We ended up at LensCrafters when we couldn't find a kid's glass at my optometrist's location. We picked up a nice frame from here - we got a great deal. I was super happy. they had a deal going on at the point and I could get another backup glass for less than $150. After a month, we picked up that as well. It was all great. We visited in between for some adjustments and they did it so well. Now when it comes to my glasses, I picked up a frame, they checked my insurance and they did the math - it came around $600. I asked the guy who helped me why it's that costly, I had never paid more than $200 for my glasses ever. He said there are some changes to my prescription and for those glasses my insurance is not covering much. He showed me a few options and finally I ordered mine. I went there again for another pair - this time a reading glass - nothing fancy. It was another person who helped me this time. With a decent frame, it came around $400. I was curious when I saw that amount. He mentioned that my insurance is charging out-of-netwok - that's the reason the cost is high. Then I asked him to check my order - which is already in processing. He confirmed that I was charged the out of network rate - which the first person never mentioned it to me. I ended up canceling that order and did my orders elsewhere - costed me $145 and $120. I never understood why they hid the fact that insurance is charging at out-of-network rate. I understand that customer may not have checked whether LensCrafters fall under in-network or out of network. These are grey areas which change every year when you renew / change the insurance. Why don't they show the minimal courtesy to inform the customers about these details. You may get a few orders, but how long will you get on with it??? Never again! read more

Why the 3-star reviews from everyone? I just had an amazing experience with Josh (btw, a 17-year employee in this LensCrafters location.) Not only was he extremely knowledgeable of how glasses should fit, but he wasn't afraid to suggest a different frame if it didn't "look right" for my face. He shared the benefits of bi-focal (over my habit of having reader-only glasses and a separate pair to correct my normal vision.) It was a GREAT experience from the minute I arrived till the time I left 90 minutes later. Best of all, he was very patient! read more

Surprised at the wide range of reviews - so I'll provide my experience with the optometrist I saw. My insurance plan, EyeMed, has a very restrictive short list of available optometrists, and I had always been wary of the 'chain' stores, but decided to try it; its a 30 mile drive for me each way. Made my appt online, which worked great, and my appt was with Dr. Michelle Ngo (yes, Dr No!) Seemed like they called her Dr Michelle while I was there. Anyway, I was warmly greeted as I entered, checked in with the helpful staff, had the pre-screen (the retinal scan in now included in my plan). Dr Ngo was professional, listened to my concerns and history (I have had torn retina/Vitrectomy, cataracts lens) and my complaints about being able to see my computer screen. I received a 'test' set of contact lenses right there, wore them for a week, and wow, what a difference! I havent had to use 'reading glasses'. SO HAPPY! I really felt like I received a quality prescription, and kind attention from Dr. Ngo. My prescription for the contact lenses seemed rather spendy, my insurance covered most of it but I will likely shop around for the refill in 6mos. I did receive an eyeglass prescription as well, which I will likely fill at Costco. I despise all the add-on stuff they try to sell you, but since I am not buying here at LensCrafter, its not part of my rating. High 5 for Dr Ngo and the staff. Insurance stuff handled well, good COVID protocols, courteous folks. read more

Amazing costumer service! I was visiting from out of state. Got my new glasses right by for I left town from a private eye office in my state. Was getting headaches from them. Walked in and was greeted by Grant and told him my situation. He happily helped me out made the needed adjustments on my glasses. Headache is finally gone. Thank you so much Grant! It's so easy all the time! I have them my insurance 2 years and got 2 glasses. Every once in a while I get my lenses cleaned here since it's free, and it's a quick in and out. One time I needed to replace the nose piece and it was so quick. Since they have my insurance info, it was so fast and easy to get a pair of glasses and have it ready in a couple hours. So convenient. Affordable (compared to eye doctor's prices) as well. read more

My experience details the office of Kathryn Thomas. I would urge nobody come here if you can help it. The doctor will actually charge YOU $25 for THEM being behind if you'd like to reschedule. It's absolute nonsense but they say their rescheduling policy is strict. If you can't wait for for over an hour past your appointment, head elsewhere. If they're behind, you will pay to reschedule. How to improve ? Not have an absolute non sense scheduling scheme. read more

A 3:30 appointment with Dr Kathryn Thompson means somewhere around 4:45, but it's ok because it's not her fault. I've bought numerous sets of glasses here and this will be my last. Typical doctor, zero respect for someone else's time but you get repeated message saying not to be late. read more

The experience was so bad I had to make a yelp account just to review it. I would give this zero stars if I could. This is ONLY for Dr Thompson. She was condescending and rude. I couldn't think of the brand of contacts I use but tried my best to describe the packaging she told me that I was making it up and those definitely don't exist. She then refused to prescribe me monthly contacts and acted like I was stupid for even asking to switch from daily contacts. I was given new contacts to try and were told those were my option. I was never asked how they felt or if they were comfortable. When I expressed that they weren't super comfortable I was told it was because I put them in wrong. I was never offered any other solution. While walking out I heard her mocking me to the woman at the front desk because I didn't want daily contacts. I will never return. In fact I booked another contact appointment at another location. That extra charge is well worth it! read more

This place is absolutely amazing!! I came here as a total skeptic. But I had to get glasses for both my son and myself and couldn't find quality glasses at other places. Not only does Lens Crafters carry high end name brand glasses, they don't charge you an arm and a leg for them. My Coach glasses cost, to the penny, what my insurance would cover. I walked out paying $50 for my glasses!!! And let me tell you. Leanna Hill is stupendous!!! Her customer service is ON POINT!! I'm a very hard nose person when it comes to what truly great customer service looks like. And let me tell you. She delivered on all points and then some. After ranting and raving about this store, my friend even went and bought a pair of glasses. I honestly will never go anywhere else for my glasses again. I had an appointment this evening at 5pm and was treated well by the employees - by 5:45pm - I still wasn't seen by the doctor, I gave up and went home I will definitely NOT be doing my business here. I will go where my time is respected. Even a quick, "the doctor is running late" would have sufficed. I called back to check on my sons Rx ... needless to say, they were NOT concerned with a customer leaving in disgust. I am reminded that there is a pandemic going on... yeah so maybe we should schedule a few more people waiting in the lobby... read more

Jeff and (sorry, I forgot the woman's name!) were very friendly and helpful and ended up referring me down to All American Eyeglass Repair in Kirkland, which was an excellent referral. Best customer service! I came here to get my glasses adjusted since they were a bit off. The guy that I was talking with was the most professional and nicest person that I've interacted with at an eyewear place. He not only adjusted the glasses perfectly but he also explained frame design and how my frames were different when compared to a different pair of frames. This guy sounded like he really had a passion for eyewear and also ensuring the customer experience was top notch. He also cleaned my glasses so well. Probably the cleanest they have ever been; things look so much clearer now. On the way out he also gave me a few eyewear cleaner samples. Did I mention that this was all free and I didn't have to schedule anything; I just dropped in. I will definitly be coming back to this locatoin again and I might be switching optomoterists to here in the near future. read more

This review is mostly for Dr Kathryn Thompson, who is an independent doctor of optometry. However, her office is located in this LensCrafters location. If I had my way, I would choose not to go to LensCrafters. In my experience at other locations, everything seems much more expensive and I really don't need a thousand frames to pick from. This place had the same feel. More about that later. I haven't seen an eye doctor in 5 years. This was my first visit since moving to Washington. I was nervous, but Dr. Thompson put my worries at bay. We talked about our kids and, considering all the crap I'm going through right now, it was a welcome conversation to put things into perspective. Basically, kids will be grown and off to college in the blink of an eye. Enjoy every damn minute while I can. After my exam was over -- an ever so slight change to my prescription -- Dr. Thompson handed me my prescription and I was on my way -- to be fed to the LensCrafters wolves. I didn't get the name of the woman who helped me, but overall I felt she was nice and not pushy. She picked out a few frames for me to try. She looked up my insurance and told me I had something like $120 allowance for frame and lenses. To be fair, prior, I was always on my own insurance and very diligent about knowing what was covered and my out of pocket. Now that I'm on my husband's insurance, I just go with the flow, and kind of expect him to know these things. And having said that, this is why I agreed to go to LensCrafters. My husband is a creature of habit. I had preferred to go to a "local" optometrist, but he insisted on going to LensCrafters. Well, after deciding on a pair of frames (they cost $125), the lady rings it up and I only see a discount of $62.50. I shoot a look at my husband and he just shrugs his shoulders. When I ask the lady about it, she prints out something and shows me all the discounts yadda yadda. I totally don't understand what she's showing me, but insisted that the discount was in there. She did try to sell me on some coating or some sh** that tacked on quite a bit, and then some "insurance" that cost another $35 if the glasses broke or whatever within a year. I passed on all of the extras. I know I should have just gotten my lenses replaced in my current frames, which I still love 5 years later. Then I wouldn't have had to deal with half of this crap. For the new frames and lenses, it cost about $158, which I guess is OK, considering I was told the cost without insurance would have been $500+. I don't know what to believe, since the breakdown wasn't shown to me before they asked for payment. I'm hoping next year I'll have my own insurance and will take the time to research the best places to get frames and lenses, or maybe I'll just switch back to contacts. So, TLDR: Dr. Thompson -- thumbs up; LensCrafters -- thumbs down. read more

Dr. Roman Hamasaki has been wonderful all FIVE of my visits! I'm frequently getting debris stuck in my eyes, and he has always been gentle and speedy helping me! He's taken rusted metal out of my cornea PAINLESSLY in just three minutes! He even was kind enough to take my mom back after my appointment to check her eye when he noticed the redness! I have also now gone in for two pairs of glasses, and am always satisfied with the lenses and frames. Though there may be cheaper places out there, I'm staying loyal to the incredible people at Eye Q Vision! read more

The staff was very knowledgable and attenitive. However, they did not clearly state early on that they did not participate with my vision plan and that I would be paying everything up front. It would have been much more helpful if they informed me of this prior to running through most all of the process. The eye doctor at this location is great. She was more than helpful and accommodating when helping me get fitted for contacts. The whole place offers a AAA discount (30% off) which is great if you don't have insurance. Keep in mind you can't use the discount on contact lens orders. On another note, when it came time to pick out my frames, the LensCrafters staff was not helpful at all. I looked through every frame in the store before someone finally came to ask me if I needed help. This was after 30 minutes, by the way. Their prices seemed steep and the selection not great and I was right. I ended up getting frames that were a brand they carried but a style they didn't have for 1/2 the price elsewhere. I will continue to see Dr. Thomson here but, most likely, will never by frames here. In conclusion... This place gets a 3 as an average score. 2 for the LensCrafters.. 4 for the eye doctor. read more

My brother and I went to LensCrafters (on the same day) and within two weeks he had new glasses. I have been waiting three weeks and counting for my glasses. Though the staff was courteous, and the selection was nice, not having the final product for three weeks leaves a bad taste in my mouth. One star for the staff. read more

Just moved here from the east coast and needed to get the nose pad on my glasses fixed. Went to this store, walked in, and was greeted by Josh. Very friendly and very helpful!! Awesome experience working with Rachel! Went in needing sunglasses but had no idea where to start. Rachel greeted me immediately and helped me understand the brands and options with lenses (I didn't know there were different options for sunglass lenses!) Three years in a row I have regretted coming to this location because of the receptionists that run the desk for the eye exams. The first year I had to endure listening to three of the girls talking about the night out they had over the weekend. I'm down for having a good time, but you probably shouldn't talk about the 'adventure' you had after the clubs closed when your client is within ear shot. Last year I was running tight on time and I also thought, oh those girls probably aren't there anymore... let me give them one more chance. I was wrong and their service was just as great as always. I heard way too much about their personal lives and was barely acknowledged when I came in. The Dr is very, very sweet though, professional and courteous, because of this, shame on me, but I tried for a third year. Booked my appointment online. Received a confirmation email. Arrived for my appointment at the scheduled time. Only to be told by the same lovely receptionist from the previous 2 years that my appointment was an hour earlier. Here I sit in my car outside of the office, checked the confirmed time through my email. Sure enough I arrived ON TIME. Heck with them though. I am going somewhere else. The Dr is wonderful, but the girls that work for her need training on how to be professional. read more

Was excited when I learned LensCrafters was in network for my VSP insurance plan. I reviewed my plan throughly before I came in. Shocked when they tried to charge me for things that were supposed to be covered. Total was $155. Went across to Pearl Vision (in the Alderwood Mall by Nordstrom) and got the same exact frames and lenses for $39. read more

This is always short handed and the glasses I bought as three times the amount of what I paid at Costco and I have never had to go in and have them fixed there. I'm in here now the fourth time. The lens had a coating that always tends to get dirty to the point I can't get them clean and they have had to replace the lens once. I came here because I needed a rush on my glasses and regret it. The doctors office in this location I used as well and they gave me the wrong prescription to be filled and that delayed things. I wouldn't bother to coming here as it's just a circus and everyone tend to come in late to work as well. I've spoken one on one with some of the staff and most are sent to help out here because this spot always has issues. They should try a number system as people were going ahead of me and some staff here shouldn't be in customer service. Go to Costco right behind here. So much better over all. read more

I've been to this location several times now and the staff has been professional and knowledgeable with good customer service each time. My eye exam with Dr. Thompson was very thorough and informative. I felt that all my questions and concerns were acknowledged and answered. They sent me home with a few contact lens trials. The follow up exam was quick and I finally found some contacts that work for me at a reasonable price. I've purchased glasses from this location in the past, and they make it a point and take the time to have it fit your face properly. I've also had to redeem my one year warranty on a pair of glasses that broke. The process was super easy and I only had to wait a few days for the new ones to be made. read more

This is the only place I will ever purchase glasses again. Long story short: After 2 incorrect Rx's from 2 eye refractions in my ophthalmologist's office, resulting in 2 sets of incorrect lenses filled at this wonderful office in Lynnwood, I saw Dr. Kathryn Thompson (Optometrist) here for yet a 3rd refraction. She is fantastic! The best. Her Rx was perfect. Huge difference from the other doc's 2 Rx's. I will go to her from now on when I need new glasses. In the 4 or 5 visits to this office I got to know Rachel (General Manager) and Galina (17 years Optician experience) very well. Trust me - they are top notch, very knowledgeable and professional as well as patient and kind. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Oh, and all 6 of my glasses were ready in less than an hour. Love this place and the people here!! read more

Can't say enough about the wonderful service we received at the Lynnwood, Lens Crafters. My 77 year old Mom had a bad fall which broke her glasses and scratched one of her lenses. She needed the glasses fixed and one new lens, which was taken care of professionally by the staff at this location. read more

You expect attention to detail when getting glasses. I had three different people start to help me only to leave to help other customers. Leaving me to explain my needs three times. The selection of frames is pathetic. It was difficult to understand the receptionist and the doctors assistant because of thick accents. The optometrist neglected to put on my prescription that my lenses are bifocals (Minor Detail...Not). If you require good customer service and attention to detail this is not the place to go. read more

An absolute rip off. The price for the eye exam was 3 times higher than what you can get elsewhere. The average price according to the salesman on frames was 170 dollars... but most of what was in the store was well over 200. They had a meager selection of 100 dollar frames but they were all some of the ugliest frames I've ever seen. It is obvious that the salespeople work for commission and treat anyone not looking to spend 300 dollars on frames with disdain. They had a sale going on. 50% off of lenses, which start at 125 dollars for the lowest quality. You can do the math. 200 dollar frames (if you're lucky), + 125 dollar eye exam + 60 dollars for lenses will run you almost 400 dollars. If you have that much money to blow during this recession then by all means, do so. For the rest of us... STEER CLEAR. You can get glasses + frames online for under a hundred dollars. I will be giving that a shot. read more
