Scappoose Les Schwab is the best. They come always provide great service, we drive 20 minutes past one location to come to Scappoose because of their service. Recent visit was due to a nail in our tire, although it was not a purchased from Les Schwab and I was ready to pay the flat repair costs they told me we're good and not to worry about the charge it's on the house.. I thought that was great, how many businesses do that nowadays? Not many. We take both of our other vehicles to this location for all of our tire needs and we recommend them to all. read more

We just visited Les Schwab at Scappoose today! Eli was awesome! So personable, helpful, and really worked with us to buy new wheels, and tire pressure sensors. They put the new wheels and sensors on our studded snow tires, then did the winter change over of the tires, they even offer winter storage!!! Everyone we worked with was great! He said he really likes his new manager, and they are doing well! Eli makes some mean coffee and popcorn! Business was super clean and efficient. Did all the work in less than an hour. We live by Long Beach WA, used to go to Warrenton office, no more! We will drive 2+ hours and always go to the Scappoose business from now on!!! read more

I have been spending money at Schwab's for 30+ years and have always been happy with them until recently. Saint Helens installed the wrong shocks which I had to later go to Hillsboro to get the correct ones. A few months later I went to Scappoose for struts and discovered that they cut off my skid plate and offered me the option to submit a claim to get the part replaced. Six weeks ago I picked up an object in a tire causing it to require a repair. Went to the Scappoose store where I was told that the object was too far in to the side wall so it could not be repaired, and that with the all wheel drive system the tire wear was enough that I would need to buy all new tires. I have been involved with cars for over fifty years and have worked at one time in a tire shop, so I was sure the area damaged was not too far in to the side wall, but not wishing to argue with someone trying to 'scare sell' a senior citizen in to buying new tires I had them mount the spare. This frustrated her a bit. I then took the tire to another local Schwab and was told that the tire was good and had it repaired. Came in to have a tire fixed, nail in tire slow leak. Lady at the counter was more worried if I was in the system than solving my tire issue, she seemed frustrated. Waited for an hour and no one said a word, I finally said I would like my keys back and she just looked at me with the deer in the headlight look. Do you remember when Les Schwab was a great company? They weren't the cheapest, but their customer service was outstanding. Everything from running out to your car with a smile to the free popcorn. They fixed flats for free, the place was great. Not so much now. I went in to have a sidewall blowout fixed/replaced. Inside we determined I hadn't purchased the tires there, and they didn't have a replacement anyway. Les Schwab had moved my car and closed it up only they didn't put my tire and wheel back in the trunk. I made an appointment and drove out to the dealership where the tires were purchased, (20+ miles). They had the tire, but I didn't have a wheel because Les Schwab forgot to put it back in my car. I took the tire sans wheel back to Schwab and they would NOT put the tire on the wheel unless I paid them to do it. WAIT A MINUTE! You made a mistake, and I have to pay? Great service that is. The manager said they would do better next time. I told him there wouldn't be a next time. They have lost a customer for ever. LATER, next day I have an addendum to my saga..... I called one more time to Swabies (Scappoose) and talked with the real manager. He basically said it was as much my fault as theirs but they would do the work for a discount. Thanks, but no thanks. At this point I'm not giving in. I decided to call Les Schwab in St Helens, 8 miles down the road, and once again reiterated my saga and asked their manager " Am I crazy or unreasonable?" Robert, the St Helen's manager said "Nope, Bring your car in, we will take care of you, no charge!" So, I will limit my extreme disappointment with the the Scappoose store. One of my tires fluctuates & the tire pressure light comes on in my car. Take it to Les Schwab & they've filled it & patches it for free. The biggest thing is they NEVER make the alert light on my dash turn off. They tell my dad or my brother (who have time to take my car in) that it'll turn off on it's own. IT NEVER DOES! I usually end up taking it to O'Reilly's to have them turn it off. Suuuuuper annoying. read more

I've had several issues with them. It's more about how much money they can get out of you than weather you actually need the services or tires. They've told me a needed a tire replaced and then changed their mind when it was under warranty. I went in for a pre trip tire check and was sold two tires by some 18 year old kid, later I discovered they were under warranty and should have been fine. They didn't replace the ONE that wasn't covered, that one went flat in the Middle of the Redwood Forest and I had to go pay them for another tire. They also refuse service when your tire pressure sensors, according to them , aren't working. $80 each, no proof, they refused to put my all weather tires on after I'd sat there for more than an hour. If you have money to throw away, I'm sure they're great. I've been able to get better products at half the price and faster service in the city. They got me in, we're polite, did an excellent job, notified me of another problem I needed to get fixed right away. They went above and beyond the call of duty. I usually have a good experience at Les Schwab, but today was different. I arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment time for a front end alignment, checked in and gave the employee my keys and current cell phone number. It should have taken between 30 minutes and an hour to complete. I returned 45 minutes later to find my truck was still in the parking lot where I parked it, and the alignment rack was empty. When I asked why my truck hadn't been touched yet, I was told "something came up, and we hope to get to it soon". I understand that "stuff comes up", but a phone call would have been nice to know it was delayed. I didn't have time to wait for them to "hope to get to it soon", so I requested my keys and left. I love these guys. I put thier warranty to the test again & again, get all my tires & batteries here. Every low tire, every puncture, rotation they do for free and always with impeccable service! Friendly and competent. Businesses don't follow this model anymore, but Les Schwab does. Keep it up folks, you never disappoint. Except when I bought a set of used tires for my truck, and afterward realized they had been studded with the studs pulled out, which you didn't mention when I purchased them. Even refused to put the old tire back on so we could move the boat to someplace that would fix it. Then REFUSED to give the old tire back to us. Would take no responsibility for their negligence. I visited the new Les Schwab's in Scappoose a month ago for a brand new set of tires. They really do run to your car and showed me where to enter and whom to ask for. Inside, I was greeted immediately. The store was clean and relatively comfortable. Not crowded. I must have been the 2nd person in the store that day. It is nice that the popcorn and coffee are available. All of the staff were very professional and polite. The young man advised it would take 20 minutes and it did. The funny part was that when my car was ready I had to ask for my keys. Then when we were checking the spare (to be sure it was in acceptable condition) the young man locked my keys in the trunk. Good thing my driver window was down the door unlocked and I could pop the trunk from inside. All in all it was not a bad experience. I will definitely be back. read more

After getting new tires at Walmart and an alignment at les Schwab my car was still drifting, and Les Schwab was extremely helpful in diagnosing the problem and helping me prove it to Walmart! Even though I didn't purchase tires from them they didn't charge me for anything and helped me get to the bottom of what was wrong with my car! Gordon and Kat were both especially helpful in making sure everything was in tip top shape and helping build an argument against Walmart! read more

They've got quality stuff, do good work and generally guarantee all of it. However if you, for example, know that your shocks are shot but still want to get new tires to drive on for the last year you plan on having the vehicle, for God's sake do not let them put it up on their rack to discover. They will demand that you have them replace the shocks and struts or they can't let you drive out of there. It's just too dangerous to be on road so you have to get this $1500 worth of work done before they'll let you drive it out of there because after all if you get a wreck and someone gets hurt the cops are definitely going to go after your mechanic cause that happens all the time. Or my favorite was when I went in with a slow leak on one tire that I just wanted them to patch but wouldn't you know it the hole was on the side wall and apparently you can not patch a hole on the side wall. ( I worked at a service station in high school and have patched many holes on the side wall of a tire and I mean like thousands and never once did I ever have anyone come back complaining) Regardless they just can not patch it so you'll have buy a new tire, the cheapest one they have is just $55 but oh wait, you drive an all wheel drive Subaru. Sorry but all wheel drive vehicle have to have the exact same size of tires because if one rotated faster or slower than the other three your car would blow up and you'd be incinerated in a matter of seconds! So you're going to have to buy four brand new tires or yep, they can't let you drive out of there. I pulled in expecting to pay nothing for a tire patch and ended up having to pay them $210 or I was going have to call a god damn tow truck to pull me out of their lot. I would have been late to work and probably gotten fired. So I paid them but it felt to me like I was being extorted. That's what they are, extortion artists. Just beware of that little fact as you go in and you'll be alright.6 read more

Called ahead to get wait time on getting tires rotated and balanced on our truck. They said it was about an hour wait, got there about 10 mins later and checked in and they said it would be a 3 hour wait. That was already frustrating because if we knew that we would have brought our other car so we could runs errands. We ended up accepting that and left our keys, name, and phone number to call when it was ready. We left and walked to the near by stores and went to get some food at a near by restaurant. Walked back to Les Schwab right at the 3 hour mark. Went in and sat down because we hadn't been called yet and our truck was still sitting in the parking lot, so we were assuming no work had been done so we were going to wait. Sat in the lobby for about 20-30 more minutes when a tech came out and called our name. We went up to check out and they let us know that they did not do any work to the truck at all because there was separation in the tires and they wanted to give us a quote for new tires. I then stated that we had been waiting for 3 HOURS and asked why we couldn't have been told about this sooner?? They then stated that they tried to call our name out in the lobby but we weren't there. We mentioned that we left our phone number and never got a call and the tech stated that he did not try to call our phone. So we left with time wasted and no work done to our tires. Very frustrating. Front desk rep told us wait would be 1 hour which I had no problem with but after waiting 1.5 hours and my car was still sitting I asked for my keys and left because still had no idea how long. The teamwork and customer service at this shop is awesome. Pulling into the parking area a service tech stopped me and asked me what I needed and directed me in the right direction. Just before heading back home after seeing my brand new niece I heard that terrible sound of leaking air...fast. I have used Schwab tire businesses for decades, and typically found them to have great customer service. That does not apply to this particular Schwab business in Scappoose. A few months ago I left my car there to have a tire leak fixed. I was told 45 minutes. I waited an hour and a half, and when I said I couldn't wait any longer all I got was a blank stare. I didn't write a review then, but a more recent visit was also unsatisfactory, and has prompted this review. I left a flat tire to be fixed, and was told that I would receive a call back when it was fixed. I also had a request for a part, and was told by the same management person that I would also receive a call regarding his effort to locate that part. I never received a call for either the tire or the part, so I just dropped by and picked up the tire. In regard to the part, the same management person said he searched but could not find the part. So why didn't I receive a call? I drove with the tire on my car for the past few weeks, and it still has a leak. I am taking it into the Schwab shop in St. Helens and see what happens there. My overall opinion, based on direct contact and observation, is that the Scappoose shop has too many people who don't like their job. There is a workplace culture of bad attitudes in that place, and it needs a wholesale personnel restoration. read more

I have been a resident of Scappoose Oregon and customer of Les Schwab in Scappoose for the past 4 years purchasing numerous tires, brake repairs and vehicle incidentals. I brought my car in this morning and was told it would take two hours to have my rear passenger side tire looked at. Moreover, 2 hours later I returned and ask the young lady behind the counter for an update in regard to the timeframe for my vehicle to be looked at. I was told by the woman in a very rude manner that there were many other vehicles waiting to be looked at before mine. I responded back to the woman at the counter that was not the question I had asked. I merely wanted to know if my car had been looked at or not?The woman went in the back and came back out a few minutes later stating it would be another two hours before my vehicle was looked at for a total of 4 hours. I told the woman that two hours prior I was told two hours and now I was told it would be at least two additional hours her rude response to me was well that's just how things work out sometime it is what is. I was definitely taken back by the horrible customer service and the rude manner in which I was treated this morning on my visit to Les Schwab. I will definitely not be going back here ever again and every chance I have to tell people in the Scappoose Oregon Community of my horrible Les Schwab experience this morning I will certainly do. read more

We probably purchase our tires at Les Schwab 3/4 of the time. Our snow tires we purchased from Discount Tires. They were $100 per set of tires less than Les Schwab, so we went with them. Recently I had a screw in my rear tire and needed to drive early the next morning. So I drove to Les Schawb and arrived at 5:40pm and asked them pretty please would they patch it. The man in the office said no problem and they had time. I said the thing of it was, I bought the tire somewhere else and would be glad to pay for the service. The person in the office Gordon, straight faced lectured me about purchasing tires somewhere else that does not donate to our local town, Scappoose. This went on for several minutes. They did patch my tire at no cost, but I would have rather paid for the service than be lectured. When I got home and told my husband we need not to ever purchase tires from Scappoose Les Schwab. We could purchase from St. Helens or North Portland but not Scappoose. Until this we had typically had good customer service from this store. read more

I bought some snow tires for my Nissan Altima a few years ago from this location. They were so great and assisted me in taking the tires that were removed to my house nearby. I didn't want to transport dirty tires AND I store them outside so the tire swap is always dirty and wet. Well, this year when I came to ask for assistance changing out my snow tires Gordon at the front desk ask me what kind of car I had and after I told him he said "you should have plenty of room in your car" I explained that I had to store them outside and he said "I'll give you some clean bags" I was so taken aback by the lack of customer service and unwillingness to help. I wasn't being unrealistically demanding I was just asking for some help. I just walked away feeling like I was putting Gordon out by even asking. I'm so bummed because I go to Les Schwab for their excellent customer service and now I will never go back after the way I was handled. I've currently dried my tires out, picked up fresh new bags from another location, and will now have to take my vehicle elsewhere for tire service Customer service is so important to me and this experience was very disappointing. read more

I went in to get a flat fixed when I left my tire sensor was not reset so I took it back and they found a second nail in a different tire. I got in my vehicle to see the light still on. So they checked my sensors and found one not working so they took off the tire and said there was no damage to the sensor. So I get a price on tires and wheels and a new sensor and order them. I left work early to get them put on only to find out they forgot to order them. So now I'm out the money for a sensor and the time I took off for no reason. Never again will I shop at Les Schwab or recommend them to any one. read more

I was headed work in Portland when something went wrong. My car shook and there was an awful noise of metal on asphalt. I pulled my car over on hwy 30 to find to my horror that tire pretty much exploded... A rescuer pulled over and helped me get my spare on and load the "deader than a doornail" tire into my trunk. I back tracked to the Scappoose Les Schwab. The people working were welcoming and listened as I explained my tale of exploding tire. They worked quickly and efficiently to get me back on the road to work. They offered choices and were not pushy sales people. They explained things without using fancy car jargon that a 20 something year old female doesn't know. I made my choices, they fixed the car and I was on my way. The thing that pushed the experience over the top was *drumroll* they put all the tools away in my trunk that I had thrown all over the place during my tire explosion crisis. To me that wad going above and beyond. I have returned twice for my tire rotations and continue to have great experiences.
