These guys "clean" the pool for our apartment building on Burbank Bl. in Encino. They're lazy and…read moremessy: 1) The pool guy just parks his pickup truck in the middle of our narrow parking lot so that it blocks cars from entering or exiting. 2) Since he doesn't have to walk far to his truck, he also uses the parking lot to dump ALL THE ALGAE AND CHLORINE he has collected! I've seen him dumping chlorine and banging his nets to get algae out and leave it in our parking lot. I just leased a new car and on the morning following that incident, gobs of chlorine and algae were stuck to my car. After he leaves, any cars that enter or exit will have their tires covered with algae and chlorine. 3) There is a garbage dumpster and a driveway with a channel for water -- only 20 ft. away, but I guess that's too far for him to walk. Our pool build took 3 months from start to finish (not including time to secure the permits) and was completed in time for us to enjoy it during the sizzling hot days of this past summer. Amazing! Artin came by often during construction to check on progress and make sure the job was getting done right and to his standards. He even discovered some minor issues that he took the initiative to get fixed, and of course took care of any concerns that we brought up as well. We also added an auto pool cover for safety reasons since we have young kids, plus a wifi connected system that lets us control the spa, pool temperature and LED lights using an app on our phones. Original review: They really don't care about client experience or quality of work anymore I was a customer of this company for a number of years and used to have a great experience with both Rick (for cleaning) and Javier (for repairs). Then, the company started cutting costs and hired a young guy with no experience to take over the cleaning. Suddenly, my service became haphazard--with pieces of my spa broken during service with no notice. When I would call later, they would deny that the new cleaner had broken the piece. Anyway, I had to finally quit their cleaning service when I came home after a cleaning to find dirt strewn all over my yard and concrete tiles stained through negligence. Enough. But I stayed with the repair service, because Javier was great, knew my spa and was always reliable. A couple months ago, I needed a repair and requested Javier specifically. They said he was in demand and it would take longer to book an appointment with him. Fine, I would wait happily. Finally, the day of the appointment, a new young guy showed up, shocking me since I'd been waiting for the person who knew my spa and who I trusted. But, to be open-minded, I let the young guy work on my spa. Mistake on my part, and I now regret it. He diagnosed it, got the part and came back to install it. So far so good. But after he left (without refilling or testing the spa) I realized my spa now was leaking. Turns out when he was installing the new part, he broke our custom drain system and didn't mention it. Just like the other young man. It's shocking really - to have a company culture where service folks think it's okay to simply not mention to you when they break a piece of your equipment. I called them back to diagnose, which they did, and said they'd call back with a "plan". But I didn't hear back from them. When I finally reached out to see what the plan was, they said they had pieces "on order" and they'd call back in 2-3 weeks. The pieces were pvc pipes and valves that can be purchased at any hardware store. No need to "bulk order" as I was told erroneously. I said forget it - we'd fix it ourselves, but could they at least discount the original repair to make it fair to me. They refused, and immediately charged my card the full amount. So, here I am, doing the only thing that a client can do in these days of declining accountability and lack of quality service: giving you a full report of what you can expect when interacting with this company. He cleaned my pool in a rush every time and it always seemed like a sloppy job. For one, the pool guy was always claiming that my gate was locked when it wasn't. My gate looks like it's actually locked but really isn't. The pool guy just sees and a lock and doesn't actually look at the gate from a close distance. It's happened multiple times and I felt like I shouldn't pay for a service that isn't being done. Second, the pool guy never communicates with me, I have a good amount of pool cleaning supplies and apparently he needed some stuff that I had and never told me but told Max (the owner) that I don't leave any of the supplies out for him. It got to the point where my pool turned green because the pool guy thought my gate was locked and skipped my service for an entire 2 weeks while I was gone on vacation. It took them over a week to get my pool water fixed. And lastly, I feel like I was being overcharged had I never said anything. There's a "one time fee" of 75 dollars once a year and every single invoice had that charge on it. If I never would of said anything he would be coming up on 75 extra every month. I called and asked him about this and Max claimed I never paid it when in reality I know I did cause I wrote him a check and have the copy! I honestly would not recommend "Max pool services" to anyone. During this entire process I started cleaning my own pool and watching videos so I feel confident and no longer need his services.
