Their Caesar dressing is hands down the best, with real anchovy flavor that makes it extra bold and authentic. I always order the Margherita pizza but swap in their spicy tomato sauce... absolutely delicious. Such a perfect pairing with Imbibe's pour-your-own wine spouts, and they make some of the best Old Fashioneds around. The Imbibe staff truly make the place feel like home. Probably one of the best selections in town. They have sommeliers and other experts to help you along the way, with making your selections. If you have a special selection, I believe they'll even make you an order. I've gotten probably every type of liquor in there and tried tons of new additions, which I love having in my selection at home. The workers are all very pleasant and greet you when you enter. They have music nights, tastings and a wood fire pizza oven, which I haven't been able to get to just yet. Love this place and will continue to give them business reasonably priced and aren't trying to make scam like some of these liquor stores around town. Pretty cool spot tucked away in central Bakersfield that I never knew existed. I love me a glass of wine every once in a while. Imbibe had a fine selection of wines and spirits. I love that fact that you can buy a bottle there and drink it there as well. They have a pretty cool pay as you go wine tasting bar also that suited me well it was a decent wine tasting experience right here in town. The selection was mostly Reds and a few whites the day I went which is fine with me, but from what I was told it rotates not sure if it's day by day or weekly. Either way it was a cool experience with live music and a full bar as well if you're not into wines. Oh! Do not be fooled by this hidden gem in Bakersfield. I have been coming here for years and will continue to. They have a spectacular selection of wine, spirits and beer that you can take home of drink there with a Tommy's Pizza. If you are unsure of what you want the staff is more than happy to guide to a amazing selection. If they do not have what you are looking for ask to see if the can special order, they were able to track down 2 bottles of special chartreuse bottlings for me. We will also bring a board/card game and just play will enjoying a bottle of wine. Wow the pizza, the beer, the atmosphere. Came in on a Friday early dinner time and it was popping. 50 min wait for Pizza but we didn't mind, grabbed some beers and had a great recommendation from staff for a light summer beer and sat and relaxed until the pizza came. It was hot, cheesy, delicious and not too too spicy, just the right amount. We inhaled our pizza, it was so good. First time here all the way from Sacramento! We saw this place online and heard Tommy's pizza was good so we wanted to give it a try. It was a cool concept and the pizza was delicious! It was fresh, flavorful, and worth the visit. The server and cashiers were both great and made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, one interaction significantly dampened the rest of our visit. A staff member named Halli displayed an unprofessional attitude. Her tone, delivery, and overall demeanor came across as rude and dismissive. I went with the gold metal pie - "The Cheese". Hand-stretched dough. Great undercarriage, nice char. Great sauce to cheese ratio. Sauce has a very pleasant tomato sweetness. Really nice crisp with a bit of chew. Crust is light, airy. Opened the box immediately after getting it and was happy to see very little flop at all. This pizza was outstanding. An 8.9! This is a fun place to visit when they have live entertainment. I love listening to a live person singing and just sipping on some wine. They have a tasting card so you can try different glasses of wine instead of buying a whole bottle. While this is great, I find it cheaper to buy a whole bottle. But you don't get to try many choices that way...so it's a personal preference. It is a great way to try new things. They have a bar and bartender if you want something different than wine. They also have a mini store that has lots of hard to find wine, liquor and beer. Great place to find gifts! read more

One of my many complaints with this city was the lack of authentic good quality pizza but no longer. It doesn't matter if your budget is $12 or hundreds of dollars- you will have more options than you could ever want. The staff is super helpful and if you set up an account they can track what you buy. Love that bottle you got a month ago but forgot the name? They can help, or recommend things that are similar. Plus you earn points when you buy, which can be redeemed for wine from their automatic wine dispensers- they have many to choose from. The staff always takes the time to be incredibly helpful. I make it a point to try and sneak in without being greeted, but it is nearly impossible. I hope they are well compensated because I feel better served there than anywhere else in town, and it isn't even close. They also have a great selection of beers and the pizza is fantastic. They have a lot of variety from spirits to wine, you can choose from their vast beer and wine selection and for a $.99 charge can enjoy your beer there or $5 corking fee for wine. I am so happy we did. We are pizza fanatics. From New York to Chicago to countless places in Cali we love pizza. Ordered the Bianca, Margherita and Hot Pepp. Holy guac!!! All 3 were amazing!!!! Each one of us had a different fave (mine was the Bianca). Paired them with a bottle of Caymus Cab which was absolutely perfect! This was seriously the best pizza we've ever had. I have been to Imbibe several times and every time they are so hospitable and welcoming. They are also very committed to the community, which is very important to me. I am currently sitting as vice chair for a committee planning the Dress For The Stars Gala, which is a fundraising event for Dress for Success Bakersfield. When I asked Imbibe if they would like to participate they immediately offered a generous donation of wine for our wine pull. I know they volunteer in many other ways for the community. We have held several of our committee meetings there. They have a huge array of wines and other spirits with selections for all price ranges. They also offer charcuterie boards and other tasty treats, including the iconic brown butter cookies from Cayucos Beach. If you haven't tried them yet you are missing out! Their pizza is also delicious! My favorite was made up of ingredients I would never think of putting together but wow!! Imagine this: thin crust, goat cheese (or ricotta possibly?), spinach, artichoke hearts, Spanish olives, and....a drizzle of honey....yes, honey. It sounds so strange and if I didn't taste it for myself I would probably be skeptical, but do yourself a favor and just order it! I also stole a slice of pepperoni off of the other pizza at my table and it was a good quality pepperoni...slightly spicy and not too fatty. If you are going for a serious meeting Mondays are quieter...Thursdays can get fairly loud in there, but are great for networking and just seeing good friends. We went there expecting some nice wines but this one tap were ok but expensive. More than making a day of it in Paso. We also got the pizza from Tony's which I was looking forward to. Was disappointed. The topping was really burnt and I took one look at least 1/3 of it all black and told the guy that brought it up our table " wow! It's really burnt" ! But he left it and walked off. It seemed like no one cared that they were serving a burnt pizza. My husband and I ate a little bit and put the rest in the box to take home. We figured we might be able to try salvaging it by removing the burnt pieces and adding some more cheese. But I was very disappointed in it as was my husband. If this is the way they prefer to cook it then I guess they've done nothing wrong. However, it's not the way I would prefer it. The whole experience was not a great one. Having to take a card back up to the front and having a certain amount of money loaded on it just so I could get the wine out of the wine. Dispensing machine was a little confusing. One of the girls just seemed OK to be a little perturbed of having to explain the process to us. It's definitely not customer friendly. But if you are working nearby and you want an expensive drink or expensive glass of wine, then I guess this is your place. read more

Imbibe is a place that has a decent atmosphere inside and a pretty good beer selection. The pizza here is also very good. Hence why it's not a 1 star. I've been here a couple times now. However, the customer service here lacks and hence my review. I called them recently to see if they had a certain type of beer in stock because I didn't want to drive across town only to not have what I was looking for. A person who identified himself as "Jared" answered the phone and said no they don't carry that beer. Then I asked if he can check to see what flavors of that beer company they had available and he said they have a few and that I would need to come in to check. I tried to explain I live across town and if he can go look and tell me. It would take him maybe all of 2-3 mins to simply walk to their beer section and see which flavors they had for this particular beer brand. He told me "No I'm too busy, you would just have to come here and check it out if you want it". I hung up and of course I'm never going here again. We actually planned to hold a holiday gathering from my work at this place and now I'm coordinating to find a difference place because it's obvious they don't want more business, their already too "busy" with what they have. There are other good pizza places in Bakersfield (Flames Pizza being one) and other good craft beer places here as well (Off the Rails being one) that I would recommend instead. I'm pretty sure this same Jared is the one that I once asked to go check in the back if they had another beer in stock when I was actually inside the store. And he refused and said no without even looking at what beer it is. I asked another employee Myles the same thing and he went and checked and was able to get me what I needed from the back. Laziness has no place in customer service and it's a shame Imbibe employs people who embody that. read more

I went in to buy wine and a gift card. As I walked around I saw they had charcuterie boards and a wine bar. The wine bar was awesome. They had about 20 wines to pick from. The charcuterie board had many different items. I sat down to enjoy the wine and food. I loved it all except the goat cheese. I left with a bottle of wine, gift card, and a great experience.
