Great sandwiches on your way to Central Park picnic - everything we had was delicious

april 4, 2024. Starving tourists, asked a local where to get an inexpensive bite to eat and was pointed to Lenwich. I regret not having found this wonderful place, sooner. They serve Lavazza coffee (the best) and custom make it without all the fuss. We had the chicken soup, definitely home made, you can taste the love. Had a caesar chicken wrap (and big enuf for 2 to share), that was beyond delicious . The freshness of ingredients on display and the smell of ingredients lingering in the air that only made you hungrier. Watched as each customers ordered custom made salads, chop or no chop. They used a completely clean new bowl with each order, no crossing of ingredients from one order to another. They also have a beautiful display of pasteries and baked goods. Had the pistachio cream filled brioch, can I say WOW. Can't wait until my next visit to NYC and enjoy this gem read more

I have never been to any of the Lenwich shops. I'm not a big fan of sandwiches in general. One of my buddies convinced me they have some of the best fries and fries are my weakness, so I decided to try. I am quite impressed from their menu selection. They have breakfast (in the morning only), and salads and sandwiches all day. They have, meat, fish and vegetarian options. I had the vegetarian option which consisted of Avocado, Green Leaf Lettuce, Tomato, Carrot, Cucumber, Alfalfa Sprouts, shredded Red Cabbage, Sweet Peppers, and Honey Mustard. You have option of hero or the traditional sliced bread. I went with the hero, this is a really healthy sandwich with a variety of vegetables, a bit pricey at under $11, not including tax. They really stuff the sandwich and very tasty with this mix of vegetables. I also had the fries, they were very crisp and ok. They put the fries in a bag with slits so the fries won't get soggy. The ordering process is you order, they give you a buzzer and receipt to pay upfront. You pay upfront, they give you a bag and then you wait for the buzzer so you can get your order and put it in the bag yourself. I think this bag thing is a nuisance. I just had a sandwich there that was not bad I wen to sit at a table that was dirty and the only other table that was open was next to the garbage the cleaning guy came stated separating the garbage and squeezing it down in the bag pulls out the liner that's like a bin inside bin this is like a foot away from where I am eating ruined my experience and I felt dirty I respected I spoke to the manager and her explanation was sit somewhere else when I sat down except for the dirty table they were all looking full I will not eat here again read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food we received from Lenwich. I had always heard of, and passed by, this place, and I didn't really know what to expect as I walked in. My family and I visited during a weekday lunch rush. Things were fast paced. We ordered a cheesesteak sandwich, a chicken Caesar wrap, and a chicken salad to go. It didn't take long for them to prepare each one, and we were off to go enjoy at home. The portions are really good, and again, I was suspended at the taste. When I'm in need of a quick lunch ideas, I imagine I will head back to try more items on their menu. read more

Decided to give this lenwich location another try. This time they got the order right. I had to reiterate the order twice to make sure. I waited for my sandwiches and when I pick up order, the cashier person had a attitude because I simply asked for a brown bag to my sandwiches in. Seriously, a customer service rep is going to get upset because I asked for a brown bag? And top of that the second cashier person is going to asked why I wanted one?!?!?!?! I really can't believe this. Manager needs to be on top of their employees on how to treat customers especially when they spent about 50 dollar in the establishment. I can't recall the reason why the first and only time I've been to LENWICH (aka LENNY's) I didn't add it to my go-to places when "In need of a sandwich". After a couple of years, given the fact that the temperature outside is in the vicinity of the low 20s and my last meal was 3 hours ago (pardon my caloric needs), I walked by their UWS location and decided to give it another try. I have to say, their menu has improved quantity-wise, but the bottom line is that it's just a re-make of their "signature" creations from a while ago. That being said, it's very likely that if I'm offered a cheesesteak with avocado, covered in sriracha and packed in a ciabatta hero I will say: "let's date!". But as most one-time stands, there wasn't anything memorable or that would drag me to try a different item in their menu. For some reason, there's nothing new besides the excessive salt and the incredibly long time it takes to make a sandwich - quick note to self: most places with separated order and pay points are doomed for slowness and mistaken orders, AVOID. Kudos for the friendly staff and the environment inside the venue, next time I'll go for a sandwich worth 12 bucks. read more

A lot of us from my work used to order from here all the time, but after an incident that ended. I ordered a salad with a few toss-ins, one of them being an egg and it literally looked as though they cracked a raw egg into the salad. The salad was all bunched and stuck onto the bottom of the container and was slimy all over. So I called to get it replaced. After some arguing, because they insisted that I was wrong, they agreed to send over the correct salad; and take back the one they gave. After an hour or so I finally get the replacement salad and it doesn't have ANYTHING I wanted in it. It was if they just pawned off another salad that was returned to them, and made me assume that they will probably try and pawn off the one they gave me as well. Called back again, and had it out with the manager one more. In the end I ordered food somewhere else and my money with the salad went in the trash. Never ordering from here again. read more

I was looking for a quick breakfast near my hotel on the Upper West Side and after failed attempts at finding a hot breakfast at a couple of the cafes in the area, I found myself at Lenny's mostly for lack of stamina to keep going. Lenny's is basically a deli serving up breakfast sandwiches in the morning, then switching to sandwiches and salads for lunch. I ordered one of the breakfast sandwiches--one egg and bacon--on an everything bagel. The bacon was pretty dry and just your average bacon you can pick up at the supermarket; the egg was overcooked and a little dry; the bagel was a bit chewy, especially considering I asked for it "toasted". I wasn't exactly wowed by Lenny's--it felt like a step up from a McDonald's EggMcMuffin. But I was looking for a quick breakfast and Lenny's was convenient. read more

Tried the Veggie sandwich. To its credit, it has a variety of fresh ingredients -- tomato, sprouts, avocado, peppers -- but it was dry and flavorless, and the sourdough bread tasted bland and sad. It felt expensive for what it was. The hints of Dijon mustard helped; I think an aioli or some other sauce offering would have really brought the sandwich together. read more

Went here for a quick healthy bite to eat and was impressed with the low calorie options! I got the Chicken Mojo bowl and it was delicious! The staff was super nice and all wore their masks. Definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area!! read more

Been buying from this Lenwich for 15 years. Post-COVID they are the worst sandwich company I've ever encountered. Guys I've ordered 4 times from this place in the last month and guess what? 3/4 times they not only forget to PUT SAUCE IN MY SANDWICH but they also forget to read the ticket of my order for the special instructions. The ticket thing is slightly understandable because if you forget to read the ticket (you're dumb) but it's also human error but 3 TIMES?!?! It's actually priced pretty decently for prime location New York City. Nice vibe for the casual quick dining. I had a Honey BBQ Chicken Sandwich, it was great. Only thing I wish they did differently is how they sell fries. They give you this massive amount of fries for $4, like who in there right mind is going to eat all those fries haha. A decent sandwich place with many locations all over town serves sandwiches, salads and not much else. A work lunch place for sure, a 8-9" hero will run you pretty close to 8 bucks. They have many, many options--if you can't find something here, you're probably not trying hard enough. I was a little disheartened to discover that croissants were no longer available -- this was a favorite of mine back in the day. Never mind, for a 'reliable' sandwich product all over town, Lenny's is a good choice. But it's a takeout sort of spot. I will say, they have a sort of insane way of ordering that seems to be as much their fault as the crowd's... As far as I can figure you're supposed to order at the register and hang out until your order is called, pay, and then be on your merry way. Two trips to the counter. Order. Pay and pick up. Somehow, the locals cannot understand this, despite several large signs. It then becomes order, loiter, pay, loiter, pester, loiter, pick up food. If you follow the prescribed method there's simply a massive to cut through who are all milling about believing sandwiches are created instantaneously at the push of a button on a touchscreen. Lenwich is Stroller accessible they have a restroom (just one though) and great sandwiches super friendly staff and a lot of space (though if you come here after school, oh boy it can be loud and crowded but you still might find a spot!) Getting my usual order of a toasted egg & American cheese on an English muffin is going to be difficult after eating this delicious serving of it at Lenwich. As seen from the photos below, it was toasted as perfect as it can get and was as yummy as it looks. I ordered an iced latte with it, which was also very good. My friend got an egg white and sausage on a bagel, and it was "a lot of food." Also, her apple juice that came in the shape of an apple was "excellent." My other friend ordered a bagel with cream cheese, and "it was great!" The look of the restaurant was nice and clean, and the service was good too. There were even chairs by the counter to sit while you wait for your food. All in all, this was a great idea. Next time I'm seeking some classic New York brunch, I know (Len)wich place I'll go to. read more

Part of the Lenny's chain of sandwich shops. You'll find hot and cold sandwich combos on your choice of bread. Hero, rye, wheat, marble rye, etc. Fast service and the sandwiches are churned out with good quality. Can't go wrong with any of the cold and hot sandwiches but i particularly like the hot ones. I'm a fan of the turkey, corn beef, cole slaw, and russian dressing on a hero. Corn beef is brined and salted well and super tender. Works well with the refreshing cole slaw and russian dressing. They have a selection of baked goods as well and a chopped salad area. read more

For being a chain, Lenny's has done a remarkable job of maintaining its identify and still offering high quality deli options. The first thing you notice when walking into Lenny's is the sheer size of their menu. I'm convinced they can reasonably offer you any type of permutation of a sandwich or salad. They even have every bread option to fit your appetite or mood and they're all good. My personal favorite is the H1, which is basically thanksgiving dinner stuffed into a sandwich. Somehow they manage to use gravy to top off all that turkey, stuffing, and cranberry without once making the entire sandwich soggy. I know I should try other things here, and I have, but I always come back to this sandwich. One day I'll might even try out the salad bar which looks fresh, and delicious judging by the various ones I see people making. If you happen to walk by this location or any others across the city, don't be afraid of the unknown. The food you'll get here will rival almost any of your favorite small shops. read more

My heart aches for Lennys. I lived a few blocks from the Columbus Ave location for a few years. I couldn't even begin to count the number of times I ordered breakfast from there. They knew my order when I called. There's something about their two eggs over medium and side of bacon that compares to nothing else. And their fresh sqeezed oj...my god, they must put drugs in it. Also I am an expert on grilled cheeses. Lennys has one of the top 3 in the world. Pepperjack and tomato on sourdough=heaven. We were heading for a day in central park combined with a visit to the MET and popped into Lenny's to get drinks, simple enough. We bought a few bottled drinks, a sandwich, small iced tea and a large iced tea which we asked to be split into 2 small cups so 2 people could share it. Simple enough, 1 small iced tea for one person. And one large iced tea split into two cups so 2 people shared it. The cashier was pleasant and said its absolutely okay to split the large iced tea as long as we paid $.50 for another cup. Sounds good. Well not according to the lady making the drinks. She was extremely rude and gave us one small one instead of the large iced tea split between 2 cups! We brought it up to her and she proclaimed that it's absolutely fine and to be happy since she only charged us for a small iced tea..... but I wanted a large?! We leave and I decide that we definitely overpaid, I looked at the receipt and we had been double charged for a vitamin water we hadn't bought. I came back in and the worker was even ruder. i made order on grub hub. the lady from this location called to confirm special instructions and they totally screwed the entire order up. i called and spoke to freddy who was extremely rude and called me a liar.... he degraded me and told me after i started eating the sandwich to return to store and they could replace it. pathetic. imagine taking food back from someones home and that had started eating it... how horrible and unsanitary customer service. manager would not even come on the line. do not eat there again if you want clean and quality good and customer service. read more
