I had a problem this year (for the first time ever) with my pool holding chlorine, where after 2 hours of shocking (Using Leslies Power Powder Plus, which they say is the best you can get), the water registered ZERO free and ZERO available chlorine. Leslies tested my water and all other readings (CYA, TA, CH, ETC) were fine. They tested for Nitrates (Something I had no idea about) and told me it was 30 ppm and I had to drain 3-4' of water from my pool to dilute the Nitrates. I mistakenly listened and did this, causing me to have to re add stabilizer and calcium hardness up (over $200 worth), at my expense, not to mention the expense of adding water. Shocked my pool again. ZERO Chlorine after 2 hours! They now suggested that I drain the entire pool and refill it. I THEN WENT TO CHEMEX in Smithtown for another opinion. The owner, Charlie, suggested I try his liquid chlorine before doing another thing. He said my pool calls for 2 1/2 gallons but "just use 2 gallons" at a cost of $10... Low and behold, My chlorine held for 15 hours already. The problem was that, in my opinion, Leslies chlorine that I was sold, is sub par. The water was fine. I do not blame the young kid who tested the water. I blame Leslies "training" and questionable "methods of operation". I highly recommend Chemex in Smthtown. The owner is an honest, straight shooter, his staff is competent and properly trained, and his ELECTRONIC water testing equipment appears to be far superior than what I have been subject to elsewhere. If you want honesty and a fair experience, look no further that CHEMEX , 400 W. Main St, Smithtown.

Mind you this was before 9 o'clock in the morning. When she asked how she could move it if it wasn't operating, his response was to put the car in neutral and push it. This so-called human has no idea what my daughter's physical health is, nor does he care! If that is the kind of so-called human, he is then perhaps you should think twice before doing Business with him.

I would highly recommend Premier Pools for your equipment purchases, chemicals and other items related to pool and spa care. They were even able to give me a part for my spa cover hanger that worked equally great. You can visit their store with your water sample and they will give you a print out of what chemicals you need to keep your pool and spa in top condition. Very satisfied with their outstanding service.

Warning to Anyone Considering Premier Pools & Spa (401 Broadway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776)…read more I strongly advise anyone to think twice before doing business with Premier Pools & Spa. I signed my contract on April 25, 2026, with the understanding that my pool project would be completed by the end of May. I paid the required $3,000 deposit, received invoices, and was given repeated assurances that the work would be completed on time. Instead, May came and went with little to no progress. June was the same, and now we are at the end of July with the project still unfinished. Rather than completing the work they agreed to, I have received two additional invoices totaling $4,500 for items that I believe should be standard as part of a new pool liner installation. What has made this experience even more frustrating is the complete lack of communication. My emails and attempts to address these concerns have gone unanswered, and no one has taken responsibility for the delays or the unexpected charges. In addition to the significant delay, my property has been left in unacceptable condition. My front yard looks like a construction site, with materials scattered across my lawn and even onto my neighbor's property, damaging her grass. There are also empty water bottles, trash, and debris left inside the pool and throughout the property. This is completely unprofessional and shows a lack of respect for both my home and my neighbors. The agreed-upon work included removal of the old liner and raising the pool, yet months later the project remains incomplete while the condition of my property continues to deteriorate. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Premier Pools & Spa. I hope they take responsibility for their work, improve their communication, and treat future customers with the professionalism they deserve.

Be forewarned - customer service is non-existant. Also, they commit to completing the certification with the town - but years later I came to find out they didn't do that either. They secured a builders permit, but the last step in the process for a CO is a final inspection - they never took care of that. What would have cost $100 at the time winds up costing over $1000 when you find out it wasn't done and you need to take care of it before selling your house. They always comment how nice the pool liner feels on their feet as opposed to gunite or cement. Over the years, I have required items to be repaired which was accomplished with pristine service. Most recently, I was offered an upgrade to my phone remote access. I seized the opportunity. I control all with the aiming Logic App. It also includes light shows, which was another upgrade. I have to admit, friends of mine with pools do not have the same bells and whistles on their pool as I have although paid many times more. The team of Patty, Steve and Mike are such a pleasure to deal with. I give them my highest recommendations. Before you make a final decision on your pool, call Steve. Btw, they set it up such that the maintenance is very simple or should I say almost maintenance free except for cleaning. Chemistry balance also very easy, as needed. It is a pleasure to wake up every morning and see my pool shining in the sun. They indeed "build pools right"

During the Pandemic, with time…read moreoff from work and everyone having a pool installed, i started to appreciate even more the great vinyl pool installed by Steve and Mike and company. I became a local expert in pools and quality products all learned from Bilt Rite. I remain extremely please with the highest quality equipment recommended to me which continues to allow me to be maintenance free. I do it all myself, except for opening and closing procedures. The quality of my neighbors' pools, although paying much more, was highly inferior and certainly not user friendly. I can control all from my phone, having installed an Aqua Pod and Modem. Sure beats going out every time to turn on heater or filter. As far as service is concerned, when something goes wrong, unrelated to the installation, they will definitely take care of it to perfection. I recently needed a "board" replaced. It was done with the utmost care and professionalism, coming back a second time to ensure it was fully operational. It was also followed up by the office to ensure all worked out perfectly well. There might be a rare occasion of an unsatisfied customer with customer service. I can only tell you that I have never experienced anything but the highest level of service and getting the job done always. Any issue related to pool function is always cared for promptly. If it can be done over the phone then it will be communicated in that manner, otherwise in person. I wish to highlight the main person in charge of customer service, Patty. Her responsibility is huge. She is in charge of keeping everyone on time with their opening and closing of pools, new construction schedule, rare issues with pools that need attention. She does it in the most professional manner. She answers all emails and phone calls in a very timely way and always get the job done. Just remember, when you show respect and professionalism, you will be treated back the same way, to your highest level of satisfaction. I would like to close by saying they know everything about vinyl pools. They have decades of experience. They do not do gunite pools and have therefore developed an expertise in Vinyl and its associated equipment. If you want your pool "Bilt Rite" then call Steve and Mike and Patty at Biltrite pools in Commack.
