Great selection of glasses! My husband and I have been coming for years. The staff is great too!

They HATE helping customers. They hate helping people. They hate the basic service of checking someone in. They will do whatever they can to turn business away, make things hard for customers, think opposite of helpful. Doctors are mediocre. Prices are extremely high. Upcharge everything. The front desk hates when someone walks up and they have to assist you... in my years of going here I've actually never been made to feel welcomed or valued. I will never go back. read more

Whereas LensCrafters seems to have a reasonably good inventory of frames from which you can select, don't believe anything you're told about how long it will take for them to make up your glasses. I've used LensCrafters a couple times and each time it's an ordeal with mistakes and extended periods of time for them to make up the Glasses. I'm waiting for. The first time they ordered the wrong lens and switched the prescription for my right and left eyes. They had to remake the glasses and from the time I first got there and ordered them to the time I got the final product was two days short of a month. The second time I had glasses made up there what was supposed to take 1 Week, actually took three weeks. I had asked for those glasses to be scratch resistant and soon learned that they were not. In fact, there are different scratch resistant products that they sell, and they gave me the lowest level without an option for an upgrade when it was ordered. I brought the glasses back to them and showed them how easily they scratched and was then told I could pay an extra $25 to have better scratch resistance. I told them I would have done that the first time I've been informed. They offered to order me new lenses for my glasses and said that would take 1 Week. We are on day 20 and I still do not have my new lenses and absolutely cannot see out of the glasses that they made for me because they are so scratched after a short period of time. I'm told that the lenses are currently now in the final stages of inspection and it will take approximately another 5 to 10 days for them to be shipped out. Once again, this is way more than the 1 Week for processing in order that I was promised and was told there was no way to have it expedited read more

I cannot get over my wonderful experience here!!! the store is so beautiful and incredibly well lit. I couldn't believe what a luxurious experience it was. It seems like a high-end department store. The staff were accommodating and friendly and made my 2 year old son feel right at home. They sure know what they are doing at this place which really helps speed up the process and avoid any hiccups. I ordered a great pair of glasses for my son, they were ready just a few days later and when we picked them up, they fit them Perfectly to his face. I ordered two pairs of eyewear on 1/6/25 and had heard nothing from LensCrafters until I called ten days later. It turns out that one pair of glasses had been mis-ordered, the second pair remain undelivered - over three weeks since the original contract. I explained to the salesperson that they are all very friendly when I am shopping, but, if I want to know what the status of my order is, they are absent. I went back this past Friday and "Tatiana" (who has very poor customer relations skills) was walking away while I was still speaking. I have ordered several pairs of glasses over the years at this store and about a dozen more from their other stores. Always the same issue: failure to meet promises made. Mine is a $2K+ order and I feel very jaded by the TO store in particular. I need answers, professional and courteous or I will cancel the order and get a refund. I sent the gist of this to their website and it advised ("response within one business day") that if no response immediately they can expect I will return to cancel the entire order. I had paused on noting this in Yelp, giving them the "one business day" promise that they would respond. Crickets... I had originally chosen not to do a 1 Star on Yelp and give them the chance to make good on our contract, however, I must post my sincere disappointment. They failed and now I am posting this and will visit the store to cancel everything, unless, of course, their missing manager takes the time to respond and make this right. read more

I made an appointment and asked for a specific Optometrist. I came in and mentioned I had an appointment with the specific Optometrist. Another Optometrist came into the exam room to examine me. The front desk deceived me and didn't tell me I would see another Optometrist, and the one I wanted was there, but didn't talk to me. I was very annoyed but anxious to get new glasses. The exam was done then I approached the woman at the front desk who deceived me. I told her I was annoyed with what she did, and she told me that I can arrange to see the preferred Optometrist next year. The Optometrist who did my exam handed me my prescription and escorted me to a frame sales representative. They wanted a sale but I told them I'm leaving with the prescription, and they were disappointed. I got my glasses made elsewhere, and the prescription was flawed, and I can't see well with the glasses after all. I was mistaken for staying for the exam at Lens Crafters. I was in a hurry and the Optometrist screwed up. The one I wanted to see initially would have done a better job. Even though I take responsibility for staying there when I should have gotten up and left, I was treated like unwanted luggage. I was manipulated, disrespected, and got glasses that are flawed. Getting things corrected would be a fiasco because the Optometrist would blame the Optician at the other place and the Optician would blame the Optometrist for screwing up. I suggest you don't go to this Lens Crafters outlet, unless of course you want to be put on a back burner while dealing with incompetent, rude people. read more

Very overpriced and ... I bought some glasses that very quickly stated to crack from the top of the frame. Small cracks coming down that progressively got bigger. I took them back and the made me a new pair, then the exact same thing happened. They gave me attitude as if I was causing this. I've been wearing glasses for 45 years and know how to take care of them. They also wanted me to use the warranty I bought and pay the deductible, so I had to tell them No, the glasses are obviously defective. I had them replaced again with a different frame. They were about $15 more and they made out like they were doing me a big favor for not making me pay this. I've had this pair for a few months now, and all has been good until one of the nose pads came off. They told me it would take an hour to fix! I can't see at all without my glasses. And again they told me there would be no charge as if they were doing me a favor. I've never had to pay for replacing a nose pad at any other optometrist. read more

As someone who comes here several times each year, I have figured out that there are two good employees who work here. Eric(young guy with black brown hair) and Janel(asian woman). If you are a POC, please do not pick anyone else because you have a high likelihood of experiencing microagressions and/or rudeness. There used to be this older woman who worked here I think she was the manager. I have never seen a person treat others(customers and especially coworkers) so rudely. I used to watch her berate her coworkers for the smallest things right in front of me(the customer). How uncomfortable for all parties! I don't know if she works here anymore but she was the closest thing to the devil. Now, there is another woman who seems to have taken over that role. AVOID this woman at all costs. I have taken a photo. She was so overtly rude that I needed to find another sales associate one time. Again, Eric and Janel are the only truly nice ones here that I know of. My experience had quite a range from the good, to the bad, to the ugly. The good (great): Javier. He was friendly, helpful, so thorough and did not pressure me at all. I looked forward to getting my glasses from him. Javier helped to fine tune them through three separate adjustments. It was a 100% positive experience. What an asset! Clone the guy. The bad: The glasses were sky-high expensive. I found the exact same frames for $250 online that they had listed at $450. If I provided the frames, the price of the lenses soared! Javier was able to adjust it down to just $1k from an even higher price. Thank you Javier. The ugly experience: An absolutely miserable, cold as ice to the point she was a downright rude employee who does eye exam intake almost had me turn around and walk out the door. Then I thought she may have just been having a really, really bad day. I asked her if she was okay, but it didn't help. When I shared this with the friend who recommended this LensCrafters, she also commented on the very frostbite experience with her. Maybe there's a job with there with no exposure to customers that she might thrive in. In conclusion, if you want great customer service, it's Javier all the way, but steel yourself for the eye exam. They seem nice, but they have no idea what they are doing billing wise. I think because it's two separate entities everything gets mixed up. Literally wasn't told what I would be charged for right away and they try to upsell. I realize now why I go to local optometrists and not large corporations. I've been coming to this location for several years now and never had a bad experience until now. I had an appointment last March for both contacts and eyeglasses. I lost the contact lenses prescription and I called the office yesterday to see if they could email it to me. I thought that this would be an easy, straightforward request. Apparently, it's more difficult than you'd expect. After two days and four phone calls, I have yet to receive it. I spoke with four different people and they all told me that they would email it to me with 15-30 minutes but nothing. I was even told that they "send emails between appointments." Four people- four excuses- and no copy of the prescription that I paid for. Now I'll just contact the corporate office, as well as the state to complain that they are withholding the prescription. read more

I was in the area and needed a new pair of Rx sunglasses as my current pair recently got really scratched. I selected a pair of Oakley frames that I really liked. I was then helped by Holly who provided me with options for lens and confirmed my insurance with VSP. She advised since I had already used my main benefit that I was entitled to 40% off frames and lens. Thank goodness for discount options! I have vision insurance, plus an Auto Club membership. Both can help bring the retail cost down on frames and lenses. Which you'll need, since LensCrafters has been struck by designer-madness. Virtually all of their frames are big-name brand selections. Somebody's got to pay for their expensive lifestyle, and guess what, it's you, if you purchase the "famous" designer brand frames. Though I've recently been liberated from wearing glasses on a daily basis after decades of being stuck with them, I did need a pair for night driving conditions. After leaving my optometrist's office with a fresh prescription, I came to LensCrafters seeking a quick turnaround to getting new glasses, so I could be done with that to-do item. In retrospect, I may resign myself to waiting one to two weeks for other options on getting glasses made. The cost would be significantly lower, for starters! When I went in, the place was hopping. I do give props to the staff for keeping things moving. One of the team set me up with a tray for holding my selections I wanted to try on, and showed me the areas to shop. Due to COVID-19 protocols, they ask you to leave any frames you try on in designated collection trays so that they can clean them before returning them to the wall displays. I picked out several pairs, but despite having all those designer names, there wasn't that much variance in overall shape choices. The associate who was helping me tried to make a couple other suggestions, but they weren't flattering to my face, so I stuck with my own selection. The "One Hour" turnaround is long-gone - they removed it from their advertising. I left off my order about Noon, and was told to return at 4:30. When I went back at 5:00, they were still in the lab. Ran errands nearby and returned about 45 minutes later. This time, they were done. One of the associates cleaned and adjusted them for me, and I was finally out the door with my overpriced spec's. I do appreciate the customer service, and am grateful for my vision insurance to help pay for the glasses, but again, I will likely not return to LC as my first choice for prescription glasses next time, due to cost factors, and the only high-end styles that aren't that remarkable. read more

Oh my god that place is like being in a sauna but worse we were all sweating in there every single person in the store. They really need to get the air conditioner fixed ASAP. The only reason I was able to stand being there for long enough to get my eye exam is because Jackie, Nancy, Tatiana and Eric were so amazing that I don't wanna go anywhere else and I'm willing to sweat like a pig in order to work with them instead of someone else but if you guys don't fix this air conditioning you're gonna lose great people I'm sure because they were sweating and customers too. read more

Customer service is awful here. I do not know if they do not like children or if their customer service is always so unhelpful. For every visit I have gone in it takes them a very long time to even acknowledge that we are waiting, even when they don't seem busy. On top of that they are a scam I went to get my son's glasses replaced and they did not explain to me that after I paid for a replacement pair he could no longer keep the old pair. They will not even refund me even though their lack of explanation did not disclose that VERY important part of the terms. So I would recommend you go to Target because I found the exact same brand and glass style for HALF! Of what I had paid at LensCrafters. I go to storefronts instead of online for the advice and support. I always walk out of Lenscrafters feeling neglected though. Frames never fit well, getting adjustments never helps... it feels like they aren't qualified to be helping. A bad fitting frame can affect your vision as much as a bad prescription! My glasses would dance on my face and one lens would be too far from my eye causing dizziness, etc. 1. When picking glasses, no help was given for proper fit or size. 2. When receiving glasses. No care was taken to fit them properly. I also just found out recently that my insurance was out of network and they never told me so I drastically overpaid for what I see as poor quality glasses. In the end, my $400 rayban frames cracked in multiple spots in less than a year. Never again. If you're going to charge Specialist prices, give Specialist service. read more

Recently, I purchased three pairs of glasses. The order was filled and arrived in no more than a week. Two pairs were perfect, while the 3rd was not. It was to be used for computer / desk work and still provide for distance in a small margin across the top. Without blinking, Amruta Patel, Manager for your Thousand Oaks store, offered to re-do the pair for the correct prescription. She even encouraged me to keep the initial pair as a temporary fix while the new pair was made. This isn't the first time this manager was able to resolve issues and inadvertent mistakes. This store with Holly and Marina has been terrific. Dr. Sarkis, O.D. is the best out there. Holly always comes through with great advice and service. Kudos to Amruta. While she didn't remember the one other time she needed to jump in an d help me for an unresolved issue, I haven't forgotten. Her kindness and expertise are much appreciated. read more

Ive been shopping for bluelight glasses online since I work on computers so much and couldnt exactly settle on a pair so I decided to stop by LensCrafters after my volunteer work to hopefully buy some. After my experience I will NOT be making a purchase here. Walking in I was greeted and asked if I needed help I said I was just looking around and trying things on. My sunglasses/glasses collection is currently Gucci, Prada and Raybans. Raybans is in front of their store so I headed there first to try a bunch on. I found a couple I kinda liked but then went around the store not finding much BUT then of course found the best section with some of my favorites. I start trying on some Guccis and Prada then a older gentleman with white hair comes over to ask me if I had my prescription with me..(not if I liked any or to offer styles to try on) I said no and laughed in a friendly way, and said "oh I don't have a prescription" his response was "Then why do you want these glasses" and stared at me!!! I then responded "I'm fine, thank you I'm just looking." He made me SO UNCOMFORTABLE. I wanted him to get AWAY from me. WHAT KIND OF RESPONSE IS THAT TO A CUSTOMER!!!???? and one that is looking to buy designer glasses??????? He was standing so close but not helping in anyway then when I go to walk back to the RayBan section he says "have a good day" as if I was leaving - like he was just watching to MAKE ME LEAVE. I told him "seems like you want me to leave" he said "oh no no." Please this man is a joke and racist. I knew what he was doing and what he was assuming about me. SURPRISE- Then suddenly the manager was helping me the rest of the time. She was nice and ACTUALLY helpful. I found three pairs I really liked thanks to her but that man....totally ruined the experience. I couldn't stand being there unfortunately. I took pictures and told her I wanted to show my husband. It's so sad that I felt like I had to explain to her that I was coming from work so I wouldn't be treated the same way again. I shouldn't have to explain myself. I'm there for glasses... I'm a Latina woman in my mid thirties who does volunteer work at a farm for children in my free time on top of my career. This store and this man completely judged me, PROFILED ME and it was DISGUSTING. I told the manager before I left he shouldn't be questioning why anyone wants to buy a pair of glasses or even try them on. He should be helping them, exactly like she did. Try to pick out styles and check your budget or what current frames you have. COME ON! Get to know your customer. Make a sale. Is he a new hire? What is the excuse here? Thousand Oaks really needs to do better. The racial undertones in service is embarrassing. Get with the times. I've been a LensCrafters' customer for over 10 years, I get my eye exam (lenses and contacts) with them almost every year, this year I had my prescription elsewhere and went to LensCrafters for a quote and also to get my PD measured. When one of the employees saw my prescription, she literally refused to give me a quote and measure my PD, she stated that I would use their measurement to do my glasses elsewhere! What twisted mind would immediately assume this? My last exam with LC was 11 months ago and they still have the contact lenses I ordered/paid and didn't pick up yet! Since she refused to measure my PD I requested my prescription records for the last 10 years, she refused to provide me with my medical file! She dismissed me and left. I asked for a manager, she didn't apologize for her employee's behavior at all! she scribbled the PD on file on a piece of paper, then gave me a quick quote for my new pair of glasses (over $500) and showed me the door. Unbelievable! In conclusion: no customer service at all, rude, disrespectful, unreliable, unprofessional, they will illegally withhold your medical file. LensCrafters doesn't care about their customers, doesn't care about money, I really wonder what do they care about? Why are they still in business? This LensCrafters is the nicest eyeglass store I have been in. I have not used LensCrafters in over 20 years but am glad I did. They have a good representation of budget as well as designer frames. I used my vision insurance and walked out of there about $300 less than at the previous place I had been going to. The staff was very nice. The doctor there was very nice and professional. Glasses for me are not just a fashion statement, they are a necessity in order to work, drive, read, watch TV, etc., and my expectation is for my experience to reflect that. I'd imagine that's the case for the majority of the clientele that walks through the doors here. I've now purchased 4 pairs of glasses/sunglasses from this location over a 2 year period, along with one pair of lenses for frames I purchased elsewhere (they didn't carry the ones I liked) and it's a disappointment. Experience 1 was fine; no complaints that I can recall. It was my first pair of glasses. Experience 2: Excessive wait for help and then watched two clients who arrived after me receive assistance ( they hadn't even asked for help like I had, they were approached immediately). Possibly because I look younger than I am, which could've meant an unfair judgment about my intent to buy and wallet size. The rep didn't apply my insurance, I had to go back and have them adjust. The employee argued with me, until I asked for a manager who finally made the correction but only after I had to explain my thoughts on what the error was because he couldn't figure it out himself. Experience 3: Again failed to apply my insurance, another trip to correct, another argument before the manager corrected. The temple became extremely loose (glasses would fall off my face if I looked down), I went in for them to be tightened. This took 20 minutes, then two days later the lens popped out! Took it in again because I thought they had broken the frames. The rep stated "They're not broken, it's how these kinds of frames are made, the screw just wasn't put back in the right way". Okay - not my problem if your staff isn't qualified to do their job, and btw thanks for the apology. The attitude from this rep was unreal and unwarranted. Immediately following the "fix", the temple was again so loose that I couldn't look down without them falling off. I am hard pressed to believe that the issue here is the $300 pair of Prada frames. Experience 4: I pick frames from the shelf, we get through the entire process including payment, and I am then told "We'll text you when they're ready for pickup, about 7-10 business days". Umm - what? "Yeah, just like last time, they have to be ordered in". No, not just like last time; that's never been the case. I should've been advised of this prior to paying - I would've liked the option to purchase elsewhere. Followed by "I emailed your receipt" without asking if that's how I wanted it. Email receipt never came (I've learned that I need to check the receipt), I called and asked that it be resent, and was told I would have to come in and pick up a printout. I can't believe that they can't resend the email or print to a PDF and send it over. I have no information about the pair I ordered and apparently can't get any information without making myself physically present. Experience 5: better than the prior 3, but the lens was loose again and I had to fix it myself. I would say that about 3/4 of the staff here is pleasant, however half of that 3/4 seem to have a difficult time using the LensCrafters system or understanding how to apply vision benefits. I've worked in retail as both a line-level employee and in management, so I have more patience than the average consumer, but at the end of the day this location/team simply isn't performing well. Unfortunately, I will probably be back because the Luxottica monopoly ensures limited options otherwise. I will update my review accordingly. After the people at LensCrafters in Thousand Oaks insisted that the prescription I had from an optometrist was wrong, I paid for an exam by the OD in their store. I bought two pairs of eyeglasses and extended warranties. Although their frames and lenses were the most expensive I have ever purchased, the quality of the lenses turned out to be the worse. The lenses in the pair that I bought to wear while using my computer had more scratches within 2 weeks than the cheap plastic lenses in my old pair had after more than 5 years. They didn't honor the extended warranty or replace the lenses on the other pair that were the wrong prescription. I would never got to another LensCrafters again! I just sent in the paperwork for a class action lawsuit against Luxottica of America and LenCrafters, but the award is only $50 per pair.
