Hubby scheduled an appointment for a quote for a new furnace and AC. They were supposed to be here between 12-2. We got a text at 1:58 that they are going to be on their way. It's going to be pretty awkward explaining to them that they are going to have to end the visit if the other company that we booked for a quote shows up as they too are on their way and actually on-time. No calls, no apologies on the text. First impressions are lasting. I encourage the company to be more proactive and timely to create good impressions. My wife and I recently moved into a new house and I did not know the condition of the HVAC system, so I scheduled a maintenance. The technician was very nice, and the price seemed to be solid. The technician advised me that the units were very very old but seemed to be running fine. He suggested I could do a couple things to make the heater run more efficiently, which was great. However, soon after he left the unit stopped working all together. I thought it was the thermostat because it was giving issues and thought it just quit. NOPE. I found myself crawling into the attic and reassembling the panels to the heater because they were not reattached correctly and not engaging the safety switch. Also, he pointed out that the thermostat had a blue wire but it was not connected. While in the attic, I noticed the blue wire was not connected to the heater. For doing a maintenance on the heater he sure missed a pretty important piece. There was also no reason why I needed to go into the attic to fix the heater THAT JUST HAD A SERVICE LESS THAN 24 HOURS EARLIER. Jaguar, please reach out to me. Unacceptable. read more

I am a realtor and the A/C at my current listing was just not blowing cold enough, so I had to call an HVAC company to come out and service the A/C. Jaguar Heating and Air was not my first choice as I just went down the list of HVAC companies with high ratings in the Elk Grove area and started calling. Some other companies had really high service calls, others were not available within a 2 day notice, some would apply the service call charge to the service (if something had to be fixed) while others would not. Jaguar Heating and Air was actually the 4th company I called and I am glad I did. When speaking with the receptionist, I immediately knew to book with them. The service call fee was $79 and would be waved if something had to be fixed and they were available when I needed them to come out. On. Friday afternoon (window of 2-4pm), I was messaged by their technician Jeff (also sent a picture of himself so I knew who I was meeting) just after 1:30pm that he was on his way and he arrived about 2:10pm. He was very pleasant, wore shoe covers whenever he came into the home. When he was diagnosing the A/C problem, I could tell he was very experienced. I already try to learn a little something from contractors when they are doing work as it helps me be a better realtor to my clients and Jeff was very willing to teach me and explain everything he was doing and why. It end up that the capacitor was old and was did not have the voltage to power the compressor well anymore, so he changed it out. He stayed around to check the temperature differences between the registers and air return (~18 degrees difference which was what it is suppose to be) and also made sure the temperature at the thermostat cooled. The charge to change out the capacitor was $364 -$79 service call fee = $285. I am very pleased with the professionalism of Jeff and Jaguar Heating and Air's ability to come on short notice! This company has been great every time I need them. You can schedule online and their techs are great to work with. I recently had my upstairs AC go out at 10pm and jumped on to their website and was able to schedule a 10am appointment the next morning during our heatwave in July. Techs reach out via text and keep you updated on service times, they even send a photo of themselves which I feel is a good business practice for certain people that live alone or are concerned about safety. I've had Edwin service our system several times and he's been great. They've sent out a couple other techs over the years and again always a good experience. Extremely happy with my AC repair from Jaguar H&A! My ac unit is over 20+ yrs old, but Jeff, the service tech was able to quickly trouble shoot and repair it! The furnace/ air handler in the attic required a new capacitor and the outside unit only required replacement of a wire. Jeff had everything up and running super fast. He also installed a new thermostat. It's been almost a week since my AC repair and it's been running beautifully, even with the triple digit temps we've been having! My husband and I are very disappointed with this company. They came out a couple years ago and we were very satisfied because the tech was punctual and fixed our issue in about 20 minutes. This time around our motor went out and they sent a tech out named Marc that was on a Bluetooth call the entire time he was here. He didn't speak to us at all, and if my husband or I tried talking to him, he would point to his ear to let us know he was busy on a phone call. I heard some of it and he was talking to one of his buddies, it wasn't work related. He only spoke to us when he was finished to let us know it was the motor that was the issue and that he would have to get back to us the next day because it was too late to get our part. It took us a few days to get the price because he wouldn't respond to us. He told us it would be a little over $1000 and then we couldn't get him to come back out. We called the actual company and told them that we've been waiting for him to come back out and they told us that they would get in touch with him to have him call us. he wasn't responding to text messages and the company stopped responding to our calls. I even messaged them on here and saw that the owner read it and didn't respond. So we reached out to a different company and they came out same day, which was 4th of July morning, and fixed it the following day for us. Thank God for the other company because we were literally dying in this heat wave. I really believe it's the tech that made the difference this time. Because last time the tech was extremely knowledgeable and efficient. This guy is obviously lazy and doesn't care about his job. read more

My Nest had suddenly told me it couldn't detect power to it and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what happened or how to fix it. Fun times in December to not have heat! Thank goodness for space heaters. Jaguar was highly recommended as being fairly priced, responsive, and these were all points that made me reach out to them, and that I would certainly vouch for! Response time to my inquiry was very quick and I was able to set up an appointment same day with a time window given, and upfront that the cost was $79 for diagnosis and waived if repairs were needed. Jeff texted me to ask if he could stop by earlier than expected since he was in the area, and aptly diagnosed the issue and fixed it to prevent it from happening again in the future. He was SO nice, clear in what happened, I most appreciate that it was straightforward, very fairly priced, and no hard sell on anything! Turned out to be a fuse replacement just needed to be done. HVAC issues are certainly not great and as a newer homeowner, I was lightweight freaking out about what this could run me (I tend to worse case scenario in my head haha) and finding a reputable place that I could trust. I was referred to Jaguar by a local HVAC company for assistance with a failed Nest installation. I reached out to their provided contact and was connected with Melissa, who was lovely to speak with. She was patient and understanding with what I needed done. Right off the bat I knew I would be getting good customer service with Jaguar. Husam, who was the serviceman that came to my home to assist with the installation was wonderful as well. Unfortunately, it was determined that my home used a unique control board/panel that isn't compatible with the Nest. He was a gentleman. He was patient with my questions (several repeated questions...) and explained thoroughly why it wasn't compatible and presented me with other options without me feeling any sort of pressure. Overall, even though we weren't able to get much accomplished (out of Jaguar's control), they've provided excellent service from the get-go. Side note: Hasam also wore one of those shoe net things to keep my floor from getting dirty, so that's a plus.. a lot of servicemen from different companies don't wear those.. read more

Over the weekend I had a few 5 Star Yelp companies come out to provide me a quote for repairs I needed done to my HVAC. Hasan came to my home on Sunday afternoon to do the on-site service check. He was the first who actually took time. Who actually took things apart in order to provide my wife and I a thoughtful assessment of what repairs were needed. I highlight the integrity of Hasan because we had one previous unscrupulous person come out and within a minute. No exaggeration, within a minute tell us our HVAC unit needed to be completely replaced. He rattled off a series of numbers that ended with him saying we were looking at $11,000 but he would give is a break and complete the work for $10,500. It was clear he thought me a fool. Hasan on the contrary advised me since it was Sunday. He needed to confirm prices on parts and would call me first thing in the morning. He also advised that because we have a late model HVAC that we should be prepared to replace the system in coming 2-3 years. So this morning. After Hasan provided me the quote - which I gave a green light to. He had Mark from the sales department call me. Mark was great as well. He walked me through SMUD rebates we could take advantage of as part of packages he could put together specific to the square footage, total stories and location of our house which gets plenty of shade. At no point did I feel he was upselling me. Instead he asked what our plans were for the home. Then framed top of the line vs other mid-level systems being mindful to add they provided opportunities for 0% interest financing through Wells Fargo. Hats off to Hasan and Marc. If you want to do business with folks with integrity. Do yourself a favor and hit up "my guys" at Jaguar Heating and Air. They'll take care of you. read more
