I WISH I could give this place no stars because that's what it deserves. They scam and cheat you. When I first went in last October or sometime around there. The lady tried to tell me that getting my eyes dilated and scanned will help my prescription better and that it's $40 well I never did it because that's a straight lie plus it would have been covered by my insurance if I did do you which i found out recently but they wanted me to pay the $40?? They would have gotten paid double if I did get them dilated since I didn't know that at the time. Then once I did get my glasses and she was talking about getting insurance for them for $35 a year to cover damages or scratches not once did she mention you had to pay $25 for each lens repair or frame repair. Just found that out. They hide and keep certain things out just to make an extra buck. I understand your rents high especially in the mall but don't scam your customers for an extra buck. Last time I go to this play especially after finding a place that doesn't offer you insurance for a year but GIVES it to you for free. Be ready to get scammed if you go to this place. read more

Shopping for a new provider, been going to Lens crafters for years be prepared with $$$ its expensive. I wear a progressive Len thats why I give it a 3 star, the precision of the Len is super great and they can have your glasses ready to go in sometimes and hour. I must tell you though do not add the anti glare to your lens it is a coat over the lens that will start pilling off (this has happens to 2 glasses and 2 pair of sunglasses) and you will need to buy new lens and your best deal offers will always be with the purchase a new frame and toss out your older one which is still perfectly good. read more

Stay away. Customer service is awful. My wife and I came 30 minutes prior to our appointment. We checked in and waited patiently for our turn. But 15 minutes after our scheduled time, the lady (skinny and tall Caucasian) at the front desk/cashier, came up and told us that she couldn't find our insurance info. In my mind, "lady you had 45 minutes to figure out my paperwork and insurance info but you goofed around". To be fair, the guy person who helped us find and fit our glasses was extremely helpful. Optometrist was very friendly and professional After that they told us to come back after 2 hours to claim the new glasses, came back after 2 hours only to tell me that it needs another 30 minutes to "cure", no biggie, so I waited, came back only to find out that the glasses had a irremovable smear due to some problem with the coating. The same lady that helped me check in, was not apologetic at all and told me to come back the next day. The least that she could have done is apologize. Never going back to this store. read more

So I had to leave my eye doctor because of insurance change at work. So off I go to LensCrafters. They did not dilate my eyes as I am diabetic. I told them I had been in a s auto accident when I was a baby and was blinded by it. My sight returned about a year later. The doctor said "so you can see now". Nothing ever about that again. He then looked at my glasses and saw that there were some prisms in it , he said they were unnecessary. So I got my glasses two weeks later. Not in a hour like they advertised. Well I couldn't see a thing with them I told them and they didn't do anything. I went back a week later and asked is there something we could do . I'll pay for it. Nothing. Move ahead 6 months and now Medicare available I went back to my old Dr. He looked at the glasses and said " how can you see out of them. " taa daa I said I cannot. He did the exam , I needed the prism in them so I can keep lines straight when reading, so I can see at night when driving. Amazing all my problems were caused by Lens Crafters. Do yourself a favor and go to a real Optometrist. Lens Crappers never again read more

I was so pleasantly surprised by my LensCrafters experience. I came in at 11:00 am for an 11:20 eye exam and was immediately helped. My exam by Liz and Dr. Henry was very professional and thorough. It ended with three prescriptions to fill and I was in and out in less that two hours, which included the time for the new client paperwork, exam, and the time it took me to pick out and decide on three frames. Then, as I was expecting to go on with my day and pick up glasses next week, Liz (who was super nice) said all three pairs of glasses could be ready later today!?! I've never seen that happen! On a Sunday!?! Having previously lived in a bigger city, where there is always a wait for every little thing, I have to say I was very impressed with the service and speed at the Ventura LensCrafters. The store was definitely busy as I was leaving, so I would recommend being there at opening time. read more

She has great people skills plus she knows her products and was very helpful with my frame and lens selection. The original glasses frames I purchased in April, 2014 at the Pacific View Mall, Ventura, CA location, lost a screw that Lensecrafters was unable to replace. I was referred to and offered a selection of replacement frames through Luxottica in McDonough, GA. on August 2, 2017. I ordered new frames, paid an additional $70 for the price differential since they no longer made the original frames, and finally received the replacement frames on or about September 19, 2017. Pursuant to the instructions in the Luxottica communique, I brought the new frames back to Lensecrafters. The manager stated that my current lenses would not fit the new frames and that I'd have to come back the next day after she contacted Luxottica regarding replacement lenses. I returned the next morning and she called Luxottica in my presence. Apparently she was informed, as I had been told by Luxottica and informed her, that I was to be provided new lenses at no cost. The manager proceeded to argue with Luxottica regarding the expense of the new lenses. From this point forward it was clear that I was an unwanted customer. The manager ordered the new lenses, told me it would take 2 weeks for them to be available, and that she would call me when they had arrived. I received the call that they were ready on September 29, 2017 and arrived at the store within an hour. The manager handed me the glasses and said " Here you are". I asked if they could be cleaned, and she proceeded to get cleanex and cleaned the lenses. I told her that I did not think they fit correctly and could she please adjust them. Reluctantly she took them, bent the right arm down and handed them back to me. She made it extremely clear that she wanted nothing at all to do with this transaction and that she wanted me to leave. I have never been treated so poorly by a person in a position of management. The new frames still do not fit correctly. I will never return to this store. Furthermore, I was not provided a receipt or a warranty for my new glasses. read more

I had to update my last review, as LenCrafters did address some of my concerns. Although my contacts ended up taking two months to arrive (reportedly due to a manufacturer's back order), LensCrafters provided me with trial samples until my order arrived & refunded some of my money for the order. I appreciated that they acknowledged the inconvenience and made sure I was supplied with contacts (daily contacts) until my order arrived. An improvement in customer service. read more

The Retail manager is not that friendly, she doesn't seem to care much and neither do some other associates at the Ventura mall location they just let you wonder around without asking if you need help for awhile. (They were not busy and even the retail manager was walking around passing by me without asking if I needed help) Customer Service here is bad. One word to describe Lens Crafters is "Shady". They call and tell you it's time for an eye exam, I have eye insurance so I say sure and go in, at the end of the exam they want over $70 for the exam which they failed to mention is outside of my insurance coverage. Not that this is bad enough, but they tried this several more times even though I found a much more honest optical company to do business with. They seem to be more focused on bleeding you as much as they can as compared to providing you with what you actually need. read more

Visited last month, I wanted prescription sunglasses. And so i decided to come to lenscrafters to check them out. I was greeted by a girl with glasses i cant remember her name (not the manager) in her 20s. She had great customer service and made me feel really comfortable and not rushed while i was browsing. I picked ones out and they were made to my fitting. An hour later i went back to pick them up. Love love everything. Price wise was actually what i expected coming from lenscrafters, but i dont mind paying a little extra when it comes to great service. From now on this is my place to come for my vision needs. I came back to lens crafters and wired again till finally I got as asked if I could be helped. I got out maybe three words when an older man came over that apparently work ther and interposed me speaking to the young lady like I want even there! I went here for eyeglasses because my optometrist wouldn't take my new insurance. I had a prescription and found my preferred frame on their website, then went in for purchase. It took a few days due to my insurance (superior), but once ordered they were ready in less than an hour. Usually I have to self adjust, but Rigo got the fit spot on with two tries. About a month in a half ago my girlfriend and I went in for our eye exams. Everything went great. I got some frames I bought so I could have lenses put in them and I also got some prescription ray ban sunglasses. Everything was fine, The service at the time was fantastic. About a week later I get a call that my lenses are ready for pick up, I was able to get my sunglasses the same day as my eye exam. So they put the lenses in my frames and I put my glasses on and I instantly notice that something is not right at all. I let them know that after I put them on that my vision inn my left eye is completely blurred and they tell to give my eyes a few days to adjust. Okay a few days go by and I just kept getting these massive headaches and my eyes were straining so terribly that I had to go in again. Only for them to bend my frames slightly to help ease the straining and tell that it takes at least three weeks for your eyes to adjust to a new prescription. That did absolutely nothing!! I go back again, this being the fourth time going in, only to find out as I suspected my prescription was completely incorrect. So I spoke with Kendra and she corrected everything and reordered lenses for both my glasses and rx sunglasses. Well the sunglasses got done the same day and they are fine. Everything looks good. My lenses for my glasses are a special order so they take some time to come in. Two weeks go by and I don't hear anything so I go in only to find out that my lenses were NEVER ordered!!!!! At this point it has been over a month since I initially came in, so a sales rep reordered my lenses for the THIRD time. I go in a few days later to get my lenses put in and when I get home I notice a bubbling happening in the left lens. So once again I go back into this store for at least the 10th time, only to have my lenses reordered for a FOURTH time. It took them four times to finally get this right. So I finally go back to get my corrected lenses placed in my frames and I ask if they could adjust the frames a bit as they were really tight. Well the gentleman who helped me acted like I was burdening him by asking that he adjust them and just tried to rush me out as fast as possible. He ended up ruining the arms on my new frames so much that I had to replace them with the old arms from my previous frames. Honestly, I have never had such poor service. No one took accountability for anything and they were quick to brush everything off instead of really doing their research to come up with a solution to the problem presented to them. Safe to say they will never get my business again. I will say the optometrist who saw me was very pleasant to be around. But they seriously need to re-train their sales staff because they lack any type of customer service skills. I spent over $500 there only to have them completely screw everything up because they wanted a quick sale. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT OVER A MONTH FOR YOUR PRESCRIPTION TO BE CORRECT. read more

Went to Ventura location to pick up my glasses, first they took me to wait over in the corner to pick up your glasses . To find it was the line to get an eye exam not to pick up my glasses. We I finely got served I ask the lady can I get and extra case for my second pair glasses and have me a big case I told her can I get a smaller case she said no the policy change . I said can I talk to the manage and I told her the same thing , she told me no she can't do that all rude . I told her I paid over$400./ 2 pairs and you won't give me a glass case that fits my glasses. She got up went in the back got a glass case. She told me she is putting her job on the line by giving me a case. The whole time being unprofessional about the whole issue then I said I going to call corporate and she said u be talking to me so talk to you soon. So rude! The worst service, the most run around, and the least knowledgable employees. We arrived early for the appointment and I had the paperwork and insurance information all filled out. We sat there and they let the person whose appointment was after us go ahead of us for the exam. No worries we chose the frames and did the measurements while we waited. The doctor finally saw us after 40 minutes and then only took 5 minutes with the exam. The thing that really angered me was that the lady said ok come back in an hour and the glasses will be ready. We walk around and come back and the manager tells us oh you didn't pay so they haven't started them come back in an hour and I just lost it. We were being given the run around the whole time and his was the last straw. I informed her that the lady told us to come back and never said anything about paying first. All the manager said was oh just come back in an hour. I know that glasses can be made in about 15 minutes and I told her that and she said well you didn't pay until now and didn't even care that her staff didn't tell us the correct information. I will never go back to this location and I will drive to the valley where the staff is professional and knowledgable. Don't go here is you want a good experience. read more

GREAT Manager! Very professional and customer orientated. I believe her name in Kendra. I had an eye exam at their store, ordered new frames and new prescription glasses. At the time I was asked twice if I wanted to purchase their eyeglass insurance (once by the person writing up the order and once by the manager). I declined both. Two weeks after getting the new glasses; which were perfect, I had a mishap where a piece of wood hit one on the lenses, scratched it and bent the frame. I went back the LensCrafters expecting to pay for a new lens and hopefully being able to straighten the metal frame. The person helping me reminded me I did not have insurance, and I acknowledged same. The manager and her spoke quietly away from me and she came back and told me the manager said to sell me the insurance, and then only charge me the nominal fee that is required if you have the insurance. They ordered a complete pain of new glasses and frame saving me hundreds of dollars! read more

The identified the problem and replaced my lens for free, even though I bought them somewhere else. Chauntee was a wonderful manager and took complete care of me . Let me start off by saying that this place was extremely friendly and welcoming. I came in with a pair of glasses that I accidentally broke. I had a '1 year One Time Accident' warranty that would allow me to bring in my broken pair of glasses to replace them for a new pair at 50% off. Normally when you go into a retail store with a broken item and asking about the warranty of the product you are mostly going to be dealing with a lot of red tape. However, here there was little red tape and the rest of the time I was there was spent being helped. When they did not have the pair of glasses that I owned they allowed me to pick another pair of glasses and they would still honor the 50%. When I picked the pair I liked they made sure that the pair fit perfectly. And I mean they made sure! To the millimeter! They used some technology (I am not computer savy whatsoever) to make sure the glasses fit and looked good on me. I really appreciated that they took the time to make sure I was helped even though I was only buying a pair at 50% off after I broke my first pair. Normally customers who go into a retail store to replace an item are not treated with the same care as a full paying customer. However, that was not the case here. I was treated really well and I plan on coming here for all my lens and glasses needs. read more

I purchased some eyeglasses at Macy's and the nose plastic part was lost. It had become dislodged some way. I took it back to Macys and they would only say "we can replace the glasses but not fix them and it will cost you half price of the glasses. That would have come out to over a 100 dollars. I took it to Lenscrafters and even though I didn't purchase my glasses from them. They fixed them for free. Fantastic! Great service and finished the job in 20 mins. great place. read more

Horrible store service (as of recently) and expensive (but nice frames). My family and I have been coming here for years as my mothers health insurance covered most expenses. The house optometrists were great (minus the young Indian doctor who came off as stuck up, giving her the benefit of the doubt though) but the store manager is not so wonderful. The fact that we were loyal customers of many years did not matter literally one day after my mothers work insurance changed policies. We came in for our annual checkup mid December and came to claim our insurance on January 2nd. We did not realize that our policy had changed and would not cover our LensCrafters visits any longer. Upon requesting our prescription and asking if there was anything they could do, the store manager rudely and quickly stated there was absolutely nothing she could have done without checking the computer system. After 20 minutes of asking, she called the insurance company to confirm her extent of power on the matter. The first time, she had not explained the situation properly to the insurance rep instigating the rep to say that there was nothing that could be done for us. I demanded that she call them back and explain better, upon doing so the insurance rep said we could file a claim and see if an extension could get approved. This process took well over an hour and wouldn't have been so long if the store manager was sincere and tried to help out loyal customers given a tough situation they were involuntary placed in. Now keep in mind I did not accuse her of anything or speak to her in a derogatory manner. After concluding her phone call with my insurance rep, I literally said "I am very disappointed to how you handled our situation" and she burst into tears. Not very professional and completely inappropriate given that it was she who was being rude and unhelpful. We will not be returning. I only gave a 2/5 because the LensCrafters chain offers nice frames (not cheap though). I would suggest going to Costco and buying frames there. They have great prices and much better customer service. read more

Have been going to this location since 2006 and it has increasingly become worse and worse. The service is awful and if I didn't have a warranty until May would have never of gone back. Shockingly I did purchase new lenses for an old pair of frames today, but when offered the warranty refused and told the very nice young lady Linda no as I would not be a returning after May. It took almost 2 hours just to have lenses ordered, then another 2 to make them. I had 3 pairs. Virginia, assuming is the manager, is a huge part of the problem. She lacks focus and delegation skills. 1 pair was for the 3rd time as the lenses were measured incorrectly the 2 times prior, not surprising as one person measures, it then you wait for very distracted second opinion from someone like Virginia. The warranty is a huge money saver, but sadly it's just not worth the time, aggravation and trouble. read more

At the time I had to buy a new pair of progressive glasses which I was not sure would work, as I have problems with my near sight and far sight . After spending over $400 for generic frames and this was discount price. I have had these glasses less than 6 months and my lenses gave a coating that looks like they are dirty. Took them back they said can't do anything coz I didn't purchase warranty. This is the last time I use these guys going to go back to Costco. NEVER AGAIN will I set foot in that store. I had eye surgery and needed a temporary lens installed in my prescription sunglasses. In the past, I have bought all my glasses from them. I wanted them to remove the prescription lens and put in a non prescription lens until my vision stabilized. Then I would come in with a new prescription and have them make me new glasses. THEY WOULD NOT DO IT. They said my glasses frame was too battered to do the work. I tried to explain it was only temporary and it did not have to be perfect. No go, they would not do it. I told them I needed help with this, no go, they would not do it. I went to another store and they made the change with no hassle at all. I could not believe the attitude Lenscrafters had toward me. This twice before going to this store. I wish I hadn't. They do not tell the truth, stand by their word, and make promises they have no intention of honoring. I made an appointment a week in advance with a specific optometrist who was reconmmended by a friend. When I arrived for my appointment I was told to take a seat and wait. After waiting about 15 minutes, a salesperson walked up to me and said he was ready for me to see an optomotrist other than the one had the appointment to see. When I questioned this I was told the person I had an appointment with was off that day and I was welcome to come back. When I asked why didn't they tell me she was not here when I walked in, the salesperson just shrugged. Since I was there I did see an optometrist. Who was actually very good as was the sales person who helped me. I ordered glasses and was promised delivery in one week. When the week was up, I called the store only to be told that glasses take ten days. I finally picked up my glasses twoweeks after the examination. When I picked up my glasses, the saleserson who gave them to me didn't even adjust them so I had to go back twice, because they kept falling off my face.... I asked to speak with a manager when I picked up my glasses only to be told by the clerk helping me that there are several managers herself included. read more

I booked an appointment at the Ventura store because they are open late nights and I couldn't get an early appointment with my regular eye doctor thinking it would be more convenient, big mistake. The staff is very nice however there selection of glasses are very expensive and they try to upsell for services that are normally covered thru most insurance. I had to pay a co-pay for an eye exam when I've never payed a copay for previous exam that was my first issue second to get eyes dilated and some kinda special pictures was also an outrageous charge which I've done before with previous eyes drs at no charge because it's covered under most eye insurance. The sunglasses that I was originally going to get at LensCrafters that would of cost me 323.00 dollars with insurance I purchased thru my regular eye doctor for 112.00 . My opinion is stay away from this place they will nickel and dime you..... read more

Went to LensCrafters located in Pacific View Mall because they accepted my insurance and their familiarity of the Brand. What I didn't realize was that the showroom environment would be one akin to a cell phone or car dealership. Same principle, commissioned sales people can become jaded after they learn the tricks = buyer beware of being hustled! I came in with the knowledge of what my insurance policy would cover and figured I'd leave with a pair of glasses for around $100 or less out of pocket. My lovely Sales Associated tried to get me to sign off on $300+ out of pocket right from the get go ... Finally when we came to an understanding that I didn't require all of the bells and whistles, I signed a receipt for $109... Worse thing? I reviewed my receipt that was neatly tucked into a nice envelope and discovered that I had been overcharged $20 on the frames! I called and after speaking with the 3rd person, it was verified that in fact I had been overcharged and that my credit card would be credited the $20.. I will not return. read more
