I applied and was told that they couldn't apply the amount that i requested to my current loan,. Well they wanted me to put another lien on another vehicle I owned when they could have simply added the amount to my current loan. Don't apply for a loan from these pirates, you will do better to go to a credit union. They have better rates for personal loans.

I'm sure some one out there might have a decent review for this company but i don't.. I used them…read moreto get the last 6,000 bucks I needed to purchase a vehicle when my last child was born and I no longer had space in my other car. The process was smooth and fine, till they blind swiped me with the 33% interest rate. Needless to say I still got the loan cause I had no other choice I had to pick my family up from the hospital. Well I pay that loan off a few months later. They were suppose to release my title just as easy as they grabbed my money every month. Well I was already deployed by this time and figured if something was wrong my wife would have emailed me or something so I thought everything was fine and my title would be at the house. Got home from deployment then left out again a few months later and just forgot about checking. Turns out they never released my title, and the place I went through closed down and my account went up into the cloud some where. Now I'm trying to sell the vehicle and having to wait 7 days after I submit a written request from them to do their job cause I already did mine.. just for them to send a letter of release then do the process with my DMV just to get it from them cause it got turned into an electronic title that I can't touch until one main does the job they were suppose to do 2+ years ago. I will never go through you all again nor recommend, I've been jumping through hoops to get you all to do your job. Y'all really treat soldiers this way? Not even that do y'all treat customers in general that way? Do what you were paid to do and you wouldn't get reviews like this.

On 5/6/2026, I went to Mariner Finance after receiving a pre-approved live check offer for a $2,545…read moreloan with a disclosed APR of 34.03% and a $30 processing fee. I scheduled an appointment with Antonia Cummings to see if I qualified for additional funds. From the beginning, the experience felt extremely unprofessional and deceptive. I was placed alone in an office while Antonia repeatedly ran back and forth between my office and her desk asking for additional documentation and personal information, including my Social Security card. After some time, Antonia informed me I did not qualify for additional funds. When she began processing the loan documents, a warning box appeared on the screen stating the APR could not exceed 32.99%. Antonia immediately commented that my APR was "better than we thought" and called in another employee she identified as assistant manager Kimberley. Kimberley read the warning message herself and stated, "You have to play with the numbers to get it to work." I then heard her repeatedly lowering percentages from 34% while attempting to manipulate the system into accepting the loan terms. What made this even more concerning is that the original pre-approved check listed the APR as 34.03%, but the final contract they presented to me showed the APR as 34.04%, which was actually HIGHER than the pre-approved offer. This directly contradicted the statements made by both employees implying the APR had supposedly improved after the computer warning appeared stating it could not exceed 32.99%. Instead of correcting the issue after the system flagged the APR, they proceeded with the paperwork while avoiding direct answers about why the warning appeared in the first place. When the paper contract was printed, I noticed the APR still did not reflect the 32.99% discussed on the computer screen. When I questioned this, Kimberley suddenly denied the conversation ever happened and acted as if neither she nor Antonia had mentioned it. After I continued questioning the discrepancy, she pointed to the simple interest percentage at the bottom of the contract and attempted to redirect the conversation instead of explaining why the system warning was ignored. Things became even more concerning when I carefully reviewed the contract and noticed the finance charge, amount financed, and total payments were significantly different from the pre-approved offer I originally received. That is when I discovered Antonia had added property insurance and an "Auto Plus" product without my knowledge or consent. When I asked why property insurance had been added, Antonia claimed the loan required collateral and showed me a list containing items I DO NOT OWN, including a 17" MacBook, a 55" smart TV, and a 75" smart TV. I never provided those items because they are not mine. I was shocked that false collateral information was added to my loan paperwork. I also never requested Auto Plus coverage, and I only became aware of it because I thoroughly reviewed the contract before signing. Had I not caught these add-ons, I would have ended up paying nearly $1,700 more for products I never asked for. When I confronted them, the atmosphere immediately became awkward because it was obvious they had been caught attempting to slip additional charges into my loan. Antonia then sarcastically responded, "Well dang, you don't want any products." At that point I felt embarrassed, manipulated, pressured, and completely taken advantage of. I requested all unauthorized add-ons be removed immediately. Although the products were eventually removed, the APR discrepancy and system warning were never properly addressed. Consumers should thoroughly read every single line before signing anything with this company. My experience left me feeling misled and deeply uncomfortable, and I will be filing formal complaints regarding these practices.
