Very nice place to eat. Amazing steak. It has a few things you should know. No one under 21 allowed inside because it is half bar half restaurant. Everything was just OK except for the steak that was amazing. Looks like a great place to have a few drinks and eat top notch steaks. We were traveling through and heard Leon's had the best steak around so we thought we would give it a try! I have to say the customer service was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The waitress was awesome and the owner showed us around the establishment. I have never felt note at home! The food was wonderfu! I ordered the New York Strip steak and the Jumbo shrimp and Oohhhh Mann! Steak was great and the shrimp definitely were jumbo and juicy! The wife order a hamburger and the chicken fried steak to take home and she enjoyed both! Talk about delicious food!!!! Definitely the best ribeye steak in town and one of the best you will find anywhere. Their grilled shrimp is also right up there amongst the best in my opinion. I love their grilled tomatoes, too. The only reason I don't give them the 5th star is the smoking in the front dining area. As a result, we end up sitting in the back room where the stage is and if you are there for an early dinner, you may be the only ones back there. So, that can be a strange atmosphere, but the positive is that you get incredible service because they always have a server dedicated to the back room. If you go on a weekend when they have a good band, definitely a great way to enjoy your meal and listen to live music. read more

I was starting to think that a decent steak was not to be had in Longview. This place serves up a satisfying ribeye for $18, including two sides. I opted for fried okra, and twice baked potato. The twice baked was more like baked potatoes mashed up with the twice baked stuff, and then put in a dish like potatoes au gratin and cooked again. Was expecting to see a restuffed baked potato. Oh well, was still pretty good. Fried okra was solid, but not outstanding. Cooked my steak to right doneness, and $7 pitchers of Shiner Bock to wash it down with. It is indeed very casual, but I will take that over snobby any day of the week. read more

As the yelpers say the food is great! It is a 21 and over bar, so no kids. Depending on your mood that could be a plus. There was a live band playing in a sectioned of room so you had the options to stay in the front of the bar, which had a good selection of high and regular height tables as well as the bar or you could go into the closed off back bar with the live music. The only down side I see to this place is if you hate people smoking while you eat then you won't like it here. It is a bar and very table has an ashtray. I don't mind the smell of almost all tabacco, but a big BOO for the guy with the cigar!!!!! I could taste it over my food and he was four tables away! read more

When all five of the locals you ask about where to all say go to Leon's you have to go try it. I have to say they were right. The steak was very good. Good meat, cooked the way I asked and served by a great staff. Well worth the stop if you are in the area. The only complaint I have and when they name includes the word Saloon, you know you are going to a bar, which means cigarette smoke. I wish I could eat there without the cigarette smoke, but it was not busy and the smoke was bearable on night early in the week. Not sure what it would be like Thurs-Sat. read more

As others Yelpers have said, I too thought this was a bikers bar. Lived in the area some 20 plus years and have never visited until today. We ordered wings as an appetizer, which were great, and I had the chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak was delicious, it wasn't greasy and the batter was light as oppose to some places where it's 90% batter and 10% meat. When I walked in I wasn't expecting a real Saloon. We continued towards the back and found some nice tables to enjoy our dinner. It was nice to have the sounds of the country music floating back to our table. We both ordered the Ribeye Steak and it was really a good steak, cooked just right and comes with your choice of sides. If we hadn't been so full we would have tried the cobblers. I'm sure they would have been good too. We will definitely stop here again on our travels from DFW. read more

My wife and I ate there last night. It was a nice, pleasant dining experience. The portions are very generous. My steak was nice but a little salty for my taste. My husband and I ballroom dance and never thought we would be at Leon's. We had been once before a couple years ago and the smoke was really a problem for my breathing. Our dance club talked to the owner and they now offer Dinner & Dancing on Thursday nights in the back room and IT'S SMOKE FREE!!! The band, Bobby Waldron and the Note Benders plays music we can dance to. They even have asked us for some suggestions and have learned more music to accommodate us. Dance floor isn't very big, but it's a good place to go and just relax and have good food with good friends and good music. read more

I had steak twice this week and didnt want it again so I ordered the grilled "pork chop", grilled tomatoes and baked sweet potato. If you're a tomatoe fan, order them, they're AWESOME! and the sweet potato was really good. The "pork chop" had no bone, the grain ran across the cut of meat and then to make it even worse they SCORED it on both sides about 1/4" deep! This was the driest, toughest peice of meat I have ever been served...ANYWHERE! I could not eat it. I was a meat trimmer for a while, I know what a pork chop look like...this was no pork chop. And the waitress swore up & down it was. I'm convinced it was a cut from a pork roast. So, I had a few bites of my friends steak. It was really good. read more

Leon's was recommended to my husband and myself by one of the locals where we're staying. Am I ever glad she did. What a great dinner. Husband had Leon's ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. When we eat steaks in a restaurant, we always ask for them to be cooked Pittsburgh style. Some restaurants can do it, some can't. Leon's chef can. My hubby was kind enough to offer me a bite of his. Talk about being perfectly cooked an o tender! I had the chicken sliders, which were equally impressive (I used the jalapeño ranch from our poppers for dipping and it was fantastic). The ambience is very down home in a good way, it ain't fancy, doesn't need to be, but it sure is good. The waitstaff (Kristen and Allison) were super nice and kept checking to make sure we were doing ok without hovering. Being former smokers, we sat in the smoking section (our choice) and was not bothered by any smoke. My only complaint-at myself and my husband-is that we had a wonderful to-go box full of our meal we couldn't finish and forgot to take it with us. Left it sitting on our table. So bummed about that. We had plans for that food! Wish we could have stayed for the entertainment, but we were leaving early the next morning. Next trip (and we won't forget our leftover box, either). read more

WOW! - I was truly surprised at how good the food is! I come here to Longview for business and have been here 3 times now. The grilled pork chop sandwich and grilled green beans are outstanding! I would give this place 5 star but the cigarette smoke is a little overwhelming in the place. Yes, I know it's a bar and people smoke there. All I'm saying is that if you go for the food, it's the only slightly detracting thing. However, it's worth it to me! And the prices seemed very reasonable to me as well!
