I showed up at 5:50 (since they close at 6pm which is ridiculous) and the door was locked. Associate wouldn't open it or help. I've been 3 times and every time staff is not friendly or helpful. Just heads down on their computers. Great Escape in Oakbrook way better and more helpful. read more

If you're in need of pool supplies don't go to Leslie's in Lombard. Great Escape in Oak Brook is way more friendly and helpful but most of all so much cheaper. I found 25 pieces of pool liner coping online at Leslie pools. I found a package on their website, it was 25 pieces for $25 so I went to the store and the manager told me they didn't have the package that was on their website but they had individual pieces, I figured it would be about the same price but when he rang it up it was over $60! I said that's insane when it's only $25 on their website. I even brought it up on my phone and showed him and I asked if he would honor the website price and he laughed and said no. I left my other items on the counter and told him I will never be back, and he didn't care. I called Great Escape in Oak Brook and got amazing service and the price was only 75 cents each! The nice man even pulled all the pieces ahead of time before I got there. I'll be doing all my pool supply shopping at the Great Escape from now on. I was in search for pool sand to set up my new pump for my pool and I found the sand online at a reasonable price through Leslie's. Once I ordered it I checked for shipping and I got free shipping if I joined Leslie's perks so I did placed my order it was supposed to come in two days which would be perfect. However I kept getting notifications saying my order would be late and my credit card was charged an additional $30 for shipping. If they have specific policies, they should make it more clear on their website which they do not their website is very misleading and when you call for help, you don't get people who you can understand easily on the phone I will not buy from Leslie's again. read more

Do not order from this company this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced when you order an item and they tell you when it's going to be shipped the day you are supposed to receive it you will receive an email stating due to the pandemic they have no idea when they're going to be able to ship out your item then when you try to get a refund they will give you the runaround and say they can't get a response from their warehouse and as of now only a request to cancel your order they will not refund your money they will make you sit on hold and they're rude do not buy from here read more

I have been a 20 year customer at the Lombard store. We always got great, upbeat customer service and tried to buy what we could afford from them. Today changed all that. I will never go to that store again. I had the worst experience ever. The young lady that tested my water offered no problem solving advice. She acted like I was wasting her time. Attitude check! She didn't go through the test results, offered no solutions and when I asked about buying chlorine, she informed me that they only had $149.00 buckets. FYI, the gentleman that was ahead of me with the pool 5 times the size of mine, was offered a more economical solution to his problem and she got the bag of Baking Soda for him. I went to Menards, got what the chemicals the test results told me to do. My pool is improving already. read more

They do help you if you need it. Great place for me being new to pool upkeep. They carry just about everything you can want for your pool.

I've dealt with the Guys and Galls that work in Lombard for several years and they all have been most helpful and knowledgeable.

It took a month to get someone to come out to fix our Pool Heater, when the technician arrived he did not have any of his equipment so he couldn't even test it. Wanted to charge me for doing nothing and then when they called to make another appointment i asked if it would be fixed at this appointment and the guy on the phone said he didn't know. I understand that there is a shortage of items but there should be better communication. You can view and order items online and then if you call to check on that order you get a foreign country where the person has no idea about anything. If you drive over to the store they know nothing and tell you they have no information on internet orders plus they really don't have those products. Its a shame because I used to depend on them. read more

It is unfortunate that I have to write this review. I placed an order on 8/6 for a ColorQ pool test kit using the online order portal, and recieved a delivery date of 8/15. This is a reasonable estimate, and acceptable for a stocked item. However, by 8/9 there had been no tracking number supplied, and out of concern, I called the service number. First problem - the number was not staffed until 2 hours later than the posted time, and after repetitive calls, and fa 10-minute wait in queue, I finally spoke with a very pleasant representative who politely informed by that the order "was still within the ship window of 8/20". This was on the invoice sent to me, and was consistent with a product drop shipped from the vendor. This is so sad ... how does a company attain a reputation for being the preeminent pool supply store when t cannot accurately communicate that the item is not stocked, and will take longer to ship. The clerk asked me how I wanted to proceed, and so I said I wanted to expedite the order... and after a pause, she said she could not do that, explaining again that it was drop shipped from a vendor. This is unacceptable. Every order can be expedited, and as my Dad told me once: can't means don't want to. At this point I have no reason to believe that the order will ship in a reasonable timeframe, and had to go look for a substitute. I of course stopped at this Leslies. The great pity is that the store was no better stocked than the online store. I walked into an empty store, and a minute and a half later, the staff ran out to ask how they could help me, and when I asked about colorQ they at least knew that they didn't stock it. The alternatives they offered were anemic. They do have all the basic pool test chemicals, but none handle the range of the colorq, which I wanted specifically to handle the really hard and alkaline water coming from a well. I suppose Leslie's is a good choice for parts in a pinch, however, they can't deliver quickly, and they cant communicAte accurately. You would be far better serviced placing online orders from Amazon instead of Leslies, I suspect parts will come faster and be communicated far more accurately. So very disappointed. read more

I have used the Lombard location for several years. Joe, the manager, and his staff were at awesome and I would rate the store as 5 stars. I had a unpleasant surprise on my first visit of 2021 on 5/15. The store was a mess with boxes on the floor and the front desk. It was never this disorganized before. It appears that there is a new manager. There were no opening kits for pools at all, which never occurred when Joe was manager. It was nice to come into the store and to be welcomed by people that knew who I was and my pool. I also have a Leslie's account and when I asked about a filter I buy annually, the manager told me that their history doesn't go back that far. I gave him my phone, and it looks like my history disappeared. My receipt invites me to join Leslie's Rewards which leads me to believe that my account has been erased. I wasn't even asked if I am a member or if I want to join. I will be calling customer service to get my credit for my purchase and will also avoid this store in the future. I was always very happy with Leslie's and hope to find another store that can provide the service Joe and his team used to provide. read more

Ive never had cloudy pool water before.....Went in to have my pool water tested (went to a different place before going here). The young lady was very helpful and suggested dry acid and a clairifier. I bought both. Added them to the pool per the instructions I was given and look at that, the water is just about clear! The only thing that I regret is asking the young lady her name! Purchased a brand new pool heater from Leslie poole April 5th hoping to beat the rush for installation I was told by Brian the sales associate that my heater would be installed within a week now going on 8 weeks later and still getting a run around about a pool installation date I am very dissatisfied with their service I would Advise you to go to another company they really suck the 1st time this installation date with set that called me and told me the installer quit the 2nd time the installation guys showed up and told me he didn't have the right parts now waiting another additional 10 days we'll see if they show up hopefully being that i have already paid for the heater I will have to wait and wait. I would give them a 0 but that was not an option available. I have been a client of Leslie pool company for over 13 years worst service ever!!! read more
