I've been a life long customer at LensCrafters since I was in elementary school, which continued into adulthood. In recent years it appears to me as if LensCrafters stores no longer smaller dimension frames in a 25-30 mm vertical range in a true rectangular style. This is a huge problem for people with myopia and higher prescriptions, many of us have to wear our glasses or utilize our glasses on a larger scale timeframe due to significant nearsightedness. This is a huge problem being told in-store and via the online/1-800 number that LensCrafters simply does not carry glasses in that type of style/size range. Those of us with myopia/high prescriptions don't want to walk around wearing coke bottle glasses like this is 1970. I never felt insecure with a pair of glasses I've received from LensCrafters. The last time I had glasses made was in 2018, where the craftsmanship of the lenses were pristine, and it was barely noticeable the prescription in the lens for the right eye was high, the lenses were thin and not looking pregnant. Pre-pandemic days LensCrafters has knowledgeable opticians that knew how to assist customers like me with high prescriptions. Since November 2025 I've been to LensCrafters at least 4 times with lackluster results, which is disheartening which is leading me to believe my vision is that terrible, feeling so ashamed, insecure, and embarrassed about my vision. I never felt this way before until now in my 30-something years of living. I was never made fun of with a pair of glasses I've received from LensCrafters in the past and this just draws up horrible memories of popular culture where people were made fun of their thick-sized glasses. The most recent purchase of lenses I made on 12/28/25 the lenses were poorly constructed as if the lenses were jammed inside the frame when I picked them up on 1/11/26 and there's dents/chipping on the left lens and warping on the bottom edge of the frame that I purchased separately outside of LensCrafters. When I went to different store in November 2025 in Manhattan the glasses I received looked pregnant I'm really starting to think LensCrafters is discriminating against one of their largest consumer population, and it's those with myopia (high). What a shame, insult, and so disheartening. I'm literally at a loss for words. I even had frames and glasses from LensCrafters before in the past the were not children's frames that never made me look like I was that blind or vision impaired. I looked like a normal person; the glasses you all are making now for people with myopia make me feel like I'm some abnormal human being. This is borderline discrimination and inhumane. This is not the level of customer service and craftsmenship I've been use to for several years. The last 2-3 customer service forms I've filled out never have been addressed with me since November 2025. When I called the 1-800 number I'm simply told LensCrafters does not sell frames in the dimensions or dimensions I'm looking for and there's no one to help. I've spent thousands of dollars searching for frames that would fit my personal style, aesthetic, and facial feature due to this discriminatory inventory discrepancies. This review is not store-specific as I've been to 2 stores now and faced with the same issue/problem this is a regional issue that needs to be addressed with the LensCrafters brand and corporate office. I've been going here since Middle School and i really used to love this place, they had a wide variety of glasses and the staff was always knowledgeable. Note that all of this is in past tense. I went for my most recent appointment and the store changed, half of the glasses selection was cut. The staff was also no longer as helpful in picking my glasses; I normally pick something fun with the opinion of the staff and she kept recommending black square glasses. Anyone who knows glasses knows that is not fun. I ended up not buying the glasses and went for contacts instead. Even in that, they never called me to schedule my contact trial. I called three weeks after my appointment to check in only to be told they had not ordered anything. When the day of came i asked if they had any earlier appointments and the lady was so rude that i have literally been pushed to write this. Best LensCrafters team I have ever worked with. Easily scheduled and rescheduled my emergency appointment online. I'm a bridesmaid from out of town and the bride asked me less than a week before the wedding if I could wear contacts. Never worn them before and I could never get anything close to my eyes. Everyone is so nice. Amy is amazing and wonderful! She calmed my nerves down simply by making me laugh. Devon was patient with instructing me how to take the contacts out. Dr. Yee knows his stuff! Highly recommend! He's very patient and explains things thoroughly. He gave me lots of pointers on how to put contacts on. The whole office/store ran very efficiently and they all helped make my experience better. They will take care of you! read more

I will say that Alex knoews how to listen to his customers. I had some issues getting adjusted to my new glasses and he went out of his way to make sure that everything was just the way I wanted. The optometrist office was also very accommodating and thorough. Good coordination between them and the opticians. I suggest you avoid this place by all means! I ordered multiple orders with them for my family, and every single of them is messed one way or other, even the messurements are off! When pointed out the issue, the optician is extremely argumentive, instead of being polite and admissive. Mistakes can happen! Not to mention, their frames double/triple the price of what you pay in Amazon from authentic stores(with click of a button return/refund option if needed). Lens prices are high price too. I've been here three times. Employees have been friendly and professional but need a bit more work on educating themselves on the LensCrafters products and different options. The sales people on the floor are nice but it's silly to say the more expensive add ons are always recommended. Maybe understanding the person's lifestyle and suggesting certain things may not be necessary will come off as more customer focused than sales focused. Up selling kills the experience unless the person will actually get good value for the added benefit. One hour lens cutting on site so you get glasses right away. read more

One of my first times at Lenscrafters despite the fact that I've been wearing glasses for 15 years. I love that they have an easy online appointment system. I was able to make the appointment that morning for the afternoon. The staff is very warm and friendly. Best of all... No waiting! I'm the most impatient person I know and having to wait especially when I have an appointment pisses me off. Thankfully, I was seen right away by the office assistant and then the doctor. I had a 3pm appointment and was completely done by 3:25, with a new prescription. I'm a huge fan of efficiency and the Lenscrafters crew exemplifies this! The "A" Team at King's Plaza which is composed of Amy, Santana,Christian, Dr Yee and a very pregnant lady all showed exemplary professionalism during my visits. My prescription is a bit time consuming and throughout the appointments their courtesy and patience never wavered and were always front and center.Once it became apparent that an alteration had to be made all hands were on deck and their good cheer never faded. The prospect of purchasing glasses has always been an ordeal for me. Now, it has become a pleasure since I know that I am in the very capable and caring hands of these men and women. Good customer service is very underrated. Dr. Yee really understands customer service and cares about his customers. My eyes are changing and it hasn't been easy to find a prescription that works. Dr. Yee has worked with me to get contacts and glasses that are comfortable and work with my vision. I've never gone to an eye glass place that was this considerate of me. The staff is polite and helpful. I felt zero pressure to buy! It's so refreshing. The store practices Covid procedures and is clean and inviting. Went to Lencrafters twice for glasses for my 8 year old. Both times I was told I would have to pay out of pocket. I have insurance through an employer and union coverage. I was told they don't accept my union and I had to pay three different co pays for basic glasses for an 8 year old. I had the prescription on hand as not to waste time and still ended up paying a lot for nothing. The people at Lenscrafter are like used car salespeople trying to get you to pay more so they can make money. I called my insurance and they even stated the prices seem inflated. My hubby went there Saturday needing to get his eyes checked for the new DMV license renewal requirements. The service was very quick for the eye exams and when we decided we were just going to put new lenses into his old Oakleys we were surprised to find out that his glasses were defective from the beginning. We previously went to Jamie Rose in Howard beach and paid a fortune for that pair of glasses (see review on Jamie Rose for cost breakdowns). When we found out how much our insurance was covering on the pair of glasses we decided we were going to be checking my eyes and getting me a pair of glasses too (yay!) We paid $380 for 2 pairs of glasses complete with all of the bells and whistles, and we will be coming back to get a pair of prescription sun glasses for my husband who drives all of the time. The kicker with this whole experience that got me to write this review was the fact that they gave us Oakley cases. We were shocked because in our previous experience with other opticians they were selling the cases separately starting at $25 for a no name case. They looked at us like we were crazy when we asked them if it cost extra but they said "No, all glasses are supposed to come with their designated case." Little did we know that we were being taken advantage of, in two separate places, but somehow they are connected (again see review on Jamie Rose). I had a great experience here. I was in an emergency situation. I was leaving on a business trip on a Sunday and my glasses were badly scratched affecting my vision. (Full disclosure, I had ordered a pair from Warby Parker a week earlier that was supposed to arrive in 5 days and they never arrived on time which is what put me in this position) Helen was so helpful. She told me if I arrived by 11am on Saturday they would be able to make a pair in a couple of hours. And they did. I am so thankful for the great service I received from Helen and the staff at Lens Crafters. They bailed me out of a situation that was caused by poor customer service on the part of Warby Parker. I will absolutely return to this Lens Crafters in the future. My only question is: why did all the Lens Crafters labs shut down in Manhattan? It used to be so convenient to get your glasses in 24 hours. It was a bit of a haul to the Kings Plaza mall in south Brooklyn, but in the end it was worth it for the excellent customer service I received. read more
