We were running errands and came in to Lengthwise at the Marketplace on a Sunday 3/1/26. We were warmly greeted by the staff and the patrons all seemed really friendly too. The interior of the building is really open with lots of standing room. The bathrooms were very clean as well. We just grabbed some beers here, but the food looked awesome too! I think this is going to be a great spot for stopping in when in the area. We sat on the covered patio looking across the street to CSUB and it was very nice and the mellow vibe we were looking for that day. We will be back! read more

Hi Tastebuddies! Long time no eat!! My friend wanted to try fried Twinkie s for the first time so we headed here.. The location of this place is odd but the environment is so welcoming. The color scheme makes you feel like you're in a blue cabin-like space. The service was great with the bartender gladly answering all the random questions we had. Apparently on Mondays you can get beer samples for $1. We tried the fresh brewed coffee, the stinky fried, and of course, the fried Twinkies. The coffee was bland. Nothing real special which was unexpected since they were so proud that it's home brewed. The fries were great if you love Gorgonzola cheese. I'm not a huge fan so I just focused on the garlic taste that accompanied the flavor. The half size order is plenty for one person especially with how pungent the flavor is. The smell is very strong so beware. The fried twinkies were the main event and oooohhh I was happy. We ordered the ice cream on the side and that was the smartest decision because then we were able to enjoy the crispness of the Twinkie by itself. It tastes like a long French toast donut. I think lengthwise is the only place in the city that has chicken strips that are not dry. I congratulate you guys. You can never find a moist chicken strip and you guys reached it. The chicken strips is a great size. The fries are awesome. The ranch is tastes great. Only downfall is your glass ketchup bottles are hard to pop out some ketchup sometimes. The fried twinkies are a must. They're soft and sweet. The hot filling inside goes perfectly with the ice cream. Be aware though you must share them with more than 2. Kind of hard to finish off with two people after a meal. read more

I've never been to Bakersfield so I Thought I'd try something local for a true taste of Bakersfield gastro. Tip: don't order the tacos! The fish itself (it's cod) is flavorless and they are made with flour tortillas. Um, NO! b) If you are a *true* fan of Gorgonzola, get the stinky-fries. They were yummy, even if the blue melt was a little off-putting. c) bartender & servers were great!! It's a fun stop but not where you want to go for good food. You def come for the beer only. Golden Ale (light, refreshing, bland). There is nothing outstanding about this beer. Just basic standard beer. Triple Hop Red Ale - I love a good red ale. This was not one of them. Again, just basic. No extraordinary malty hoppy sweetness : ( Centennial Ale - traditional IPA (even though the menu claims "there's nothing traditional" about it). The nice thing about this ale is that it has a light body and it is subtle so you could prob drink this all night without a hop-overload. Menu describes it as "intense". Not so at all. Overall, there's a good vibe here. The deco is newer raw-industrial trend but nothing really stands out. Well, the "bucket lights" are fun. Maybe I'm spoiled by Deschutes, Russian River, Stone, and Lagunitas (some of my faves), but the beer here is just not that special. It's a local fan-brewery so you have to try it, because it's local, but don't expect to be wowed. A++ on the staff though!! read more

This is my favorite lengthwise. I live closer to the rosedale one but the food there always disappoints, even though I love the bartenders. L3 is a hop skip and a jump from work. Stinky fries with grilled onions keeps me alive! Hot diggity it is delish! I've had the fish tacos, stinky burger, and pastrami sandwich as well and all are good. This is the third Lengthwise in Bakersfield and in a great location at the Marketplace. Big open space and outdoor seating for when the weather allows. They have a wide array of beers including their own and today I indulged in their raspberry beer which is amazing (they have never disappointed me with their fruit beers). You can get a sampler tray of the beers as well. Since it's Friday, I went for the fish and chips which are great. Four pieces of flaky fish goodness along with their fries, which are incredible. Huge portion and while I was full, I still felt the need to get dessert since the deep fried Twinkies are freaking delicious and come with a generous amount of vanilla ice cream. Glad they opened this location here but I was always willing to drive a little for their food and beer. read more

We love going Lengthwise at the Marketplace. The patio is nice and we love listening to the music. We were there last Wednesday and I suggest you rethink the huge loud fan on the patio. UGH! I'm sure this brewery is popular with the college kids, but our group of 5 was not pleased. The burger was the only meal that was good. Fish tacos were fair Salad was fair Seasoned French fries were good. Drinks were huge Service was great Price was reasonable Caution, Don't order the corned beef! Yuck! Lengthwise is a nice local brewery. This location's menu is different from the other location. I do love fish tacos, and I LOVE theirs. I order them grilled, and I get three huge tacos stuffed with cabbage and some delicious sauce. The root beer floats, made with their own hand-crafted root beer, are awesome. The only problem is it can get a bit crowded..but that is understandable because the people are nice and the atmosphere is family-friendly. This place is amazing. A must try for anyone who likes great beer and delicious food. There Tri-Tip sandwich on Jalapeno Focaccia is the best in town and the Chilli Mac Burger will blow you mind. They have a great select of there own beers on tap along with some other favorites in the microbrewing community. Mixing there beers is a great way to find what you like and a way to try something new and different. Mix the Triple Hops Red with the Ale Ya, they call it a Rale Ya, incredible! Johnny behind the bar is on it! Making great mixes In record time. You don't wait long to get a beer here. Fast and friendly service is the name of there game and they are doing it right. Johnny recommend I try the Rale Ya about a year ago and I have been ordering it ever since. Best bartender hands down. If you are not yet convinced go try it for yourself. this place is amazing! not only is the food always on point the beers are just as good if not better! the staff is always friendly and helpful no matter your crazy requests. my favorites are the tri tip tacos (not on the menu) dipped in their homemade dijon! then a side of stinky fries dipped in their homemade bbq sauce! and to round out the amazing food grab a centennialeya! (the cenntenial and ale ya mixed) also the redcent is pretty delicous as well. you are pretty safe eating and drinking anything fom this place! i go at least once a week and it never gets old! a must go for bakersfield folk #addicted read more
