I visited this store for the first time on 6/27/2026 and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When I walked in, two employees were standing at the registers talking with each other. Neither acknowledged me, paused their conversation, or even looked up as I entered. I brushed it off at first, assuming they were simply caught up in what they were discussing. I couldn't find the door handle I needed, so I approached one of the employees at the register. He said he would call someone to meet me in the aisle. I returned to the aisle and an older employee walked right past me, made eye contact, and said nothing. When he came back, he looked at me and said only, "Yeah?" in a dismissive tone. I showed him the handle and asked whether it was available or could be ordered. He replied, "It's a special handle, we don't have it," and immediately walked away. The lack of basic courtesy, acknowledgment, or willingness to help was surprising and disheartening. I left feeling unwelcome and judged. I don't like assuming the worst, but the way I was treated -- while wearing a bright pink polo and presenting as an openly gay man -- felt pointed. Whether intentional or not, it was hurtful. Customers deserve respect, professionalism, and at minimum, simple acknowledgment. This experience fell far short of that. Shame on them for allowing this kind of treatment. read more

I've always been a fan of Ace Hardware, preferring it over the big chains as their stores are smaller and things are easier to find. Unfortunately over the past few years two locations I frequented closed down. I just recently found out this location is not far from me so went to check it out. I was surprised how well stocked it was. It seemed they had just about everything a do-it-yourselfer would want . Electrical, nuts & bolts, tools, automotive, cleaning supplies, plumbing, gardening, etc. I was greeted by an employee when I walked in and was asked by another if I needed help. I was primarily just scoping out the place and making mental note of their stock but then remembered I needed a few things. I don't think I ever leave a hardware store without getting something. I purchased a couple items for my barbecue grill - they have a lot of supplies for grilling including the grills. This is definitely a solid hardware store whose size isn't overwhelming and yet you'll likely find whatever you are looking for. read more

What an amazing place. They have items you won't find elsewhere and specialty hardware. I stopped in to get a propane exchange tank, and the customer service staff member was ready before I even got in the store. The clerk checked me out, and I had my receipt and new tank in 7 minutes flat. Great value and amazing customer service. You won't get that at Lowe's or Home Depot. Highly recommended read more

Decent sized hardware store that has just about everything I need around the home. The benefit of it being a smaller store is when you need assistance the turnaround time to finding an employee in your aisle ready to help is significantly less than you would experience in a Home Depot or Lowes. In the past I have had to return a couple of parts that were either smaller or larger than I needed ans everytime I had no challenge in doing so. I definitely recommend people check out their local hardware store where you get better individual customer service vs. A super store where one can feel like just a number read more

As this Ace Hardware store did not have a specific product in stock (Natria Weed Killer - 1-gallon premixed), I called the store and asked if they could get it (the product is shown available on their website for online orders but not deliverable to my address(?)). I was told that they (the store can get it....and Tammy took my request. She checked and then said that they would definitely be able to get it by Friday (today). She said that they would have my order no later than Friday afternoon. At 3:30pm today, I drove 10 miles to go pick it up. When I arrived, no one could find the specific product ordered specifically for me. Very irritated, I purchased another, less-desirable product and drove back home (10 miles). Upon arriving home, I got a call from the store, saying that they, in fact, did receive it. Being not interested in fighting the traffic going back, I decided not to do so. Needless to say, I forever deleted Denault's Ace Hardware as my choice for hardware or any other supplies. This was my 2nd very bad experience with Denault's Ace Hardware. No mas!!! Home Depot or Lowe's is a much better, MORE RELIABLE source of product. read more

Helpful hardware folks??? ABSOLUTELY! Most of the Ace Hardware Stores near me have closed since Covid so I decided to drive an extra 15 minutes to Denault's Ace Hardware in Mission Viejo. IT WAS WORTH THE DRIVE. I had simply blown a fuse in 2 strands of Christmas lights. I tried and tried but couldn't seem to replace the fuses myself. There were two gentlemen (both named Joe)at the at the back counter, and later a third gentleman jumped in to help. They had a tough time getting the fuse out as well, but eventually they were able to do it. I felt terrible that I had gone into a store and took up 20 minutes of time from 3 employees for no sale. I felt like I at least should tip them or something. They were so helpful. You can be sure I will be going back to Denault's Ace Hardware from now on. I would give them six stars if I could. read more

The employees here are ready to help and are very friendly. Joe helped me find a creative match for the piñata stick I am creating for my 9 year olds birthday party. He showed me a few options and came to the conclusion that a bamboo stick would be the best fit. I completely agree and may have overlooked this option without his help. He also cut it for me and sanded it down on the edge so that it's safe. I really appreciate the help I received today and will definitely keep coming to this location. read more

Great service, great location, hope they expand hours when business picks up again. Inventory is hit or miss occasionally but definitely a go-to store and complements the big box stores in terms of useful around-the-house items. I prefer the camaraderie and smaller shop feel. I tried hard to like this store but had enough when today I tried to use an Ace Hardware coupon and they wouldn't accept it. Turns out, this particular Ace Hardware wants to be called Ace but doesn't want to accept any actual Ace coupons. I also found out they don't offer senior or military discounts, neither of which I belong to, but come on? I wanted to support a "local" store but when they make decisions that apparently increase their profits but don't offer anything back to the community then I'll just take my business to the big box store where they have more of a selection, better prices, and more likely to have items in stock. Owners: I hope you enjoy the $10 you got today when you didn't accept my coupon because you won't be getting any more money from me. Make up your mind: either be an Ace Hardware or not. read more

This particular Ace hardware has very friendly staff. A couple of the older guys who work here are quite knowledgeable and go out of their way to help customers. Although on some items Ace might be priced slightly higher than Lowes or Home Depot..I will in the future always go to this Ace first just due to the fact that I will save time here and time means money. read more

I absolutely love Denaults Ace Hardware. It's convenient for me to come here because I live so close. But what I really love about the store is the customer service and the knowledge all of the employees have. I recently bought drawer pull handles online and the screws that came with them were too short for my drawers. I went to Home Depot because I had a huge purchase I had to make over there and the guy could not help me figure out what size screw I needed even though I had the handle and screw with me. He kind of gave up and said I don't know. I was very annoyed. So I stopped at Ace. I asked a gentleman named Ken where the screw aisle is. He not only told me, he walked me down there. Then he proceeded to help me thoroughly. We tested out different screws and different lengths and he helped me figure it out. He found the perfect one I needed. He was so helpful and so knowledgeable and so cheery it was very nice. It was such a good experience that even though Ace is a bit more expensive than Home Depot, it's worth the price. Plus the great thing about this store is that they have a lot of other types of stuff like giftware and different odds and ends and you can find some really great buys. DeNault's is a great hardware store with helpful experienced and readily available staff. They have all that stuff that is unique to our area in parts (1970's and 80's Orange County track houses), which is not typically available at the big box hardware stores. read more

Claire was very helpful. I called looking for a specific Yeti cooler and she took the time to search and see it they had it. I was going to do buy online and pick up in store since I needed it today but the website wouldn't let me so I wanted to make sure they had it in stock before I drove there. They had one left so she put it on hold for me. They also honored the special online price which was really awesome of them! I really appreciated that. Because of the great service I received I will come back here the next time I need yeti products (which is often because all the men in my family love them). After several dead end and frustrating attempts to get 80 hinges at 4 big box home improvement stores, I stopped by Denault's in Mission Viejo. Cammy jumped in, called 3 of their other stores since they did not have enough and had them brought to the Mission Viejo the next day. She even called me twice with updates. When I picked them up, Cammy went through each one individually to make sure they all matched. I was blown away that someone would take the time and care about my satisfaction that much. I needed a gallon of color-matched paint, but being in a high-risk category for covid, did not want to go into a store to buy it. So I called DeNault's and was pleasantly surprised to hear that they were willing to serve me outside the store. When I went there, they served me very quickly and courteously, and accepted my Ace Hardware gift card, which was not specifically for DeNault's, as payment. Try doing this at Home Depot or Lowe's. I'm always amazed with Denault's. I don't know why but I always go to home depot or other large store first. When they don't have it I remember to check out Denault's and darn there it is! They have EVERY THING! The shopping experience is always excellent with friendly and helpful staff. Looking for butane, BAM they got it. Looking for a torch lighter? BAM again, they got it. Any size screw, they'll have it! They're the best and you feel like you've been to a small town hardware store. All that's missing is a checker board and two chairs next to the fire place. read more
