Cannot believe James is a business owner for the way he speaks to customers. This company does not return phone calls. They don't show up and then have the nerve to tell you they did when I have cameras around my home proving otherwise. They even tried billing me for extra weeks of service. I know two other families who have also recently fired them for also not showing up. James uses threatening and aggressive language and am just shocked he runs a business this way. Stay far away from this company! **After reading the response to my review, it's consistent with other's review comments. Instead of trying to correct service and billing issues, James gets highly defensive and goes on personal attacks on people leaving reviews. Extremely poor representation of any business. To add prof to the billing issue, I'm sharing a photo of an email showing I'd been set up on Thursday's from the beginning, although Thursday service rarely happened. read more

Texting while driving, almost running into me (with me being the only other driver on the 3 lane road), all while they have a passenger that could be doing it instead. Both pictures were safely taken at stop light after they'd been texting while driving in the lane next to me for the past couple minutes after they turned on a red. Doctor Pool has internal issues with their billing system. You either don't get billed for several months , and then get a large bill for missed months all at once. Hard if you are on a budget. The pool cleaner who is assigned to your property changes all the time. I found my assigned route guy lied about completing repairs that had not been done and also skipped service days. I requested a change of pool cleaner and the owner ignored my request. I ended up cancelling my service with them, I was a loyal customer for 5 years. Its very sad how this company has declined in the last few years and shame on me for staying with them too long . read more

Received a promo for a free month of service from our pool builder. Two stars are for the fact the pool was cleaned well every week and whenever I had a question it was answered in a timely manner. There are several small reasons we canceled but the biggest reason were the chemicals and lack of communication about them. During our free month, we had no access to any online portals to tell us anything about our service, and no one emailed to give any info either. If we weren't currently housebound because of the pandemic, we would never know anyone had even been here. The pool looked clean and the guy did a great job cleaning it so we went with it. Yes, I was leery but I thought it was just me being paranoid about having a brand new pool. When our free month was up, I went ahead and signed up with them because I didn't want the hassle of finding a new company. I should have gone with my gut and found someone else. I was sent a link to sign up for a portal. Why wasn't I given this information when service started? A few days ago, we were swimming and everyone started complaining that their eyes were burning. I did some checking and discovered our chlorinator had been turned way up and there were chlorine tabs in our skimmer (we have a saltwater pool). I tested the water with our test strips and both the pH and free chlorine were the highest readings. I logged in to the portal to see what was done recently and why, only to find that just the first two out of a total of four weeks of service was logged. I logged back in yesterday to see if it had been updated after our latest service and nope! We're now 5 weeks in and still only the first 2 weeks worth of readings had been logged. Where are the most recent 3 weeks? We've consistently had high pH readings on our strips and when I contacted Doctor Pool, the answers I got were: 1) it's ok just rinse off when you get out, 2) it could be that the new surface is leaching into the water creating a high reading, and 3) my test strips show your levels are good. The new company we hired came out today and said our levels were too high, our chlorinator was set too high, and they had to adjust everything. They also said that the levels we were at would damage our equipment. Not a great start to a brand new pool. Needless to say, we canceled service and waiting for a refund. read more

If they had no star rating that is what I would have given this company. This pool company was refered by a good friend. They did not come out to see my pool they asked for photos. I sent them the requested photos and what I got back was a sales pitch. Based on my photos they decided my pool pump had run dry !!!! My pool pump is working just fine ! In order for me to become a client I would need to buy a new pool pump, filter, and cleaner at a cost of $7,000.. Basically I must buy all new equipment from them in order for me to hire them to clean my pool !!!! I just wanted someone to come clean my pool and check the chemistry for me not sell me new equipment! read more

Excellent company!!!! I use them for all the homes I manage throughout the Valley including my own pool. they do an outstanding job all my pools runs smoothly clean they stay on top of everything! I also just replaced all my pool equipment with a variable speed pump which Doctorpool recommended and that was the best decision I ever made. My electric bill is a third of what it used to be. We have had such amazing service from Doctor Pool, after having experienced nightmare service from 3 other companies here in town. Fabian, our pool guy, is over the top fabulous, can't imagine anyone else doing a better job! Bill and James at the office are super friendly and able to solve any and every issue I come up with, from paying my bill to being very specific with my service day and times, etc. I could not be happier with their service and I would recommend them to anyone looking for pool service, you won't be sorry! read more

I'm a new client of the company, was having issues with my pump and they were out the next day to get it replaced at a very competitive price. After the pump was installed I was having issues with my vacuum and the owner of the company was very attentive to me at 9:30 PM on a Friday night. He then called me Saturday morning to check in to see if there was any progress. He gave me some suggestions, I followed them. Now my pool runs perfectly. Great service at an awesome price! I have gone through several pool companies in the past. For the last 3 years these guys have taken care of all my pools needs. They don't try to sell me unnecessary repairs or nickel and dime me over chemicals. They replaced my old pump with a new variable speed motor and the guy that installed it took the time to show me how it works, did the math to make sure my water was getting completely filtered in the time the pump runs. I saved a noticeable amount on my power bill over the summer! read more

This company has the most incompetent office staff I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I want to say I have never given a bad review on yelp nor did I ever think I would but Brittany the office manager left me with no choice as I asked her multiple times to speak to someone above her and I guess she is above everyone working there as her response was "Im the office manager." So this I write this in hopes her boss will read it and find out who he has representing his/her business. She has a total lack of respect and a bad attidue to match. I have been with Doctor Pool since 2002. I totally agree with the first review. The first years were great and I had so much trust but in the past year the service has gone down hill! The tech doesn't show up for the weekly service and then when I call they first tell me he has been there but after arguing with them for 5 minutes they find out he wasn't! Then I have to call someone else to try to get the money refunded for the week. This has happened to me 3 times in the past 6 months and a friend who also uses them has dealt with it 2 times in the past 6 months. I am looking for a new company to switch to. I was in the market for a pool heater. I talked with the staff and they helped me decide on the type and brand for my needs. I told them that I would really like it installed and heating so we could swim on Christmas. Two days later the pool heat pump was in my back yard. Install went smooth and we were able to swim in 85 degree water on Christmas. The day after Christmas I got a phone call to make sure everything was the way I wanted it. They have great customer service and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Poor communication between the office dispatcher and their technicians. They charged me a $20 late fee on an invoice that I never received.

I worked with this company for 2.5 years from 2011-2014. First two years were fine, tech was good. Starting mid 2013 they either changed all their staff or standards as my new tech Ryan, on more than one occasion did not come to perform the weekly cleaning, didn't provide any cancellation notice or communication that he would not be coming. After alerting the office of this unacceptable practice they had excuses, no solutions. The bad service continued. When this same tech suggested that I have my pool drained and acid washed for the cost of approx. $600 to empty, clean, treat and refill, I didn't know that I could depend on his level of talent or expertise to proceed, so got three other companies to consult - not one company recommended this service. Shortly after they scheduled a repair on my equipment to dig up, repair and replace a part to my pool that I didn't even own, because the new tech they sent me put my address on someone else's property work order. They only discovered it after they showed up to do the work and it was incorrect work order address and property. I contacted the company; they did not return my call. I ended my relationship at this point. I wrote them a letter and explained in detail the problems. They did not reply or offer any resolution. They did not return my property key or refund my monthly service prepayment. I waited three weeks, contacted them via email again. More excuses, but finally sent the key and $$. Be warned, they are not trustworthy, honest, dependable, capable or responsive. I think everyone deserves to know the truth about companies that do not meet standard expectations. read more

First I want to say my pool guy is awesome and thats the only reason we stay with this company and why i gave it 2 stars. Our pool needed a few repairs a few months ago and our pool guy told Brittany who is incharge of the office she did not contact us or return my messages for weeks when I finally got ahold of her she was rude and disrespectful when I asked why i havent gotten a call back trying to check to see if they had tge correct number she said and i quote "your not the only customer i have" she then quoted an outragous price for the work so we called and had another company do the work at 1/3 the price and i called back recently and got a different girl named kim so I asked for a quote on the same exact work out of curiosity and she quoted me a way lower price than Brittany so i dont know if she gets commission or she just didnt want to do the work setting it up but she lost that sale for the compamy. I have 2 close friends who use doctor pool and they all say the same thing Brittany should be fired as she is losing money for company. read more

I have to agree with previous reviewer about Ryan, am not a fan. I know he did not show a couple of weeks. My pool tuned green because of his neglect. However, I contacted company and spoke to Brittany. She was very helpful. Gave me credit for service those two weeks and did not charge for chemicals needed to fix my pool. Brittany also sent a different tech to take care of pool. Wes has been my pool tech for a few months now, and my pool looks great! He spotted that my pool pump was not working correctly and suggested a new pump motor. After talking with Brittany, I had motor replaced. Wes was correct my cleaner works great now. I can't thank Brittany and Wes enough. Thank you both for outstanding service! I only gave 4 stars to company, because of Ryan. If he had done his job, I would have given 5 stars. If you call company for service, talk to Brittany, and ask for Wes as tech. You will not be disappointed. read more
