They were stuck on and he wasn't able to put air in his tires. This Les Schwab went above and beyond to identify a challenge with my tire and fix the issue is a rapid manner.

My tire got a screw in it while my family was visiting from out of state. They quoted an hour wait and it ended up taking 2.5 hours, but they waived the charge, did a full inspection, and fixed my tire for free! More importantly, during the inspection, they identified that my wheel alignment was way off and the outer portion of my tires was almost bald, to the point that the metal of the wheels was almost poking through. They emphasized the importance of this and how dangerous it could be to drive much longer. I had done a cross-country move last year and completely forgot to rotate my tires since. It was definitely preventable if I had rotated my tires more often, but that was my bad. I just had my Jeep serviced at the actual dealership less than 2 weeks prior who wrongly told me that my alignment and tires "looked good". Les Schwab printed out the alignment diagram to show just how bad it was, and I was able to purchase all new tires the next day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They estimated "several hours"; my appointment was at 2 and it was ready for pickup by 6. Been going to Les Schwab Tire Centers for over 40 years. Discovered them first in Sequim on the Olympic Peninsula when I had my home/business there and continued to get my tires and suspension work done at their Aurora Ave location in North Seattle when I moved to Seattle. Since that North Seattle location closed, I was happy to see there was another location close by on Lake City Way. All in all, I've probably been running LS sourced tires on over 16 different light and heavy duty trucks, trailers and passenger cars throughout the years. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Made my appointment for new All Season Pirelli's online and waited at the store the morning of.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Place was pretty packed for a sunny holiday Saturday morning, but these guys got my new tires sipped, balanced, mounted with new TPMS sensors in under an hour. Found my new go to Les Schwab location and couldn't be happier. Could I have saved a couple of hundred bucks elsewhere if I comparison shopped at warehouse stores? I was quoted $1300 to replace both rear tires because I had a flat in one. Fortunately, I already had a quote from my car dealer of $849, so I started asking questions. Salesperson, talking fast, insisted I need to choose "run flat" tires, which are more expensive. Salesperson also insisted that their siping charge ($18 per tire--and for all four tires!) was a really important safety practice (it was on the quote and was actually optional, but was not listed that way). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I kept having to ask the salesperson to slow down, explain the terms they were using, etc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Frankly, my flimflam detector was going off big time. Went home, did a bunch of research, and discovered that run-flat tires are not at all recommended for my vehicle (an EV), and that siping is widely regarded as unnecessary and even potentially voiding the tire warranty. I felt like this push for siping was a "sell them undercoating" car sales tactic simply to increase profits, and that this reflects really badly on Les Schwab in general. I went elsewhere. I will likely not be back to Les Schwab as a result of this experience. read more

I asked them to text me when I was next in line in the queue so I wouldn't have to wait a long time there. I've now taken two cars to Les Schwab and have been delighted with their service and speed. My first car had a slow leak caused by a nail, and as a first-time customer, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the repair was free. On my second visit, my second car also had a nail in the tire, but the damage was too severe to repair. Since I have an AWD car, I was worried about replacing all four tires, which could have been a $2,000 expense after only putting 10,000 miles on a brand-new vehicle. Bait and switch. Long time customer of Les Schwab (30 years). I dropped my car off today for a seasonal changeover and they said $110. When they were done the total was $154. I told them "I thought it was around $100?" and the lady went back and checked with the service tech. She came back and said it was because they weren't Les Schwab tires (true) and it was the same charge as last time. I'm not one to be confrontational over $40 so I just left. I'm fine with it being more expensive, I just don't like the change when it comes time to pay the bill... and after the work is done. Took my car in because we had a slow leak in one of our tires. They had a long waiting list -- which to me is actually a good sign -- so I left my number with them and they texted when I was next in line. I handed them the keys and not long after -- I can't remember how long the wait was -- they brought me keys back and said a nail was in the tire, which they patched. The kicker? This would be my first review and visit to les schwab tire center and wasn't happy with it. First things first, just a brief background, I did lift my truck with aftermarket front and rear shocks and Upper control arms 2 days prior to appointment of which is an alignment. Wanted to go to les schwab because they're the closest shop for alignment and had a schedule available over the weekend. Went in on 4/24/21 at 3PM appointment, and after few minutes approximately `20 minutes, a technician called me and said they cant do alignment because my inner tie rod lock nut is seized up due to rust, etc... so I asked them, if they used a penetrating oil, he replied they tried to heat it up and still wont come lose, Then he suggested to replace left and right inner tie rod so that they can do an alignment specifically the front TOE. (shown on the picture) I didn't go through with the work because of multiple reasons, first they don't have the part, second the cost is so expensive and third I can do it myself for the fraction of a cost. After everything said and done, I did a visual check of the tie rod and there was a minimal or no effort at all to loosen up the nut from the inner tie rod to outer tie rod, so I already know that my tie rod is definitely fine. After that appointment I called Firestone for alignment for the next day and luckily I was able to secure a spot for my truck to get it aligned. Went in on the Sunday 4/25/21 9am, and they did an alignment on my truck and was able to adjust the TOE without replacing the inner tie rod. (shown on the picture) I attached both les schwab and firestones work order and alignment report to show comparison that FIRESTONE got the job done and LES SCHWAB tried to sell something that is unnecessary.. It's so hard to believe that this kind of scams still exist, getting someone to buy into something that is entirely unnecessary, good thing I know a thing or two about my truck and other vehicles. I would never go to les schwab again and would advise everyone else to to steer away from them, and find a honest mechanic. read more

Racist? It takes a lot for me to complain and this is the first review I've done it. Avoid Lake City Les Schwab like the plague! I've had my tires serviced at this location for over 8 years and it has gotten continuously WORSE over the years. Here are some of the following issues I have: 1. They say they are going to do a job but do not do it (like tire rotation) and do not tell you or give you a receipt. 2. Constantly wrong on time estimates: they say 45 minutes but mean 4.5 hours. 3. I went in for a tire rotation and took my car home. Next day, I have a flat tire! They say maybe I hit a pothole. I DID NOT & from their store to my home is less than 2 miles. 5. When I went to pick up my car, they have parked it in the back of the store and 1/8 of car is sticking out in the street. 6. Jim, who works in the office, is the WORST! I called about getting new tires for my car which they recommend. He says, after getting my information, "What car do you have." They serviced the same car for 8 YEARS. I tell him and he says there is nothing in the records that shows the tire size. WHAT? I have to come in so they can look at the tire size. (I've ordered tires from them before) I tell him forget it. I call another Les Schwab. They look up my account and the tire size is there and say come on in. I do and it's completed. 7. I call them back and ask to speak to the manager, Levi, yet he's on vacation. I ask to speak to the assistant manager, Dan. Jim puts me on hold two times for over 12 minutes and hangs up on me after the second hold. I call again and I'm told that Dan is at lunch at 2:58 pm. 8. I was also told that they do not do alignments on my type of car, but I was told to schedule the alignment there the last time I was in. Ahhhh! Yet, when I ask another Les Schwab location they say, of course we can. Now, my husband goes to the Lake City Les Schwab and has not had the issues I've had. Yet, he is Caucasian. I am a person of color. Maybe that's the issue! read more

Ugh! I needed some winter tires swapped for my summer tires. Both sets are on their own wheels and have pressure sensors installed. So it was a matter of a few minutes of very simple work. I called in advance to ask if they could take a drive in today, and they said they could. So I drive about 4 miles to get there, arriving about 15-20 minutes after I called. They said, no more time to do this today. When I told them they'd just said they could do it. they said, they got busy right after I called. Then they offered to try to work it in, if I could leave the car all day. I asked what they were planning to charge. They said $110. I had just called a different Les Schwab who had said this was no charge if I was buying some tires, which I was planning to do (to replace the ones I was taking off). Take away: I've usually had great experiences with Les Schwab stores. But Les Schwab tire centers aren't all the same quality. I won't be buying any tires from their Lake City store. read more

I wanted to make an appointment to have a new battery installed--my old one was toast, so the sale was already there. The lady who answered said, "No, just walk in." I said, "No, I want to make an appointment so I DON'T have to walk in and wait two hours. I want to save time." I guess it doesn't work that way any more. So, instead, I called my RoadSide assistance, got a jump, went to O'reilly's, bought a $169 group 75 battery, 36-months, 610 cc.amps, and went to a smaller, more homey automotive repair center and had it installed within the hour. I made an appointment, and it worked. This is how it is supposed to be. What I believe is the first page of the hidden or not recommended reviews tend to tell the real story. Truly terrible establishment. Please read our story of dealing with this store and save yourself some heartache and money by avoiding it. Brought our perfectly functioning 2017 vehicle in for new pads and rotors, picked it up that night once completed, and first red light my wife and kids come to, the brakes malfunction and the car rolls into the intersection. Very upsetting, thankfully nobody hurt. Brought our car back to them to figure out what was wrong, and after messing around with it for a few days, they say the brake booster failed during the brake job, but it's not their responsibility to fix... they have chalked it up to mere "coincidence" We brought them a perfectly functioning car, paid $1100 for a brake job, and now have a vehicle that needs a $2100 worth of work on the braking system. I truly hope Les Schwab changes their procedures and does't allow another family to drive off their lot and discover their brand new brakes don't work... read more

Have had a slow leak in my tire and was sick of filling it with air every few days. Took it to this Les Schwab on Lake City Way. As it was late in the day, thought I would need to schedule something for later in the week. But the guy at the desk said if I didn't mind waiting he'd be able to get this done in an hour or so. Sure enough, 58 minutes later, Mohamad came out with my keys and smile and said he removed a screw and patched the tire When I ask how much, he said to just come back when I needed brakes or other service, as there was no charge for this at all. I offered to give him a tip....and he said all he wanted was a handshake to make it even. Talk about making someone's day: This Les Schwab sure did that for me!! Asked very nicely if there was some kind of small discount for the trouble, was told 'they don't do that.' We just had a baby and as we loaded everything in our car at the hospital, we discovered we had a flat tire. A quick inspection revealed there was a big screw stuck in the tire. I called around and Les Schwab was the only place around that could get us in same-day. They estimated 2 hours but it only took 75 minutes. When I went to pay, there was no charge! Our tire light went on while driving by and the folks here were able to check our pressure and ended up resetting our sensor. It must have been part of the free air check so we were not charged. I came in on a Saturday morning to get my all season tires put back on after having winter tires on. I also requested a brake fluid flush and fill and brake inspection. They said they would have to schedule out the brakes, so I did. At 8:30 AM, they already had six cars ahead of me, so the wait for just the tires would be around 90 minutes till finish. Not a problem, so I started walking back home to wait. Before I got more than 5 minutes out the door, they called to say they could do the brakes today. So we did. I got a call back 89 minutes from the time I left, and they already had the tires and brakes done. Headed back and the final total was a few bucks less than $250. What's more is it feels like they did a proper flush and fill. The brake pedal feel responsive but not touchy, and it's not squishy. This means they didn't under or overfill, or get air in the lines. The final invoice also showed their remarks noting the condition of the front pads and rear shoes, giving me a good idea of budgeting for future pad and shoe replacements. They didn't try to sell me anything extra or unnecessary. Definitely worth $250 to not have to spend a weekend day doing it myself. read more

ONE BAD APPLE SPOILS THE WHOLE BARREL I have a strong suspicion that the man mentioned in Matteo's review last month (one of the descriptors he used was "cranky" among others) must have been the man who waited on me today. His shirt reads "Jim". I have always had exceptional service here and, as a result, have been coming here for years. However, I won't be returning because of the way I was treated by Jim. Let me back up three days. I noticed that a tire was leaking, so I rolled in midday on Thursday. A woman with exuberantly colored hair waited on me. She was great! She listened intently and politely told me that, unfortunately, they were already booked up for the day and to try again the next day. I was not surprised as this is a beloved business in the neighborhood, as attested to by all the positive comments on NextDoor. This particular Les Schwab is ALWAYS mentioned when someone asks for a referral to a tire shop. I arrived on Friday about ninety minutes after opening and, again, I was told they were completely booked for the day - a testament to their success and loyal customers. Saturday morning I arrived 10 minutes before their opening hour of 8 a.m. & got in line as the ninth person to arrive. When it was my turn I spoke with Jim, gave him my key and he told me it would be about a 2 hour wait & that he would text the number on file. I walked home and waited twice as long as I was told it would take, and my husband and I set out on foot. Jim was behind the counter when we arrived at noon. We were told my car was "next in line" and would be ready in 45 minutes. We walked to the central business district of Lake City and ran some errands, parting ways at a bus stop. I was expecting that the tire needed to be replaced, so I checked frequently for a text so as not to slow the process. At 1:32 I checked hubby's phone one last time for a text before he boarded the bus. There was nothing from Schwab. I headed south to the shop, arriving at 2p.m. I checked in with Jim, who told me I needed 2 new tires. He said he left a voice message. My husband is blind and his ringer is always off because he can't see who is calling him, so he doesn't answer his phone and just waits for the message. We were expecting a text, so hadn't checked the voice mails. Jim let me know nonverbally that he wasn't happy with me for not receiving his voice message (even though he specified text messages) I agreed to purchase the tires. Jim writes up the work order and I realize there is a fob in the console that I needed. I asked him if he minded getting it for me. "You want the car key?" I told him no, not the car key, and explained clearly and simply that there was a set of keys plus fob in the console between the two front seats. He returned from the bay and handed me my car key. Wha . . ? I sat down & realized I hadn't eaten yet, so I decided to walk somewhere. I realized husband was home with his phone & if I wanted a text (or voice message now that I knew he meant voice mail when he said text) I better give him my number. When I asked if I could give him my number, he actually stopped in mid-step and rolled his eyes. When he did this, I told him never mind, then, foregoing my meal, I sat down in the waiting room. When he wasn't busy, I approached him and quietly asked him if I had done something to annoy him. AITA? He denied being annoyed (although he was visibly annoyed.) I added, "You rolled your eyes at me." He denied doing so even though I was looking directly at his face when he did so. He then told me he didn't have to listen to me & walked out on me. A man named Levi, who must've had some training in customer service, took his place, listened to me, was courteous, polite and very apologetic and promised he would take care of my car himself, immediately. In a surprisingly short amount of time, my car was ready and my name was announced. A man named Daniel, who was equally courteous, polite and apologetic as Levi was, took my payment. I have to say, I felt like schmuck for spending $359.12 at a place where I was treated like I was a big pain in the a$$ to Jim. Do better, Jim. Matteo M - just curious - was your "cranky man" at the counter wearing a shirt with "Jim" embroidered on it? I don't like giving a good business with some really exceptional employees only one star, but my experience today has left a really bad taste in my mouth. read more

Just moved to town. Stopped in to create my account here for future work (loved my Schwab dealer in Martinez, CA.) Got air for my Tesla's tires within 5 mins of stopping. Received additional helpful information from the guy on how to temporarily patch tires in case of a flat since I do not have a spare. The counter guy took care of me efficiently and made sure I had the right chains for my tire size. Also informed me of some recent changes in mandatory chain requirements in the mountains.
