I was scheduled for a thorough exam. Daniel (I think that was his name) was very warm and supportive during the testing. He then sent me into an examining room to wait for the optometrist. When the doctor walked in, he asked me to leave; he had another patient. I left the store, after scheduling an appointment with another optometrist for another time. I thought he was rude; I didn't want to wait for him. One week later, I scheduled a 2:00 follow up appointment. After waiting 40 minutes, I asked the gal at the desk if I've been overlooked. She responded that they had scheduled two patients for the one two o'clock spot. Lens Crafters has lost two customers, my husband and me. read more

This location is amazing! After a horrible experience at a Lens Crafters 5 minutes away from my house, I happily drove 20 minutes away to this location. It was well worth it! Jessie answered my call, heard my story, and quickly offered to help. Maria offered exceptional service that is extremely hard to find these days. She is the best! Dr. Truong took the time to educate me on my prescription, was very personable, and didn't rush the exam whatsoever. I saw a lot of bad comments about this location, but it was the only place with an appt on a Friday and I was willing to take a chance. Luckily, I had nothing but a great experience. I was knocking out a long to-do list while back in Sacramento and I happily crossed off my eye exam (that a over a year overdue!) I called late afternoon and was able to make an eye appt two hours later. The gentleman who did all the field tests was very friendly and explained all the instructions easily enough. Dr. Clare Thomasy did the rest of my eye exam and she was thorough and easy to talk to. I liked that she actually cleaned those plastic chin guards on the machine for me before my exam. Additionally, I didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable at all. Sometimes picking, 1 or 2, 3 or 4 can get daunting when they all look the same - you know what I mean! However, she seemed to have an idea about what I would be seeing and would say, are these the same? OR Is there a difference? Her prompting was good as she didn't make me feel I had to pick one that looked clearer each time. Dr. Thomasy was professional and I had no complaints with the exam. Sometimes Lenscrafters really pressures you to get frames, but since I was just visiting I really felt very little pressure and even had my current frames adjusted while I was there. Note that if you have AAA you get a discount off the full comprehensive exam, but not the basic. Also, Lenscrafters is having a 50% of lenses sale through APRIL 4th! My first experience at Lens Crafters went great. I had previously been to a Stanton Optical and my oh my what a difference! I kept the same ratty scratched glasses for years because I was scared to go back. But thankfully, Lens Crafters changed that for me. I had all of my work up done for them to tell me, 'Hey you need glasses!' Guess I was in the right place eh? I was happy they carried Oakley and Ray Ban because I am weird and prefer men's frames more. I picked out a nice frame and ordered the lens. The tech was great about explaining to me the different finishes they can put on the lens to protect them. Will definitely go back when it's time! read more

From the 15 minute wait to the 3 trips required to finally get the correct lens, this particular location is a night mare of incorrect orders, crummy service, and snotty employees. The definition of bad customer service. This place was terrible the people were terrible they badmouth Stanton optical almost like it was a directive from management. Not that I had a great experience with Stanton optical but did not respect them for starting out that way. My eye exam was good and I was happy with the thoroughness. When it came to picking out glasses that was also pretty good but took almost 2 1/2 hours and felt that was excessive. The thing about it is anyone can do good on the front end. If there's an issue what are they going to do on the backend that's how you define customer service and this is where they fall unbearably short. If everything's great fine but if you have an issue with your prescription or you don't like the way your glasses fit then they are not there to support you. Terrible attitude rude aggressive and just overall nasty. If someone has an issue like a cataract and the doctor tells you that there's really nothing they can do until that's fixed then why would you sell me $600 worth of glasses. You advised me that if they didn't work to bring them back no issues but when I brought them back boy were there issues. Eventually I got most of my money back after returning my glasses but the rudeness that I encountered was astonishing. Especially in this day and age to be treated like garbage in front of other customers like there's something wrong with me is unacceptable and I would caution anyone using this place and especially buying in to their all warranty and reflective lenses etc. etc. shame on you LensCrafters and the people that work there. I don't wear glasses however my son needed his first pair so, it was all new to me as I strolled into Lens Crafters and was greeted by Rebecca the sales manager. She answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease. She smiled often and seemed to like what she did- (dealing w people all day) even as the phone was ringing off the hook & the line became ridiculously long she still focused on my son & kept a smile! Not even a week after getting the glasses we needed them adjusted. It was a delight to see Rebecca's face and she remembered who we were, tweaked the glasses and we were on our way. Then my beautiful son chose to try & tweak the glasses himself & broke them. So, back to the store & thankfully Rebecca took care of us again. Went to sunrise location on February 22 2023. They put you through fundamentally unnecessary testing for contact lenses to essentially Jack their prices. The optometrist (Patel) not only provided me with the wrong lenses (daily versus monthly) after I specified I use daily but also failed to finalize my prescription after I specifically contacted the office, requested my brand and indicated I needed a monthly. When I went to the office to see why I had not heard anything from them over two weeks, they first cannot find my prescription, then cannot decipher what was prescribed and assume a posture of indignation. The manager tells me they cannot finalize my prescription when I ask for it. She then offers me a prescription lens which is .25 less than my actual prescription and she cannot seem to comprehend why this is completely inappropriate. I ask to be contacted and again request my prescription. I've heard nothing. They refuse to refund me. I am submitting a complaint to the insurance carrier. If you look on line (which I wish I had) these guys are notorious for complaints and have a track record of not solving them. Horrible experience. read more

I've used this Lenscrafters once before and was very pleased with the knowledge and assistance I received. From time to time I've come in to have frames adjusted, and they've been great. Their prices are very high, but most people understand that. Today I went in with a new prescription, and had a gal who was one of the least helpful, dumbest people I've ever encountered in retail. I had to walk out before I shot back. I could not get any information, pricing, or recommendations from her. The fact that she was allowed to be on the floor was enough to steer me away for good from this store. I might try another store but this time I will shop harder for price and competency. read more

FIRST IMPRESSIONS/INITIAL VISIT: The staff are courteous, but inept. I felt like I was just a number, being run through the system. Two of their employees (one a dr) performed tests; and neither gave the impression of being competent. The prescription I ended up with is very weak, only slightly improving my vision. While we were there, my wife overheard another customer complaining that he had been called in 3 times over the past couple of weeks to pick up his glasses, but they weren't given to him. He waited 3 hours before they gave him his glasses. They offer a money back guarantee, and I will be returning my glasses and go somewhere else. FOLLOW UP: My wife talked me into giving them the opportunity to try again, seeing a different dr. I must say that my second visit was a considerable improvement over the first. It seems that the dr. I saw the first time was a fill-in. The second time I went, I saw Dr. Gong, and she was competent and caring . She got the prescription right, and found that I have macular degeneration. I've found that some of the staff are very professional, caring, and treat you like a customer...and that others are not. Based on my first visit, they would only get one star ...based on my last two visits, they would get 4 or 5. So, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. But make sure you get one of the permanent drs (if you get there and the dr you scheduled your appointment with is not there, I suggest rescheduling). And be vocal if you have questions/concerns. I am timid and my not asking questions may have contributed to my initial negative reaction. read more

Showed up about 10 minutes early for a 12:20pm eye exam appointment. I noticed that there were 2 people waiting for their exam sitting near the Doctor area. A clerk asked me to sit at a customer table and she didn't take too long to come over with paperwork for me to fill out. First I asked if the Dr. would be on time for my appointment noting the customers waiting. I was told, no, he is running behind due to equipment issue earlier in the day. I had to ask HOW LONG of a delay past my appointment time. She hesitated, and said could be as long as 30 mins to an hour. She said she would do my preliminary exam to save the Dr. time in doing that part!!! (So this wasn't the normal?!) I stated I could not wait that long past my appointment due to other appointments I had. Asking why they don't call expected customers to warn them of the long delay past their appointed time, she said they never do that. She started to prepare me to do the paper work for the prelim exam which she was going to do out there in the front of the store in front of everyone. This would put us of a distance from each other of only about 2 to 3 feet sitting across from each other at those tables....she was NOT WEARING A MASK! At that point I declined the exam and the offer of rescheduling. All of the customers/patients were wearing masks, but not the clerk who was going to do these procedures with me!!!! Had my first visit today I do have to say one of the clerks that was helping me she was absolutely awesome I hate that I didn't get her name because I would love to put it on here but then I saw doctor Jennifer Nguyen, she was very very pleasant made you feel at home and very comfortable totally loves her and the vibe she gave. **The only thing I definitely suggest and that's why the five stars didn't come into place was that when I did call and initially made my appointment and let them know I have insurance they did not inform me that they were out of my network therefore I show up to my appointment and go through the entire process just to find out that my insurance didn't cover that all could have been avoided had I been told over the phone. read more

I come to this location even when I have lived in Lincoln and Cameron Park. They're selection is always on point. Bruce is who helped me today but they always take the time to find you the best deal. I don't have vision insurance because our insurance doesn't cover LensCrafters. I have an HSA card and he was phenomenal in helping me understand how to use t when I didn't have enough to cover the complete costs. (I am an Oakley snob.) I went in on a Tuesday afternoon. No wait. I went in for my anual eye exam because I run out of contacts and this location was they only place that would take me right away.The first person who did my Exam was a lady doctor who was very nice. I then went back for a follow up visit and I was examined by a male doctor, he was rude and seem bothered when I could not read the letters he was pointing at. I don't think I will go back to this specific location for an eye exam, however, the ladies at the front desk are ver nice if anything I will still Order glasses and Contacts here. read more

My wife broke her glass frames on a Sunday morning when she had a ton of homework to get done. Having had a bad experience at Stanford Optical, we decided to give LensCrafters a try and were happy to see that they were open on Sundays. We weren't sure if we could get the glasses repaired and she did not have a prescription so we asked for an exam appointment and they were able to squeeze us in if we were able to get there within a half hour. We got to the desk and they asked if she was the 12:40 appointment and greeted her by name So far so good but that is where it stopped. My wife was seen by a doctor in a relatively short period of time and was released after a short examination. We waited in the waiting area and outside for at least a half hour with no communication. After going back inside we were told that a preliminary, non actual examination was not done and that it would be done when the doctor was done with other patients. We asked about the repair of the frames (no, but that was ok) and then asked if the lenses could be installed in one of their existing frames (no due to the shape and size of the lenses). The doctor then continued to discuss the actual costs of everything and with the required exam, lenses, and frames the least expensive option was over $500!! This would be an out of pocket expense for us as our vision doesnt kick in for another couple of months. All we wanted was a quick fix until this was done. My wife asked if we could just leave and we were relieved not to be charged for the preliminary exam. On top of it all, none of the associates were friendly or attentive. We went to a Walmart Optical department a few miles away where we were helped immediately and the optician said that though he couldn't fix the existing glasses, he could easily pop the lenses in another frame, which he found for less than $50 and installed/cleaned the lenses within 15 minutes and were were out of there...feeling like we just robbed somebody! read more

glasses keep getting cracks in the lenses. They last about a month after replacing lens. finally i asked for different glasses and the girl said they could not do that. The last time i had my lens replaced I found out they were made in china and i waited almost 3 weeks for a replacement lens. I will not go back for replacements!!! I have been going to this location for about 10-12 years, mainly for the convenience of getting an eye exam on the weekends or evenings. For the most part, the service has been great, however, there have been a couple of visits where the service was so bad and the store super busy, that I told myself I would never go back. Yet, I return. My vision is BAD. The opticians/optometrists seem to do a very good job so far. The exam is pretty standard, with the typical upsale of the retina scan. I'm not against dilation and it is covered by insurance, so until the scan is necessary, I will save money and stick with this method of checking my eyes. I knew since my last visit that I would need bi-focals. At my visit today, I decided on progressives and a new pair of prescription sunglasses. My 19 y.o. daughter also needed a refill on contacts and new glasses. Insurance only covers so much, and my single vision prescription lenses alone are a bit on the expensive side, and now we add multi-focal lenses and the cost is ridiculous. Needless to say, Lindsey, Nes (I think that was her name), and another lady (unfortunately I forgot her name) found the most beneficial ways to save me money on the 3 pairs of glasses and year's supply of contacts through the RayBan promotion, AAA, rebates, and of course my insurance. They didn't try to constantly upsale and they were just exceptional, resourceful and helpful. Today was also probably the least busy I ever seen this store, so I could not have had a better experience. Sure Lenscrafters as a RETAIL store is expensive, but eye exams are conveniently available in the evenings and weekends and they have a wide selection of frames. If you don't let them upsale you with unnecessary add-ons to your lenses, then the cost, with insurance, can be manageable. Except for one pair of prescription sunglasses, years ago (polarized lenses and red tint, which after a bit of back and forth was finally resolved), I have not had any issues with our prescriptions. Crossing my fingers, I hope not to have any issues with our current prescriptions. read more

While looking for a pair of frames I was surprised to discover that although Lens Crafters is a 'chain of stores' they differ in sales, styles and sales promotion. Although some offer more in terms of brands than other Lens Crafters the service was always exceptional however not inexpensive. Of course if one chooses the more stylish brands u will pay a higher price and when the glasses is factored in it could be $500-$600. read more

I had an appointment this morning at 11 am I made last week for an eye exam. I was told the wait would be 20 minutes after people with an appointment ahead of me asked when they would be seen. The Dr. was running late was all she said with no apology to anyone. The couple with the appointment before me left without being seen. Then I was told I'd have to wait 40 minutes since there was still someone ahead of me, then I left too. I'll never go here again and made an appointment elsewhere where the reviews are better. This place is terrible. You go in to order glasses (and paying cash). They make you wait because they prefer people who are getting their eye checked first. After waiting an hour, I placed an order with a optical tech for 2 glasses who looks no older then 12. He does what needs to with the frames that you request to make it fit and measure. I was very specific what frame, glasses, finish, and brand I wanted. I was also very specific that I do NOT want the display glasses, and if they can't get me new ones, then I would go somewhere else. He proceeded to place the order and I pay. I go pick up the glasses, and I went in at 6:15pm, but they make me wait until 6:50pm, and then they give me the glasses and try to hurry me out without proper fitting and inspection. I come home to find out that both frames were the display ones (and scratched), and both lenses that I ordered were not the same one. I return and they tell me its an error, and that I have to pay more, which is a joke, and they said that I left with the frames, and that if I was not okay with it, then I should have said something. I asked to speak to a manager, and they said she is off, and that I can call her tomorrow and speak to Liz. Granted, she was STILL in the STORE and I hanging out in the front. I proceeded to leave, dispute the charges with my credit card, contact the CA Dept of Consumer Affair, and the people who license opticians in CA. They may have screwed me $900 out of my glasses, but they won't hear the last of me. I rarely write reviews, but this place is terrible. DO NOT GO!!!!! read more

Back in 2014 I went to this LensCrafters and the Doctor was good and the technician was friendly, this was my first time ever receiving an eye exam/ eyeglasses this visit was Five stars. A year(2015) later I felt I should pickup contact lenses to switch if up a bit so I met with the same technician to get "fitted" for contact lenses. I try some on that they pulled out of a cabinet to the right, and over heard them say they don't have my prescription and they would need to order them.... No biggie I guess cause she comes over and I try some demos on and she watches me clean them and put them in, this wasn't anything new for me as I wore colored contacts for fun when I was a teen however; they were extremely blurry and I couldn't see anything out of my left eye. I let her know this and she said it will take some time to get used to and these ones are just practice but they are prescription so I can wear them. So I took them out and took them home. Fast forward to a week or so later and they call me and tell me my prescriptions ready and unfortunately I took forever to pick up the prescription (maybe two months but remind you these contacts don't expire till 2017). I called the LensCrafters three times and the first two times they couldn't find me in the system and said I would need to come in for an eye exam, I let them know that I don't need one but asked about the lenses and if they were sent back or something, (placed on hold) After a more thorough search she manages to find me and my contact lenses??????? She let me know she has my contact lenses and they don't expire till 2017 and I can come pick them up. Fast forward....... I got home and put my contact lenses in and long behold I can't f****** see out of my left eye and my right eye is always out of focus. And yes I thought "it will takes sometime to get used" nope I'm sorry I don't want to get used to being blind in one eye hell I see better without the damn thing in!!! I called the LensCrafters and all they would say was you have astigmatism and there is nothing else we can give you and you will either need to get used to them or just wear glasses.... And I was okay with that. A few more months in I tested my theory and opened a new set and put only my 1.25 lenses in both eyes.... Wow I could see out of my eyes (still not in focus but none the less I could see) I called LensCrafters to tell them about it and go figure I was told they can't find me in the system I would need to come in for an eye exam?!?!?!!!!! I had told them I just picked up these lenses three months ago! Sorry we can't find you are you sure it was us!!! Now in 2016 I've been cleaning up some old paperwork and I come across the LensCrafters prescription page And I immediately go into the bathroom and grab these contact lenses out the back of the medicine shelf and there it is right there on paper..... It was never my prescription to begin with! They just gave me what they had and said good luck! Probably never ordered Them the first damn time! Sorry I'm upset but I drove trying to "get used to these things" how the hell do you get used to wearing a eye prescription that isn't yours. Went to LC on Saturday to look for frames for my boyfriend. The selection was not what I expected compared to Gallaria and Arden. I ended up getting some sunglasses for myself though. Dr. Thomasy is an excellent optometrist. If you go here I recommend requesting her for your exam. For goodness sake don't go on Wednesdays!! The OD on Wednesdays is awful and gave me a very incorrect prescription. I never got her name but she should not be practicing. Maria, Oryan, and Sohan are all very nice and quite helpful. My experience would have been awesome if it wasn't for that first awful optometrist but Dr Thomasy fixed it all up for me. read more
