresh muffins to emerge from the oven. read more

Absolutely understaffed! And employees are stressed and showing it in their attitude for example when I asked for a plastic fork or knife. The girl who took my order was pleasant enough but it's been 20 minutes and I still haven't received my oat milk latte but the honey bran muffin is pretty good. Still waiting on my husbands breakfast sandwich as well. Breakfast sandwich & latte were decent but not a good choice for a coffee shop this morning. I was in Holland for three days and stopped by every morning. It was close, there were at least a couple of vegan bakery options, and the oat milk latte was delicious. The one thing that sort of soured me was the staff. They were fine. Not particularly friendly but that's not a big deal. What got me was one person making fancy coffee drinks on a Friday morning. I waited almost 20 minutes just to order. Maybe someone called out sick or something. But no "sorry for the wait" or "thanks for your patience." That, combined with the slight frostiness the rest of the days was kind of a bummer. But the vegan berry muffins were pretty delicious. So I'll happily go back if I'm ever back in town. read more

This is a great little coffee shop in downtown Holland. It's got a great neighborhood feel but with everything handmade or local. Their is an outdoor seating area as well as a very spacious indoor area. They offer a "drop box" area for drip coffee so you can run in and fill up your mug if you're in a rush. Super convenient and great that this community can utilize the honor system so well. We ordered a black drip coffee and the honey cinnamon latte. If you intend to stay in while you enjoy your coffee it is served in addorable mugs, which is a nice touch. We also enjoyed the raspberry chocolate muffin and chocolate chip biscotti. My boyfriend brought me here this morning. When we got there the place was packed full of students, young parents, and workers. Being on vacation we decided to go here. The baristas (3 males) were working hard to make drinks and food. When the barista took our order they ran out of Nitro, so we order cold-brew coffee (one with no ice) bacon and egg breakfast sandwich, and a cinnamon chip muffin. The pastries look good and they bake everything on-site. Which it's good. The cinnamon chip muffin was warm and probably came out of the oven. The bacon and egg breakfast sandwich looked good too. The coffee is small which I like. Remind me of someone's house that you are visiting. With merchandise on the wall and shelves. I see that they carry MadCapp Coffee which I love. The service was great I didn't have to wait long for my order. The only downside they didn't have nitro cold brew. Hopefully, when we come back the nitro will be working and I will try one of their breakfast sandwiches. read more
