Hector came to my home and said that while he handles the contracts, his very experienced father would be doing the actual flooring. That gave me confidence to hire them. However, on the day of the job, only three workers showed up -- and his father never came. When I asked where he was, Hector said he would be coming "soon," but he never showed up at all. The worst part was discovering, after the crew had left, that a special green pot -- which my sister and I had painted together 15 years ago -- had been broken and hidden in a corner of my garage. They turned the broken side around so I wouldn't notice right away. When I checked further, I also found a dent on the wall inside my house. They never told me about either. I texted Hector immediately. Instead of apologizing, he bluntly asked how much it would cost -- no empathy, no responsibility. Only after I pointed it out did he say "sorry" and asked for the amount again. I told him $100 for the sentimental pot and the wall repair. I sent him my Zelle info, but till now, no money and no communication. This company has no professionalism, no transparency, and absolutely no respect for your home or your emotions. They damaged my property, tried to hide it, and then ignored me. Please do not go by their Instagram reviews or flashy reels. My experience felt like a scam. We have never had such superior construction work done on our house, once we used Make A Choice…read more Honestly, EVERYTHING was done perfectly, and if not, they were quick to correct it, at their cost. Our job was very big: they rebuild our chimney to code, replaced rotten wood, rebuilt and repainted soffits, fixed damaged gutters, installed leaf guards, rebuilt our front porch railings and repainted the entire house. A+ job in all ways. When the city came by to inspect the permitted projects, the manager was always present and all of the work was built to city code. Chuck ran our job; you could never ask for a more thorough, more knowledgable and fair constructions manager than Chuck. The price was fair, they stuck to their estimate, the workers were very skilled, especially the painters. Frankly, I was stunned at the great job they did. Our 39 year old house looked brand new. I give Make a Choice my highest recommendation. It's rare to find such honest and diligent constructions folks these days. Luck and research convinced me to use them, thank goodness.

We hired JMR Home Services for a basement finishing project that began around September 2025…read more Unfortunately, the experience was very stressful. Communication and project management were inconsistent throughout the job, which required far more homeowner oversight and repeated follow-up than we expected just to keep work moving. Several workmanship and finish-quality issues arose during the project, including items that remained unresolved near the end. A walkthrough was conducted, the full balance ($50,835) was paid, and the county completed the final inspection and issued the Certificate of Occupancy. Despite this, remaining finish items were not completed and follow-up stopped. Closeout communication also became unnecessarily confrontational despite our consistent good-faith efforts to resolve issues and bring the project to a proper conclusion. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this company.
