Their prices are ridiculously high. you could save a lot of money buying from Amazon or at another pool store.

First of all I want to make sure the store itself is left out of this complaint. The manager DJ knows his stuff and is friendly and professional (this 1 star does not reflect on him nor his store. I am completely lost for words I am so disappointed with Leslie's service department. If it wasn't for my products being under warranty I would never work with this company. Over a month ago I requested a tech to come and fix two leaks, one From my heater and one from my filter. He fixed the heat but needed a part for the filter, so he went to the store and returned saying they didn't have it and he will need to order and return. HE NEVER RETURNED! My pool has not been running since he left. My pool was crystal clear when he came. I can no longer see the bottom, there are thousands of mosquitoes larva swimming all over my pool and mosquitoes flying all over the place. It is not safe for my children to play out in their own backyard. I've called corporate countless times with them telling me to give them 24-48 hours to call me back, I would never get a call back. Finally I get them to confirm an appointment and confirmed the tech had the part and was scheduled. Day of appointment tech was scheduled to arrive between 12:00-5:00 he showed up at 4:45. HE DIDNT HAVE THE PART!!!! He never ordered the part to begin with! I'm fed up. I decide to call the manager DJ at the store, and come to find out the store has a box full of the part I needed the whole time. So not only does corporate lie about what is really going on, but the techs don't do there job. When I complain about how I now have to spend money to get my pool clean again and that Leslie's should have to pay for it, all they tell me is they can't do that and to go to the store for help (so basically go spend more money at their store. 2 week Update... I have since changed my 1 star to a 2 star as management stepped up and owned up to their techs mistakes and will be giving him some proper training. They have also reimbursed me for the cost of chemicals to fix my pool. Let's hope no more mistakes like this happens to others. read more

I rarely write reviews but my experience here made me write one. Paid in full at the store for pool pump installation. Store didn't recommend site audit. This was the first red flag!.Tech came in 6 days later to install and added a couple of work items that increased my cost. During testing a leak was found at the pump but the tech had to leave with the leak ON since it was his end of day. Leslie's can only manage to reschedule a week later to fix the partial installation. Now I will be waiting with a leaky pump for over a week. Not recommending this business to any one. We just wanted to show our greatest appreciation to Joseph, the assistant manager at Leslie's Pool Supply in Mission Viejo. When our pool pump started failing to work, we called several places trying to see if we could get immediate assistance of diagnosis of pump failure and with repair/replacement as soon as possible. We are so thankful that Joseph was so pleasant and helpful that he helped booking an appointment for site evaluation service for us on the very next day. On top of that, immediately after the site evaluation/ diagnosis was done, Joseph helped us to order the pump and even has it installed on the following day. How efficient the service is from start diagnosis to replacement was completed in just two days since we called the Mission Viejo store asking for help. Wow oh wow boy oh boy am I glad that Leslie's is around. I called In because my pool had turned completely green and I needed it fixed before the week was up. I spoke to Kylie who sounded extremely professional and she sure seemed to know a lot about pools. Although I was not able to purchase anything this time around, she did let me know that I needed a filter clean. She also told me to run my pump more... who knew? I needed to purchase a new Pentair heater and also inquire about re-plastering and he took the time to go over so many details with me about the heater, the install, the price, and honored the Black Friday/ cyber Monday deal (around the holidays) and also applied the gas rebate. The whole transaction was easy and helpful and Covid safe-since I was able to do it over the phone. Buying products from the store is great. However Run as fast as you can away from their service department. We had Leslies come out to look at our spa heater and discovered a rat had chewed up the wiring. So after many texts (which we still have) with the service technician he told us the price and we said ok let's schedule. He then proceeded to say if we don't have the parts we may need to order them and this can take up to 2 weeks. No problem. After not hearing anything for 3 + weeks. Husband sent a follow up text and tried calling asking if the parts have come in. No response. Instead the technician closes our ticket and claims we were wobbly on the price. As I said we have text messages we were good with the price and wanted to get it scheduled. Got ahold of a supervisor and he stated that they will need to order the parts. (umm didn't you do that about a month ago? or was that a lie?) We have bought many products from Leslie's but after this experience, they have lost a customer. It really is unfortunate too. Update: Immediately after writing this review we received a call from Marco who wanted to make things right. He came out and fixed the heater right away and was very professional. Used Leslie's for years. Usually acceptable. I recently tried to get service on my Polaris Pool Sweep. After dropping the unit off a week earlier, I heard nothing. Stopped by the store to check and was told it had not been worked on. Was told by "DJ" that it could not be finished that day, and he could not provide an ETA. This is a 10 minute repair. No regard for the customer needs. Extremely disappointing. I ordered the part from Amazon and will fix it in minutes tomorrow. Wonder why brick and mortar is dying. Poor customer service. Disappointing. Won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Attentive Manager & Employees Not sure what the negative posts are all about because I have had nothing but excellent Service from the Leslie's Pool, Mission Viejo location. The Store Manager - Julie Johnson and John have always been professional and have gone the extra mile for me when I have called, or come into the store, about anything related to my pool. Including even getting back to me on her days off! I just recently bought a variable speed pump and misc. parts and had nothing but A+ service from Julie and the installer. Even better to be honest. Julie was very knowledgeable, listened to my questions, gave me excellent information in return and set up my installation after I decided which pump I wanted to go with. Again, nothing but professional all the way around. So, from my perspective, do your research before going to any place of business, then ask the right questions, listen to the informed answers, and Leslie's Pool will be an excellent partner to help you with your needs for your pool. read more

Clueless staff. I ordered a part for a pool filter, which was to take three days for delivery. Went in a week later to a very long wait, and went through three employees who couldn't find the order. Finally they discovered it hadn't come in yet. Went in two weeks later, another very long wait, and again they could not find the order, which had been prepaid. They said they had the part in stock, but no record of my purchase. I called the next day, to talk to the employee who took my order. Kept me on hold for 10 minutes. I hung up. Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. I will buy it again... somewhere else. read more

Julie Johnson, the store manager, at Mission Viejo store is the main reason I will not be coming back to this store or any Leslie's Pool Supply store. She was very unprofessional when attending to me. She was agitated and short with me when I would ask her a question. She would also raise her voice and aggressively confront me while other customers are around, which is embarrassing for both me and the company she represents. I found Julie very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I decided to go with Pentair because it's one of the best, and Leslie's store in MV because of Julie. She gave me very competitive pricing, coordinated with the fantastic field tech Mario, and stayed in touch throughout the installation process. My husband always shops at this store because he is a DIY'er. He was trying to locate a small part for our pool Vacmate: a skimmer insert that does both skimming and connects to a pool cleaner. Every online service wanted an arm and a leg for part. My husband walked in and Julie spent quite a bit of her time and energy locating the part at an adjacent store and saved us a considerable amount of money. Have been a weekly customer here for a couple of years. Very friendly service. A fine place for most of your pool needs. Free water testing is a huge help. Some items a bit pricey and no in store returns on most purchases but all in all an excellent place to get what you need to keep your pool safe and clean. I walked into this store for the first time ever and not even 2 minutes later I walked out because of what horrible customer service they had, I had a few questions about a product and the store manager, whose name is KEVIN, was very short and rude with responding to my first question and the second question I asked he just raised his arms in the air and looked at me. If I'm going into a store especially for pools, I expect my questions to be answered and to at least be respected as a customer. First this is NOT regarding the store itself. This is regarding the service dept. I have been around pools for 50 years. I started with my dad helping him take care of our pool when i was only 9 years old . I grew up taking care of our pools we had at 12 different homes as I grew up . Even as I got older I rented homes with pools. Then I bought the home I am in now. Which has a pool . I started going to this store in M.V. In 1993. I always had good luck . UNTIL this arrogant, Lying. Fraud of a service man named Elvis, came to my home. This guy was rude and just wanted to sell whatever he could . We did NOT need anything he was selling. He was supposed top just come to see if a certain pump would fit. Instead, He wanted my wife I guess to know he was "the man". Instead she thought he was a rude egotistical P.O.S. he wanted to let her know everything we did wrong. He got on the phone with me and did the same thing. Telling us we needed to back wash the pool after swimming in it each time, telling us that our pump was fine. when that wasn't why he was there. Our pool pump was working fine. However, this arrogant P.O.S. I guess doesn't know the difference between a pump "working fine" and NOT PROVIDING ENOUGH CIRCULATION ! He wanted to argue over everything, He made my wife feel very uncomfortable. This guy is CLEARLY a scammer, and fraud. I would strongly advise ANYONE if this guy comes to your home ask him to leave immediately. I would put his picture up in this review but it wont allow it. However, You can see it on Rip off report.com and scam alert. I am posting a more in detail review on those site with his picture. He had a mask on when he came but not when he left and he turned around so I have a picture of him . I also have all his lies and unprofessional conduct from my security cameras with sound. The Mission Viejo store is a great asset to Leslie's Pools. All the staff are friendly, helpful and informative but John is absolutely the best. He has provided me guidance on several problems I've run across and after assessing gives me clear advice and goes above and beyond. I live closer to another store but as long as John (and the others) are around I'll be returning for testing, supplies and advice. Get job John! read more

John and Mike are very knowledgeable and will take the time to help you get your pool back on track. They analyzed my pool water sample and gave me a printed report and advice on what steps to take. I will definitely be back for more great advice and free water testing. As a new pool owner they make it simple to keep up with all the maintenance that come with a pool. read more

Worst customer service ever! I wanted to return some chemicals - just purchased two days ago, not opened - and was told they do not take back chemicals. These were for a neighbor (94) who found his green pool wasn't a chemical problem, it was equipment failure. I am okay with their "no return" policy, it was the delivery of their policy - "READ THE SIGN" said the owner as he pointed up to their policy, while Julie shouted across the store "LOOK AT THE BACK OF YOUR RECEIPT FOR OUR POLICY". Since I don't have a pool, they said to sell them on the internet. Anyone need $190 of pool chemicals? read more
