My visit at skidoe's Café & Grill was a great visit. I went with two friends and we all enjoyed the food. I ordered a combo that included pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, turkey sausage and grits. When I receive my plate, my eggs had the shredded cheese on top of my eggs and it wasn't cooked inside with the eggs. The food was seasoned to perfection. I didn't have to add salt. It was very tasty and flavorful. It reminded me of my grandmother's kitchen. My two friends ordered a skillet and the other had a combo. They both said that the food was great. The servers were pleasant. I would recommend that the bathrooms are cleaned throughout the day. We went in the morning around 10:30am and the bathroom was dirty. I would also recommend the restaurant getting better menus. The menus they had were written on and they were on paper so more professional menus would be a better alternative for the restaurant. Batter done right - fried okra was amazing! My friend devoured his wings as well. My vegetarian burrito was delicious and filling. She was able to swap out a few things for me as well. So friendly! I ended up ordering a steak to go. Everything from sauces to side dishes are done with care. Prices are great and the service was exceptional. I was so happy to see the Open sign, I rushed in there ordered the Chicken & Waffles with a side of Bacon. Rushed home to eat & was pissed TF off immediately!!! My chicken was not done at all. I decided to try this spot out for lunch. Walking through the door, the place is not very clean. I don't remember anyone greeting us or offering to explain the menu. The woman at the cashier didn't talk much at all. There was one person waiting before. I ordered grilled chicken, macaroni, and yams. My friend ordered chicken wings and fries. We ordered at about 1:20 and received our food around 1:50. The food was warm. The macaroni and corn muffin was the most decent out of everything. The chicken breast as well as the chicken wings had no seasoning at all, despite them even sprinkling lemon pepper on the wings. The yams came in a sweet syrup. I feel like I need to give this place another try. Maybe try the jerk that everyone else seems to rave about, until then I'll leave this review as is. read more

They operate under "Big Ace Cafe & Grill" on Uber eats. I ordered breakfast from them and it was disgusting!! The corned beef hash was missing. The french toast was stale, like it was reheated/re-used from another order. There was tomato and onion stuck to the bottom of my French toast also, which further leads me to believe it either came off of someone else's plate or their kitchen is filthy. I ordered breakfast with my family. We had a large order. It was correct. My food was delicious. It tastes like home cooked Saturday morning breakfast. We had all the things needed to make this a happy meal. I had a steak skillet. Real potatoes and my egg were made with perfection. Thank you for that. 0/10 would not recommend I went today 12/30/21 found out it was black owned which is always a plus or so I thought I ordered two breakfast to go meals and a bacon cheeseburger my first issue is the pictures that are posted is not what the food looks like the French toast had fruit, powdered sugar and syrup drizzle of chose clearly shown in the picture mines is plain still wet in the middle of each slice and wasn't toasty looking at all on top of that the food was cold. Secondly they don't accept credit/debit card purchases only Cashapp, Zelle, or Cash which is so unprofessional what establishment doesn't take a major form of payment it's almost 2022 that's a little sketchy to me. She repeats it again the man is sitting behind the counter on a crate hasn't said a thing to me or even looks my way but he's coaching her on what to say to me but he's the one who took my order and payment I then showed her the receipt that was given to me and the completed transaction receipt from my bank statement they both go back and forth with me that I didn't pay and the payment was never sent even after the shown proof he now has an attitude because he wants me to pay again and I wasn't by the way they have a menu made out with all the original prices scratched out with black marker and are charging people what they want for food then when you ask the price of something they hesitate to tell you now after one last time showing the completed payment the man gets annoyed with an attitude and says just give her the food just give it to her I'll never shop here again CANT even support your own people by the way the total was almost $50 for 2 breakfast meals and a hamburger smfh first and last time!!! read more

I visited Skidoe's for the first time last week. Walked in and was instantly greeted and asked if it were my first time at the restaurant and was given a sample of the jerk chicken to try. It was very moist and tasty. The menu is diverse...I ordered (to-go) the jerk chicken and shrimp combo (which comes with rice and beans) with a side of greens and Mac n cheese. Positives: -the portion of food was big enough to share...the Mac n cheese and greens were very good! Negatives: -the corn muffin had no flavor...the jerk chicken and shrimp was good BUT the jerk sauce on the chicken was a tad too salty (and I actually like salty so it had to have been too much). Overall I'd go back and definitely try other items on the menu. read more

I next tried Skidoe's on small biz Saturday and had breakfast. The pancakes weren't hot and the syrup was bland. The eggs were good. It's a very nice restaurant that's just as comfortable to carryout as it is to dine in. I ordered the jerk chicken tip (which comes on a bed of red beans and rice AND two additional sides). Pause. Now, you know the fact that have REAL sides alone is already copious shade to *glares across the street*... Lol. So, my choices were macaroni and cheese and cabbage. My grandma got the tilapia salad. Service was cool... The lady at the counter I guess was the owner/manager or something. She seemed a lil dry, but overall she had good customer service. No REAL complaints, you know? The food was pretty good and moderately priced. I also ordered from there again a few days ago, but this time I got an italian beef. It was cool... But the fries wasn't really all that amazing. To be totally honest, I've had way better food, but 1) they just opening up and I feel like with a little time, they'll get much better 2) the prices are great 3) good location (cause I love the low end!!!) 4) the restaurant itself was a very nice, comfortable doing environment. This is a great soul food place. When I walk inside I was greeted by Sharon, she was very knowledgeable about the menu. Their food was very good. Interested in patronizing eateries in the neighborhood, this place was recommended to me by a relative who is a real foodie and excellent cook. Some friends and I went there on a Sunday morning for breakfast a couple months ago. It was about 10 am or so and not many people in the restaurant which was good. No long wait. The food was great, with plenty of food to get you full. My only beef was this: Either they had a mad rush early in the morning, or they opened up the restaurant and did not clean and mop the floor from the day before. I could hear my sneakers stick to the floor as I stepped on it under my table. A real turn off and an indication the floor was not clean. Not good for a first visit. I went to breakfast on a Sunday about 3 weeks ago. It was near noon and I was surprised that there was no one in the seating area. Decided to give it a try anyway. Really glad I did because it was great. I had the French Toast platter which I knew was more than I could eat but I wanted to try a variety. People may say the food wasn't anything unusual but that's OK; I don't need unusual, I need GOOD. AND IT WAS! I killed my French Toast and my daughter destroyed her pancakes. So - i ordered a steak and ham skillet from here. I ordered my food at 11:28 am - says that they are open from 11 am until 2 pm today (Friday - 11/6). I didn't received my order until 12:45 pm. Then when I did receive my order, it was half of the order. They refunded the other item on DoorDash but didn't inform me and didn't call me and ask if I would like something else as a replacement. Or I could've just refunded the entire order. I called the restaurant and no one answered. I ended up getting a refund through DoorDash instead. This ain't the first time I've encountered an issue with this restaurant. Before when I ordered, they cancelled my order 35 minutes after me placing it because they told me they didn't have an item that I wanted and then they closed 10 minutes after they canceled it. I am all for supporting "black" businesses but this is just one business that I will no longer waste time with. read more

EXCELLENT FOOD!!!! They are fairly new to the area and the food and service is really good. We came with a group of people and the orders varied from different types of breakfast to soul food and Mexican....ALL OF IT WAS GOOD! Really hope they last for years to come! read more
