Really impressed with this place. We got over a pound of jidori chicken cooked to order, plus rice and salad, and it was enough for our whole family with no cooking or cleanup afterward. The quality of the food really stands out, and you can tell they use great ingredients. I also like that you can choose what you want from the market counter and have it prepared right there for you. This place got some new menu items. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. Everything is cooked fresh right in front of you and I got their new prime steak and chicken ciabatta sandos to try. The steak one was super tender and juicy and had a sharp but not spicy horseradish spread, a bit of cheese, bitter arugula, juicy tomato, and crunchy onions. The chicken one had plenty of smokey char flaves, juicy tomatoes, mayo, onions, leafy arugula, and feta cheese. My fave was probably the steak one but Both were really flavorful and yummy. Ok, so the hype is legit! Stopped in this small butcher joint to see what I can see, and let me just say GLAD I DID! Ended up spending a bit more then I planned but all was worth it. Picked up a couple pounds of Jidori chicken and flap meat. Delicious! My family is spoiled (my fault) and really does not take kindly to left overs. I have been passing by this place for almost two months now and decided to stop in when I had time after work one day. The service was great, I definitely bought into the hype. Wait, they didn't have carne asada? The associate said that they did, it was just really good quality, hence the $23 a pound. I am a sucker for good quality and carne asada. I also bought some ground meat, kebab meat, spicy chicken, and chicken wings. They have Armenian flat bread called lavash, like a tortilla, but rectangular and three feet long. I also bought hummus that looked homemade; I can't say how this was because I don't eat it. Got home and the bf grilled up everything. Umm, no, I was disappointed with my very expensive carne asada that tasted nothing like carne asada. It was salty meat, as were all of the other meats. The spicy chicken was not good either. The saving grace for this place was the chicken wings, which were an eight out of ten for being crispy and the flavor was ok. Honest review: 1st time visit. Tried the chicken ciabatta. The sandwich is very flavorful, 4.5/5 on the flavor, however-the ratio of protein to bread is off. The chicken piece was very thin and small compared to the size of the bread. For a sandwich at this price I would expect for it to have a more significant amount of chicken. They package it nicely to go. By the time I got home the greens in it (arugula) had wilted. I did not mind, the flavor was there. The place looks clean. Tried LetsMeat and honestly... so good We got the chicken ciabatta sandwich and the chicken kabob wrap, both were bomb! The chicken was super juicy and actually had a lot of flavor (not dry at all). I have gotten lunch here a few times now and really enjoy it! The chicken thigh is my go-to. I love that they'll cook the meats in the butcher section for you, even though they have a full menu as well. The sides are yummy too. I get the potatoes every time. Also, I know they don't make the bread, but it is tasty and goes great with the chicken. The folks that work there are friendly, and the store itself is clean. Great new addition to Montebello. We have higher end Mexican meat markets but now we have a higher end Mediterranean/ Armenian meat market. I went on Wednesday and got some various cuts of Jidori chicken. So far I only cooked the lula and it was awesome. Looking forward to cooking and eating the wings and leg meat. They have amazing selections of beef and pork, though I'm not eating that right now, but once I'm back to eating it I will try it out. They have dry aged meat onsite which is awesome and various Mediterranean products such as various types of bread and hummus etc. overall a solid spot and very nice butcher / owner. Found my new spot for Real prime meat! I've bought some many prime usda meats from other markets and butcher shops but none have been at the quality of Let's Meat! Bought 2 New York steaks and a pound of seasoned shrimp! All I can say is Wow!!! Shrimp was perfectly seasoned and the steaks cut like butter with the steak knife. When I arrived I was greeted by Taron, the owner amazing energy and knowledge! He makes his own chili oil which has great heat but isn't overwhelming. They can also cook the meat you purchase on site, they also make chicken, lamb chops on skewers! Most definitely going back for some tzatziki and truffle oil! read more
