Jeremy just spent over an hour with me completely disassembling/reassembling my Zodiac MX8 Elite pool vacuum which had algae trapped in the bottom clear plastic housing. Was taking my water test to this location, turn over to high last visit suggestion given cost me $100 and end result after testing at another location adding salt was not needed but Val Vista told me 3 bags now I have to drain my salt pool 11k gallons to fix a over salt. Should have trusted my gut. power location said they should have not suggested salt that is was enough in range for summer so 10 hour drain and $100 down the toilet. Very disappointed with Leslie's Pool Supplies Pro, I've been doing business at this place for the last 5 years. Today, I came in to purchase a 55 lbs Crystal Care Pro Jumbo Tabs, I was told I couldn't purchase them anymore because I'm not a Pool Care Business and that these tabs will no longer be sold to consumers. Unfortunately, the Leslie's 3" Jumbo Tabs are poor quality and not as strong as the Crystal Care Pro Jumbo Tabs, I know this because they were out last time and I had to purchase the Leslie's brand. The Leslie's brand for chlorine tabs are crap... 60% of my tabs were broken (see pic). Overall what made me upset with Leslie's Pool Supplies Pro at this location, it had a huge supply of the Crystal Care Pro Jumbo Tabs on their floor. I've been buying this product for years and now I can't. I will no longer be doing business with Leslie's anymore. read more

Went in for the first time and had my water tested. Manager Joe Waymire behind the desk was not very friendly upon me entering the store. I showed him the kit I have been using. He tried to sell me test strips instead. I told him I like using the drip version instead. He ended up selling me the reagent drip that does NOT WORK with my test kit I showed him! Then he tried to sell me $200 in a chemical package. Gave off bad karma almost like a car salesman. Went home and tested the water. The chlorine side turned pink. Kit required a yellow color. Called Joe back and told him I would like to return the item. He refused and said since I used 5 mini drops he wouldn't be able to help me. So over $6 he lost a customer for life. What a fool. Wife called back and he ended up hanging up on her! I will never go to any Leslie's again! Yikes! read more

OK, while they come across knowledgeable, whatever you do, do NOT call for a quote or possibly service. I called the Pro shop and asked if they had service personnel to provide a quote to replace my pool filter. Sure, we can set that up... yeah, how about an estimated estimate charge of $55, plus a service trip fee of $45. WT$, are you kidding me? Estimates/quotes by anyone else is FREE! I have used this Leslie Pro at 4844 S Val Vista Dr Ste A-101, Gilbert, Az 85298 for a few years as it is close to my home. And though I have had help with pool issues and have purchased my chemicals from there, recently Mike took over as store manager and he has been exceptionally generous with his time and his knowledge. He has a great way about him, and he genuinely wants to problem solve. My pool was not in great shape, and he guided me in getting it back in good condition. Also, I had an issue with my water feature which he solved at no additional cost to me. There are plenty of places to buy chemicals and pool supplies, but if you want help, this is a great place especially if Mike is around to help. read more

Over priced. When I had them test my chemicals the week before 80% that because I bought there product a few days that. Went back the next week 60% did not by product. The next week 50% want me to spend more on there product. Went to the next place. They tested my water. Told me that I perfect and nothing is needed. Showed them my paperwork and they laughed at it. Stating wow. They just want your money. Also they prices to amazon are 3 to 4 times more for the same product. read more

Ever since Leslie's bought out this store, all they care about is up selling you chemical that you do not need. I no longer recommend this place. During my most recent episode with them, I went in for a water test and mentioned we had some yellow algae. Water test came back fine but since I mentioned the algae he sold me Yellow Out and told me how to treat it and then to come back and retest after. Came back after using the Yellow Out and now my phosphate levels were "through the roof", which now he tells me can be caused partially by the yellow out. The only way to get the phosphates back down to acceptable levels is to either drain the pool (which he stated I "can't" do right now because it's too hot and the pebble tech will crack) or treat the pool with PhosFree... 2 $35 gallons of PhosFree. I have used PhosFree before and was reluctant to use it again because it spiked your pool pump pressure and requires you to clean your filters again and again until the pressure goes down. The sales guy insisted the phosphates MUST come down or else my chlorine levels would never be able to be maintained/ I'd go through way more chlorine. When I got home, I researched this more and found that low phosphate levels really aren't the end all be all to a maintained pool. The whole Leslie's business model is to sell you chemical you really don't need and convince you it is the only way to maintain your pool correctly. Acid, chlorine and the occasional algacide should do the trick just fine. Don't buy into Leslie's. The sales guy also conveniently forgot to mention no returns on unopened chemical when I asked if I could return the PhosFree if we drained the pool instead (when he started telling me I couldn't drain right now because it's too hot). read more

Great store, tired of going to Leslie's where everything is overpriced and high pressure sales people. These guys tell you what's up and give you the cheapest option. They price matched my cartridges $100 less than what Leslie's was charging. Recently my in floor cleaning valve broke, Leslie's $232, NPS-169 (price match). It's 3 miles farther away from my house but worth this place has already saved me a few hundred bucks and they don't annoy me when I walk in the door....... read more

These guys are a little better than the other location off of Chandler and Gilbert. Fairly quick when conversing with customers. At one point they could not test water due to the computer being down and I also notice that their test are not the same like the other locations. This location use to be a NSP before it was converted to a Leslies. Funny thing is the same guys work there. read more

We just had a pool put in our back yard. After experiencing bad pool service from a particular company, we decided to take it into our own hands and do our pool cleaning ourselves. We went to Leslie's Pool Supply and they have been so helpful with us. We take our water into them weekly and have them do an analysis for us, to tell us what we need to add for chemicals and so forth. Mike, Alec and Devon are so respectful and they help out so much. They don't try to sell you the store and tell you what you need to add to your pool and how much. It's worth the time and money savings to do this, as opposed to having a pool company do this. The pool company we were dealing with wanted $95.00 a month. I actually watched them drive by our house one day that they were supposed to do a service, without stopping. Another time they just left a chlorine tablet on our fence, without even knocking on our door, to see if we were home. Take it from us, do it yourself, save your money from a pool company. I used to go to Leslie's because it was on the corner I will now be driving ten minutes our of my way to go here. They have the greatest customer service with knowledgeable employees who will take the time to help you not only fix your pool problems but understand your pool problems. My family and I will be moving out of the South Chandler area. This might sound funny, but one of the things I am going to miss most about the area is my local NPS store. Nels from the NPS store on Val Vista in Queen Creek has been saving me money for years. He's basically just about taught me everything I know about pools. This NPS store is an awesome awesome place! Mostly because of Nels...for me anyway. When I walk into the store and see that he's working my confidence to get my issue fixed immediately skyrockets. Bummer that we're moving, but if you're reading this and need assistance with your pool....do not go anywhere else but NPS. read more

I purchased my house in October 2011 and had Shasta pools install my pool and filter system. Recently, my o-ring for my filter cartridge tank snapped and I started the process of trying to find a replacement. My house is located directly across the street from Leslie's and I have used them in the past for all my previous pool needs, so easy choice, I contacted them. They directed me to 2 different Leslie's who supposedly had the o-ring I needed. That however, was not the case. I then contacted Shasta Pools themselves. Needless to say, their customer service is the ABSOLUTE WORST I have ever dealt with!! Every single person I spoke with had an immediate attitude as soon as they answered their phones. After 3 weeks of making absolutely ZERO progress, we stumbled upon NPS Pool and Supply off of Val Vista and Queen Creek. We were greeted by a guy named Mike, who had an AWESOME personality and some of THE BEST customer service skills, which is pretty hard to find these days. Mike went ABOVE AND BEYOND with helping us with our situation and within minutes found the part we needed. I would HIGHLY recommend NPS Pool and Supply for anyone with pool or spa needs!! read more

I used to drive an extra couple miles to buy my chemicals and supplies at this "NPS" store at a fair price ($10 to $20 cheaper than Leslies.) The guys were extremely helpful. Used to get monthly ads in the mail with great prices on things I needed (and not needed so much but I bought anyway). I was shocked when I needed a few things a couple weeks ago and found out Leslies has bought out these stores. Good for Leslies business...BAD for consumers. I understand a business needs to make money, but Leslies is gouging consumers and their coupons are crap! I only had to buy a few things I needed that day. The rest can wait while I shop around...even if I have to mail order. read more

Very overpriced. I thought I was going to NPS and ended up at Leslie's. The pool brush that I wanted to purchase had 2 stickers on it for $6.95. When I got to the register I was not helped for 15 minutes even though there was only one person in front of me and 3 people behind the counter doing nothing. They said the credit card machine was down and would only accept cash. The pool brush I chose rang up for over $10 even though it was marked as $6.95. I was told that children must have moved stickers from another item onto the brush. I feel like I was being purposefully overcharged so that the guy could pocket the extra money. I decided not to buy anything after the long wait. I ended up going to Home Depot and found a much nicer pool brush for a cheaper price! I will not come back to this store and I can't comprehend why anyone would want to spend MORE money here for inferior products compared to other stores. read more
