My wife and i went and ordered the Italian sub and it was really good. The only thing i will do next time and there will be a next time is get it Toasted? The place is a little tight to get into but to us it was worth it. The Managers name was Jereas and he was so kind and you could tell he loved his job and the lady and other gentleman that cut the meat was so friendly ! Went in and asked for the $5.00 sub of the week which was the Hot Italian. I asked if that meant that it was a heated sub and he said yes, it was grilled. I said I would like that but I didn't want it to be heated. He told me couldn't do that. I was very confused why the sub couldn't just be made the way it is and then not be heated/grilled. My reasoning for that is these subs were not going to be eaten until a couple of hours later and they would have become soggy. He seemed very confused by my request and said he didn't think he could do that. I left without purchasing anything so it was their loss. Lenny's do better! read more

Oh man I hate doing this, but the manager and perhaps owner was so rude to me over the phone. Ordered subs for pickup. Got home, opened up my order and the turkey sandwich was completely wrong. I called and told let them know that the order was wrong and asked for a credit. Manager said he was not able to credit the sandwich because that would entail deleting the entire order. In all fairness, he offered to remake the sandwich if I came back in to pick it up. That's not entirely convenient. I said that I really think I got someone else's turkey sandwich to which he replied "it was made exactly how you ordered it." That's went the conversation really went off the rails. I said no and he cut me off and said "listen to me, it was made EXACTLY ordered how you ordered it, so either come in or nothing." It was a rude response to which he replied that I was rude. I said I'd leave a review and he said you don't scare me and hung up. I'm attaching photos so he can see for himself that it wasn't as I ordered, which he was empathic about. Have not been to a Lenny's since 2012 at a Virginia location. We are so happy that Asheville has one. Our food was fantastic, we did the hot Italian, the Lenny's reaper, and two kids meals. The bread was fresh and the prices were good for the amount of food we got. Great customer service. We are already planning to order Lenny's for our Mission hospital stay coming up. For the kids meals, $6 bucks gets them a choice of 4 sandwiches, a massive cookies or chips, and a drink. These days that's a bargain! The shop was clean and their soda machine worked as it should. Get the APP! They have great deals if you get the app. This was the second time I've gotten food from Lenny's and so far it's been great. Got the Mac and cheese bowl first time and it was OH SO Good! Got the hot Italian sun today because there was a deal on the app and MMM it was great! I ordered off the app and skipped the line today. The inside is bright and clean. Busy location! The sign says Lenny's Grill & Subs. The "grill" part is new to me. I only knew it as Lenny's Subs around North Carolina. Parking at this location is tight but turnover is pretty quick. They have one parking spot for orders to go. Lenny's is my favorite sandwich. Their ham and turkey are both great. You can customize your sandwich with get herbs and oil and vinegar. My husband and I was in town for me to have some tests done and I didn't feel like going out to dinner, so we ordered some sandwiches to eat at our hotel. This place is pretty great, definitely a local gem. We got the bacon philly and hot Italian take out. Im not sure I cared for the Italian hot, so might not try that one again. We did love the the Philly but it didn't come as we ordered, with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Still it was a good philly, but also coulda used more bacon. Also should point out, these are not cheap sandwiches; expect to pay more than normal for a sub sandwich at most fast casual sandwich joints. Very soggy although tasty. The roll fell apart in my hands; it was so wet. The cashier ask for my online order receipt. I showed him a copy on my phone and for some reason he didn't believe me. I had recently read a rave review about Lenny's and decided to give it a try since I drive past it all the time. My first impressions were not good, I'll be honest. The gentleman working the counter was cold and seemed annoyed that I was even there. When I asked him what kind of sauces they had, he said that they have a bunch and didn't help anymore than that. Every interaction I had with the guy at the counter was pretty blah, I felt unwelcome for sure. Also, the floors were so sticky that my shoes stuck and made that annoying sticky noise. But I will admit that my black bean burger sub was ridiculously delicious. It was lacking sauce (like I said, the guy working there was no help so I just got it as it is on the menu-no sauce), so I added a little mayo when I got home and that really fixed it. I was actually quite surprised at how much I enjoyed this sub. It was served with grilled onions and peppers and swiss cheese. The black bean burger was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. It was a pretty big sandwich and although I only planned on eating half of it, I couldn't stop and ended up eating the entire thing. I will definitely be back to get this again and would love to try a different sauce on it. I might order online this time so I don't have to talk to anyone at the counter. read more

This is my HOLY GRAIL sandwich shop! Great prices, great customer service, clean atmosphere and most importantly AMAZING FOOD!! I've tried the hot Italian, chicken Philly, meatball and regular steak philly they were all PERFECT. The bread is so soft, meat is thinly sliced and free of gristle/fatty pieces like i get at alot of other places. The rewards program makes it even more worth it. Every 100 points gets you a free 7.5 inch sub. I will never go to another sandwich shop in Asheville as long as they're around! 10/10!! read more

Try a hot sub I have been to Lenny's in the past and had a great turkey sub. Today I stopped and decided to have a French dip. The sandwich is good. The bbq chips are better. The roast beef on the sandwich was really good. It was the dipping sauce that was unusual. I believe soy sauce was the major ingredient which seemed off. Don't get me wrong. I have not been in a Lennys in at least 5 years. Their food was horrible. However, I gave it a shot this afternoon for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised. They have redone their menu, offering better choices than before. I got the 5" Italian sub, which is great that they offer more than 2 sizes of sub like most places. You don't have to overeat or waste food. The place could be a little cleaner. I had to clean my table and CHAIR of leftover food. After searching Menus of 3 or 4 other places, I found Lenny's on Google, and decided sure, let's get this place. First time ever eating here. And let me tell you. That cheesesteak was the BEST one I have had in YEARS. Blows every place I have had in Asheville and surrounding areas out of the water. To top that off, it was priced very well. Why go to Subway and get a mediocre Steak & Cheese when you can spend LESS and get an absolutely PERFECT cheesesteak here? I wish I could give this place more stars. We pulled into our hotel in Asheville North Carolina... we want to Get just a simple sandwich so we decided to go to Lenny's. I gave my order to the lady over the counter...I wish she would have made my sandwich but she didn't....the blonde hair girl made the sandwich an messed it up time. I did not get my roast beef or bacon but by the time we went back to our hotel I was too tired to go all the way back to have them correct it ...when it should've been done right the first time. This place is outstanding! The bread is wonderful. The meat is sliced to order. All the veggies are bright and crisp. The store is so clean as are the restrooms. The owner is on site daily. Tried this place a couple of times, as it's near a spot I volunteer at. The food is about as generic as it comes, not terrible, but nothing to recommend it. Their cheese steaks have little flavor and are greasy. The other subs have limited amounts of meat and more bread than anything. Also, the apparent owner overseeing and berating the (very!) young staff members and bad attitude will preclude me from every going again. read more

This place is terrible. We ordered about a month and a half ago and there was long hair embedded in the middle of one of the sandwiches. Called to let them know and they said to mention it next time we're in and they'd make it right. Well, again, long hair in our food so took a bit to want to order from the place again. We ordered again today but were told it had been too long since the hair incident to do anything about it. Again, let it go. Got all the way home with the food and there was absolutely no cheese on the cheesesteak. Management was a jerk and argued when both meals should've just been taken care of. Even if everything had been perfect, food is still nothing amazing. If my money goes to a chain it definitely won't be this one anymore. read more
