I called 4 different Hvac companies to repair my 1990 carrier heater. Each different technician said it's to old and they don't know how to repair it. And try to sell me a $12,000. Unit. My wife found a repair receipt back in 2011 from Lemos heating. I called spoke to a nice lady that connected me to a tech who I could tell has repaired everything. I explained the problem and over the phone he told me how to fix it. It was a $180.00 part that I simply unplugged the old one and plug in the new one. And now my heater works perfect. We have used Lemo's Heating and Air for any HVAC issues for the last 20+ years. I've started using him for my FIL residence also. The best thing about Jim is his honesty, followed closely by his fair pricing. Jim will fix your issue with the least amount of expense if he can. He replaced a flux capacitor in our AC unit a few years back and I asked if if we should just replace the unit as it was 15 years old. He checked out and said replacement wasn't necessary. I then asked him about our central heating unit and he said it was in great shape also. There's not many companies that wouldn't see this as an opportunity to gouge the customer and replace a perfectly functioning system for a $15K bill. I've never had an issue where the problem was mitigated on the first visit. I can't recommend anyone but Lemo's Heating and Air. read more

The owner, Jim, performed the inspection when I bought a home in June '21. He was quick to schedule, prompt, professional, courteous, incredibly fair and forthcoming about what he saw and recommended, without even a hint of trying to upcharge or oversell. Fast forward to February '23 and the heater unexpectedly stopped working. Different person responded, but still quick to schedule, professional, courteous, fair and forthcoming about what he saw and recommended. It ended up being the igniter needing replacement, but I get the feeling that a less scrupulous tech could've tried selling it as something much more extensive and expensive. Lemos has partnered with another company, likely in anticipation of Jim retiring and selling Lemos, so I hope the quality of service carries over. Regardless, I plan to stick with Lemos (and highly recommend to anybody in need) until, and hopefully not ever, I'm compelled otherwise by any change in how they conduct themselves. read more

What a bunch of lifesavers! Lemos was the second opinion that I had set up to rebut the claims of my home warranty selected first appt. Needless to say that first contractor was a mess and the problem was misdiagnosed. Enter Lemos. The technician arrived near the end of the appointment window which me worried based on past experience but thankfully that did not stop the technician from resolving our AC issues. The system issues were a head scratcher. The system would cycle on and off randomly and one time it would not start for the whole day. I did some testing myself and noticed power losses to the thermostat and the zone controller. I told the technician about this and then he began his work. Just as confounded as I was, the technician called for a senior technician to help diagnose the issues. This occured over a couple of hours and what I appreciated was the time that both technicians spent to try to resolve the issue. Initially they thought the issue could be a lack of power was due to a bad controller in the dual zone system. They did some testing and disconnected the system and in the end discovered the issue was a bad furnace control. The technician spent another hour installing and testing a new system and voila! The system was up and running. I waited a couple of weeks to make sure there wasn't any issues and that we got everything worked out in paying for the work done and I couldn't be happier. Further, the Lemos technician also noted that my system was in good shape and that I did not need to replace or upgrade my system. I appreciated his work ethic and his bosses as It seemed like the idea of leaving before the job was done did not cross their mind. It wasn't the last call at the end of the day that they wanted to power through quickly but instead a problem that needed a solution. Further their diagnosis and repairs saved me thousands of dollars. Our first home warranty selected technician said that we need to replace the entire system for around 13k. This technician got my system up and running at a tiny fraction of that cost. If you are looking for a great HVAC tech, give Lemos a call. I always recommend a second opinion and it's companies like this that show the difference between good and bad technicians! read more

James is awesome. My wife and I just moved into a fixer upper house with lots of "issues" which included a heating system that has never really worked. This winter we finally got tired of waking up to a house that was ~44 degrees and decided to submit a claim to our home warranty company to see if we could get help fixing the problem. The person that came out (Abbott HVAC) was incredibly condescending and said the only solution was to replace our entire system (after about 10 minutes of looking around) before abruptly leaving. Following this worthless diagnosis I called Lemos for a second opinion. James came out the next day and spent several hours helping us figure out the root cause of our heating issue. It turns out that we had some incredibly dirty coils that were blocking most of our airflow. James patiently and diligently cleaned the coils and got our system working better than it ever has. I am writing this review wearing shorts and a t-shirt inside...something I never thought would be possible in winter. I cannot emphasize just how refreshing it is to work with people that are highly professional and actually competent. I got a kick out of watching James figure out where our problem was coming from and then implementing the solution. He also took the time to explain exactly what he was doing which was really helpful. I am sure we will eventually have to replace our entire system but am glad that we don't need to do it right away. I can't stress enough how amazing this team is. Last year my A/C went out and Lemos was able to not only come out on fairly short notice, but fix the problem in a matter of minutes. A few weeks ago I was having trouble with my thermostat (no power to the R wire). When the tech arrived (same guy as last time) I explained the problem to him, he went up into the attic and came down 90 seconds later and told me to give it a try. Our air conditioning stopped working just as the weather was getting hot. I had just finished a round or radiation and was about to restart chemotherapy and was worried about being able to tolerate living conditions without air. I both emailed and called Lemos prior to their opening hours and received a phone call minutes after they opened, letting me know James would be out that morning to try to help us. James showed up and was not only one of the nicest people I've met, he was extremely knowledgeable and was able to repair our ancient unit in a very short amount of time. I didn't think my heater was producing the proper amount of heat. It had been years since I had my system serviced. So, I thought it was time to call Lemos Heating and Air, a service I have used several times in the past for our heating and cooling needs. James came out and after a brief discussion of my issues he put a thermometer on the exhaust vents to check the temperature coming out.....it turned out that the temperature was exactly what it should be and the furnace was working fine. James checked the duct work to make sure that no cold air was leaking and answered the many questions I had regarding both the heating and cooling systems. The bottom line is I didn't need anything done. Lemos Heating & Air Conditioning is a small family owned business that is honest as the day is long! I was lucky to find Lemos Heating by word of mouth in my neighborhood. I've had them come out to fix both my heater and A/C in the last 7 months. Last year my heater stopped working and Beutler wanted $1800 for the repair. James From Lemos was able to get my heater up and running for a 5th of the cost of what Beutler wanted! He was honest, forthright, and told me exactly what was going on with my heater, along with what to watch out for in the future. When my A/C stopped working in June, I had a home warranty coverage, but the contractor I was sent misdiagnosed my repair and wanted to fix my compressor along with new R22 refrigerant which was an extra $1300. I was stuck with my home warranty company forcing me to pay out of pocket for a faulty repair or else I was out of luck. Luckily Jim Lemos came by and had my A/C up and running right away for under $150. My family had been without A/C for over a week in triple digit days, until Lemos came to the rescue. In the few instances that Lemos has come out, they've saved me a ton of money along with having given me so much knowledge about my hvac system, they've got to be the best hvac company in town. I highly recommend this company as all their staff are very knowledgeable and honest. In my opinion, one of the most important things when you're dealing with a service that is both deeply technical and expensive (like your house AC system) is: can you trust the technician? Lemos explained every step of the problem with complete clarity. He fixed it quickly, because it was ultimately a simple issue (make sure your Nest has a common wire for power, instead of using the AC line for power). But most importantly: he didn't try to up-sell us, or disguise this behind some major crisis, in the middle of a heat wave, that would have cost us a lot of money. He could have, we wouldn't have known. He didn't. He even went as far as to tell us (when we asked) that he doesn't do those "spring AC tune ups" a lot of HVAC places do, because they're are mostly a scam. Their main purpose is to get some one inside your house to sell you things you don't need. This is a guy you can trust. This is a guy who earned a long term customer. read more

I called the office over the three day weekend and left a VM that I needed a diagnosis for my a/c unit since my blower fan stop working. They called me on Tuesday, September 5th, and said James can come out the next morning. James showed up, very nice guy, and determined the issue in 15 minutes. 5 star all the way. I was a little concerned as they gave me a 4 hour window between 1 and 5. I called the shop and at 4:15pm and said he was about 20 minutes away. He came within the window. He thought it was a vent switch, but did later diagnosis it as blocked furance vent and was charged a normal service call of $75. He totally could have said it was the switch but didn't. He didn't push any other services. His biggest recommendation is to change the air filter of your house every 3 months. I already do this. read more

I would love to come on here and leave a wonderful review I have had Lemo's come out to my house per my property management multiple times. Every time they are so nice respectful and do a great job. But the last time they came out a wire 20 feet long was completely missing from my ac unit. Just gone like someone came and ripped it out. The employees showed me and we were all baffled that it was just gone. We couldn't come to a conclusion to why it was missing. They replaced it but then told our property management our dog chewed it. Which is funny because how can a dog chew a cord 20 feet long without me finding it and it be not chewed BUT COMPLETELY GONE. So because they had to give a reason to the property management for the repair they blamed my dog saying "new line was removed by tenant and was PROBABLY destroy by dog or rodents" why on earth why I removed a wire to turn my ac off in the middle of summer when I have a new born at home?? To sit in the 100 degree house and sweat with a baby all day?? I called their "office assistant" When I asked to speak to owner she said no when I tried explaining situation she was rude I told her I had an appointment with my property management company and would like for them to have a phone conversation while at appointment so we can clear it up and she said no. then when I asked for owners name and their license number she said have a good day and hung up. "Probably" destroyed by dog without any evidence will not hold up in court. Good luck. read more

I'm reading all of these reviews and clearly the owner, Jim is selective with who he is friendly and shows good customer service to. Jim spent about 10 minutes at my home yesterday. He was hired to come over to service my air conditioner. I opened the door to let him in, asked him if he had shoe covers (our home is shoeless since we have a crawling baby) and he immediately interrupts and says he could check out back. I thought for sure he was coming back inside. He rings door bell and says it's fixed. He never came inside, I found that odd along with his unfriendly disposition. I called the office to ask for his name (he didn't even introduce himself, literally only said a few words to me) and manger's name, imagine my shock when I learned he was the owner. AC still not working. I called the agency that hired him. Jim out right lied, saying he was not allowed inside, so he only went out back. Sorry! But I wasn't aware that asking if he had shoe covers was a form of refusal. We would have made the exception for him. Our home was over 85 degrees and we have an infant, so we definitely would not have declined his inside diagnosis. He could have just said, no I don't or removed his shoes if he was open to that. Not sure what Jim's issue was, but our experience with him was not positive and we're currently seeking another AC repair person. read more
