We stopped in Temblor Brewing to check it out while running errands and we had been wanting to check this place out for a while! We saw the line and stood in it while looking at the menu board and food menu too. We put in our orders and found our seat - there was live music on stage too - it was early in the day so we were surprised to be able to see it, a happy surprise for sure! I ordered an iced tea and its a self serve station - I loved the tea, it was brewed really well so anyone who wants a great tea come here! We wanted to get some food and both got salads - they were great salads, very fulfilling and all ingredients were treated well - I am picky with chicken and this chicken on my salad is like my favorite chicken now. There are lots of different beers so my husband was very happy to be able to try them. This place was awesome and we'll be back for sure, I loved the historical signs and facts on the wall near the entrance to the bathrooms too, it's nice to have ties to the history of the region. read more

As we were pulling up to the hotel, I thought I saw a sign that said brewery, so looked it up and - yep - there's a brewery right across the street. We walked over and had an enjoyable experience. I would first note, they only had 5 of the brewery's own beers on tap. I didn't mind, as I enjoyed a blood orange witbier. I had the sliders with veggie sticks and they were delicious. I was excited to see something besides just chips offered for sides. The seating space is ample and the night we were there, there was music. I was actually pleasantly surprised the music wasn't super loud and echo-y and we could still enjoy conversation. I would recommend stopping by for a beer and some food! read more

I came here last night with a group of 18 people while we were visiting Bakersfield, for the drag races. When we made the reservation, no one told us that the restaurant operates as a self-service setup. We assumed, like most places that accept large reservations, that there would be some level of table service. Instead, the table was basically just a place for us to sit and eat. If we wanted drinks, we had to go up to the bar ourselves to order them. When it came time to eat, we had to leave the table again and go up to the front counter to place our food orders. No one came to the table to take orders, check on us, or even bring water. We ended up having to get water ourselves as well. What was most frustrating was at the end when I went to pay the bill and was told that an automatic 20% gratuity had been added because we were a large party. I completely understand adding gratuity when a staff is actively serving a large group taking orders, bringing drinks, refilling water, checking on the table, etc. But in this case there was essentially no service provided. Everything from ordering drinks, ordering food, and getting water was self-service. If the restaurant is going to run this way, that's fine but it should be clearly communicated when a large group makes a reservation, and automatic gratuity for "service" that didn't happen doesn't feel appropriate. We come to Bakersfield twice a year and after this experience, I don't think we will ever be back. read more

Updating my food review Came here on a Saturday night with friends for dinner, beer, live music. Beer was great - happy to see more of their beers back on tap (last time they only had a couple which was strange). Love the under the blood orange sky and el Cerrito! Live music was also great! The solo singer/guitarist was awesome. So talented. His covers really grabbed your attention. Food was meh. It was fine but very expensive wings were 18 dollars and I was naive and expected fries with them for that price but I was wrong, had to go back and order a side of fries for an extra 6 dollars. Salad was also expensive and just average, not super filling or memorable. Overall I was not impressed by the food and price which was a bummer. So it was 2/3 for me this time. read more

I don't go here enough and I really should. Went here for a show and ended up having dinner and drinks as well. Event was well organized with proper security, bar, and even a clean dedicated restroom for the event goers! Love their happy hour, great deals and the food is worth going to for weeknight dinner. One of the best local brewery's in Bakersfield. Bar top service, when you order food or beverages. I truly love when they added some other local area beers and ciders on tap. They have a huge selections of tapped beverages, as well as a huge selection to take home. Food wise, this is by far, one of the best brewery's in town. I've always loved their burgers, with their perfect hard sear. They have an awesome basket of fried artichoke hearts. Only thing I have to say, is I truly miss their old version of their sweet potato crisp-cut fries. They were truly the best fry EVER. Other than that, everything is great and can be paired perfectly with their beers or ciders. They have a bunch of different types of seating and can be perfect for a date night or a huge group party. They also have a wonderful outdoor seating area. This spot also has great trivia nights, the rare concert and it's becoming a great place for comedy shows, with some big named comics. I've been wanting to try this spot for the longest ever since they came down to the Los Angeles beer festival in 2022 and I got to sample one of their beers. It is a really spacious spot. They had live music and the vibes were so chill. My boyfriend and I shared the pretzel and got the wings. The wings were super crispy (just how I like them) and not to mention really good. The pretzel was also soft on the inside and a bit crispy on the outside. I will add though, that the wings weren't cheap. If I'm ever in the area I will definitely be returning! Also got a Mexican lager to wash down the food and it was nice and crisp. read more

3 stars for "OK" I've been wanting to check out Temblor Brewing for a while now. I used to always see ads about The Expendables playing shows here, which is when I first discovered the place. I was heading home from Anaheim last Monday and decided to take 99 instead of 5. I don't really have a reason to go to Bakersfield, so it took me a bit to finally make it. I love a good brewery. The location is super convenient, right off 99, with plenty of parking. The space itself is nice, and the service was great (attentive and friendly). I ordered the pork belly tacos, which were decent but a little on the dry side for me (maybe some extra sauce would help balance the two corn tortillas). What surprised me most was the beer list. They only had 3 of their own beers on tap, which felt a little disappointing for a brewery. I tried all three; the sour and the IPA (Streets of Bakersfield) were both really good, while the Bavarian wheat just isn't my style. They did have a great selection of guest beers from other breweries, which was a plus, but I was hoping for more of their own lineup. Overall: solid spot with good vibes, friendly service, and some tasty beers (just wish they had more of their own on tap). This is a great spot to hang out for a few hours. They have a solid selection of beers on tap, including a nice variety of local options, which is always a plus. The space itself is super spacious and comfortable, making it easy to relax and spend time here. They usually have board games available to keep you entertained, but lately they seem to be slowly disappearing, so I'd recommend bringing your own just in case. The food is also really good, with plenty of choices, so there's something for everyone. They host different events like comedy and live music, and I even did line dancing here once (not sure if that's still a thing), but overall it's a fun place to burn an afternoon with friends. read more

I have started to get into more craft beers recently. So far my favorite have been Hazy IPA's. Most breweries have mid food and good beer, but not Temblor. They have both! Their selection is massive, they have everything you could dream of. I had a Kern River pumpkin IPA. 3/5. I would like a hint more of pumpkin. Their berry pie IPA made brewed with milk was freaking delicious! I didn't think the day could get any better until I ordered the nachos. They are massive, and not for the feint of heart. I am not ashamed to admit they defeated me. I could not finish them. Even with my buddies help. Do yourself a favor and thank me later, add beer cheese. Phe-nom-nom-e-naaaallll I brought them back home and my wife and her GF loved them as leftover as well. Service was quick and excellent. I love how much space there is! Went here for a live show and had a genuinely great time. The crowd was fun in the best way. Sound was amazing, staff were friendly, and it reminded me how fun it is to just show up and enjoy some music without overthinking it. As close to a 90's/00's show I've been to in the Valley in a long time. Prices were overall pretty decent & made it all the more fun. Would absolutely come back for another concert. read more

Five starts because of the awesome beer selection and outstanding customer experience. The atmosphere here is fantastic. Based on what I read on their community board, they host weekly activities. During the week we visited, they had a cancer support bingo night and the college finals game! The food is excellent for a brewing company--definitely not what I expected at all. The French dip sandwich is by far one of the best I've ever had, featuring juicy, tender beef and delicious au jus. The beer is also great. I love a brewery that is open during the week for lunch. The added benefit for us travelers is it is right off of the 99. It's a big space inside with plenty of seating. I tried a flight of beers and enjoyed their darker brews best. The others were just okay. They also have a number of other taps featuring other breweries including international. My husband and I met some friends for trivia night at Temblor. There is a laid back vibe at Temblor. Seating is set up for customers to seat themselves which was nice for meeting up with friends. Ordering is pretty simple, you go up to a specific section of the bar and place your order and pay. After placing your order they provide you a number for your order to take back to your table and the a server brings out your meal when ready. I decided to order the chicken and green apple salad while my husband ordered the classic burger (with a plant based patty) and fries. The food was brought out fairly quickly, which was nice. My salad was a nice sized salad but I felt it had a minimal amount of candied walnuts which would've helped improve the overall taste. My husband enjoyed his plant based burger. It was basic but fulfilling. One of our friends ordered the chicharrones as an appetizer and those were outstanding. The had a nice blend of crunch along with a slightly spicy flavor. Overall we enjoyed our trip to Temblor, although it probably helped we got 3rd place in the trivia game read more

Brewery and restaurant located on Buck Owens Blvd next to The BLVD offering cold beers and pub food. Any restaurant that has chicharrones as an appetizer has my vote! The service was great. The bartenders are very attentive. They have a sprayer that cleans the glass before they pour your beer and also rinse the sides of foam. Quite a thoughtful touch for a brewery. The blonde was very flavorful. They have event space that also has its own bar and you can keep the same tab open. This is a historical gem as described in the brick dedication and offers a cool NorCal vibe with open air seating. No servers so you order at the bar and sit with your table holder and the food is delivered to your table. Temblor Brewing was a huge letdown. The beer was flat, bland, and honestly tasted like it came out of a can from the gas station. For a brewery, that's embarrassing. The food wasn't any better--greasy, flavorless, and clearly overpriced for what you get. Nothing came out hot, and it all tasted like it had been sitting around way too long. The service sealed the deal. Staff seemed uninterested and annoyed to be there. We waited far too long just to get drinks, then even longer for food, which wasn't even correct when it finally arrived. No effort to fix the mistakes either--just shrugged shoulders and more waiting. Overall, Temblor is not worth your time or money. There are plenty of better spots in Bakersfield to grab a good beer and decent food with actual service. This place isn't one of them. read more

This being a brewery I'm going to score it high on the brew and ambiance side. We went with a group of 8 and it was a great place to take a group. We got one of the big tables with benches and it comfortably fit everyone. The ambiance was casual. It felt just like a brewery should. The parking lot is big enough for everyone to park and the set up inside has lots of tables and chairs to sit at. Corn hole is in the back. Chicharroenes were a strong 10/10 Great flavored and the perfect crunch Giant Soft Pretzel was another 10/10 Crispy Brussels Sprouts was a 5/10. They were whole and I didn't find them very crispy. They were more on the firm side with sauce. Beer Battered Artichoke Hearts was a 7/10 Above average, but not as good or inviting as the Chicharroenes Southwest Chicken Salad was a 5/10. It was a salad heavy on the chicken side. There wasn't enough lettuce to chicken ratio. This is probably good for those that wanted a lot of chicken, but I wanted more lettuce. I heard this comment on the apple chicken salad as well. Lettuce is cheap, they should add more in. Also it needed more dressing than the little cup they gave you. The Classic Temblor Signature beef burger was a 5/10. It was a thick burger with pickles and onions packed inside. It had some sauce on it, but I still found it dry. The fries were good. Overall I'd say come for the beer and Chicharroenes and eat dinner elsewhere. read more

Came in to have a quick date with my wife while our son and his buddy were at Flight. Hadn't been here in a bit so we immediately loved the Holiday decor, and specialty brews on tap. I had a pint of the Ricketbocker, a seasonal bock. I tried the Cotton-Headed Ninny Muggins, but that just had holiday spices added to the Ricketbocker that kind of took away from the overall taste. Neither my wife nor I were really that hungry, so we had a Chicken and Green Apple salad, and sliders with fries. Both were fantastic! We stopped here for dinner on a Sunday night. We got there around 5:30 and it was on a list from the hotel we were staying at but wouldn't recommend going here. We ordered a half order of a giant pretzel and we also ordered chicken sandwiches with fries. The pretzel wasn't soft, my sandwich was ok but could've been warmer. I didn't finish mine and only had a few pieces of the pretzel. The fries were the best as far as the food I ate. In addition it took 35 minutes before we received our food.
