I had managed to bend and crack the arm of my glasses. I stopped by the Lenscrafters in Palm Desert to see if they could reshape and repair the arm. Raul was the technician who helped me that day. He was able to fit a "sleeve" over the cracked arm of my glasses. He was very patient in sliding on the sleeve and removing any bunching before applying heat to seal and reshape. I come here every year for a check-up and glasses. The dr.'s are nice and helpful. The lobby staff is another story. For the past two years I have gotten a trainee who doesn't know how to do anything. There is one girl and one guy there that have been there a long time. They are helpful and get things done. I've been to other LensCrafters. This has got to be the worst, not because they are in a mall, not because the place took water and smells terrible. No, this place sucks because the manager and every sales person missed the class on customer service. There is none. They won't do much more than the absolute minimum. Sometimes you don't have a place to sit even though a salesperson or two may be using the seats for god knows what. They are usually talking about when they should take their very important break. I was treated as an inconvenience on my first trip to this store. I paid a lot of money for my glasses even though I have insurance. Don't know if it's my insurance or all the crap they tack on. Don't count on a deal when it comes to their so called "sales" by the way. 40% off lenses means double the frame price. Oh and you need to buy the frame for the 40% to work. I picked up the glasses and paid for the accident insurance. Within a couple weeks I broke the frames and then I really became a pain to the LensCrafters' Palm Desert sales people. They did OK on the phone but when I decided to try to order a second pair bc the pair was nice but fragile, they wouldn't help. They alerted me that they are discontinuing the frames. I asked if there was anything she could do she simply said no. No recommendation for another pair no suggestion of any kind. I told her she wasn't being helpful and she alerted me to the fact that she has been with this fine company for 7 years. Wow I hope she wasn't this unhappy all of those years. So at my urgent request she said she could try to order the frames from another store. They would call me back. She never returned my call. When I called them they said they can't order it and had no other suggestion. So sorry. So I ordered the frames directly from RayBan. When I got them I called LensCrafters to see if they would cut me the lenses for the new frames. They said to come on in even though I begged them to look at my records bc this was the same frame and prescription they just sold me. When I got there they found me a seat and the salesperson took my new glasses behind the curtain. After a few minutes waiting for the great Oz, LensCrafters refused to cutdavid o my prescription for the new glasses even though they just supplied the exact pair this year. I give up and won't be using them for anything else. I guess it's for the best though because I don't need the abuse from these "customer representatives". Waste of time and you won't like the experience or result. Might as well grab a number and go to Costco. You still won't have a chair but it'll end up being cheaper and the people treat you with respect. read more

My boyfriend and I came in an hour before close and even though the staff was getting ready for inventory, they let us try on every pair we wanted. The sales guy was able to convince the technician to stay 15 minutes late so my boyfriend was able to leave with his brand new pair of glasses that same day and see clearly for the first time in way too long, and they had my prescription lenses ready first thing the next morning. Our sales guy ended up staying open a half hour late for us and as people with really inflexible schedules we couldn't be more thankful!! While I've been to other Lens Crafters with a better selection of high end glasses, I've never received better service. Thank you so much for our glasses!! read more

Even with an appointment I waited 45 min for a clerk to perform preliminary tests. Waited over an hour to see optometrist. They are much more interested in walk in sales as they assisted every walk in for the 45 min before I complained. read more

After my rant, Lenscrafters contacted me for further information an they asked me to speak with the manager and discuss the issue. The manager was very apologetic and they immediately ordered replacement lenses for my glasses. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to lens crafters today. I always go to an optician and order my eyeglasses on line. Karen was very knowledgeable and efficient. Although I had to wait for service without an appointment I did get to shop from the huge selection while waiting and pick the glasses I wanted to try on. Of course I picked the most expensive but insurance covered some of the cost. I was shocked that the glasses would be ready in an hour and if I wasn't happy I could return them in a week. Horrible experience ! Long wait for the exam . The person who did my tonometry was horrible . It took him 7 times blowing air in my eye ! The optometrist was rude and quick . The exam lasted 5 minutes ! There was no customer service in helping to pick out frames and when I did , the sales person rushed me and tries to sell me the most expensive lenses they could and got frustrated with my questions. Worst front desk, no acknowledgement what so ever, everyone just passes by you & make no eye contact. Only 1 employee whom stands out each & every time & that's Sebastian. Sebastian seems to be the only one to know what customer service is & provides EXCELLENT customer service. Been @ this location 3 times in this past year and for some reason he is the only one to be providing service, greeting the customer, and cares for the customer. If it wasn't for him my visit would have been a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!! If I could rate only him with no questions asked he gets 5 stars but unfortunately can't say the same for the business and everyone else there. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had trying to get lenses for my glasses. First I scheduled a eye appointment and they had no record of. It took 2/12 hrs just to get the exam done. The after telling me the could put new lenses in my existing glasses they told me that they weren't able because the frames got hot and rolled. Totally BS!!! They just want to sell you new frames. Not to mention this place was dirty, water stains and mold on the ceiling in the exam room. Way under staffed. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time like I did. read more

I scratched a pair of readers badly. My optician is based in Los Angeles, i have been in the desert for the past year due to Covid, LensCrafters needed a prescription faxed to them so, no problem, i tracked down my prescription and it was faxed over. it took a day for LensCrafters to locate the prescription and when they did they informed me that it has expired (by 4 months). We have been in a pandemic, right? they informed me that i needed to schedule an exam in order for them to replace my lenses. Did i mention that these are readers? it is Covid and i have been very careful, i have no desire to get an exam for readers. i do not drive with these glasses. they are only for reading. Their staff was condescending and rude. Their district manger was short and unhelpful and said i needed to come in for an exam. Did i mention that because of Covid they can no longer guarantee 1 hour lenses but they can get you an eye exam. i guess when it works for them. I will be sending my glasses to LA to get fixed. unfortunately it won't take hours for me to get them back but the customer service at my eyeglass store in LA is amazing. I came in and the lady snapped her fingers at me to sit down when I wanted to know my prescription, she had to go all the way to the doctor to ask, when she could of looked it up on the computer. was set up with Dr. Ho through a third party source. and usually dont expect much with the Doctors I see through this source. However it seems Dr. Ho and her staff are the exception to the norm. Dr. Ho actually corrected and improved my previous glasses prescription. The Staff was helpful and knowledgeable in what lenses would best work not only for me but also for where I work. Beware this business if you have any issues. They are not accommodating and promise help but do not deliver. The fill-in optometrist gave me incorrect advice and the corporate and local managers were not sincere in their promise to replace the lens that were sold to me. Worse experience! Stay away! Went on Saturday as was told that it would be 1/2 hour before someone could help me. Understaffed!!! Went back today at 9:30 and again understaffed with the woman waiting on me also having to answer the phone. I told her what kind of frames I was looking for and all she did was say to look for Armani frames on the wall. After I selected frames (she did not help at all) she could not get the computer camera to take a correct picture of my eyes after over a dozen tries. Then after she finally had the whole order completed in the computer system, the entire order was lost and she went to reboot the system. That's when I walked out. read more

I purchased 2 pairs of glasses from the LensCrafters in Moreno Valley 2 days ago and came to this location in Palm Desert for an adjustment. During my time there, the person assisting me made a comment that it was a good thing I purchased a warranty. Little did I know it was because when he/she was adjusting them, he/she broke the templar of one of the glasses. To make things worse, I did not purchase the warranty, as I am pretty careful with my stuff. It wasn't until I got home and realized the damage. Do not go to lensecrafters or Eyexam of California. They tell you (without lying) that they take your insurance(Cigna in my case) whereby actually they are "out of network"; so they do not take the insurance. These people are on commission and only have one thing in mind - Your money. Even when I called Cigna they knew exactly what Lensecrafters was "Up to"..... Stay away. Call your insurance company first and they will send you a list of the doctors that are covered under your insurance. Do not trust they swindlers..... read more

Mixed review. Don't come here for a cheap pair of glasses. Once you get your glasses they are fine. But getting them can be daunting. Usually you have to wait quite a long time to talk to someone, then they aren't very helpful in helping you you choose a pair of glasses. it's more like, "here, go in this direction". Had an issue with my glasses where one of the arms had bent after a fall. Eric ( at the LC in the mall) went above and beyond the call of duty to see if the tech could fix it even though it was slightly out of warranty. They got it back to near normal and referred me to a repair shop in Cathedral City to see if they could either order a new arm or fix it more. It worked out great! However, I had first called the other stand alone Palm Desert location. That person didn't want to even see it or be bothered. Said we don't fix things here and gave me a name for a place in the mall. Turned out he even gave me the wrong name of the place! Customer service was severely lacking ( Zero stars for them ) at that store and four stars for Eric who stepped a little out of the box to help a loyal customer. I still might not go back to Lens Crafters next time around due to costs but something should be done about inconsistent customer service! read more

I had been going to this Lenscrafters for 10+ years until recently when a doctor there gave me the wrong prescription and said I could return the contacts (which were already overpriced) if they didn't work out. So naturally I tried to return them and they refused. I asked to exchange them for the correct prescription and they refused. I don't know if they intentionally misled me or flat out lied but that's pretty crap customer service if you ask me. Needless to say, I won't be returning to any Lenscrafters after that. read more

Very unhappy. Bought my frame there. Took over two weeks to get them back. Had to go back twice to get the correct prescription. Always at least a two week wait. Luckily I have back up glasses. At least 4 people tried to adjust them many, many times but they are still pinching and I can't wear them for more than half an hour without getting a headache. The wait at the store in the Desert Crossing is always long. They have young people working there who are not properly trained. Also understaffed. I am just tired of going back for more adjusting. So, I walk into the shop and am told I can get my prescription filled that day. I select frames, pay in full, and am then informed that my frames have to be ordered, but don't worry because they will be in in a few days at most..I tell them I'm going on vacation and must have the glasses. No problem, I am told. I look at the receipt and it has a delivery date of two weeks hence. I inquire, what is going on, you just said a few days? Oh, she replies, that's just a formality. They will certainly be here in a few days. Not so. Eight days go by, and I receive a delivery. I was supposed to pick up in the store. The glasses are not mine. Not even close. I call the store. They will inquire and fix it all up and give me a substitute pair while waiting for the order. Does that mean they never placed the order in the first place. She doesn't know. Will call me back later, and don't worry, we will take care of you. Twenty four hours pass. No return call. I call back. The answerer says, I will figure this out at once. Stay on the line. I do....until I am disconnected. read more
