We were on the way to the beach on memorial weekend. My husband popped the passenger side tire. We changed to spare on the side of the rode then pulled to Les schwab, Jorge was super helpful when we get there. He looked at the tire and said he can fix it in 20mins. The service he provided was excellent. And that made our bad day turn around for sure! I highly recommend this Les Schwab. Not sure why people did not like it. Dropped my car off at the Forest Grove Les Schwab at 10am for a simple puncture repair. This should have been a 20 minute job. Went out to do some shopping while waiting. No word from Schwab for 2 hours so I called them. They said the car was just about to go into the service bay. So I got some lunch and returned to the shop in anticipation at 12:30 and they were just pulling the car into the service bay. I waited for an hour in the store and no work was done. I got tired of waiting and went out for more time killing. Called again at 2:00 and they had not started on my car. I was getting short tempered by now and said I was on my way again. Got back to the shop at 2:15 and they were just starting on my car. Car was done at 2:30. I WAS a long time (40 year customer) of Les Schwab. Purchased may sets of tires and had other car maintenance done. Is this how they treat good long time customers? Never again! read more

I have bought tires at Les Schwab for 35 years! I hate China and all that is produced there. I needed new tires for my car. I told the salesman I didn't want chinese tires (their biggest sellers). I said anywhere that was not a comy country. He said he had American made tires and they were in my price range, GREAT! Well today I wanted to air up my tires before a long trip but I didn't know how much air they took. Well I was looking at the side wall for information and low and behold it said made in Serbia. Serbia must be from some where east of here. After my last incounter with this location, and now this, I am starting to think maybe there are better places to spend my money! read more

Wife took my truck tire in to be patched. The white lettering facing in. Got the tire back sameday. a few weeks later I noticed they put the tire back on the rim with the white lettering facing out. Went back to have them flip the tire around and got attitude from the guy behind the counter because I didn't notice right away. No apology at all. Actuality said they dont like being taken advantage of......huh???? Went down the street and told Jose tire what had happened and they did the work for free right away. I was surprised... they offered to make me an appointment for an alignment in the future. I instead went to the dealership with my new car. The Technician named "Carlos" clearly doesn't know how to do his own job & huge shout out to the management for refusing to reimburse me for my new key that cost me $200. Snow and ice tires: I have been an enthusiastic customer for many years of this particular tire shop. For years I have purchased tires from them. Had them do brake work etc. in all that time I've recognized their focus on customer satisfaction. I have never purchased their "in house brands", last year I did. For winter driving I've always used Nokian tires. Last year they sold me their top line snow tires product. Absolutely a pooooor product which rendered breathtakingly poor snow and ice performance. Literally frightening and dangerous. I called around October first to order NOKIAN tires to replace their brand. I wasn't asking for any discounts etc. they immediately started to try and sell one of their brands. Stuck to my guns telling them which NOKIAN studded tires I required plus wheels to have them mounted. They emailed me the cost. Outrageous. I then proceeded to do the exact same purchase with Discount Tires. $1,000 dollars cheaper for the product I wanted. Excellent service. Very disappointing that a local business that I've done business with for at least two decades has fallen so far behind regarding the old premise; the customer is always right. read more

Thank goodness for this Les Schwab, and specifically Jason M W! He absolutely saved us and made our day. My family is in town to drop off a daughter at college, nearly 400 miles away from home. We heard a bizarre noise coming from a back tire, and stopped by to see if anyone could check it out real quick. Jason helped us immediately, and found out a bolt was missing on a caliper. I had a front brake job done at this location. They upsold the brake pads and rotors. Tore my truck apart, then left it for approx 45min, with nobody working on it until I asked about it. The first time I drove it after the brake job, I had to drive to Portland Airport....the left front caliper was sticking and smoking. I limped it into the Portland Les Schwab on Columbia. They confirmed that the caliper was indeed frozen. I had to have new calipers installed. Forest Grove seemed more concerned about upselling and less concerned about quality of work and customer satisfaction. I am all about supporting local businesses but will not be returning to the Forest Grove Les Schwab. Very disappointing and unprofessional. read more

Took my SUV in on Friday and again on Monday to have air added to rear tires that were low. Was told there was a screw in one of them and needed to have it repaired. Brought SUV in yesterday (Tuesday) and the guy who was assigned to fix the tire told me he didn't find any problems. He had spent some time trying to assure me there was no problem that the tires were not leaking air - and I was prepared to buy 2 new tires because I knew they needed to be replaced soon. I walked with him to look at the tire he had taken off and then he noticed the screw. I asked him to put the tire back on and I would take it elsewhere to be taken care of. He pulled the screw out before putting the tire back on. Poor customer service at the very least. Disappointed and took our business to Discount Tire for the 2nd time in a year, after a bad experience here. (Bought 4 Michelins for other car last time elsewhere). We were Les Schwab customers for decades but they have lost us. Also overheard a conversation while in the shop that the daughter of Les Schwab is trying to sell the business. The employees were notified on Christmas Eve. Maybe the employees are disgruntled? Sad to see an iconic PNW business loose its shine. read more

I dropped my vehicle off to get the tires inspected for leaks. After receiving my car back from them I started hearing a squeaking sound coming from my driver side rear tire. I found that the lug nuts holding my tires on were only hand tight and could have easily come off of the vehicle. Monday after work I took my 2003 Toyota Corolla into Les Schwab to get a new battery. I got a great battery mine was bad as I thought. They changed it out put the new on in and then started my car worked great. Came in to get the paper work done, tried to start my car again didn't start. The guys work so hard to fix the problem, looking on line trying everything the could. The car would show everything working lights, radio, ect. It would not turn over,no matter what they did. I had it towed to Royal Moore and turns out it was the starter I just want to say thank you and I totally appreciate it all that you did and trying to figure out what was wrong. Not welcoming at all and horrible service. Firstly got two different quotes for the same thing and they were different prices. Then I went in and dropped off my car after two prior visits and a prior appointment that got me no where and two hours later I get a phone call telling me they don't think they can work on my car today because their schedule is too full and don't even know what the problem is. Mind you, I had already made this appointment the week before. Never have I ever been to a more unorganized place. If you are considering this business please reconsider and go to a local place like Ortiz auto in Forest Grove or west side auto repair in Cornelius. I have had great experiences at both those places and would have gone this time if this wasn't a car emergency that I mistakenly thought Les Schwabs would be able to take care of. Rating would've been a 4.5. As always, customer service was fast, polite and helpful for a brake job. 11/12/20 Things fell apart when I climbed into my car to leave. There were black greasy handprints all over the blonde almost white leather interior of the drivers door and handle. Not just a smear! A bloody crime scene of grease. Amazing how my satisfaction spiraled. I cleaned it immediately with Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer. I did complain before I left but I'd cleaned it up myself so... I can still see the grease stuck in the tiny holes. They had the car 24 hrs to work on it. It's not like they were short of time. Doesn't anyone check a car over for things like this at completion? This was total disrespect and causes me to now question the work I can't see. read more

This is a long review, but you may find it interesting as I am a "special needs" tire and alignment customers. The short of it is: I have high demands, and this shop exceeded every one of my expectations. I want to give 6 stars, but 5 will need to do. Now, for the long-winded version. I've been in the automotive industry for about 20 years. I've worked parts, service, and done internet sales at dealers and for my own business. I have to say that nowhere else have I gotten such respect from a group of people as I have from Les Schwab in Forest Grove, OR. The car in question is a totally customized Acura TSX, which is outfitted with an expensive body-kit and a set of wheels made for high-performance track use. Needless to say, I am not thrilled to have other people touch it. But to install my new set of Sumitomo HTR Z-III tires and align the car, it was a must. On top of this, I had requested to save two of the tires currently on the car, and for the alignment shop to call me in when they had the specs on the screen, but before any adjustments were made. If I sound like a pain in the butt customer, yeah maybe I am. But my requests were entered into the system without a blink. Simple. To start things off, there was some initial preventative caution taken when what seemed to be a shop supervisor halted a mechanic from using a hydraulic lift to raise my wheels off the ground. Doing so could have damaged a $700 set of side-skirts which take 3 months to get from Japan. Clearly they have good, experienced people working on cars there otherwise I'd be getting really angry at some costly damage. Good show, fellas! With that, I felt comfortable going into the lounge to relax knowing that the car was in good hands. A bit later, I was called out to the shop to view a wheel that had a problem. There was a small bend in one on the inner edge. Having inspected it I gave the green light to continue working on it. I was impressed with the attention to detail, though. The car is destined for track use and even small issues can be hazardous. It was good to know that the car's wheels and tires were inspected well. With that, the car moved to the alignment shop, unbeknownst to me. Les Schwab Forest Grove is equipped with an in-ground drive-on alignment rack. If you have a lowered car, fear not of this equipment. The car was pulled on and off without worry of bottoming the front bumper, even with the 2" lowering on my TSX. When the car was up and the specs were on the screen, I was summoned out to the shop to come take a look. Once out to the shop, I had a pow-wow with the alignment tech about where the specs were at, what I was going to do with the car, where I was taking it, what my goals were, and how I should set it up. Once we zeroed in on a set of specs, I let the man to his work and went back to the lounge. At this point, I'd like to point out that even though the video playing on a loop in the lounge did get repetitive after a while, it was awesome. With all of my years in automotive, having used to do tire changes and alignments myself, and consulting my own customers on automotive needs, I found very little to debate in terms of technical information being shown. Everyone has a unique take on things, but the video they show was so well made and very accurate...it made me jealous. I want a video like that for my business! A short while later, I was told the car was done and went to pay. While waiting for my invoice, I went out to give the car a look-over and there wasn't a scratch on it. No finger-prints, no smudges...even the tires were wiped down (there is normally some residue on the wheels from the mounting process, but not this time!). And wow, there were my two saved tires in the back seat of the car, wrapped in some heavy-duty Les Schwab bags to prevent the interior from getting dirty. I was floored. I'm keeping the bags. They are great :) So to recap: I got to be a picky pain in the ass with a high risk car and many special requests. Each one was handled in a fashion that exceeded my expectations and required me to follow-up or remind someone exactly zero times! I'd love to single out a particular person who made my experience a good one, but I can't. Everyone I encountered was so over-the-top helpful and polite that the whole team should be congratulated for their fine work. They were dressed professionally, clean (for tire dudes), respectful, and courteous. If anyone there is reading this, my invoice number was 72900137133. Everyone who worked on my car and/or corresponded with me should be promoted :) If I have ONE complaint, it is that the price cost more than I expected . The balance in particular felt pretty steep, but I avoided a lot more trouble and expense if I had taken it to another shop. Thanks! Waited almost two hrs for a nail in my tire. The only tire place I i to is Les Schwab but usually at the Clackamas one on Hyw. 212. I'm usually in and out within an hour. I gave a 4 star because MOST of the staff here are top notch. The service they provide is absolutely the best and I have done business with this location my entire life, as my father did as well. I must say that the last several visits have been less than satisfying due to the RUDE and downright disrespectful attitude of the service manager "JASON". Not sure what's up with this guy but its people like him that can destroy an otherwise great business....unfortunate because everyone else really goes the extra mile to be courteous and helpful. I wish you could post 0 stars this location doesn't deserve the one star I was a loyal customer for 30 years and a a whole Les Schwab has crashed and burned as a company in my opinion three times they have refused to work on various vehicles I've brought in for very minor issues that even 5 years ago they had helped or been willing to help with now it seems they'd rather turn away customers rather than help. I brought in two wheels with tires on them and they wouldn't even simply remove the tires from them. That's all I needed done ... As someone who works in advertising this is a big statement: the ads are 100% true! I was driving home on a country when when I hit a pothole and blew out my run flat tire (it was a serious pothole). I was able to get home whereupon I called the nearest Les Schwab and shared my tale. They told me to bring the car over and they would take a look. Upon closer inspection I had not just blown the tire, but I'd bent the rim. Mike was amazing! He hooked me up with a replacement tire and told me not to worry. He knows a guy who specializes in refurbished rims and was able to find me a new rim and a barely used tire for less than it would have cost me to get a a new rim from the dealer. The service was great and the price was just right. For once the advertising lives up to the actual experience. My next set of tires will be from Les Schwab - they converted this advertising skeptic! read more

I had Gratteri's Les Schwabs in Forest Grove do a Wheel Alignment on my 4x4 truck. The truck was pulling to the passenger side if I let go of the steering wheel after hitting several large potholes but it was easy to drive with one hand,Before hitting the potholes I could steer it with one finger on smooth road, So I took my truck in to get fix it after they said my truck was fixed the guy said I had some slop in the gearbox he said the Alignment was not perfect but it was the best he could get it. These guys were backed up really busy with a lot of cars and customers. So I paid 175.98. I headed home when I got out on the highway I noticed the steering wheel had some play in it that it never had before soon as I got to the section of highway that was a little rougher road the steering was awful the truck was wandering all over the road so bad I crossed the yellow line and all most hit a semi-truck I had to slow down to 40-45 top speed to keep my truck in my lane it wandered both to the left and right so bad It is unsafe to drive. I don't know what the young guy working on my truck did to it. Clearly, he never took it out for a test drive to see if it was safe to drive, I will never let Gratteri's Les Schwabs touch any of my family's vehicles again. read more

Garbage customer service. Lackluster communication and my car spent more time sitting in the shop than being aligned. Was told ball joints were bad lol I had my truck in the shop the day before and ever was in spec. They also lost my keys at the end of this painful transaction. They bait and switch and up sell components that are not needed. The "techs" have absolutely no clue what they are doing. Came in to get my front tires replaced. Bought brand new tires for an outrageous price, which took two hours for a normal tire swap. Then the employee that changes my tires took my custom tire caps and kept them until I noticed they were gone and complained. After leaving I noticed my car was handling horribly. I took my car in to get it checked and they can't figure out what they did wrong. Now I'm stuck with a car that doesn't drive corresctly just because I got my tires replaced. Should have been quick and easy, now I'm considering a lawsuit. Do Not, I repeat, do not trust this location. They have very errigant employees that treat their customers as if they are retarded. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I brought in my truck for a rear brake job back in April of this year. First of all, while doing my brakes they somehow arced my battery and killed my stereo. As in it wouldn't turn on and I had no sounds for my turn signals. Instead of staying to fix their mistake, they made me bring my truck back in and ultimately had to take it Kramer's to repair the stereo. Secondly, my rear brakes were making this awful squeaking sound while my front brakes were perfectly fine. But miraculously as soon as I left the lot, my front brakes now sounded like my rears had. I brought it back in for inspection and they told me all was good. I am CONVINCED that Les Schwab removed my bad rear brakes and put them on the front in hopes that I would come back and have them replace those as well. I wasted $491.98 for the worst brake job and service of my life. I would gladly exchange my worthless brake warranty for my money back. I am NOT satisfied and I would NOT recommend anyone to come here. Unless I get my $491.98 back, I will not not be happy. Definitely wasn't worth the time or the money and I feel like I was conned. 12-6-19 Update: Les Schwab commented on my review and asked me to reach out on their website. So I did just that, TWICE. Never heard a single thing back from them. I stand by my review. They do not care about their customers, nor do they care about their reputation or integrity. That is clear. read more

Les Schwab is only good for tires. I thought I needed a new battery. I went there and they checked the battery. They told me my battery was fine. So I went without a car all weekend and Monday had it towed to an auto repair shop. And after checking it thoroughly it was a bad battery! Cost me a lot more. When I called to tell Les Schwab all I got was that they did their best. They have a new machine that checks batteries blah blah. Well pretty sad state of affairs if that was their best. read more

I stopped by a couple places on my way home to get a battery check done but they all said there was either a super long wait or they were about to close but I could come back tomorrow. I ended up calling the Forest Grove Les Schwab, talked to Roman, and he said to come on in and even though they're closing soon they will wait for me. I could've literally hugged him at this point; I was so frustrated. They checked my battery, determined it was bad, and I bought a new one on the spot. Not only did they do it on the spot without a wait or appointment, but they also didn't charge me for it and did it all with a smile. I had two experiences with Les Schwab. The first is a 4 star for a battery.. Living far from any car repair place, this is the closest. The battery was quick and efficient and they did a great job.. The tires, not so much.. Was there for about 2-3 hours.. Tires were expensive with a 50,000 mile guarantee.. Went to my usual repair place for a strut job. They are always thorough at that place.. Yesterday, four months later, I went in to check on a need service light in the car, and found that I needed a brake job.. Did it and they mentioned that the tires were totally worn down (from the job in March with the 50,000 mile guarantee , it was just six thousand). They then asked me where the struts were done.. and blamed the poor alignment on them and would NOT guarantee the over 200.00 tires( each) a replacement. Not wanting to argue, as I do not have lawyerly instincts, I now need new tires and have to pay again..Not a good situation.. They need to learn better customer service. Rating for this one is a one star. read more
