Shopped at market fisheries today 30 December. I arrived at 1006am and there was a full house. If you don't know , market fisheries has a number system, you pull your number and wait to be called. The first number they called was 32, I was number 48. This gives me time to check prices and product. The employees kept the lines moving and in less than 15 minutes I was getting served. I needed crab legs, crab meat, Cajun chicken sausage. This place always has what I need and the service is excellent. I'll be back for some catfish and buffalo later. read more

I have witnessed the Napolean complex manager or Minority owner disrespect customers for quite some time. He is rude, ignorant and often has cussed out customers. Recently, I had the unfortunate experience of interacting with him. Therefore, I will take my large business elsewhere. I've patronized this fish market for more than ten years. The quality and value of the fish/ seafood has always been undeniably good. There was never any question about fish/seafood being mislabeled; until recently! I had confidence in the business under ownership by the Brody family. I went there specifically to purchase wild caught salmon. Now instead of the fishmongers giving me the wild caught salmon I ask for they redirect me to fish which is not labeled in styrofoam packaging. The fishmongers had always been helpful, accommodating and friendly. That was clearly a standard set by the Brody family. The vibe is different. I resent the lack of integrity and refuse to buy what I suspect is not wild caught salmon. The basis of success in business is satisfying the customer by giving the customer what they want, not what you want them to have. read more

You walk in pull a number and scope out what you want as you wait. They call your number and you tell them what you'll be buying. Place is in a bad neighborhood, so dont go at night. Went inside and was just trying to look around and they were pushing me.....get a ticket, what you want , etc. The place was fckin empty. We bought some huge king crab legs and huge shrimp, but dont push me. I probably would have bought more stuff if just let me look around. Might come back, if crab turns out good. Was my first time here over a holiday weekend and it was pretty intense with orders being taken via masks but everyone was kept safe. I ordered Alaskan King crab and jumbo shrimp. I went here to buy some crabs, and I was totally disappointed, they were the worst crabs I've ever bought in my life. I've not been there again. I tried on 2 separate occasion to get some crabs, they were so skinny and empty. Me being from Florida, I am kind of a connoisseur when it comes to crabs, I look for the male, because they're always alot meatier. I know I would never go there again, to each it's own. They do have an array of fish, but that's not what I wanted. I'll go ahead and make that commute uptown, at least I know that I wight what I want. Thanks. read more

I really like this place cause you can't get fish like this on the South Side of Chicago. It's on the bus line of State Street. Just wish that they could open up earlier than 10am. You can find just about any kind of fish/seafood you want. They are really good at filling your order fast. The cashier is just as quick as the person who is taking your order. The cashier with cubs hat was very helpful and he had great customer service, even when it was busy. He stopped to get my order and rang me out in timely fashion considering the traffic in the store.
