Ina busy truck stop, the only way this can happen in my opinion is that the employees have not checked the bathrooms for cleanliness and inventory The bathroom floors were littered with TP and paper towels. Diesel is available at the regular gasoline pumps, but if you need DEF you'll have to go to the outer bank of diesel-only pumps with the big rigs. The pump screens are in terrible shape and need replaced to eliminate the need to guess at the prompts. The inside of the establishment isn't horrible. You'll find a Subway sandwich shop and Dunkin Donuts, along with the normal assortment of C-store offerings and trucker needs. The restrooms were only moderately dirty. Bottom line is, you can find better places to fuel and/or grab a snack pretty much anywhere along the I-10 corridor. To add insult to injury, I noticed that diesel was .20-.30/gallon cheaper at the next several stations I passed. It's "travel centers" like this that make Buc-Ee's such a welcome sight!

I do not know if it is two competing travel plazas competing with each other or what, but the gas at this particular exit is way better priced than other exits right by it. There is an Arby's attached to the business and a Waffle House next door if you want to tie in a meal with your gas stop. The inside also has the usual convenience store items. All in all, a good place to stop for gas.

They have been operating this Truck/Travel Stop for decades remodeling as necessary to keep up with the times. They offer a sit down full menu restaurant, which is not 24/7,, so get there before closing. Like many others there are diesel lanes and standard motorist lanes as well. I have been stopping here each time when passing and the customer service is exceptional. The parking lot is in pretty good shape and is well lit also. I always enjoy my visits here no matter how short and am glad to support local small business owners over the big name brands. There are Travel Centers out to bilk the commercial driver, but this is not one of them. So get off the long boring stretch of interstate and enjoy a ride through mom and pop country. Do not just blow by. Stop off and have a decent meal and take something along for the road. Your wallet and stomach will appreciate you for it.

Since I arrived late, or very early in the morning, the place was lit up. I would not walk away from the travel center at this time of day cause only darkness is near. They have some fried foods here that you should get during regular business or risk warmed over old food. The chicken however, was not bad at all. I went to the restroom which seemed fairly clean and did not stink. They only had one hand dryer but no paper towels. The customer service associates did not look as if they wanted to be there. They were slow and cold. No personable skills, which goes against the traditional Southern hospitality. Overall however, this is an alright place for a ten hour break, to fuel and get out for a minute, or to grab a quick snack for the road.

Inside I found all sorts of local items, like a variety of flavored nuts, hot sauces, and jams. I was even able to find a hot sauce that my local area stopped carrying a couple of years ago, and I really missed it. That and a bag of nuts were to be had, and I have enjoyed both. Reading through the other posts about this place, I have to say that Melissa was just as helpful as everyone else has said. Definitely worth the stop! Thank you for being there!

Interstate 10 can get a bit monotonous and sometimes you just have to get off the highway to shake the boredom that can truly fatigue you. This rest area offers a great stop to just that. So if you find yourself on Interstate 10 and find fatigue setting in or maybe nature calls or you just want to grab a quick drink or snack, check this rest area out. I pull off expecting the parking area to be close by like all of the others. No, it's a long winding road that makes you feel like you are going in circles and getting lost. Then you arrive at the lower level where the big rigs park. I should have read Dave O's review before I parked down there. The dogs were desperate for a walk so we jumped out of the car. Thankfully I always lock my car. Thankfully it was day light too. Once up the hill, there are plenty of restrooms and picnic tables under pavilions. The grounds are well cared for and I enjoyed talking pictures of the trees. When I was leaving, a man in a black T-shirt and jeans came up on me out of no where. He asked for gas money to get to Houston, TX. He told me that he lost his apartment and was sleeping in his car with his dog. He was headed to his aunts but needed gas. I told him that I was traveling cashless and the only thing I could offer was for him to follow me to a gas station. He didn't take me up on the offer. After that I quickly put the window back up and took off. I stopped at the upper level to throw trash out and my intuition kept saying get out of there. I stopped what I was doing and took off.

This is not a rest area for those in a big hurry. It's a two way rest stop that serves both…read moreeastbound and westbound traffic. You could use it to turn around and go back the way you came if you wanted to. Because of this, it's a bit of a drive to get to it after you exit the interstate but others exaggerate how far. This rest area is meant to be enjoyed. Go past the facilities around the loop to the highest point, park and walk up past the picnic shelter for a view down to the Apalachicola River and off into the distance. There was more to see when it was first built and the trees hadn't grown up to block the view. There was a new opportunity after Hurricane Michael came through but that is now growing back to hide the scars and some of the view. After the leaves fall is probably the best time to get the view these days. The facilities are kept clean and there is lots of parking. If you want a good walk then park down with the large truck parking area and walk up. Otherwise, go past that parking area and loop around to parking closer to the facilities. There are a bunch of sheltered picnic tables on around the loop. When you leave it is clearly marked which way to go to continue east or west. It will be a bit of a drive back to the interstate but you will be refreshed and ready to drive some more.
