    1 star is TOO HIGH OF A RATING Look at what these " professionals" did to my key when starting my car. The Technician named "Carlos" clearly doesn't know how to do his own job & huge shout out to the management for refusing to reimburse me for my new key that cost me $200. Went in for a simple tire rotation & came out with a broken key that was stuck in the ignition the entire day. FOREST GROVE LES SCHWAB never fails to meet its trash quality standards. KEEP IT UP!! YOU CAN DEFINITELY TELL YOU LITERALLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!

    This is a long review, but you may find it interesting as I am a "special needs" tire and alignment customers. The short of it is: I have high demands, and this shop exceeded every one of my expectations. I want to give 6 stars, but 5 will need to do. Now, for the long-winded version. I've been in the automotive industry for about 20 years. I've worked parts, service, and done internet sales at dealers and for my own business. I have to say that nowhere else have I gotten such respect from a group of people as I have from Les Schwab in Forest Grove, OR. The car in question is a totally customized Acura TSX, which is outfitted with an expensive body-kit and a set of wheels made for high-performance track use. Needless to say, I am not thrilled to have other people touch it. But to install my new set of Sumitomo HTR Z-III tires and align the car, it was a must. On top of this, I had requested to save two of the tires currently on the car, and for the alignment shop to call me in when they had the specs on the screen, but before any adjustments were made. If I sound like a pain in the butt customer, yeah maybe I am. But my requests were entered into the system without a blink. Simple. To start things off, there was some initial preventative caution taken when what seemed to be a shop supervisor halted a mechanic from using a hydraulic lift to raise my wheels off the ground. Doing so could have damaged a $700 set of side-skirts which take 3 months to get from Japan. Clearly they have good, experienced people working on cars there otherwise I'd be getting really angry at some costly damage. Good show, fellas! With that, I felt comfortable going into the lounge to relax knowing that the car was in good hands. A bit later, I was called out to the shop to view a wheel that had a problem. There was a small bend in one on the inner edge. Having inspected it I gave the green light to continue working on it. I was impressed with the attention to detail, though. The car is destined for track use and even small issues can be hazardous. It was good to know that the car's wheels and tires were inspected well. With that, the car moved to the alignment shop, unbeknownst to me. Les Schwab Forest Grove is equipped with an in-ground drive-on alignment rack. If you have a lowered car, fear not of this equipment. The car was pulled on and off without worry of bottoming the front bumper, even with the 2" lowering on my TSX. When the car was up and the specs were on the screen, I was summoned out to the shop to come take a look. Once out to the shop, I had a pow-wow with the alignment tech about where the specs were at, what I was going to do with the car, where I was taking it, what my goals were, and how I should set it up. Once we zeroed in on a set of specs, I let the man to his work and went back to the lounge. At this point, I'd like to point out that even though the video playing on a loop in the lounge did get repetitive after a while, it was awesome. With all of my years in automotive, having used to do tire changes and alignments myself, and consulting my own customers on automotive needs, I found very little to debate in terms of technical information being shown. Everyone has a unique take on things, but the video they show was so well made and very accurate...it made me jealous. I want a video like that for my business! A short while later, I was told the car was done and went to pay. While waiting for my invoice, I went out to give the car a look-over and there wasn't a scratch on it. No finger-prints, no smudges...even the tires were wiped down (there is normally some residue on the wheels from the mounting process, but not this time!). And wow, there were my two saved tires in the back seat of the car, wrapped in some heavy-duty Les Schwab bags to prevent the interior from getting dirty. I was floored. I'm keeping the bags. They are great :) So to recap: I got to be a picky pain in the ass with a high risk car and many special requests. Each one was handled in a fashion that exceeded my expectations and required me to follow-up or remind someone exactly zero times! I'd love to single out a particular person who made my experience a good one, but I can't. Everyone I encountered was so over-the-top helpful and polite that the whole team should be congratulated for their fine work. They were dressed professionally, clean (for tire dudes), respectful, and courteous. If anyone there is reading this, my invoice number was 72900137133. Everyone who worked on my car and/or corresponded with me should be promoted :) If I have ONE complaint, it is that the price cost more than I expected . The balance in particular felt pretty steep, but I avoided a lot more trouble and expense if I had taken it to another shop. Thanks! On a separate note I have a long standing beef with an employee of Jim, Arron Musgrove. It so happens I was from the town of Gaston. Long story short Scotty and Dan Geiger had wasted Aaron's peppermint snapps liquor. Aaron returned after work, needing his liquor. Scotty was a few years older as with Dan, apparently they both framed me in wasting the liquor. But I didn't drink any. My dad gave Arron a twenty. It was all down hill with constant scapegoating and belittling. As well I was smeared as Hispanic or part Mexican. I'm not Hispanic nor Mexican. If I was I would embrace that and have more friends of that culture.

    Jims automotive installed a timing belt on my car . When it was done I picked it up and brought it…read morehome I was happy to have it done I opened my hood to hear it run and look at it and I noticed 4 bolts sitting in the spots they go into on the spark plug cover . The bolts were not even hand tight . I was baffled and I thought ok I'll tighten those down and never go back to Jim's automotive in forest grove . Well I had that timing belt done April 22 this year 2024 . So driving home July 18 so less than 3 months later and I hear the worst sound coming from my engine . I wasn't going to have it towed to Jim's no way so I took it to a Japanese car specialist . He opened it up and the timing belt was shredded. They found a bolt that had come loose from the install that Jim's did . So I called the owner Jim and asked him if he would pay the other shop to fix what they did wrong and he said no . He did offer to fix the work but I told him no way will I ever bring my car back to them . When I spoke to him, he told me that sometimes when you take your car to another shop, they noticed things that the previous shop might not have picked up because of an extra set of eyes. I think this is total BS I should be able to depend on the shop that I take my car to in the first place, I expect my car to be fixed the first time if not the first time then maybe the second time but there's no way I would bring it back to them a third time. This is my experience with jims automotive and Forest Grove. I am going to be out a lot of money out of pocket because they did the job incorrectly. The first time the install they did did a lot of damage to my engine and now I am out of pocket just be aware of jims automotive if you have had good luck with them then that's great but this is my experience with them. They will not pay for another shop to fix it correctly and they will only fix it on their dime. If I bring it to them, I will never bring any of my vehicles to them. Unfortunately, this was a very bad experience. I don't know what I will do from here as far as trying to recoup my money back I have talked to a couple attorneys and we will see where it goes but be aware of jims automotive unless you want to take it back to them multiple times to make it right in my eyes you shouldn't have to take a car back to have it repaired multiple times because they didn't do the job right the first time I am going to upload some pictures and you can see the damage that has been done. I probably have bent valves. I'm probably gonna need some head work. It's probably gonna cost me around $4000, and this was all done because of preventative maintenance. I didn't even need to have my timing belt done at that time. The only reason I did it is because I had the money and I had about 15,000 miles before it was due. My car ran completely fine before I dropped it off to them the first time.

Check engine light came on and they gladly took it in to their shop and replaced the mass air flow sensor, only to have the light come on again before I left. Their lead mechanic let me go with him to drive it with their computer hooked up to the truck and was very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. At that point, he recommended a new fuel pump, which they ordered that day. They installed the new fuel Pump and also found one of the spark plug wires was bad and grounding out as well. They replaced ALL of my plug wires as a courtesy! Not gonna lie, I was Leary about purchasing a vehicle here at first, but we are thoroughly pleased with the OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE from their service center!!! The service shop manager and foreman are definitely going to help this place thrive! We would definitely purchase here again! Recommended
